The sandwich is not bad. I liked it because the spicy was just I liked and the meal wasn't fatty at all. I chose the spicy beef sandwich. However, the lady is not very welcoming and friendly. You also need cash, don't like that part also.
Great little Bahn mi shop and provisions store. Really excited that I can get my Bahn mi fix without having to go all the way to Chinatown. Only been once so far, but I'll definitely be going again!
A very local, friendly, and delicious spot for some authentic Bahn Mi sandwiches and assorted Vietnamese snacks! Go on, order a toasted sandwich and Le, will take care of the rest.
This little OG Bánh Mì & mini corner shop on the West End, on College & Dufferin carries a Vietnamese dish called Bánh Bột Lọc - which consists of small long & rectangular, clear-looking, chewy tapioca dumplings, typically filled with shrimp and pork belly. There were 4 pieces in this pack of Bánh Bột Lọc. The pack was $5! I got the 2 packs they had. It was delicious. I would have bought their whole inventory lol. Note: They don’t always have these available - so you can call ahead and ask!
If you live nearby, or if you’re in the area, please stop by this little OG Vietnamese gem and give Bánh Bột Lọc a try! They also had a nice selection of goodies (candy, cookies) from my childhood. I didn’t take a closer look - but I’ll be sure to check out their selection next time I’m in the area.
Great Vietnamese sandwich shop. Recently discovered it and the banh mi here is delicious. The assorted spicy is so good and so is the Vietnamese coffee. Highly recommend.
So happy I found this place. Was just walking through and could not resist as I haven’t even had a Banh Mi sandwich in years but used to live off of them when I was a student.
And it didn’t disappoint! Bread was great! Balance of flavours inside were spot on!
:) By far my favourite banh mi place in the city. Its 4.50$ for a spicy, assorted cold cut banh mi (plus I add extra veggies for 1$). Usually will pick up 2, that way I get one for now and one for later (or a friend).
There is also a grocery section with tons of South East Asian snacks, ingredients, beverages, etc.
This place is exactly what I look for from a sandwich shop: simple and easy, nothing complex or overwhelming for the customer.
Terrible, i ordered vegeterian banh mi and the baguette was so hard that if i try to bend it it would break. There was barely any tofue inside and whatever was in there was very cold and didn't seem cooked it was marinated. There was also barely any veggies. Everything is basically pre-made and microwaved after. Sorry but this was disgusting.
Coming from Vietnamese descent, the place is nothing special for banh mi standards. The place could use an update inside. It doesn't look the cleanest either nor was even busy inside. Also, the lady was really unpleasant when I asked for extra carrot - she wanted to charge $1 extra. I know it's nothing, but carrots are dirt cheap to begin.
