Legacy Taekwondo Martial Arts & After School Program

My children enjoy the programs they offer. The Before/ After school program is very convenient! The staff are caring and motivating.

My son has been going to Legacy Taekwondo for a year and a half and he absolutely LOVES it! Master Ashley & Master Anna are incredible teachers. The owner Tony is the most generous man! He's got the best sense of humor! Every person who works there welcomes you with open arms! I highly recommend anyone whose looking to put their kids in Taekwondo or even an after school program Legacy Taekwondo is the place to go! Also noone can beat their prices.

My daughter and son started their classes here three months ago and they liked it a lot. I really appreciate everyone working there. As a parent, I personally like the ambience and positivity of the place very much. Staff is very humble, cooperative and friendly with the kids. I will definitely recommend everyone to take their services in Barrie as they are " the best ".

EXTREME CAUTION RECOMMENDED! Do not entrust these people with your most prized possession, your children.

Our 7 year old daughter was refused entry to get on the bus for after school care and left alone at the school. There is no situation where this is acceptable without even attempting to notify the parents.

The details
We were informed on the evening of October 7,2022 that our CC payment did not go through for the month. (Due to the staff member writing it down wrong initially, not for insufficient funds) This was the Friday evening of a long weekend. I mentioned that it was my wife's card and that i would contact them once i got home and had spoke with her. Nothing was mentioned at this time that she would be refused entry to the bus the next day if we did not pay immediately. By the time my wife arrived home it was after 8pm and we planned instead to settle the matter on the following Tuesday (next business day)
Unfortunately, we were not given even 24 business hours from being notified before the following occurred.

We received no notice from Legacy TaeKwonDo that our daughter would be refused entry to the bus before being called by the school the following evening Tuesday October 11,2022, who let us know she was left their, and more specifically, the school let us know that Legacy TaeKwonDo told them it was due to non payment of our bills, which I'm pretty sure is a breach of information.

When approached to discuss the matter later that day the owner had no remorse for the situation and felt they were just in their actions of reckless abandonment of a minor to retrieve payment. They mentioned that it was not their responsibility to reach out and call in advance or try to chase down payments.
Anyone who puts the welfare of a child second to collecting a bill that essentially was les than 24 hours past due from time of notification should not be entrusted with such responsibility.

We tried to look past the unfinished conditions, tile floors not finished, no doors on change rooms, and overcrowded playroom with more than 30 kids at a time, and give it a chance, but we simply can not excuse this and feel compelled to share our experience with others.

We wish you luck in finding a better solution for your child.

It's been 4 years we are doing teakwando class, summer camp and before and after school program with Legacy teakwando. That was the best place for my DTR to grow. Master Anna and Master Ashley are amazing with kids, They are the kindest and very supportive people. Also they are great to work on self confidence and social skills. Very organized and punctual for drop off and pick ups as I had experience last year: my DTR guided for wrong school bus by school staff in first day of school and Mr Tony could catch it and call me directly to reconfirm it. Never been to this business, but you folks might want to talk to your drivers bringing the kids around town with your logo on it;

They were ripping up and down Essa RD with the kids screaming profanities and slurs out the window midday, not sure why the drivers didn't stop them?

Our son has been a participant in the after school program and Taekwondo class since October 2021, we have nothing but wonderful things to say about the teachers and the programs that are offered! With the help and support of the Legacy team our son is growing into a polite, respectful and confident young man! So happy we came across you guys by chance one day on a family outing!

Awesome environment and family friendly. Master Ashley and Master Anna are amazing with kids as well as adults. A good place for kids to get a good workout, learn how to protect themselves and teach them self discipline.

They are so awesome they help kids how to listen, respect, focus and build their own personality at the right way. So happy with them.

Awesome classes, daughter loves going.instructors are excellent, handle the students extremely well.keeps all students and gallery engaged.gives the kids no pressure, you can see that by the smiles on their faces and their eagerness to learn.

Had a cousin who trained in taekwondo when he was child and recommended it. Found Black Belt World East close to home. Our son signed up at 3 years old and has learned a lot as well as discipline. Masters are very professional and very highly skilled. Love taking our kids to learn new skills and have fun.

Would recommend for all ages espically if your looking for your toddler to be active and learn some new skills

My family loves TKD at BBW Barrie East. The kids say "it's the best club ever! " Master Ashley is skilled and knowledgeable. The facility is a clean, welcoming environment.

We just started here less than 2 months ago and we feel like this is a little family away from home. Very friendly staff but especially Master Ashley who is outstanding with the kids. Keep up the great work! We decided to let our 3.5 year old son give taekwondo a try, not knowing what to expect. Master Ashley is an amazing instructor and our son can't wait to go back each day!

My 6 year old been going here for about half a year. It’s been a great way for him to get some exercise and learn discipline in a fun way. Master Ashley is amazing with the kids.

My three kids are having a great time. Master Ashley makes it fun while teaching them skills and maintaining discipline in the class. The facility is clean and they are very organized.
