Omar and his presentation for my daughters birthday was phenomenal! Parents and kids loved it, very flexible as well with a last minute location change.
Great new facility with lots to see. You have to book your tour privately now, but our hostess Charlotte did a tremendous job of personally walking through and showing us all the animals. Well worth the price of admission.
Run by teenagers. Made it a big deal that we didn't pre order tickets. Had to wonder around without a guide, my son got to watch as other groups with guides were able to touch a few animals and got a much better experience.
Told no guides were available, but there were 2 employees at the front desk when we arrive.
The older location was bigger and more interactive.
Its a shame, I even donated to little rays when they were worried about bankruptcy during covid closures.
Cost 40 bucks and we were done in less than 30min. Took longer to drive there (in sarsfield now)
An absolute must visit for anyone that loves animals and reptiles! Omar was an incredible guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The sloth experience was worth every penny. Very happy Little Ray's is still around! Made me feel like a kid again being there.
My wife and I did a combo tour today (sanctuary and sloth encounter). I have to say it was one of the best animal tours I have ever done. Our guide (I'm sorry I forget your name) was fantastic. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Truly an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!
Ouf!
Little Rays is an amazing place. They have been in my life since I was young. I remember going to their day camp and had them come to my place for multiple birthdays! They were always wonderful to their animals too. They use to be near Greely, but I am much happier with their new place. As I’m sure the animals do too! We did their tour and was definitely worth the price! Will happily support them as I love how much they care for their animals! Especially since a lot of them are rescues.
The kids had a wonderful time. So many different animals/reptiles. Connor, our guide was extremely patient with the relentless questions by the kids and knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. Thanks for making their day guys! Well done.
We had a fantastic time at Little Ray's today! Connor was our tour guide, and he was super informative and engaging. Our kids (age 3,7,9,11) had a blast during our tour. Everything was clean, bright, and well-organized. I would definitely recommend this nature centre to anyone looking for a fun Ottawa-area activity.
Great tour, the kids loved the animals. Can be very warm, dress cool. Littler kids (<6) may enjoy the animals but not so much the info in the tour and just prefer to look around.
Well where do I start? My two children and I travelled 1.5 hours to visit the experience when we were met and turned away at the door, because we didn't have a reservation when we never had to before not does it say anywhere we had to have a booking. I was asked if we had a 11 reservation of coarse no I didn't. So we went back to the car I waited till 1115 and went back to the door noticing nobody else was there or had shown up since then. I asked if we can take the 11 o'clock since they didn't show. Again we were turned away as well another family. I never want to hear again this business pleaing for business when they turn it away I never want to see them on CBC News or other newscast and or internet complaining they may close or have not enough business and are in debt. Maybe sticking to walk I tours or visits will promote business. Again don't plea for help when you just turn it away.
What an awesome place to visit.the staff members where extremely knowledgeable… so many questions all answered I wish I remembered her name however she has 2 masters degrees… the 90 minutes private tour was freaking awesome so thank you very much
Armando came prepared, on time, was very professional, and absolutely amazing with kids! His passion and smile were infectious, and the kids had a blast! I highly recommend their Nature’s Ninjas package!
This was a "feed the sloth" experience for my 54th birthday. I went with a couple of friends and my husband. Very clean centre, knowledgable staff. Not cheap, but worth it, to me, especially during covid and the restrictions on the centre. Was great to support this place.
Wonderful private tour with the sloth encounter at Little Rays. Dress for a warm climate. The staff give fantastic information and kids love it. Great way to spend an afternoon.
Catherine was amazing, detailed, interactive, and fun! Our members enjoyed all the animals. We will definitely have Little Ray’s virtual zoo program again! Thank you Little Ray’s
Rented out the place for a private tour for my 30th birthday. All I can say is 20/10. The animals were amazing, there was more than reptiles too! Our tour guide was 20/10 funny never had a guide make me laugh as hard. All I can say is that it was worth every single penny, hands down, no questions asked. Just go!
Great place to visit. It is their new location so be aware that they don't have a sign out front yet. It is easy to find though. We booked a private tour and we allowed to feed the Sloths. My spouse and toddler had loads of fun feeding them. They moved alot more than I was expecting. Actually they seemed to move the whole time while being fed or moving to their preferred sleeping areas. The other animals were alone of fun to see and interact with. There were all kinds of dancing birds, crocodiles, alligators, and bats.
Our tour guide Tristan was awesome! Great to get background info on all the rescue animals - much better than just viewing animals at a zoo. Admission is supporting a great cause.
