The call center agents for benefit office are Extremely RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. Don't bother asking them questions or anything they just hang up on you before you finish talking. Joined this year and asked how to get my vacation pay after being hung up on 8 times finally got an answer

Wow! All I can say is wow! How these women stay employed is beyond my imagination! All are so freaking rude and the only Diana there is the biggest B!

The best thing that ever happened in my life was joining the Union, especially Local 183. The service provided at this building is top-notch, never rude, always accomodating, feels like family. Thanks for representing us workers in the construction sector and for sticking up for us.

Every time I work for a 183 union company my car gets vandalized in the parking lot, the sewer an water main workers from a company called Ground Breakers in Halton region stole my Sthil FS90 lawn trimmer.

If it's your first time at Liuna. Please note:
1. Go to Front-desk office that is at right-side of the statue, where you have to submit your forms and the initiation fee i.e. $141 nowadays
2. Then go to Liuna 183 office that is at 1st floor & left side of the statue. You can also collect your vacation pay over there.
3. Go to the basement where you can your Jacket that's free of cost.
4. Go home buddy, enjoy the rest of your day ;)

I highly encourage anyone looking to join a quality union to look no further than LiUNA Local 183. I’ve been a member for 20 years and have had nothing but a positive experience. Their slogan is “feel the power” and it couldn’t be more accurate. Knowing that I have the backing of such a great union gives me confidence that my work environment will always be safe and I will be treated with respect. I’ve been blessed to have Victor Ferreira as my union representative throughout my career. He’s such a caring, genuine and hard working person. I can tell he really enjoys his job. He’s always been there to answer a question or help you deal with any issues you may have. His number one priority is helping his brothers & sisters and it shows. I could go on and on about the greatness of the union but you should see it for yourself. Then you too could be a proud member of LiUNA Local 183

Some people are good some are very poor and have attitudes when talking to the union member. And why are they closed a 4pm they used to be open till 5 pm until the plandemic now nobody wants to work. Unbelievable!

I accompanied my friend who is a union member to his dentist appointment. I was impressed at the multitude of services available in one spot.

The ladies that answer the phone, to ask information about your benefits are really rude they just answer 1 question and when about to ask another one they just hang up. Find a job that you would like.

The young lady that works there giving the jacket to workers is not nice at all! She’s rude to people! If she has a job there is because all those people pay their union fees! I hope she remembers that!

The benefits call centre is an embarrassment. Always rushing you off the phone giving attitude and never helping to resolve your concerns.
I can ever get in touch with the supervisor after requesting numerous times either. Who’s responsible for this mess? I’d love to chat!

My Liuna 183 benefits are fantastic, they even surpass my parents corporate benefits. Dealing with the Union is easy they have a few halls to go to and most things can be done online. Iv also never had a problem making a benefits claim.

Great union with amazing representatives! Had the pleasure of speaking with Victor Ferreira. He was very punctual and was able to answer all of my questions with ease; extremely knowledgable and very easy to talk to. Definitely ask for him if you need to speak to a representative

This is the worst union you can possibly join. They stolen my dads pension $89 dollars a month for a man that has 20 years in this union. My dad did not speak English and was loyal to the company and union to find out that the company he worked for and the union robbed him. Stay away from this union if your looking to join it. And please local 183 don’t message me to say that you would like to take my complain you guys know what’s going on there so don’t bother.

