Leña Restaurante

Came here for lunch with coworkers on a Tuesday. It was pretty busy, but it’s a spacious restaurant once you get deeper inside and the atmosphere is very nice.

I had the 8oz beef flatiron steak with chimichurri and fries. It was cooked pretty well but the sauce tasted burnt and I looove chimichurri, so I was a bit disappointed and didn’t enjoy my dish as much. The steak could have used a little salt for more flavour, but on a positive note the fries were delicious! Crispy and thin with good seasoning.

I would come back to give the menu a second chance - maybe try some appetizers and a different main, but probably not anytime soon.

Good food, but not amazing.the chorizo appetizer was amazing but for a Latin American restaurant, the churros were a complete miss (3$ extra for dulce de leche.). Service was mediocre, drinks took forever as did the food even though it seemed quite slow (perhaps an issue of lack of staff). Overall a solid 3/5 could be better with better service

My wife and I have been here 4 times in 2023 and each visit has been a fabulous experience. The staff are professional and helpful. The food is excellent as is the whole atmosphere of the restaurant. The cocktails are wonderful the people behind the bar are artists. If you are down town then call in but it maybe wise to book in advance.

Oh my god.best spaghetti i have ever had in my life.and it wasnt even expensive.also they put a shot of vodka in my drink for free.actually it might have been the best meal of my life

Hight recommended for a cozy time with friends for a special occasion or a romantic date, the steak is great also the chicken dish, the fries are tasty but was a bit like the dead sea with the amount of salt, thank you and we will be back for sure.

Service was great but disappointed in their brunch. We were seated alone in the upper dinning area which lessened the ambiance experience.

We had a great time at Leña. The food, atmosphere and service were just perfect. Our party ordered various different dishes from the summerlicious and a la carte menu. All dishes were absolute flavour bombs, and were all unique in their own ways. Nothing remained on our plates because it was sooo good. We hope to return sometime soon to try out the other offerings at Leña.

Had a lovely dinner at Leña last night, the food was delicious (cannot recommend the yuca fries enough, MUST HAVE!). The atmosphere was cozy and elegant, the food was fresh and the portions were great (there are also lots of vegetarian options!). Our server Rahul took great care of us, we let him know of a food sensitivity, he made amazing recommendations, and made sure we all had something yummy to eat. He provided us with an amazing experience. If you’re ever in, make sure you ask for Rahul! We will likely be back next week:)

The place is nice but the food more or less, the chorizo ​​has a strange medium texture and the flavor is more or less, nothing like an Argentine chorizo. The hamburger is good.

Great ambiance, super groovy retro Salsa/Cumbia latino rock&pop música. Food is good, menu options could be better or more diverse. Unfortunately the ceviche or mariscos aren't available from the kitchen after 5pm so it wasn't possible to have ceviche for dinner.major let down. But the meat and wine definitely made up for the lose.

Were at Lena for the taste of Iceland event. The staff is very accomodating, our third course was running a bit behind so they offered us wine on the house and assured the meal will be coming shortly. Clean facilities and a good menu.

Enjoyed dinner here immensely. Was not expecting such a lively atmosphere from the reviews online but walked into a packed upstairs room full of conversation. Prompt and courteous service from the bartender despite the bar being completely full. Had the lamb sirloin with goat cheese gnocchi which was outstanding. Easily now one of my favorite restaurants in Toronto.

Love their brunch! The ambiance is so nice- I love the interior design and the service has always been top knotch. Would recommend to have drinks or brunch here around the holiday season!

Place is beautiful but it is unfortunate I cannot say the same of the food or wait staff. Got the octopus main with brussel sprouts and some other veggies which were hard and underdone. Waiter suggested yucca fries and when they didn’t come he couldn’t remember that we ordered them. They came fast but were mreh. Ordered an espresso when asked if we wanted coffee or tea. It never came either. Then split the bill between two people and he put a full bottle of wine on each bill when we only had one bottle. Over hyped place with nice decor. Good drinks but pass on the rest.

Great ambience, cool selection of Latino Rock & Pop 90's era music and above all great meat dish. Can't say the same for the Ceviche and/or Mariscos (seafood) on offer since it was off the menu for dinner time. BUT the empanadas are a must to try!

We had a wonderful dining experience! We didn’t make reservations before going to the theatre - they were very accommodating, made sure our order was placed quickly and we had enough time to get back to the theatre. The food was absolutely delicious & drinks were awesome. Couldn’t believe the atmosphere on a Tuesday - very lively! Beautiful decor, love the washrooms! Staff was very friendly too!

