Lim Ga Ne

Both my husband and i have a diarrea after eating here, its been a day and we have not gone any better. Will not come again. The food inspection agency should seriously do an inspection in this restaurant.

I got sick and tackle COVID for sometime after dining over there. I was also disappointed that there was no any fish in the menu.

Been going to this place for a long time now. Food is unbeatable, service is amazing. And the new atmosphere is an added element on top of their delicious food

The most fun I've ever had on a dining experience. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was so appropriate, and our server Andy was amazing and so accomodating

I'm a regular customer because this place always make me satisfied
Especially, Andy, the one of server, is really good! He is always kind and knows how making customers satisfied.
That's why I recommend my friends when they find a good place in the north york area.

Lim Ga Ne has always been a go to place for late night Korean food, their Soon Tofu Jigae is probably the best in the area! Also wanted to give a shout-out to Andy, he was really attentive and quick and his service was great! Always came by to ask if we needed anything, really appreciated that! Will be back soon

Wandered in since the restaurant we were planning to go to was jam packed, and I have to say we were pleasantly surprised!

Seafood pancake: one of the best I've had. Most restaurants have batter that's too dense. Lim Ga Ne's is great.
Fried boneless sweet soy chicken: lovely flavour and nice batter. Portion was too small though for $23
Pork bone soup: good, but Owl is still my favourite by far
Cold noodles: good flavour. Could have had more ingredients but still very enjoyable, especially when it's 33C out
Side dishes: good variety, loved the kimchi

I'll be back for sure!

Service at this Lim Ga Ne is not any better than the location that finally closed up on Bloor St.

The rude lady server who interrupted us while we were ordering and said “That’s too much. ” and stops writing our orders down — me and my friend we were just trying to order 4 things that day, but ended up not being allowed to. Why? Because they clearly didn’t feel like serving us anymore (mid serve too) …

What kind of business picks and chooses who they give exceptional customer service to? Truly, the only other customers that were there at the time were either Korean or light skinned Asians with their tables filled with food and better service than us… We aren’t welcome here. I would never recommend this place. I’d rather go to a food court Koryo. There are way more better tasting Korean restaurants with friendlier staff than Lim Ga Ne.

I have been a customer for more than 1 year, coming here and recommending the place for my friends. But today I experienced worst service ever. We came in, 3 people waiting at the door to be seated. Then no one give a sign of welcoming us, and we had to seat ourselves. That was fine. We saw many customers so we assumed it was busy. But TWO servers completely ignored us, even when we are waving and raising hands, and even after the other customers have left. We saw customers came in after us and got greeted. We felt discriminated, and we also work in hospitality industry. Don't tell us how busy you can be to not come and say "Give me a moment", or make some sign that you are coming. I have worked in busier times in restaurants and don't let customers hanging and leaving like this.
Won't be coming back anymore.

Some of the best teokboki (spicy rice cake) I've had! Local here, and I brought my friend here to try korean food for the first time! Got great vegetarian options and i really reccomend the kimchi pancake here too. Discount from cash. Opens late on weekends too which is a big plus! One con is that groups of 5 require gratuity but that's how it is.

Worst service I’ve ever experienced in my life today at this store. I’ve came here so many times already and today is the worst. We came into the store, there are two servers but they did not have eye contacts on us and they welcomed people who came after us. We had to find table by ourselves and waved servers. The stores was not busy at all. There are 2 servers saw my friends waving them and they did not come over. So we decided to leave. This is unacceptable If you want to grow business, you should train your staff whether in term of attitude and customer services.

I went to this restaurant with my friends and as we heard a lot of good reviews. But this is definitely a disappointment and worst service ever I have been received. When we came no one greeting and some other people came after and they passed by us to greet the one after, that moment we felt weird and so we found table ourselves and despite of waiving they didn’t bring any menu to us after 10’. I can sense the discrimination, racist toward South East Asian ethnicities, for all the Korean or Caucasian they were really happy and us were totally being ignored. I won’t recommend this place for anyone to come as services so bad and so racist

My friend, and I were looking high, and low for a Korean restaurant uptown that serves kimchi pancakes, and I am so glad to report that this restaurant near Finch makes it!

