I have been there three times. So far had a very bad experience. The waiting time is so long before check-in. The issue is that there is only one reception window with the shared functions of check-in, make payment and question inquiry. Also, there is no dedicated receptionist and it all depends on the nurse whoever is free. When all of them are busy with conducting the test, no one will take care of patient check-in. What makes things worse, a lot of walk in patients who does not appointment but waiting in the same line as the others do have. The nurse won’t separate patient into two different groups until people get upset. Every time is like that, unless somebody is complaining, then they will check who has appointment and who does not. They really need to open another window, have a dedicated receptionist for checking in, and fix the check in process.
This is worst lab centre. No manners, no courtesy employees. No proper updates given. If they can’t accommodate walk ins, it should be updated promptly. Make patients to wait hours together.
I’m surprised to see so many negative reviews. If you don’t have an appointment and it’s a busy location of course, you have to wait almost 2 hours. It’s not the lab’s fault why would you guys give them 1 star I don’t get it. I frequently use this location to do my bloodwork and always have a great experience. Yes, sometimes I have to wait even though I have a booked appointment but only 10 minutes maximum, so not a big deal. All the nurses are good too! Keep it up!
The lifeLabs at 5 Fairview mall the people are nice and hardly working but the toilets are SO BAD and DIRTY I couldn't imagine that No SUPPLIES, they wrote in the toilet ask for supplies if you want Unfortunately Bad experience regarding toilets That's why it's double stars only
Very friendly lab nurse Ms. Esther? Handled the blood test in a patient and caring manner. Made me feel at ease while taking blood sample though t was hard finding my vein. Thankful to her
I have never have to wait for 4 hours for a blood test. Then, still not done, Finally I asked for a refund and left very hungry and tired. Seriously, your time is valueable. Don't go here.
Receptionist are rude…they have to go back to school and study AGAIN the basic knowledge on how to deal with patients in a PROFESSIONAL MANNER. Technicians are good.
Lucena Singh is a gem! I am always nervous when having blood drawn. I previously had a bad experience getting blood work done by someone who was in training at a different LifeLabs location. Lucena made me feel at ease. I felt no pain, and had NO bruising, didn't even realize when it was all over. Lucena is FANTASTIC, and i'm a FAN!
People are honest and support desk is cooperative. Owner is polite and always delivers in time and reliable lab equipment, personally thankful to all you.
Awful! I don’t even know why I ignored the reviews and booked an appointment here, it’s the worst experience I’ve ever had. Waiting for 30 min after appointment time. Staff is not helpful, they seen disoriented and don’t care about the customers.
Lucena Singh was the most patient, kind and professional nurse. Having hard to find veins, I am always nervous when having blood drawn.but Lucena went above and beyond to make it not only successful but pleasant as well with not too much trouble.
This location sees people quickly.they open at 8 am on Saturday and the line forms quickly.but it's worth it to come to this location
It’s unfortunate that I can’t give 0 stars. I understand that this place gets busy, but the lack of communication to the people waiting and the disorganized environment makes almost every experience here unpleasant. I would recommend the LifeLabs near Leslie street. Their customer service is much better in my experience.
No point booking an appointment still have to wait! I asked the reception desk and my paper is behind then they put it in front of someone. After check in follow up yourself, they don't care you booked appointment.
I have been to this location 5 times in the last year. The staff is professional and efficient. In 100% of my visits I saw people skip the line, refuse to wear masks, demand immediate service, and be generally unruly to the staff. The staff are over worked and underpaid. Show some respect, the world doesn’t revolve around you.
Even accounting the safety protocols, things seems very inefficient around this clinic, the blood work I had was one of the most painful one compare to the other location I had, I wound not recommend this location to anyone
Avoid this location! The staff are very unorganized and have no clue what they are doing. They couldn't find my requisition when I went in, meaning I had to go home, call my Dr to get it sent again and come back but while I'm on the phone with my Dr the lab calls me to say they suddenly found it! The technicians also don't give you the proper instructions when they supply you with the take home tests. I've had to do the same test over 6 times recently and they call me to say the latest sample was done incorrectly, meaning apparently it's been done wrong the whole time and I need to re do it. I call my Dr to ask about this and they confirm it's the labs responsibility to let patients know how the tests should be administered but the rude woman behind the desk tried to blame it on my Dr. To cap it all off there's no enforcement of social distancing by the staff, arrived to find 6 people crammed into the tiny waiting room and one smart guy waiting outside. Save yourself the stress and go to another clinic where they take people's safety and time seriously.
When entering the building through the main doors make a right down the first corridor and the clinic is located on the left after the dental office. About the parking situation: there is a paid parking lot for the building but Fairview Mall is right beside the medical building so it’s possible to walk over from there.
I walked up to the counter to let them know I was here for my appointment but there wasn’t anyone there. Staff kept coming and going but no one stayed at the desk until I had waited close to 10 minutes. I inquired if I had to check in for my appointment and the woman, very rudely, told me of course I had to. Well, if there was someone there I could’ve checked in 10 minutes before. I could tell the staff were frazzled but that’s no way to treat someone coming into the clinic. The other lady there took my health card and form from the doctor and let me know which cubicle to wait in. The man confirmed my name and birthdate, gave back my health card and then took the samples he needed to.
I understand that clinics don’t necessarily need stellar customer service but being polite will go a long way.
I prefer to come to this location, the reception is often overwhelmed but the technicians are very good, no pain at all for the blood work. No appointment is required, you can reserve your spot using a mobile APP.