Lamb & my husband had the burger. Both very tasteful!

This is an Argentinian restaurant and bar. It's an upscale place and on the pricier side but the food is excellent as well as the service. I went on a Wednesday night with colleagues from work and had a wonderful evening

We started with a number of tapas; aged ham, calamari, ceviche, quail eggs. They were all quite good; appropriately seasoned and all with nice presentation.

We also shared our mains which were a squid ink fusilli pasta with seafood and andoille sausage, grilled octopus with brussel sprouts, and a grilled veal with a beautiful sauce served with yucca fries and leaf vegetables. Dessert was a rice pudding and chocolate mousse with passionfruit.

Drinks were very good and the service was friendly and efficient. Will definitely return.

My favorite place in town, ambiance is unique. I always take the avocado toast. Best post workout meal.just one thing it's a bit overpriced but quality is here and staff is amazing

No matter how great a restaurant's food looks and tastes, NONE of that matters if the customer service isn't good. A friend of mine and one of Leña's staff members actually recommended this place to me. So I made a reservation. It's unfortunate that the manager there didn't have great customer service. I made a reservation 3 weeks ago and was told that my table wasn't guaranteed when I arrived. The customer service is a joke and not a single one of them can handle a busy restaurant under pressure. They all need to be retrained on how to make reservations a PRIORITY. If I wanted to wait 30 minutes I would've walked in.

Oh, and too bad I can't critique the food which probably would've earned this review another star.but I was actually turned away by management.

Anyway, we ended up going to The Chase (Oliver Bonacini's restaurant) who took me and my friends in under 3 minutes, without a reservation and I ordered their fries with an amazing truffle aioli, their lamb roast rack which was served with lamb bacon, confit celery root, pickled fennel & pears, bartlett pear mostarda, and finished off with an amazing lamb jus. SO MUCH MORE WORTH IT! Go to The Chase. Don't waste your time and money at Leña.

Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food. I came here twice for lunch and it was great. Last night I came here for my birthday and ordered a pasta. It was small but tasty. My table mate ordered the same thing and it came a few moments later. However, her plate seemed a good portion bigger than mine. I was not impressed, especially for the price. But the servers were all great and everyone had fun. I will still come here, but I will definitely not order that pasta again.

I rarely write reviews but I feel I should share our wonderful experience my mother and I enjoyed at your restaurant. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, this was by far one of the most amazing dining experiences we have ever had.
We were greeted at the door by I think the manager on duty, he was warm and friendly with a great attitude. I think his name was Gerald or Jared, he did introduce himself. He sat us at a table in the main dining area on street level and went about explaining the menu, as we weren’t familiar with a lot of the dishes. Which was a great touch. He was very knowledgeable and thorough and even went out of his way to recommend some amazing wine. Which once again, Argentina and Spanish wines are not my forte.
We were greeted by a lovely waitress who took us through the menu and and recommended some lovely starters and entrees which were outstanding.
Never once were our waters empty and Jared would regularly stop by and see how we were doing. Our food and service were wonderful.
But what really topped off our night was a gesture that went above and beyond that is very rare in this industry.
My mother, who is in her 80’s and has trouble seeing needed assistance to find the washroom. Not only did Jared escort my mother to the elevator, but got in with her, showed her the washroom and waited outside and took her back up to our table. What a nice touch. And at the end of our meal, walked us both outside and hailed a cab and made sure that we both got in safely. It was touches like these that during and after such a wonderful meal that speaks volumes of the kind of staff that are employed here. Thanyou Lena, to our wonderful server (I cant remember her name) and thank you to Jared for making our night so memorable. We will be back that’s for sure. This is an experience we had to share and to let others know to come here, you’ll sure be treated wonderfully.

I’ll start with the good. Service was super nice, and the actual place is really cool. The food was meh, not anything special especially given what you’re paying. The food is not at par with other Oliver B restaurants. The octopus dish description was deceiving, it’s listed in the entrees but is essentially an appetizer dish. I left hungry, got home and had to make myself a Nutella sandwich and to top it off it didn’t taste that good either. My wife had the half decent ribeye but There are better steak places for better prices. Won’t be going back

