Lena’s Roti & Doubles

The goat roti felt a bit like cheese but was tasty nonetheless. The double was also alright for the price it costs. Would order here once in a while.

I ordered four wedding size paratha roti for a birthday party. The rotis were delicious, everyone complimented on how soft and good the roti was. Great place to order roti and doubles.

Great size portion. The curry goat and boneless chicken were so tasty. And the Dalpouri was amazing! We will be returning for sure.

I don't leave reviews often but this is the first time I've tried doubles and this place has me hooked. I want to come back and try every type. I also ordered the Tuesday special (stuffed chicken curry paratha) which was also very good but the doubles are amazing. The price for everything was under $10 and in this day and age that's amazing honestly. I'm a big guy and it filled me up. My only critique is the hot sauce was too spicy for my taste so start with mild and work up from there (West Indian spice is no joke). Will be back to try more and bring some home to the family. Highly recommended.

I drive an hour and some, even if it's to buy doubles. These people are the best in the city. Please ifcyour goimg to go up there to shop, pick me up, we can share a lamb rottie, I'll eat it and you can wipe my mouth. It's that good.

It’s a pretty good place, the Brampton one is still my favourite. The portions are great, however I don’t find the flavouring of the jerk chicken as great as the other locations.

Best doubles I've ever had! I got food from here several times in the past, but lately, the quality of food has been a little inconsistent with things like spice-levels and other details.

Bought roti (parata) the other week from the Ajax location, was not impressed, the look, quality, and taste of the roti has definitely gone down from what it use to be. The roti was thick and the edges did not look as if it was cooked fully. Will not be buying roti from there again.

Thankful to have a spot in the North part of Ajax to get my roti/jerk fix. I had the special of Jerk chicken, rice and chowmein noodles. Delicious! I got 3 whole pieces of chicken over a substantial amount of rice and noodles and it lasted me 2 meals.

Is this paratha or sada roti? ! Disappointed, the paratha is not good, the dual tasted like actual water, and this is the only roti shop on the planet that doesn't give curry potatoe standard with roti? ! Nor do they offer an individual or small portion of curry potatoe! You have to order a large curry potatoe for $8? !

April 23,2022 Update: I thought I would re-review this place since it's been a while since I've been here. I called in for a goat roti today. Was a little pricey but then again what isn't nowadays? It's been a while since I've been to Lena's but I have to say that I really did enjoy my meal and it was worth every penny. I simply can't find a better Caribbean restaurant in all of Durham region. They just know how to make it how you want it. They know how to make a curry. The food if also very filling and they know how to make it spicy. Gonna go with 5 stars all the way for this joint. Definitely worth a visit.

I have been to many Caribbean restaurants in the Greater Toronto area. Some were unsatisfactory and bland and some hit the spot.
My husband and I went to Lenas yesterday in Ajax and ordered the vegee platter.
We were very happy with our choice.
The buss up shot was soft, light and not oily, the vegetables of fried ochroes, bhajee, curry mangoes and chataigne were all very tasty and a genuine Trinidad cuisine.
The staff was very engaging and friendly while we waited for our order.
The waiting area was clean and well organized.
I look forward to my next visit.
We love the food and will tell our foodie friends about this place.

Very Delicious & Yummy. As a Trini this was just perfect brought back old memories! ️ Doubles almost taste like back home nothing can compare to back home but it was really similar Well Done All Yuh!

Re-ordered 3 jerk chicken Roti yesterday it was dry and no flavour the jerk chicken seems old and dry not coming back again in this place.

I ordered food for 40 to celebrate my mother’s 87th birthday party. Nila was just perfect in understanding what we needed, making suggestions setting everything up and making sure it was ready for pickup! Everything we got was excellent! Curry goat, curried channa and potato, jerk chicken, rice and peas, roti…I can’t wait to use Lena’s Roti for the next large group gathering so I will be dropping in for meals very soon!

My friend brought some potato curry and chickpea roti over to try and it was bomb af. Top tier, great flavours, spice is nice. Can't wait to try some more

First time here. Ordered 2 of the daily specials of small jerk chicken, rice and peas with the coleslaw. The portion size was ample size, seemed like a regular size if ordered from any other restaurant. Jerk chicken was simply amazing. Melt in your mouth quality. Good amount of meat in the dish. Delicous coleslaw. Wait time for food wasn't too long, considering the volume of customers coming in. Can't wait to try this place out again and experience more of their dishes. Would recommend for sure.

Tried for the first time because my regular roti places are closed on Sundays. Glad I tried it, ordered the goat and chicken roti.

Simply delicious, amazing food. Stopped here on the way back from a cottage, ordered a chicken roti, chicken dhal soup, and shrimp double. Left my bank card in the car and he gave me time to grab it even though there was a long line. I'll gladly drive from whitby to this top notch restaurant.

Very clean and modern setting for a West Indian/indo-caribbean restaurant. Fast service. Lots of options, especially vegetarian options. One of the better Doubles quality in the ajax area. A bit on the pricey side. Overall - very happy to have a clean and quality option for this type of food in Ajax, will revisit for sure.

As fresh as my pholourie was, I think I prefer them room temperature or cooled down because all you can taste is the oil that its fried in. The tamarind sauce is amazing. Wish the prices were a bit cheaper but the staff is friendly and the restaurant is well kept

So far just had the doubles. They were the best I had in years. Very friendly and make you feel welcomed. The store is clean and comfortable. I will definitely be back and hope the rest of the menu is as good.

Honestly this place is the perfect hidden gem. I never heard about them until I accidentally ended up in the wrong plaza trying to look for Chatime lol. The place was tidy and the wait was not long. The service was amazing! I got the four mild doubles with the tamarind sauce to split with my sister and I definitely will be coming back. I say the only thing I would do different next time is to eat it with some pepper sauce.

Glad I visited this restaurant. The food was on point. Liked the flavour profile and the spice level. The restaurant was clean and the service was good. The prices are high considering the quantity of food you get. Paid $14 for a goat roti and was a little surprised at the amount of goat meat I actually got. They also charge 35 cents to use their debit machine. Dont think it's fair/legal for them to charge this. Wish it was a little less potatoes and more meat. Again, the food is good but the price isnt really worth what you get. I'm sure I will be back, but only because I dont feel like driving 12 mins to go to drupatis.

I’m surprised by the 5.0 rating (at the moment) - while Lena’s is good, it’s is definitely not great. Prices are on the high and I don’t think you can say “home cooking” as I’ve never had a chicken doubles in Trinidad. I’ve also had the unfortunate experience of receiving uncooked pholourie - oozing batter and all.after calling the restaurant I was told to return the pholourie, when I arrived 10 minutes later, I was then told to wait in a 15 person line up if I wanted more, I’ll pass.
