Lions Lookout

The view at the hill top is good for eyes but every difficult for cameras.

Rather than going by car till top, park your car somewhere mid of the hill and rest 100 meters do walk. That would be a great experience.

One of a must visit place if you are visiting Huntsville in the Muskoka Region. Beautiful and very scenic fall colors awaits you to enjoy.

During fall this place comes out to be so beautiful.
Camera don’t do justice to the scenic views
It is just a minute from Muskoka heritage place. Parking is free.
You can drive up or do a walk. On the lookout point parking is less, you might not get spot so can be parked in Heritage place.

A great spot to see the fall colours.
River to one side and Lake to the other side.
A short steep hike to the lookout point. Can be reached by either a short walk or drive.

Breath taking. Met locals and tourists. You know the place is good when the locals are there

We return to the Lions lookout almost every year for the stunning fall colour view.

This year, many inconsiderate people conveniently parked on the side of the road which ultimately blocked the already narrow entrance to the parking lot on top of the lookout.

If you are reading this post, please remember to share the road. Many people come here with young and elders, you can always drop them off at the top of the hill and park on the designated area at the bottom of the hill. We understand there is a hike up the hill however it is not a reason to block the others who might have problems walking.

Best place to visit in muskoka. It is our morning coffee place when we visit muskoka with family and friends. Best view is from here in any season and recommend in fall for fall colours.

We figured out why this is called lions lookout from our encounter with a mountain lion. In March we decided to go for a little walk up the hill to check the place out in the morning. Nice views but on our way back we heard this "large bird" above us in the trees that sounded like it was making noise at us and we stood there for 15 minutes trying to figure out what kind of a bird it was because it sounded like nothing we have ever heard. Well turns out a few months later we found out that it was a mountain lion making the noise at us and we had no idea.

Good view from the city. Just a few spots to park up there but there is plenty more available in you left down below.

Drive up to this Lookout and ponder the magnificent panoramic view of the Muskoka River flowing from Huntsville to Fairy Lake which connects to Peninsula and Mary Lakes beyond.
