I had an incredibly frustrating experience at Lifelab recently, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment. On December 20th, 2023, my girlfriend and I visited the facility, only to be met with a series of unprofessional and inconsiderate actions from one of the front desk staff, a blonde woman.

Firstly, we were made to wait for an absurdly long time—over an hour and a half past our appointment time. Despite approaching the front desk twice to inquire about the delay, we were dismissively told to continue waiting. It wasn't until we took matters into our own hands that we discovered people who arrived after us, without appointments, had already been serviced.

Moreover, after submitting our health cards, this particular staff member failed to print the necessary materials for our blood test. This oversight not only wasted our time but also compelled us to take an unplanned leave from work, causing further inconvenience.

The lack of professionalism and efficiency displayed by this employee is unacceptable. I strongly advise Lifelab to address these issues promptly to ensure a more positive experience for its patrons.

I was a walk in and the reception refuses to let me register saying I have no appointment. But the website says taking walk-in

Really disappointed with this location. The tech at the front desk was unprofessional. They should be able to accommodate patients walking in at any time. They were all over the place, very unorganized and had 3 different techs trying to figure out what to do with the paperwork. The techs were speaking in a different language and were making fun of the amount of tubes they had to collect from me. I felt very disrespected and will definitely not be coming back to this location.

The attitude of the men at the front desk is particularly bad, as if they have returned to the Cultural Revolution period in mainland China. The feeling of having to work for money, but the extreme aversion to the work itself, and the disrespect of treating all living beings as worthless, are very, very uncomfortable. But the ladies who took the blood were very nice. Both the Chinese and the Indians were civilized and kind. I seriously complained about the cold-faced Mr.who registered at the front desk. My suggestion is that if you don't like this job, you can quit it. Why bother to make yourself and others unhappy. I think half of the lab's 3-point rating is due to this man.

I usually don’t defend businesses like this, but I see that these comments are extremely exaggerated and unfair. Maybe I got lucky with my visit, but I didn’t see any abnormal behaviour. I had an appointment for 9: 20AM, arrived at 9: 05, there were around 15 ppl there, however they took me in 2 minutes later, so 9: 07 (13 mins before appointment). The receptionists and the nurse were really nice, no extra talk but didn’t feel like I’m with a robot. My mistake though was using the bathroom before coming, otherwise everything would’ve taken under five minutes. As for walk ins, the screen says estimated wait time is 60 minutes, but I saw people wait time only get to under 30 minutes, they were put in between appointments. So to conclude the time management of this Lab is on spot. I recommend

Worse life lab location. Time has no value here. Instead, organize and give numbers. There is no sequence for your appointment. All depends on your luck.

After 4 times of being here, I have never had a bad experience at this LifeLabs location. I get my blood collected here and the receptionist and nurses are kind and efficient. I’m usually in and out within 10 minutes during non-peak times.

Place was closing at 3: 30, I came in at 2: 50 and they’ve taken my blood and urine sample and I’m out by 3: 10. Great service, very fast and efficient. Male nurse doing my testing also showed me how to search up my results online. Thanks!

The Asian lady that works as reception/lab technician is extremely rude - mocks patients when they ask about wait time and speaks such a demeaning tone. Please don’t work in healthcare if you don’t have patience

Bad management. There is no point for you to make an appointment! They didn’t honor the time! Walk ins still be in called in front of you. Maybe that is good for walk in patients. But I will not go there anymore.

I have visited this lab regularly for bloodwork in the past two years. Service is excellent. The staff are nice and efficient. Walk-ins welcome and the wait time is reasonable. I like how the screen in the waiting room displays a current average wait time and shows who is next in line. Plenty of parking available.

Not sure why so many people have left negative reviews here.

Too poor service, went there for the blood test, front desk ask me to sit for 30 min around, waited for 45 min and asked about the wait time.she replied could be 1 hour extra, I don't know! Haha is this a service!