It's outrageous that a well-funded Union as Liuna Local 183 organizes a strike that can go up to 6 weeks (to protect the worker's interests, they say!), right after two terrible years that already put us all into financial distress, with no Trust Fund to be used in situations like this to support their workers. If you ask me, I rather get paid less a few bucks an hour but get to the end of this month and have money to pay my bills.
Maybe build fewer concrete castles, to accommodate the high-class workers from Local 183 and use more of our money to apply towards the members that actually contribute to the Union and work under severe weather conditions, putting their life and health at risk daily.
Someone please help this make sense. Me and my construction fellows were considered essential workers during 2+ years of Covid -19 – we worked hard to have the economy going and now all the money we saved so far, will be spent on a strike that can go as far as 6 weeks. And you claim that you are protecting the workers interests?
With so much money paid towards this Union, with all the monies this Union withdraws from their member's pensions, and etc – there is not enough money for an allowance of 500 dollars a week for 15.000 members? Some of us have mortgages to pay, sick family members to care for. Look at the prices of food, the prices of gas! Can we afford this unpaid strike? This is Pathetic. Just do a research, much smaller Unions have emergency funds to be used in situation as this.
YES, we deserve to be paid more but we also deserve a Union that truly protect us and our families.
This is not a Union – this is a cult.

Its embarrassing that a Union of this size have people that are on the panel that are not effective communicators and forget glasses on most important days. All other unions have live meeting with live votes except local 183. Where is the vote for and against numbers…. How do you go from a bad contract to a worst one?

Largest union but yet no direct billing line anywhere getting your money back is next to impossible unless you wanna work 40 hours on the phone will multiple incompetent people and still end up no where so glad I pay for this kinda treatment and mental anguish.

Don't waste your time or money. They do not help anyone but themselves. They have an excuse for everything, you will never be right. Benefits, smenefits, you can get benefits at a non union company without the run around and have way more support.

Got accused by a rep for harassment because I was asking too many questions and was doubting thier representation. Joke union.

Calling/ going to the benefits department is literally a joke and a waste of time. I really don't know how these people get jobs. These people speak to you like you don't know what you are talking about. They have a lot of attitude and do not really care about your problems.

Shame on this organization. They are charging late fees for the membership fee not caring about the current economic situation but when I call the union for help to find a job they say theres nothing available.

Calling the benefits department is worse than calling a government office. The wait time is ridiculous! For example 2 hours combined on 2 different calls. My husband has been a member for 6 years and being his wife I have been given no information or authorization to ask any questions about direct billing regarding dental and massages. I have been using these benefits for years. I provided all information necessary and was literally given nothing. What a waste of time. THE BENEFITS DEPARTMENT IS DISGRACEFUL. Just simply RUDE.

What can I say scams scams scams and more scams I don’t trust this local 183 as far as I can toss them

I joined the 183 this past summer 2018 and I work for a bridge building company

- great hourly pay
- safe work environment
- weekly pay/direct deposit

This local is like calling rogers cell phone help lines.get ready for the run around. 15 different ppl answer the phones and cant direct your call in the appropriate fashion.the 12 years ive been in the labourers union ive never had locals hang up on me when they are asked reasonable questions.they will outright ignore you. Im glad i dont have to rely on this local for anything other then a union dues bill.

I call my rep because I was getting bulied and mistreated at work from my foreman so many times I couldn't take it no more I had to leave on day. He told Me bulling it happens in school not here.
Well Mr rep bulling it happens also in the job site and can be very dangerous if u went of any safety program u should know better specially for a coordinator. Or maybe because the rep and the company owner are friends.at the end of the day I couldn't collect ie the union did absolutely nothing for me.plus in the job site was illegal immigrants that the union knew it through only things they did work with someone else name and insurance number.

Finding work at local 183 extreme difficult unless you know someone. I came to this place seeking for work in construction and still cannot find any things intrigue. I am not member of the local 183 and not sure, or not if worth it. If I attempt to call an employer at work, no one seems to answer the phone. Most of the time, they want to hear about your experience and not who you really are. The money, diploma, the training, and achievement it joke. On job construction site, it even worst if demanding for a job because most don't speak English, or want to hire, or try to assist. Sadden to see most employee have no proper training, safety regulation, or certificate. Better off talking to someone that you know if looking for employment. Don't waste time, money, and energy here if you don't know anyone here. Even today, I still don't have work in construction and it hard to find good peoples. I Speak from my experience.
