Possibly understaffed. There were 3 staff on site: one impolite, one incompetent, and one indifferent. There were least 10 people in the waiting room at all times, and sometimes the line was so long it blocked the exit.
I arrived at 11: 15am for an 11: 30am appointment and was not seen until almost 12pm. They could not find my requisition, which was faxed one day prior by my RPN, so I had to call my RPN so she could email the requisition to me and then I could email the requisition to them.

Convenience location for those who live in the area but terrible customer service from the front desk staff. It seems to be the same person at the front desk (the blond lady, I think her name is Brigitte). It’s the second time I visit this place and each time she is rude and loud. Far from what you expect from someone dealing with the public, specially for people that are not feeling well, elders, people with language barriers and other health issues / disabilities - to my surprise, I just saw there are multiple reviews on the same note about the same person. Makes you wonder if the company even reads these.

Nice people but drawing blood was a disaster. Left my arm bruised, see photo. Never had this before in my 40+ years. Never going back to this location again. Should've looked but needles are not my thing. Either error or incompetence. It was an older blonde hair white woman.

Avoid this location at all costs!
Incredibly rude and unfriendly front desk staff. The type that do not lift their heads from their paperwork as they speak to you!
Appointments mean absolutely nothing to these people. I approached the staff after 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment and when I asked to find out how much longer, was told there were still a number of people ahead of me at which point I left.
These people deserve “zero stars”

ZERO STAR. EVEN IF I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT I NEED TO WAIT FOR AN HOUR TO DO MY BLOOD WORKS. THE LADIES IN FRONT DESK IS VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! LIFELAB SHOULD NEED TO TAKE AN ACTION OF THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOUR. THEY NEED TO HIRE MORE PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY ARE OVERWHELMED AND OVERWORKED.

I was nervous about visiting this lab given the bad reviews; but I had no complains. Efficient service, especially with an appointment. I went 10 minutes before my appointment time, and was seen after a 5 minute wait. I was given access to my lab results online within 24 hours.

Quick bloodwork and results. No appointment needed; go when it’s not busy. I was out in 10 minutes. I barely felt the needle by the phlebotomist. Calling customer service for my lab visit number took longer, about 20 mins to speak with an agent. Lab results were ready the next day and easily viewed online after creating an account.

A Filipino lab nurse collected two tubes of my blood. I went back home. Then, she called me and refused to process my blood saying I should have come Mon-Wed! She did not even apologize.

I strolled in 9: 15am to get some routine blood work and was met by extremely rude staff. Specifically the blonde woman who seems to work the front. There was no reason to start off the intersection like that. I wouldn’t come on here to leave a review regarding wait time or something like that. But this was nonsense. Not surprised to see I’m not the first to leave this exact review. I’ll just walk to a different one if needed again. No thanks

I went there for a blood test. An Asian lab nurse with short hair was taking my blood. I noticed that she was wearing the same gloves touching all her drawers and paperwork, then picking up test tubes and do my blood work. I mentioned to her my veins are very tiny and needs the smallest needle. She was very nude and ignored my concerns and quickly poked a needle into my blood veins, it was very painful and left bruises after. I will never return to this lab, it’s a nightmare!

Been to this location a couple times now and it's been fine. I book my appointments online via the LifeLabs site, which is great because I can also view my report online after (usually the following day). The first experience of bloodwork ended up bruising, but my more recent visit was painless and bruise-free. Total wait time including in the cubicle has been about half an hour, quite reasonable.

So far it is better than before. Not the best but it's convenient and the staffs are friendly. Never had any bad experiences. The waiting time is an average 20min most of the time I visited there.

The Asian filipino lady at the front is very rude and unprofessional. I was wearing a mask and didn’t pay attention.my mask came down to my nose and she had the audacity to tell I’m playing with her. She was literally like ‘Are you playing with me’. She can’t talk to customers like that as an employee. It’s her workplace, she should know how to behave like a human. I don’t understand why management is not taking any actions against her. She should’ve been fired already. How can she tell customers ‘are you playing with me over a small thing.

Been here three times now for both blood and urine samples. Nurses were efficient. Some are more chatty and friendly while others are no nonsense. Don't take it personally. Arrive 10mins before your appointment as there may be a line to check in.

Staff at this location are consistently rude, dismissive and unkind. Management should seriously consider a review of their customer service protocols. If you’re looking for professional care, do not attend this lab.

I have never had a bad experience using LifeLabs. But this time i decided to use the location at Sherbourne and Bloor. The receptionist lady (with blond hair) is very unwelcoming. Rudest attitude towards customers and her own collegues. Very unprofessional behaviour for someone working in custoner service she seems to get upset for everything. Talks to customers and staff in a very condescending way. Total lack of customer service skills. The rest of the staff at this location seems to be frienldy and be nice to customers except her. She made my visit to the lab unpleasant.