If i could i would totally give 0 star. This location has the most worse and rude client service! The asian lady at the front desk who was "giving" me instructions was so rude and unprofessional. The tone she talked was very disrespectful!

Amazing staff! It does get busy but I went pretty early to avoid that. The technicians tries their best to accommodate everyone. Had a wonderful experience.

I went to the lab at 8: 15 am today, there was a small line. The guy who works at the lab was checking people in. I told him I don't have an appointment, without saying anything he went inside. I asked how to book an appointment, he completely ignored & went inside! What kind of client service is this? Ignorant & rude. Worst place I've ever seen!

I was a little scared after reading these reviews, but my daughter needed blood work done and this was the location with availability. Her appointment was 12: 50pm, we went in 10 minutes as instructed. There were just 3 other people inside, no waiting in line or anything. This location is by appointment only and I appreciate that, because no more people waiting in queues in tight spaces.

The check-in/registration was easy and the staff was polite and very nice. The lady who drew my daughter's blood was experienced, found the vein right away and my daughter, who is very squeamish and her first time getting blood work done, was completely at ease with this nice lady. Anyway, we were out by 12: 54pm, so perfectly on time and efficient.

Oh, the staff is obviously overworked-one asked the other to work during his lunch and he didn't hesitate to say yes. When we left the staff even wished us happy holidays. I would come back to this location again because the one in Pickering is not good, the staff there never found my vein without poking me at least 5 times.

Thank you for a very good, easy experience and I hope the staff gets a nice holiday break, they deserve it.

Have you ever tried calling them? I have been trying for 3 weeks now, both after midnight and in the morning, daytime - same thing! Nobody ever answers and their automated wait time response is horrific! How do they still operate? How do people trust such a shady service? I am beyond irritated!

We went to this lab last week and went again today Oct 4,2021 at 9am for walk-in, the staffs are extremely rude and with attitude all the time, they yelled at other customers all the time!
Definitely my whole family won't go to this lab anymore

Pretty disappointed about the service. Hadto wait an hour even with the appointment. No explanation and apology for the delay. It is under 10 degree and people had to wait outside.

The staff at this place are amazing. My chemo-depleted veins need lots of care when drawing blood, and everyone was so kind.

I booked a appointment at 11: 45. I arrived at 11: 35 and submitted the test form. I waited less than 5 minutes. The staff was professional. No pain when she took the blood sample. I definitely will go back to this lab for future test.

Especially at a time like this, it is hard for people to get out of their homes. However, this place really made my day. They have an appointment system which helps control the people in the building. Staff are organized, has a lady at the counter checking people in while others are taking people into the rooms. Quick and great service, will become my go to lab.

Workers of this lab are too busy to breathe during the pandemic time. Some patients are rude to them.very sad seeing that. Remind patients to be patient and follow their rules: make appointment before coming.

Lady was very rude and incompetence. They are accepting electronic requisition but she denied because their printer is not working. They don't want to get print from outside since we loose our appointment. What a waste of time! Why does she has too much attitude?

I took an appointment online and my job was done in a timely manner. This place is usually busy and in order to avoid waiting you should take appointment online.

Avoid at all cost! A few days after I did my blood test I noticed severe bruising on my arm. The matter was concerning as none of my friends had experience anything like it when they did their physical. I went straight to the doctor the following week and he explained to me that a vessel was ruptured which caused severe bruising and bleeding internally. I've done blood work in the past and never have I experienced something so painful.

Been at this lab a few times, short wait time, staff are polite. Waiting area feel clean. Short wait time even there seems to be lots of people. Last visit they have a screen showing estimated wait time for each person. And you can book an appointment online or using an app.

The staff who took sample are amazing, doesn't feel a thing! For sure I will recommend my friends and family if they need to take samples.

Seeing some of the negative reviews here I guess I lucked out. I got there at around 3.30 for a blood test since I didn't have to be fasting. There was only one customer ahead of me and it was pretty quick considering the technician Barry was doing both jobs, managing reception and drawing blood.and he still managed to be polite and cheerful.
The best part of my experience was the painless way in which Barry drew blood. I didn't feel a thing even when he was changing vials.
I think henceforth I will only go to this location and pray that I get that same guy.