Such a great day! We did the tour as well as sloth experience and it was wonderful! Jasmine was a great tour guide and very interactive with our niece. Well done!
Jasmin was so knowledgeable and very clearly dedicated to the animals! You can really tell the staff there have such big hearts and want the best for each animal. Loved being there so much. Can't wait to go back! The private tour made a great date activity.
I went with my two nieces and nephew and had a great time. Our guide was awesome, he was knowledgeable on all the animals and so patient with the kids.
We had booked our private tour way back in April but then the province went into lockdown. Little Ray's was great at rescheduling over and over in this pandemic and when we were finally able to visit it was definitely worth the wait!
The Covid measures in place were great! Our guide Mike was so enthusiastic and wonderful with our children. Our son was so excited to see the different animals and learn so much about them and our daughter was so happy to see the mammals! Such an advantage to have such small tours too to get the full experience.
I highly recommend the tour and appreciate the work and love the people here put into their jobs in carrying for the animals!
Thank you for the most incredible experience getting to pet and feed sloths! Our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable. She even offered to get photos for us.
The new place is somewhat nicer but the area where it's located is better. My kids even took many pictures that you guys could see. During the covid19 time it's much slower but I'm sure they will pick up once we are back to normal. Cheers
Kyle was a fantastic tour guide, very engaging and silly at the right times. We were 4 adults and 3 little ones and it was just an epic morning for everyone! There are so many unique animals to see both indoors and outdoors.
Meh, it's just okay. They have a few critters to see but for the price point we expected more. If you visit, make sure you view the demonstrations otherwise there is not much to see.
I know they're moving to larger premises soon (hopefully that helps) but even so this was a very disappointing visit. We'd seen everything that we could see within 20 mins, did a few more circuits to make it worthwhile, and they started the kangaroo/tortoise feeding just as we were going to leave after 45 mins. That was pretty fun but hard to see how the ticket prices and drive are justified.
Great place to bring the kids for an afternoon. Lots of different reptiles and the staff put on a few demonstrations throughout the day. Be sure to head out back and see the kangaroos, lynx, and eagles!
He puts on a good front when you hire him for an event, but after hours he is very rude and will only give you the time of day when you're putting money in his pocket or trying to get in your pants. If you want to see reptiles and friendly people, I would recommend going to your local zoo.
Well, the Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. And the animals were really nice. I was expecting it to be a little bigger, but hey, its still a good place for family visits and recommended summer camps.
Little Ray's is a shining example what a great interactive rescue/zoo is all about. It's fun, educational and always engaging. The kids absolutely love our visits to Little Ray's. It's sad to see them move to a new location so much farther away but I know my family and I are excited to see what kinds of things they can do with all that extra space.
We absolutely loved our experience at this zoo. We expected a basic reptile exhibit but it was so much more. The interactive part was the best and the bat exhibit was simply amazing. Also the place has a great personal feel to it that makes it so much more enjoyable than the larger zoos. And the zoo workers are great with their enthusiasm and insightful information. Highly recommended and a big thank you to all the staff for a great experience!
Nice little zoo that sometimes takes in animals that no one else wants and would be destroyed such as the alligator the staff is very friendly and teaches things about the animals
Kids loved it. All animals are rescues, and the information on pet care & ownership was on point. Meet & greet and feeding session with animals was exciting for the kids. One of which said "I didn't know this place would be fun".
A good experience, with great staff. The hands on show was the best! We even got to pet a baby sloth! Really looking forward to them getting into their new location soon!
Educational. Respectful staff. You can tell they really care about animals. A must! LEE is just amazing Extremely respectful towards me and my fear of tarantulas. He is just delish! He is so funny and that accent. OMG I could listen to him talk all day (wink wink) haha. Thank you to everyone over there! I had a wonderful time!
Looking for something out of the ordinary? Come check this place out. Lots of free parking and a great way to spend a few hours, rain or shine. Even if your not a big reptile fan, they do have other exhibits as well.
8 year old kept busy for almost 4 hours. Yes it's a small facility (currently) but the staff were amazing. Helpful, patient and didn't dumb things down for kids. Little guy will be going back for camp this summer after his one short visit - and auntie and grandma weren't bored either ;)
Staff is incredibly knowledgeable! Very educational for the animal lover. Hard to stay for long periods of time as it's very warm inside (for the reptiles)
Good amount of creatures to see. Place is kept clean. There are also short demos and shows, the shorter length is great for younger kids that can't sit as long.