So these are savory pancakes, not like the traditional syrupy kind you would typically think of
Their kimchi pancake has no meat/fish in it so it is vegetarian-friendly
They perfectly panfry this, and cut it up into pieces for you prior to serving it to your table

This is a dish of rice cakes slathered in a spicy sauce
Usually, it is served with fish cakes mixed in, but I asked for it to be vegetarian because my friend isn't a huge fan of fishy-flavors
Definitely has a decent kick, but not too bad for me in terms if spice since I love spicy foods haha

This is a dish of deep fried pork cutlet that is served with rice
There's a delicious sauce that tops the cutlet as well
To be honest, the meat portion is quite generous if you ask meeer

Service was really kind, and quick! We dropped by around 2PM on a Thursday, and even though we ordered just as the staff was about to sit down, and eat their own lunch, our food came out super quickly!

I'll defitely be back, or at least ordering their kimchi pancake for delivery soon

Everything is very good here but the price is just a little higher than Huh Ga Ne which is nearby.

To be honest, the other food here at the restaurant is mediocre or sometimes not so good, but the tteokbokki is really good.

I also ordered tteokbokki because the delivery fee was too much to buy just one, but it tasted like spicy tteokbokki that had been boiled for a long time at rest areas or food stalls. It's a sweet and spicy tteokbokki that's different from the franchise these days.

In Canada, I hesitate to buy tteokbokki because it is expensive compared to the ingredients, but here it is worth the money!

I vomit immediately after eating if I use cheap products or eat products that have passed their expiration date. But I think Oden uses something good here. Oden tastes good too. It was worth the money!

The food was delectable and flavorful, especially the kimchi pancake and the fried chicken.

I usually go to Hu Ga Ne down the street but decided to try this place. Oh boy was. I disappointed.

They provide an array of 3 side dishes when other neighbouring Korean restaurants usually provide 5 (bean sprout, Kim chi, stir fried fish cake).

I ordered soon dae (Korean blood sausage), chicken katsu and Bo ssam (steamed pork belly).
The portions were absolutely tiny for the price I paid.
The bo ssam portions were laughable and the meat was dry. They provided 3 green lettuce to wrap which is not enough.
The katsu sauce tasted like steak sauce and actually ruined the dish a bit.
The soon dae was also dry and portions tiny.
Overall bill was close to $80+ tip

I will never eat at this restaurant again. Stay away.

Really nice soups and tasty side dishes. My friend had the Buddae ‘Army’ Jiggae and I had the pork bone broth soup. Both of our soups came out nice and hot which is a plus because some places, their soups are a lukewarm The server said my dish is one of the popular soups at the moment so that’s why I tried it! It had pork, chives and a bit of glass noodles. It came with some spicy sauce on the side so you can mix it in to your taste, but the soup tasted great on its own. We also tried the croquettes, which were really yummy too! Definitely will be back to try their other menu items.

I wasn’t sure this restaurant change the owner or chef… Overall service and food go downhill…

I went to this restaurant with five friends and unfortunately, our experience was not good. The gamjatang hotpot that three of us shared was cold and seemed to have been kept for too long, resulting in spoiled food. As a result, the three of us have experienced serious diarrhea since dining there. I'm actually writing this review from the toilet, as this is now my fifth time experiencing this discomfort. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and I wouldn't recommend dining here.

Food quality has gone downhill since my visit last year. Ordered $28 beef dish. It was tiny. The meat was too salty, cut way too thin, and overcooked. Cold noodle had way too much ice versus noodles. It had too much of a vinegar taste. I understand inflation is a big factor in serving smaller potions but taste and quality was just bad.

The cold noodles are delicious, especially the sour taste is very appetizing in hot weather.

I used to love pork bone soup here but when i ordered feb 26, it has a fishy, old, smelly and weird taste.

Visited here for lunch. Was a second choice as the place we had originally wanted to go to was closed. Staff was friendly, knowledgable and helpful. I got a typical go to dish of bulgogi. Meal was good. Service was also good but nothing really to write home about this place. Just a regular Korean restaurant in my opinion. I wouldn't seek out this place.
