The staff was not respectful at all. She was very angry and treated me badly by her odd and angry looks.

The Winnie headwrap I ordered arrived yesterday, and it was exactly as I had wanted it and it fit beautifully. The staff and designer are very attentive to customers and prospective customers online - after a chat online and a phone conversation, my order was placed. I received it very soon after - great shipping. I will be ordering more in the future!

I never thought of myself as a “hat” person, but here I sit, now with four hats and two caps by Karyn and her staff!
I first stopped by Lilliput Hats on a pre-Covid visit to Toronto. Overwhelmed by the magic and artistry filling the shop on College, I left with a cap and a head full of images.
During Covid, with the border closed, I followed the creativity of the shop on facebook. My wife and I ordered a couple of hats, and several face masks.
This past February, we were able to visit Toronto once again, and made Lilliput Hats one of our “must visit” stops. This time, I went in knowing what I wanted, and although not able to take it home, I was measured and placed my order.
I also talked with Karyn about a cap I could take along when motorcycling. She helped me choose a style, and select a fabric.
Yesterday, we received our package from Toronto. My wife saw the postmark and left it for me to open, knowing my eagerness for the hats.
Excited, and ecstatic to say the least. C’mon, spring!

I purchased a used hat from Lilliput Hats. Karyn had a fundraising event with several hats to choose from (all spectacularly lovely) that went to a phenomenal cause. A few friends of mine have Lilliput hats and I fell in love the first time I saw one. This is where my hat journey begins. I’m a repeat customer of Lilliput hats and the quality and options offered at this shop are outstanding. I live outside Toronto and I’m able to arrange to have my hats delivered, which is a wonderful option for me as I have a difficult time finding hats in larger head sizes. I got tired of hats that did not fit so for at least 10 years now I’ve purchased all my hats from Lilliput Hats. Each hat is custom designed for the wearer so it fits well and looks gorgeous! My latest purchase is a travel hat in a beautiful shade of blue. These travel hats travel so well that I brought my red hat when I went to Paris several years ago. I highly recommend Karyn’s shop for anyone looking for a unique hat for any occasion. Excellent customer service makes this company easy to do business with. Exquisite store… pure eye candy! Karyn Ruiz is a master hat maker. I love her sense of play and whimsy. Not travelling during the pandemic it was a real treat to learn, through facebook, I could custom order online! Last year i ordered 4 custom hats and 3 headbands. All pieces are unique and beautifully made. From placing my order to receiving them in the mail only took a few weeks. This store is a real gem and so is the talents of its owner!

They were rude, discouraging, childish to my inquiries, and made determinations as to what is and is not a waste of time for me. I do not respond well to such behaviour. And in their fashion: it would be a waste of their time to bother responding as I spent my precious time trying to communicate that I wanted to give them the business. It seems that I am below them. I am blocking their number and email address so they won’t call me back to justify being self righteous…. Addition due to response: the first phone call was less then a minute. When you spend most of that time evading questions and giving answers which clearly indicates you don’t want me to come to you, that is not help. As to assessing who to send me to: if that was on the table it would have happened earlier in the convo instead of you avoiding direct answers to my questions. When I called back (because your number came up twice in my search) your words were ‘I hung up on you’ My reply was ‘and that was rude’. And ended the conversation. I have found the right person as I went down my list and talked to people who would converse properly. Customer service does not equal passive aggressive. Customer service equals ‘it would be better if I could see him and the hat. These are the times I could arrange. Let me know’ NOT ‘I’m in and out. It will waste yours and his time. Whatever. Bye. ’

We first discovered Lilliput hats when another Toronto hat shop closed down. As a lover of hats, we had so much fun creating custom pieces that were tailored to our individual styles. Karyn was so patient with us as we tried on various styles and selected details to finalize our designs. We loved the entire process from selecting our hat material, shape and final touches, something that we had not experienced in our previous hat purchases before finding Lilliput! Karyn and her team are true creative artists who helped us capture our unique styles, pushed us out of comfort zones and handcrafted one of a kind pieces that we will cherish. Lilliput Hats custom designed a fascinator for my daughter’s wedding. I love Karyn’s gift of creativity. I did not really know what the fascinator should be like but she did! I have also bought hats on line which are perfect, customized for me. Great store! Warning: when visiting the store be prepared to buy more than one hat! …. Because it is hard to decide!

My absolute favourite go to for all hats! I have a tiny itty bitty head and Karyn has made me numerous fun beautiful hats! I can not say enough about the quality of care and attention to detail that goes into her work. I have so many of her hats and will be a customer for life! Lilliput hats of Toronto has been my go-to Millinery for the past several years, and for good reason! Milliner and owner Karyn and her staff are knowledgeable and helpful in choosing just the right fit. I never get tired of responding to the many compliments I get when out and about the city wearing a Lilliput Hat. Behold a few of my purchases.

Good customer service from the staffers, but with every inquiry about whether they performed alterations of any kind, the owner was quick to dismiss and with little more than “no, I won’t do that” as an answer. The staffer was friendly and willing to try to address my questions, but unfortunately that’s where it would end. Staffer was great (and maybe it was just a busy day otherwise I could have received more information about why I was turned away), but it felt polarizing between the warmth of the staffer and the coldness from the owner. I’d imagine if my inquires (a minor reshape of the crown / whether I could adjust the brim / if I could swap out the hay ribbon or buy a new hat band) were outrageous or something they didn’t do, the staffer would have informed me prior to them bringing it to the owner. And perhaps the staffer was new, although they seemed very informed and knowledgeable … strange dynamic overall. But I was able to have the alterations performed nearby at another millinery, so options do exist