The parking for this building is not free but you can park at Fairview Mall for free and walk a bit to here
Hard to find because there are no visible signs outside or inside the building. Lifelabs is not even listed on the directory! I think there was some other lab name. Anyhow they are down the side hall by the pharmacy.
Friendly and efficient staff, for the most part. Make sure you book an appointment online, to avoid long waits.
Reception staff were really rude to a number of patients whilst I was there. I had to wait for 1 hr doing my glucose test and felt so miserable in the crowded, tiny and windowless waiting room with them.
I visited this place may be after a year and found that this facility has been renovated. The waiting area is around 7 ' x 20' with 6 sets of chairs (12 chairs in all). I found it interesting to see that each set of 2 chairs are joined to keep them from moving away. The waiting area is sandwiched between two walls (dark blue) giving a sense of tight space.
On a Saturday morning, the office was supposed to open at 8 AM but they opened may be 10 min earlier. Thank you for that. I was there by 7.30 and there were about 10 people ahead of me waiting in line. Once you enter, there is a monitor on the wall that provides an estimated wait time. Each patient takes about 3 - 4 minutes and you can monitor how long will it take for your turn to come by looking at your name in the screen (auto scrolling). I tried to book my appointment online for the blood sugar test (fasting) in the AM but the system did not provide any option to book early hours. If you are going on Saturday AM, expect to wait for an hour. The front desk staff was courteous.not rude or anything.and the nurse who took my blood (Cyrstal) was friendly, and professional. She checked papers, took three vials of blood, no pain while pricking.
There is a constant stream of patients and i think the staff are heads down to clear as fast as they could. They are dealing with some of the people with various levels of challenges and that could be a drain on their energy. Could they be more friendly given their training and profession.yes.did i find anyone being rude. No. But overall it was OK experience (as much as a hospital or clinic visit could be). Take a book or something to keep you occupied while you wait. Note. There is ample parking.you have to pay $2.50 for 30 min. Otherwise, after 9 AM you can park free in the fairview mall parking lot and walk to the clinic. No Parking validation. Has Wheel chair access.
I really think in medical part of front line receptionist or nurse has to change their attitude. They would have some excuse about their bad attitude and I do understand they are dealing everyday with sick people. So might tired and not enjoy on the job! Then, They supposed not work there. The job requires to take care of sick people. That means at least, put some smile on your face and eye contact with patients who visit there. And listen even they are not properly speak English. You treat people like nobody. That is not right! The receptionists saw the patient but she was busy to talk gossip each other, ignorance of patient who stood there for 5m, didnot say “wait for minute “ just look and talked and talked.and finally back to patient, receptionist did not eye contact, no genuine conversation, just like robot, actually worst then robot, I would rather to speak and ask to robot. Then I donot have this unpleasant feeling to deal at all. Society has to change. Especially who work in medical field. I would not go back there for my exam, never. And you are not giving free service, we as customers and sick people, provide your salary from OHIP. Better service to customers!
I went with my pregnant wife to take a blood exam on a Saturday (July 21,2018) and came back without doing anything.
I got at the lab at exactly 13: 35 PM to find the doors closed.on the wall it says work hours from 8 to 2pm, so I knocked the door and a very rude woman open the door and say that they were closed.so I asked her why because is not 2pm yet, she replied that ON HER CLOCK IT WAS 2PM, and she shutted the door.it is sad that LifeLabs hires people like this to work direct with other people, their customers.this just show that LifeLabs does not care about their customers.if you can, choose another lab to do your exams.
This place is a disaster. They are renovating and moved temporarily to a small room on the 4th floor with no AC. It has 6-7 seats and when we went there on a Tuesday morning there were 30 people in line. Pregnant women sitting on the floor in the hallway, children and elderly people waiting for HOURS. It took a little under 2 hours to get a blood test. The poor employees are overwhelmed and their equipment doesn’t work half the time. The only reason I gave it a 2 and not a 1 is because there were two incredible nurses who were very kind to my grandparents and I’m very grateful. I hope the renovations complete soon, because the temporary place is awful and the parking cost me $8 because we were there for so long. I hope this helps someone, to wait until the renovations are done before coming here.
The staff maybe too busy that they have no value for another person's time. I was waiting for a simple blood test for over 1 hour and they kept taking in other walk-in people who arrived after. They tend to forget to put people in the order of arrival so please ask how many people are ahead of you when you come in. Even though the front desk don't tell you, please be aware that you can book an appointment online from lifelabs website for the location. This will significantly reduce the waiting time.
Ok the customer service here is not good. U have to wait so long. They don have enough staff and i overheard that they lost some document of a patient so he has to visit the doctor again! I don’t know what it means seriously.waiting time people is between 1.5 to 2 hours.what i don get is this if you have demand why you don’t hire more staff and make more business.since i have no idea about regulations in this case I have no comment. Anyway if you have plenty of time go there if not go somewhere else.i learned you can book an appointment online then you will save a bit of time.
I’m new in Canada have been here for few months I was not keeping well and my doctor suggested me to take a urine test here I immediately rushed and reached life labs. I have submitted the form and gave it to the receptionist for processing my test and when she asked for my health card I told them it’s in my mobile they acted very rude and they told me to get a copy of my health card. I’m already feeling sick and it’s raining outside. I just got frustrated and I went back home disheartened because of these rude receptionist in life labs. It’s the worst experience overall.
