Great venue, been many times and every time the temperature is comfortable and the sound quality is good. I’ve enjoyed every performance I’ve seen there. Parking has has always been free when I’ve been, but it HORRIBLE LEAVING. Sooooo many cars and SUCH A SLOW LONG LINE UP. Park out on the street for a quick getaway!

Lovely hall. Good acoustics. Heard Verdi ‘s Requiem there in November preceded by a touching tribute to Hazel McCallion. The requiem was lovely.

I had a delightful evening at The Living Arts Centre. I started my night with a delicious lamb supper at Live, the restaurant within the centre. The food was exquisite, setting the stage for an amazing evening.

The Chet Baker concert was a true musical masterpiece. The talented musicians played Baker’s music flawlessly, creating an intimate and electric atmosphere. The cabaret-style setup added a unique charm, making the experience unforgettable.

The Living Arts Centre itself is a gem. The ambiance is inviting, the staff is courteous, and attention to detail is evident everywhere. It’s a testament to the city’s commitment to the arts and culture.

I highly recommend The Living Arts Centre for anyone seeking a perfect blend of culinary delights and musical brilliance. Whether you’re a food enthusiast, a music lover, or just looking for a memorable night out, this venue exceeds expectations.

I signed up my daughter 9 year old for creative writing and visual arts. I liked the way of teaching creative writing however I am disappointed by the visual arts classes conducted in July since they didn’t taught anything valuable to the kids. I absolutely wasted 200 dollars by joining visual arts.

On the other hand I disagree that front desk won’t provide parking pass to the parents who have joined the children program.

Only 1 drop of water is enough to ruin the whole kitchen. It is really weird that “kitchen” cabinets are this sensitive to water! Can’t even resist the washing machine humidity.

The place is nice. But the service of cashier is super slow. Good idea to train someone of what to punch in so it doesnt take 5 mins for one order ss u have a very short intermission but place is nice. Jamaican patties were dry. Will make sure I bring snacks of my own

Working here on film location. Nice place, but one of the more difficult for film crews to work due to tight rules and enforcement as well as limited parking.

We were there for a birthday party with a small arts class for kids (4-6yo). They handled the kids very well. After that finished we moved to another room for cake and festivities.

I was there for a work event. The venue was beautiful and the staff are very professional and friendly. The food was very good but perhaps not as good as similar events at other locations. But all in all very good.

We hosted an event at the Live Restaurant and although the menu was a little pricey, the venue was beautiful and the service was great. They took care of everything for us and our clients were very impressed. We will host here again next year.

A Caution to Parents

My wife and I, along with our two-year old, attended the November 23rd performance for Sesame Street: C is for Celebration at the Living Arts Centre.

The day we purchased tickets, we called the box office to find out the policy with toddlers/infants and were told that we could buy a "baby ticket" in advance for $5 or pay $2 at the door for the same ticket.

We called once more leading up to the event to confirm this policy, and we were told the same thing. We consulted an usher that we know personally and she confirmed a second time.

Great! We thought. We'll pay the $2 and everything is a-okay.

Fast forward to the day of the show. We show up at the box office and are told that they are sold out of baby tickets, and that if we want our child to attend, will need to pay $20. Are you kidding me?

Not once was the "limited quantity" of the baby tickets disclosed to us via email or telephone, despite our inquiries. And how are they sold out if I can still buy one for a 1000% price increase? Honest to God gouging by this venue, and I shudder to think how many parents paid this fee not knowing what else to do.

Fortunately, we complained and spoke to a manager, and were given a "baby ticket" free of charge.

Doubt we will ever attend another event at the LAC.

Parents, watch out.

For two different events now (ballet "the nutcracker", opera "la boheme") the organization of events is wonderful, the theater " hammerson hall" is well equipped and clean. Lovely helpful staff. Almost every detail is awesome except they are presenting with recorded music not live orchestra, which is fair for their price tickets. Overall experience very good.

Went to a company event the staff was horribly rude and pushy. When I left the meeting to stretch my legs because I'm tall and the seats in Hammerson Hall are not comfortable with sitting there for almost 2 hours straight. One of the staff approached me and pretty much said that the meeting is 2 hours and what am I doing outside of the meeting hall. He pretty much treated me as if he was talking to a child without their mother around. Needless to say I put him in his place but will report to my company to never use their venue for meetings there again.

I was there for a graduation, the hall where the graduation book place was for stars but the location could have offered sme refreshments.

This is a good place to get help in job finding, settling in New country and many other entertainment options.

Wonderful designed space, not as big as it appears on the seating chart. The line for drinks was too long, they need more service counters. The sound was good although I think the mid-ranges were lost in favour to a slightly tinny aspect from the upper harmonics and an occasionally overwhelming bass.

Living Arts Centre hosted a private function for 800. Featuring 3 Canadian comedians, Tim Nutt, Leonar d Chan and Mark Bennett. FABULOUS SHOW.
16 October 2018 20:57
World class art performing centre. Great theatre, impeccable sound, fantastic acoustic. Numerous performances, classes and activities during the year in this phenomenal, grandiose facility. Great ambiance and atmosphere.
Wonderful place to enjoy shows, pottery, wood carving, painting, jewellery and many more courses.

Very beautiful place. Theatre is good. We saw a movie Mahmeer. Experience was nice.different take place there.interesting place foe everyone

This venue sets up nicely for formal listening or as a cabaret set up for listening to a live performance. I would caution however, that you should plan on eating or drinking either at the restaurant in the center or at a restaurant nearby but that should not be a problem as it is located right by square one

Had a great experience watching a show here! Just be careful, it can get very chilly in the auditorium.

Ate at the restaurant for the first time. Service was just ok. Food wasn't so good. All of us that ate there felt sick afterwards. Will not be going back here again. Zero recommendation of this place
