Lemongrass Kitchen

This is my shrimp and chicken fried rice I just received. Greasy rice and 1.25 shrimp. Wish I could take a pic and attach.

I came here with my coworker for lunch. I ordered the Sweet & Sour Pork Rice with Soup. The S&S pork was very sweet, I was not able to finish it because it was almost like eating a chocolate bar kind of sweet. The hot and sour soup was very sour, I was disappointed with the taste of my food because in my previous visit the food tasted okay. Also, when my food was ready and my number was called, I immediately stood up and walked towards the cashier to collect my food. She was yelling at the microphone to ask me to hurry up because they were very busy (I was literally 5 feet away), I did not appreciate that.

The lady that owns the restaurant is so pleasant and funny. You get a huge portion of food, and it's not very costly. I ordered the jumbo shrimp and pork fried rice. Awww, I didn't like the battered shrimps at all, the rice was ok. I didn't try the noodles so I can't speak on it.

Ordered a beef with bitter melon in black sauce. Half of it is onion. And the bitter melon taste terrible, not fresh at all. Will not go there anymore.

My bf called Karen on Saturday at 11: 15am and made an order for pick up on Sunday at 11: 30am. He forgot to add an extra dish so we called her at 2: 30pm. This is how it went:

Karen: Hi are you on your way to pick up your order?
BF: No I wanted to edit my order.
Karen: You said you would be here in half an hour.
BF: No I called for tomorrow at 11: 30am.
Karen: Okay I will cancel your order, goodbye!

She hung up on us and didn’t even attempt to clarify things. We don’t understand why she would assume we would pick up on the same day we made the order when they say to make an order 1 day prior. Also, Karen didn’t ask for our name or phone number to confirm what our order was.

Short story, we ended up ordering from Mandarin instead and spoke to Dennis who was amazing. I will never order from her again #boycottKaren

Been coming here since I was little & it’s the best place for Chinese food and slush bubble teas!

Went to order my food, the so call rude obnoxious “Lady” tried to charge me more than what was posted on the menu. I tried to ask her why she is charging more. She started talking to me in a very rudely manner, telling me to go order my food next door, she has no time for me. I told her, ”you just lost my business”, as I talked away. Her customer service is terrible! This place does not deserve to be in business. If you are thinking of purchasing from this fast food joint, don’t waste your time. Please go somewhere else. The food use to be cheap, but now the price has doubled. Not worth it.

RUDE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We’ve been customers for almost 2 decades. The owner Karen was always kind & polite. She told me I was too slow in ordering and said to use complete sentences. I asked her if she was ok because she clearly was not her usual self. She responds with, “We are very busy and you have to order faster. ” After reading the recent reviews, sounds like Karen is not well. Either take a break or pass the torch girl! You’ve had enough and you’re taking it out on the customers. It was a good stretch with Lemongrass but thanks to your awful customer service we now will take our hard earned money elsewhere and upgrade! LATER!

The Lady at the front is so mean and arrogant, she can’t wait for my order to finish and ask me to order in another shop

On December 28th 2022 me and my friend went to go get food from House of pepper (a few shops away from lemongrass kitchen) Unfortunately, it was close so we were directed towards lemongrass. There was a big lineup.we waited in the lineup and as we approach the lady at the counter, my friend said (in a jokey Manner) "oh not a good day for House of pepper to be closed". The lady then went all deranged and said " I can't make special requests order for you (didn't want dairy or meat) go look elsewhere" and then she waved for the next person to come and order.my friend said "wait I've been waiting a while so I must order. " Her response "oh I can't wait for you to order if you don't know what you want. I'm very busy. If you don't like it, go somewhere else! " At this point she did not want to take our order or even give us a chance to advise her on what we wanted And told us to go to another restaurant. My friend told her this is no way to treat customers and she should not act like that.she did not want to hear anything while completely avoiding eye contact with us.we then just walked away in disappointment.this is utterly unacceptable behavior and no one should have to endure such poor demeaning customer service. We will never come here ever again.

Oh my god! The lady in the front is very very rude, no manners, no customer service at all. She’s always rushing in any ways and No respect. Even ordering ahead through the phone is so rude and always rushing.she’s telling you “hurry up because we’re busy”. So rude very rude no manners! I don’t really understand the way they charge because why they have to charge you a tax if only accept CASH!? But Why? If they have debit machine then yes with tax of course! Very cheap place because they don’t have a debit machine right! But they should not charge tax because it is CASH only! Cheap place to buy/order foods but it’s a dirty place and very old place. Cheap foods but you’ll get sick because of the rats as per Jr.has a review 3 days ago that they have in the kitchen running around the counter! This is possible because it’s old and dirty place! Omg this is so disgusting. Will not return and Do not eat here. Not recommended. Good foods but for sure MSG is the number one ingredients. Not healthy at all.

DO NOT EAT HERE! I saw a rat running across the prep table, I immediately cancelled my order and got a refund, even though the owner did not want to provide a refund to me. She made excuses and said the place is clean and she can't control the rat problem they have. I will never eat here again and will spread the word of the disgusting conditions of their restaurant.