No signage in building or on the second floor to the location of the laboratory. Lerma at the front desk is one of the nastiest, cruelest people I have ever met. "I didn't hear you because I am very busy" is not something you ever say to someone in a professional environment. I'd give this place zero stars, but at least Winnifred was very pleasant. Lerma is so awful that she misspelled my last name. How disrespectful can you get?

Honestly, can any other business get worse general review like this place and still stay in business? Obviously, they don’t care! They made me wait more than 30 minutes behind my appointment, then they told me they don’t have the machine. I claimed I would write a bad review, 2 minutes later, they told me they got a machine. The staffs are rude, unorganized, and verbally abuse customers if they ask a couple of questions. It’s scary they test our blood, our hearts and other essential health factors.

Early to my appointment, but somehow ended up waiting for nearly an hour thereafter. Incredibly disorganized and understaffed LifeLabs location. Can clearly tell it impacts the attitude of some of the nurses. Save yourself the hassle (and potential snarkiness from the workers) and go elsewhere.

Very helpful and friendly staffs. It's a Friday afternoon at 3pm and there were no customer at the lab. I guess the afternoon slots are less busy than morning one. I just had a query on the blood work which I am supposed to do a week later; and receptionist explained me everything in details. What a nice service Thanks

Had a picture of my scheduled appointment for Dec. 6 that I brought with me in my phone in case I needed to show proof if for some reason I didn't have email verification as an alternative. It turns out I didn't have verification in my phone since I wasn't sent proof. Was turned away despite the photo which would've been good enough for me. I've worked facing the public before, and the best customer service would've been to squeeze me in. Blood work only takes about five minutes. I've had problems with this lifelabs before and won't be returning. They need to be better taught in how to accommodate. I'm very disappointed

Absolutely the worst LifeLabs experience I ever had. Terribly understaffed, no apologies or explanation for making clients wait over an hour past their appointment time, rude to clients, and the epitome of inefficient.
The worst of it all? My samples were apparently not even processed (they lost them?) and I have to go do all the tests again.

Been here a couple of times and no issue so far, waiting times a relative to other locations and staff is very professional. Only thing I did notice is that the lobby is a little small so it can get a little chaotic but that's just how the building is.

Booked an appointment for 1: 30. They're over an hour behind (seeing people who had appointments at 12: 30) and have walk-ins randomly slotting in as well. Frustrating experience - especially seeing random walk-ins getting seen before me.

Went in for labs today. Things were organized and efficient (I thought). However later in the day I was called repeatedly from a blocked number, and was asked to come back tomorrow without an appointment to redo my labs. This has never happened to me before. Can the pandemic explain this? Unlikely. Another thing. The blond lady mentioned in many of the reviews here, speaks to patients like a military drill instructor. It's not personal. I also saw her mistreat a french language speaker with a hearing impairment who could not respond effectively to her angry commands. The AODA applies, and while she definitely is doing her job well, there is an entire layer of attitude and tone that is totally unnecessary. Her role and this location could definitely do without the 'tude and 'tone.

I honestly didn’t expect this location to be this bad. I thought maybe the reviews were being a little dramatic, but the way the staff treats patients, ESPECIALLY the elderly, is horrible. Yelling at people, rudeness and attitude. The staff themselves argued the whole time. Avoid this location if you can.

The 600 Sherbourne St.location is like going into a room full of robots.
Not only have they lost blood work, "results pending" after more than a week, they have done the wrong tests resulting in re-doing the blood work twice now. Save yourself time and bruises in your arms and go to another location.

Absolutely the worst lab. The older woman coordinating clients is rude. She explained to a family with a sick baby accompanied by a nurse looking for an emergency requisition that they were going home soon, it was 30 minutes to close. She took the request, but needed to complain to the clients first, just to get it off her chest. At any given time there were more technicians in there than clients. One taken to a cubicle getting your test took 15 mins, because the staff are either new or don't know how to read the paperwork. I miss my old one person nurse at 410 Sherborne that processed twice as many client than the half dozen at this place.
Shame on you life labs! In the end you are government/ society paid.

Avoid this location at all costs.

I’m not sure how there are so many negative reviews. It seems like there is one or two people who are negatively contributing to this location’s reputation.

For me, I had a great experience. There wasn’t a long line and my appointment started at the scheduled time. I had some issues after my blood was removed and the nurses were very kind and helpful.