Absolutely disgusted by my first visit at this place that I didn't even stay and dine here. Firstly, I made reservations for FOUR ok, for my friend's birthday. We arrived at the reservation time of 8pm to find out that our table was being put together. Ok great, pretty normal. After about 5 minutes, the host who told us our table was being put together came back to us and brought out a manager who then told us that unfortunately because of circumstances our table wont be available for a little while and that we would wait at the bar, and asked us if we were there for the Icelandic tasting menu. I then replied with no? We made reservations for a regular dinner. He replied with I understand but your table isn't going to be ready for a little while, in such a rude way as if I shouldn't have replied with what I said. I asked him if he would give me a time and he said 30 minutes. EXCUSE ME? I WOULD RATHER WALK IN TO THE CHASE (30 SECOND WALK AWAY) AND WAIT 30 MINUTES KNOWING THAT I DIDNT HAVE A RESERVATION. I looked at my friends and proudly told them we're going to The Chase. I can't believe that a competitor's restaurant that charges double what Leña would took us in without hesitation and MADE AN AVAILABLE TABLE for four within 3 minutes WITHOUT RESERVATIONS. I LITERALLY MADE MY RESERVATION 3 WEEKS AGO FOR THIS DAY AT THIS TIME AT LEÑA RESTAURANT. I was so excited to taste the flavours of Spain again. That was my favorite trip of all time. I am never coming back to Leña, never referring anyone to Leña, and I'm never endorsing this place to any tourist I come across in Toronto. Who the hell doesn't have a reserved table accommodated right away? This restaurant needs to live up to where you are located. This is not the service you should be instilling in your staff in the heart of Downtown Toronto. Still shocked. Anyway my friends and I spent over $500 at The Chase and it was completely worth it, everyone give it a try! They also have amazing, over the top service. It's about 30 seconds south on Yonge from Richmond, on Temperance street. Make that decision.

This place offers typical brunch fare with a Spanish flair i.e. Poached eggs on a mini enchilada. Service started out friendly but then the manager took over for some reason and she was grumpy! Based on food and ambiance, this would have been a 5 star review.

Absolutely gorgeous interior. One of the most exciting restaurants I've been to in Toronto. Really nice diversity in the menu. All the dishes we ordered were fantastic.

My daughter suggested and met us at this establishment after seeing the play "Bat out of Hell". We enjoyed an appetizer which was quite nice. For our main course my wife had the $33.00 grilled shrimp which consisted of 5 or 6 large shrimp with asmall side dish of baby yukon gold potatoes and rapini. She enjoyed the side dish but she asked me to taste her shrimp as she wasn't enjoying it. It was dry and over grilled and tasted burnt. I had the $28.00 Brisket burger which was cooked perfectly and the topping on it were quite tasty. The balance of the plate was covered with a large quantity of deep fried potatoes which tasted like the type that come frozen in a bag from Costco. Service was fine until it was time to get the bill and our waitress seemed to magically disappear. After more than 30 minutes of waiting my daughter finally had to ask another to get our bill. As this meal was a birthday gift from my daughter we didn't want to make a fuss and spoil her time with us. I found the meals a little pricey for quality and presentation and for our next visit to the area we will try a different eating establishment.

Really enjoyed my time here. It a nice cozy space with lots of light. We shared an appetizer and I had the veal entree and it was delicious. Definitely will come here again and the service was 5-star.

Cool, sleek and sexy environment and great menu! Wine list is also strong! Oysters are perfect, seabream was amazing! Dont forget the Gluten free cheese cake that is to die for! They also usually have a DJ during dinner hours and he is great! I think he is new to LENA as of late.on Thursdays and Fridays I believe. Plays really nice music and selection, set well for the crowd - keep this guy around! He was there tonight again great time, great dinner! 100%

Every year Toronto Restaurants are hosts to Summerlicious. Restaurants like Lena, open their doors and discount their menu prices to offer a fixed price menu for paying patrons. We had the most delicious course-meal for an affordable rate. It was simply the best. Location is very ambient and upscale. It attracts a trendy and upscale after-work crowd. We enjoyed the service, and the attentiveness of our waitress. Food was amazing and our drinks commanded attention.

Amazing atmosphere and great service! But drinks were average (though creative- not “delicious” or worth $18. The pink fairy was unstrained and FULL of raspberry seeds LOL. SO unpleasant. And of the dishes I tried, the flavors were all very average. The empanadas to start, had a failed pastry texture. Mushy filling and over baked olives. Sardines toast was ok. Tuna sashimi (tho highly suggested by our waiter as the best on the menu) was nothing special. This place is ONLy redeemed by the amazing Decor and lovely ambience. And windows. And location. But def not. A5 starts kind of experience if you actually enjoy really tasty and delicious eats and drinks. I wouldn’t go back. Too many other GREAT spots in town and demand a return trip.

Service was poor. Waiter did not upsell or offer suggestions. When food arrived, they did not know the seat numbers and just "auctioned" off the food to everyone. I would not go back.