Why do i feel like there’s monopoly going on here? The other 2 chinese restaurants looks like is working for this place. The only independent restaurants that I noticed are the chinese at the far end, the bbq place, the filipino place and the japanese one.

I over heard the lady here trash talking the filipino restaurant next to here. She said to the guy “food there is no good, i have pancit here is better”. Like wth?

Me and my family went to this store for the first time. I was trying to place my order and was struggling to read their menu as my 4 month old has been crying non stop. The lady at the counter told me that if I'm not ready to place the order that I need to move aside. I apologized to her and told her that I'm ready but she rudely told me to just order somewhere else since I couldn't concentrate with a crying baby and that they are very busy. I have never been treated so rudely like the way she did. She has no costumer service skills at all and no manners! Will never be back to this place nor recommend it! T

The owner is very rude, Im ordering by phone and shes telling me to hurry up coz shes busy, and Im not even done on my order and she hanged up the phone.

Too complicated to get a meal there.so many items on the menu, then, when I selected one, I got sent to a different booth to place the order. Also, they only accept cash

The worst customer service I've ever experienced in Canada. The worker was super rude, she wasn't speaking clearly and loudly enough and she was giving a super bad attitude for us asking her to repeat herself. There is no excuse to treat customers like that. I don't understand how management would keep someone that is not prepared to deal with customers in her position. By reading other reviews here, it's clear that the same behaviour is happening for months without any signal of improvements.
Lastly, they have a phone number that doesn't work at all, so you can't even call to place a order.

Had a very bad experience here. I used to come to this place for years and Karen used to be so nice, but now she’s the complete opposite. She will rush you right away. Does not give you a second to speak. She will say “we’re very busy. You don’t understand me. Go to the next place” even though I was trying to give my order. I do not recommend ordering from this place at all.

My mom was ordering her food and when she was about to pay, she asked “are you taking debit? ”. The lady who was taking the order said “go to the next store, were busy. ” in a rude way. She didn't end up getting her food, she could at least be more nice.

Absolutely the WORST food my wife and I have ever eaten. The Cantonese Chow Mein was all noodles, and what meat there was consisted of tasteless beef, rubbery squid and a single shrimp smothered in what tasted like beef gravy. The spicy squid had a thick batter and was overcooked and rubbery. Both meals were inedible. The server was also very rude and nasty.
Avoid at all cost!

Some of the best Chinese food I have had in this area. I ordered 3 dishes off Uber Eats and all 3 were warm, delicious and cooked to proper authentic chinese-food standards. Will be ordering here more often.

It was my first time ordering from this place. As soon as the lady answered the phone she said "Hello" and I answered hello back. She immediately replied rudely saying "Tell me what you want already, i'm busy". She was rushing me through the order (I only ordered a large fried rice party tray). This is not how someone should treat customers. I understand you are busy but answering phones or orders from the get-go like this deters people from ordering again from the bad experience you give from the start. I do not recommend. There are other great vendors/stalls in this mall that i'm sure treat their customers a lot better!

She rudely hung up my phone while I was taking an order because “they were so busy” and told me to visit their spot to order instead. If you were busy, told me first instead of interupting my order. Just to let you know this was my first time and I will never oder again.

Been coming here almost 20 years. Classic fast Chinese food, always good quality and priced right. Big fans of sweet & sour pork, black bean beef on fried noodle. This place is never not busy.

Allege reviewer said it best: this place is 100x better than any mall food court in the entire GTA. Don't forget, cash only here. Thank us reviewers later. Enjoy.

If I could give no star rating, I would. The lady (Karen Seto) that owns the store is very rude and condescending towards her customers. She has no issue with berating you in front of people due to her short temper over small little inconveniences. Was with my family celebrating Fathers Day and we had just gotten there and was looking over the menu while she was busy doing stuff. We waited and she rudely told my family to tell her our order or move out of the way. Mind you, there was only one person behind my family so there is no reason to rush us. I ran into two other families who were disrespected from her and shared their experience with us. Truly disgusting behaviour from her. I recommend not to patronize her business.

10/10 amazing service, amazing food, one of the best lemongrass places. Their service is amazing. I will forever be a loyal customer!

Liked the food selection and price affordability.

Need some improvement on customer service, lacking staff leading into long line ups. After 30 minutes of wait, be ready to spell out your order in detail in 3 seconds!

I bought the Cantonese noodles; The food was delicious. Looking forward to trying some of their other options next time.

Good prices, food is not bad, and you get an authentic cultural Hong Kong experience. The boss lady here is exemplary of what to expect when going to a fast paced restaurant in Hong Kong.

Know what you want in advance and don't ask for substitution - you will get torn apart and upset other customers. This place is not for the faint of heart. She was yelling at her staff in the back, which was awesome to hear and see. It cannot get more real than this. True culture at its best. You have been warned but I highly encourage you all to experience this!

Perhaps the best Chinese food in Mississauga. Along with the best price for bubble tea at $3.50! My family's become regulars now bc LK is so good