Worse lab ever, I had an appointment at 4: 20 and i was waiting for more than one hour with no COVID-19 mesure, you are waiting all this time on a hallways crowded with 10 people and nobody care about your safety when you finally enter there is an other line inside where you wait again for at least 30mn. I remember all of this with an appointment at 4: 20! Scandalous

I have been to this lab in the past and the service was ok. But there was this white older female receptionist (she’s got blond hair) at around 2: 20 pm there today who was full of attitude, didn’t greet me, and while I was patiently waiting to see if my requisition was faxed in (remember that she didn’t even acknowledge me at all the whole time I was standing in front of her), she rudely asked if someone told me to stand there. Where else am I supposed to be? She must not enjoy working there.

I also was advised by my doctor to call a few days before my appointment to see if the requisition was faxed in. I called multiple times but always got the message that they aren’t taking calls due to being busy. *rolls eyes*

This same receptionist that I am describing is the same woman who barked at me back in December when I thought I could go directly into the lab. There was no sign saying that there was a line-up to get in. She set a negative tone to my experience there.

On that same day in December, I noticed that her attitude turned 180 when she was doing blood work for a patient. He told her that he can get queasy from the blood work and surprisingly, she was very nice to him and told him to wait in a different room for a bit and explained the procedures in detail to him to prevent him from fainting. She was also very nice to me when she assisted me.

So I don’t understand her sudden shift in service. She needs to seek some professional help ‘cause she doesn’t know how to regulate her emotions and mood.

I can see why this lab location received such a low rating now.

Please treat your patients with dignity and consideration. We don’t want to be here either.

I had recently visited this location for the first time ever, to have some blood work done. I was hoping that since this is a health care office, they would provide treatment to service users with dignity, respect and compassion. However, I among many other people who were waiting in line, were met with an unprofessional tone, lack of respect along with a demeaning and condescending attitude from the front desk receptionist. As someone who witnessed multiple people get verbally harassed by a Life Lab employee, I could not help but ask myself, how can this person be employed, let alone, be responsible for greeting/welcoming individuals into the centre to conduct their intake. I tried calling the number to make a complaint, but the number isn’t even receiving phone calls. So good work Life Labs. It seems you are trying to not make yourselves accountable to the people you serve.

When I had approached the desk, the lady had essentially yelled at me, then proceeded to tell me the situation isn’t funny, because she “thought” I was happy. In fact, I was taken back, if not traumatized that a person who I assumed has been in the field for a few decades, can treat service users/clients like garbage openly in public. The lady had told me “This isn’t funny, many people are dying”. Which I do not know why that response was warranted. My 86-year-old grandmother had passed away in England 2 weeks prior to this, because of the lockdowns and not having access to cancer treatment. So, for this lady to project her ridiculous views on people was unacceptable. I work in mental health, and I would never speak to someone like that ever, and as a black man, I know for a fact, I would be fired if I ever spoke to a service user/client the way this lady did.

My advice to Life Labs at the Sherbourne location, fire that person. Because I know there are many newly graduated students who would gladly take her job for less pay. That person created a hostile environment that left everyone feeling uncomfortable. When people access services like health care, they do not expect someone to treat them as rudely as she did. She yelled at seniors, she yelled at adults, and it seemed like there was nobody shouldn’t be condescending too. I do not know what exactly your problem lady is, but you need to retire. Or if you are having a bad day, leave it outside of work. Be professional like everyone else. The incident I, along with many other people, experienced at this location should have never happened to anyone. I am 100% shocked that someone can work there and treat individuals like trash (in HEALTH CARE).

I really hope that the employee decides to attend some sort of anger management class/course, or at least, develop ways of effectively practising self-care techniques so she doesn’t take out her personal frustrations on clients/patients. Absolutely disrespectful, a disgrace to the health care field. I would have spoken back to her on the spot, but honestly, I was soooo shocked at how she was speaking to me. With her sense entitlement, like she was doing people a favour by yelling at them and being rude. No way Miss. Treat people better, and like I said before, if you are having a bad day, I think it would be in your best interests if you asked for personal time off. Don’t drag people into your toxic world.

If i could, I would have given this location negative stars because of the receptionist alone.

Sherborne location was chaos today; I had an appointment but they were still on peoples' appointments 45 min before me, and taking walk-ins even though the signs and website clearly stated an appointment was required. The line filled the entire hall and did not feel safe. I did not receive a lab visit number, and have been on hold for 45 min trying to get it from the customer service line, with no success. Woman who took the blood and covid-screened me was very nice, but looked exhausted.

Appointment only due to COVID. I had the best experience here. I suffer from a fear of blood, and faint every time I have a blood test. My nurse, Rachel was amazing. She was super nice and warm to me. I felt faint after my test and so she immediately took care of me with an ice pack and allowed me to lie down on the bed in the back of the clinic. Thank you to Rachel for making my experience comforting.

