What's the point or having an appointment? Waited for 30 mins, still waiting. May just take the time to write the review.

They don't even have admin staff even they are so busy. The lab techs do the draw or test, but also need to register/check in the patients.

They should also have 2 windows for check-in: one for walk in, the other for patients with an appointment.

I had a terrible experience. I booked an appointment for 3: 30pm. I arrived at 3: 15 and started with the paperwork. I emailed the documents that were required. Unfortunately, they were not receiving my emails, and the receptionist started getting a very rude and aggressive attitude. In spite of me having an appointment at 3: 30, I was attended at 4: 15pm.

USELESS! Went to get two stool sample kits late this morning, and the lady told me to bring them back later that day as they have a short life… but they were closed! Apparently they bunk off early every other Friday for “training” but there’s nobody there training. A tiny sign in the window. Why tell me to come back later that day KNOWING YOU’D BE CLOSED!? !? I had to do my samples before starting my medication. If she had told me they would be closing early, I’d have held off until tomorrow. Now I started my medication before my trip back so now it’s useless. Thanks LifeLabs

I had a bad experience at this place, there is no privacy, all rooms open with the front to the reception. The wait time was long and the communication terrible

I had a disappointing experience at Lifelabs, a walk-in/appointment bloodwork clinic. Despite having an appointment, I had to endure a 45-minute wait, being shuffled between multiple rooms with poor communication among the staff. The waiting room was overcrowded, accommodating more than it comfortably could, with an unprofessional and rude staff.

The nurse who took my blood last time was absolutely lovely but the front desk woman is absolutely useless. I brought a paper requisition last time and she was struggling with the gentleman in front of me and his email requisition and this morning I emailed my requisition in instead and she advised me that the printer is not working. Why is it in the year 2023 they cannot work without a paper copy? I asked her if that meant I couldn’t have my appointment and she advised that it did, and I had to go print the requisition and come back. I’m not one to demand an apology but there was zero empathy for something that was the lab’s fault. Where is someone meant to go to get something printed at 8: 30 AM? What an incredible waste of my time. I will be going to another location and would advise others to do the same.

Pros:
-Low wait times for me (30mins)
-Friendly and professional staff
-Smooth blood collection experience considering I have small/invisible veins

Downside:
-Overcrowded and small space
-Appears dirty/poorly maintained

Booked an appointment online for today - made it just in time to get to the line up that's out the door. The poster indicated that if you booked, you should still stay in line. That I did, and they ask if you've booked an appointment when you get to talk to registration. By this time I'm like half an hour over, and I see my name on the screen greyed out. But in a few minutes my name was on the board and got called in pretty quickly - so it seems that even if you're delayed to register, they'll still try to slot you in cuz you've made an appointment. Walk-ins seem to be pushed back until the appointment people get in.so be sure to go online and book before you go! Plus then you have a log in to view results!

DO NOT USE THEIR SITE TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT. You will be on hold for hours and if you try to use the site it never works.

My first time coming here for blood work and was expecting a bad experience based on what was written in the reviews. This was not the case, I was behind 2 people in line, and was greeted within 2 mins. Young girl was very pleasant as well as the lady who took my blood. Friendly and smiling. I waited roughly 5-10 mins max.

Expect very professional and friendly service at the lab. It is usually busy so I would recommend booking the appointment in advance. However for walk ins I believe the best time is in the morning before 7: 45 am I would say, still expect a wait time around 30 mins. Overall, very reliable service.

If you have an appointment it doesn’t matter you still in the line to register and still on wait same as all walkins.
Staff are heavy with “not my problem attitude”. I don’t recommend this location.

I have taken lab exams many times here, it is very smoothy, staff is very kind. Sometimes, waiting times can be longer than expected however the experience here in general is great.

Best blood draw ever, Jacqueline Mcdermott was the best technician I have ever had. I have small arteries so they are normally difficult to find. Minimum 3 tries but not for Jacqueline, she barely looked at my arm and found the artery with a smile. Thanks again fr the great experience

I had a bloodwork appt this past Saturday (the 12th) and both the front desk person & the tech who took my sample were LOVELY. So polite, kind, friendly. I really felt like they cared about the appointment and experience. Best experience at a lab I have had in my 34 years. Thanks to you both!:)

After reading the other reviews I was a little concerned, but my visit went extremely smoothly. Covid safety was adhered to and I waited less than 5 minutes for my blood draw. I was out the door in less than 10 minutes total. Highly efficient! Won't hesitate to choose this location again.

I'm always anxious about blood work, but this place was great. Girl, who was taking my blood was quick and efficient, I did feel comfortable. All in all, it took me 10 minutes

I've come to this lab quite a few times. It is always super quick. In and out within 20 minutes. I also have extremely hard to access veins. It is always a struggle to draw blood. Fanos is amazing and the only person who gets my vein in first shot and effortlessly. Highly recommend requesting her!

FRIENDLY and HIGHLY SKILLED Life Labs staffs. I've been here twice, first on a very busy day and on a down time. The Asian staffs are highly skilled and friendly.

I have gone to this location for years, due to the need for regular blood tests. So this isn't remotely close to a one-off review. I have always had efficient and friendly experiences with the staff. Always, not once have I had an issue. I am very sorry to read that others have not had the same experience.

Service was extremely quick but i ended up with a bruise on my hand and had to have 2 different nurses pull blood from me.

One woman there was rude and not kind when a patient arrives there. I had experiences with many kind and patient nurses at other places before.

Can't say I'm a fan. Usually rather disorganized when I attend. Last time I went found out a week later that I needed to get it redone as the sample had been "mishandled". Don't bother making appointments - doesn't save any time at all, as you still need to wait in line. Actual testing work is mostly fine, though occasionally testy.