I very seldomly give poor reviews, but please for your sake, do not attend this life labs. Even if it's a more convenient location. I understand that it gets busy, and that'll often affect customer service, but being belittled and made fun of is beyond poor customer service. Fair warning to anyone looking for a life labs in the area.

Obviously not all techs are bad, and there are some people who have nothing but good experiences the few times they go. But why gamble on whether you're going to be treated like a piece of trash when you can just drive a few minutes further, wait less time, and be treated like a person.

If you are looking for decent customer service, proper treatment and a good environment then do NOT come here.
The service here is awful. One lady at reception was rude to everyone who came in after I had arrived and the nurses who take your blood are extremely rude.
One of the women had groaned and mocked a child trying to make his way over to her and then rolled her eyes and spoke extremely rude to the child.
Worst service I've seen in awhile.

Probably the worst lifelabs ever. The lady poked me thrice and still couldn’t draw blood plus kept yelling at other people there. She was about to go for another attempt but had to stop her, another lady came in and said if she can draw blood I was hesitant though I still told her to go ahead and at least she was able to do it. I have never ever experienced this before in any of the lifelabs I have been to.

I booked an appt for 10am and arrived early. Walked up to counter but she barked at me to wait at the marked sign.the rudeness caught me off guard b/c last visit here was good. So I went to sit down and then she BARKED at me AGAIN to NOT sit down! Hitler! My bad that I didn’t read the sign, nor did I see the “stand here” marker on the floor, but no need to be SO rude in a healthcare setting! They’re very strict at airport immigration and customs, but this is healthcare! I’ll still come back because they’re generally efficient, but don’t expect any human touch here.it’s only our blood!

I understand the issues some face coming here - my experience was I came here at 7: 30am Saturday morning - already line-up of 6 people, I was 7th. We get in, give Health Card, and are seated. The #1 thing I think people have issue with is the nurse at the desk's question "Have you had anything to eat or drink in the past whatever hours? " - then if so "How many hours ago was that? " - I get it - many ppl don't know the exact time they ate dinner the night before. I saw many older patients get very frustrated with this exchange, with some snide remarks and attitudes coming out of both sides - and it's so unneeded really. I completely understand the repetitiveness of the question from an admin side - but I feel some compassion could help things go smoother, especially for seniors and/or those whose first language is not english.

ALSO - this place is in the business of drawing blood with a hypodermic needle which obviously requires penetration of a foreign object through your skin and into your vein - it's not like getting a hair cut - the staff is not intentionally trying to upset you, give you a scar, or otherwise - its going to hurt one way or another! KEEP THAT IN MIND for any blood clinic.

I was kinda hesistant to go to this location because of the low ratings. But this was one of two labs my doctor told me to go to for blood work and this one was closer so I braced it.

I went in around 2 and there was only one person in the waiting room. The receptionist greeted me but didn't actually attend to me till after she was done all her paperwork.whatever.

I didn't have to wait long to get into the little room. Things were clean enough and the nurse who took my blood was quick. She didnt make much small talk but I didn't want any. She even told me I could get my results online instead of waiting for my doctor if i wanted. She gave me the info I needed for that which is nice.

I guess I lucked out?

Rainy Saturday - at 9: 15went to 2 Lifelabs locations - 1100 Sheppard (wait of one hour) 5 Fairview Mall Drive (wait of 70-90 min) - Drove to this location — got in office at 9: 40 out by 9: 51 - Receptionist - good, blood taken by Raisa - excellent — apparently the location was very busy before 9: 30 and now at 10 more patients but still nowhere near the line ups at other two locations — would have given 4 stars for very good (didn’t like that room had nowhere to place my coat/purse- no hanger/ledge) but the 1 star review given for the terrible driving of a Lifelabs driver does not reflect this office, so gave it a 5 to make up for that —