Every single time we have come to this place there is always an issue. We booked at this location because our OB doctor is in the same building.the first time we had to wait for a staff member that was actually able to do the blood test after one had already failed literally poking the needle around in the arm multiple times. We are not even asking people to be nice but at least professional.

Going forward we will never come back to lifelabs even if it was our last means I will take the blood myself.

Great place and very nice understanding staff in these troubled times. Was there 2 days ago and the line up was quiet long. Listened to one of the staff asking each person do you have an appointment. No one did but a couple. It's actually very easy and convenient to go online and setup a day and time to go in. You will go to the front of the line inside and get a seat. So much easier than standing out in the hallway and slowing down the process.

I visited this location for the first time today. The technicians were polite, professional and efficient (I was in and out in 15 min). They explained the procedures to me, as they did with two other patients. All of the COVID protocols were in place. I saw nothing to warrant a negative review of this location.

I had a big drama this week at the lab! I had to go for my second blood test along with urine test after a week, I’ve received my requisition from my doctor and emailed it to the lab (as they instructed and I’ve done that a week before) but they mistakenly printed my last week requisition and repeated my last week blood test again! I told the lady that I’m sure urine test was part of this week test but she impatiently refused my concern and said that’s all you needed to do! The day after my doctor called me and said you haven’t done the test that you have been asked for! I went back to the lab early morning and told them that you’ve taken a wrong test but they didn’t admit it and started yelling at me that why you are complaining and you have too book another appointment to do your test! The staff are so rude, irresponsible and impatient. I felt terrible they didn’t accept doing my test after all the time that I waisted there and kicked me out. I won’t go to that lab never again. The worst experience ever.

Terrible staff, rude and are not strict with the covid rules. They allow crowding, don't enforce mask rules and don't clean seating between uses. I've never been talked down to and made to feel so small by a lab tech before. It's a stressful job no doubt but you need to improve your vulnerable client management skills.

Zero rate if I could. Staff very rude and unprofessional. One of the staff yelled at me early morning because I asked her “ why do you send some one in at 9am whereases she has appointment at 9: 30 instead of me because my name is on the board and this is my turn”
She started off with” this is my job and does not matter what time she has appointment and yelling at me”
Other people was waiting in a very long line and she said I do not care.
I do not recommend anyone to go to this location and absolutely I will not come back again at this location.

Went for a blood test at Lifelabs at 600 Sherbourne. This location SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO IMPROVE THE WAY THEY INFORM PATIENTS OF THE PROCEDURES TO AVOID CONFUSION. Please put a sign on the door to clarify what a patient needs to do if they already booked an appointment online for that day. People need to be informed that priority will be given to people who have previously booked online appointment over those walk-in patients. I arrived in time for my appointment but was yelled at by walk-in people who thought I was cutting in line. This is such a horrible experience. There were also people who were still lined up in the hallway, way past their booked appointment time, as they didn’t know they had to inform the lab staff that they had pre-booked an appointment. Other than that, staff service was OK but, please let people know what the procedures are to avoid misunderstanding and prevent this aggravation.

I decided to go here because this was the only place open until 2.00 P. M.

I regret that I went now. The lady in the front is extremely rude and offensive and shouts at every person coming through the door.

I do not know how could they hire such disgusting people for healthcare services.

She was specifically rude to immigrants like me which I quickly noticed. (No, she's not White!)

Please avoid this place, and if you can't, be ready to defend yourself against this horrible person.

Please don’t go there and upset yourself. That lady act like she owns the place or she is doing work for free, ridiculous hate her. Like many others I'm sure, I have a phobia of bloodwork that creates severe anxiety and sometimes causes me to pass out during or after appts. It has become a real problem recently as I've needed regular tests, with the anxiety becoming worse each time. I had the good fortune of winding up at Sherbourne clinic this weekend, where I was helped by Bridgette. She clearly excels at the technical aspects of her job (it was quick and entirely painless), but is also a highly compassionate person. She knew exactly what to say and do to make the process a less horrible one and I had my first ever "pleasant" experience at a lab. I would highly recommend this clinic and Bridgette specifically to anyone who has the same problem. Thank you!

Very rude staff. 3 out of 4 are extremely rude. They hate their job. If they have problem with their life, they should keep it in their home and should not bring it to the work place. Not sure why they are working in this field. If they do not want to help people.they should go to work in other field.

Ive been here 5 times and this is the most painful blood taking place ive ever experienced, they don't do it with any care or precision. My arm looks like it has a small cut instead of just a dot from the needle, and moving my arm doesnt feel pleasant. Also the staff moves suuuuper slow. I recommend u go somewhere else for needle work, unless you like the pain from a needle moving inside of your vein.