I had booked an appointment. When I got there I was greeted at the door, asked some pre-screening questions and then a pretty simple process after that. The staff was nice, friendly and I was out of there in 15mins. No crowding and I felt safe. Thankyou Life Labs on Queen Street for efficient service and keeping everyone safe.

Came in despite poor reviews as i needed a blood test done and reviews were right. Delayed and Rosaline was awful and rude for no reason.

I've been to this location many times to give blood. They are very efficient, respectful, and I've never had a problem. Also, they do ECGs which is extremely convenient (not a lot of clinics do both bloodwork and ECG). They are a small office and therefore they only have room for one ECG station, so it may be a wait. Way better experience than I had at Dynacare.

Absolutely horrendous experience. Had to have a very specific blood test done, directed by St. Mikes to get it done at this location. A lady at the front outright refused to do the test. Wouldn't directly speak to me, and addressed a general receptionist to turn me away, all while Im standing there listening to her looking at her face. When I questioned why she said because they are closing soon (still had over an hr before closing), and that the blood sample wouldn't get sent to the main hospital and would be disposed of, meaning that we would have to return to redo it tomorrow? After arguing with her trying to understand how they can dare do such a thing while scanning an OHIP card, effectively getting paid. I got on the phone with the doc office who sent us there and they were shocked at something so absurd. They basically told them you can't refuse us and to complete the test immediately. Incredibly rude liars, trying to pick and choose who to serve.

I walked in here for the first time during my lunch time and it was fast, efficient. The whole wait time and taking my blood was done in less than 15 minutes. The staff were friendly and fast. I would definitely come again.

I have been here several times and have had a great experience. Plan on spending about 30-mins between registering, waiting, giving blood and leaving. It is usually pretty busy as its the downtown location.

Staff has always been very friendly and gentle (I am a baby with needles)!

First, they refused my doctor’s prescription since it is an out of province (which by law they should accept) so I had to see a doctor and pay out of my pocket for the consultation (since I didn’t have an ohip yet) to get the same prescription rewritten, then they refused to give me my blood test results, I didn’t have an ohip when I did them so I can’t see the results online. I insisted on getting them since they didn’t fax them to my doctor in the other province but the lady refused. I am a doctor myself and know that I have the right to access my health data, I will act on that and will never recommend them to anyone, very unprofessional.

Not that great of a service. They don't tell you that you need "Lab Visit Number" when you come in. You need that number so that you can register online to view your results! You can not get that number after 30 days have passed. By the time I got a bill from them, via snail mail, 30 days already have passed. So, they basically ask you to pay but can not give you an access to view your results!

The lab made a huge error. Instead of 8.5 litres they reported 1.5 litres. I personally handed the sample to the staff and discussed the amount with them.

Cant get much better than this for a downtown centre. The staff are very friendly and nice. I walked in and waited only about 10-15 mins. The washrooms were a bit dated and could have been a bit cleaner but you cant expect alot with the location. Got what I needed done and left in a timely manner.

Not really sure why so many reviews are describing it as dirty. I mean, it's not a 5 star hotel but the floors were clean, the cubicles were they drew blood seemed fine and everyone was wearing gloves. All in all, it was a very standard medical lab and I don't mean that in a bad way. There were at least 6 people ahead of me when I went in and I only waited about 20 min for my turn which was probably due to the technicians just being very focused on their work. Beside me was a toddler who was obviously not enjoying their experience and I could hear the technician being very patient and kind with them so that was really nice. My own experience was great; fast, professional and nearly painless

Great experience! Staff were friendly and welcoming, and very empathetic to my apprehension of getting blood taken. In and out in less than 20 minutes. Will be returning:)

I do not like this location. You are treated very robotically like a piece in an assembly line. The employees speak to you as little as possible and not loud enough to hear them clearly. They don't do simple courtesy such as giving you a pen when asked to fill something in, or tell you where the washroom is if you are told to give a urine sample. You have to ask or figure it out for yourself. You leave wondering if the job has been done properly and if the staff care. This location does seem dirty as previously stated. Proper handwashing rules (posted at sink of their washroom) state to use paper towel to turn off the taps. None is provided. Posted sign says use hand dryer. The washroom is dirty and needs maintenance (toilet seat loose). It unfortunately conveniently located by St Michael's hospital - but I will go elsewhere next time. I don't know how people had positive experiences here.

It’s true, this location really does have a “dirty” feel to it. Floor is unswept, chairs are old, the vials and needles are a mess on their desks, but I went here out of urgency and convenience. I made an appointment and was served within 5 mins of walking in. They were not busy on a weekday lunchtime. I don’t know the name of my nurse but I have to say it was the LEAST painful blood draw I’ve ever had, for that I’ll bump it up another star. If you have another LL to go to, go. But if this is your last option, might as well try this location.

Left immediately- I would not undergo testing at this facility under any circumstances.

The place was dirty -absolutely unsanitary with overflowing medical waste bins. The facility was dated and in desperate need of renovation- stalls were open so patients had absolutely no privacy. The neighbourhood was unsafe even during daylight hours.

Shocked and appalled that this is a service that is apparently customer centric -why would anyone go to get medical care at a facility that is unsanitary and unsafe? Appalling.

Beware of this lady “Rosaline”. She doesn’t have compassion or manners, doesn’t know how to talk to a client. Rest of the staff is wonderful. Had great experience there twice but Rosaline ruined it all, will never return to this place just because of her behaviour. She didn’t give proper instructions to prepare for the test I had to call customer care thrice. I lost my efforts of 4 days but all in vain just because of her arrogance and ignorance. She is very short tempered, keeps complaining always. I don’t understand how they hire people like her.
