Great store large selection fantastic fruit and produce fairly pricey but worth it in terms of quality and freshness great spot for a quick lunch
02 November 2023 21:55
Extremely spacious with well labelled sections and aisles. A large variety of household goods and grocery products could be found. Very organized shelves. A cooked food section is also available near exit. Free wifi provided.

An iconic destination in my neighbourhood. Look for Centre Ice and the Wall of Cheese. Great bakery for specialty cakes and desserts

It was pretty decent until maybe a year ago, when they started to implement all these annoying anti-theft measures. For example, the self-checkout won't let you put everything into your bags right away anymore so you have to touch every article twice. Which makes this process just a little more annoying than it has to be. They also installed these gates in a couple of places that make the entrance space feel so much more cramped than it used to. This all started in the midst of accusations of price gauging (which Loblaws very obviously does, given their profits) during a period of high inflation. Especially considering that shoplifting is not a real problem for any supermarket by any reasonable measure, this just seemed like the actions of a petulant child. Another annoyance recently has been a weird absence of any shopping baskets and on occasion I literally decided to buy fewer items because I was too lazy to drag around a whole damn shopping cart.

This is one of the most expensive locations of the most expensive, most bourgeois Canadian supermarket, so if Im gonna pay a premium on the products, the least Loblaws could do is not to treat all their costumers like potential shoplisters, seriously.

(Damn I didn't know I had this many feelings about my little local Loblaws (:)

Ps.: Staff is always great! Just annoyed at the corporate overlords.

Massive supermarket for downtown. The shelving of items is a bit unclear and similar items can be found at 2 different isles, maybe because they organize them in organic or regular? Who knows.
30 September 2023 5:19
Has been a regular customer here for 8 years, never experienced any issues like what happened today. We checked out at the self-check out this morning, but the machine has issues with the pc optimum card. We called the staff to help, the lady in red glass told us there is nothing she can do. I don’t understand what do you mean you can’t do nothing? Can you help us with the machine beside us? Can you help us to check us at customer service?
29 September 2023 5:43
Very good selection of high end products but be warned, everything at this grocery store is extra expensive.
20 September 2023 20:13
Congratulations for discriminating against white men!
Two non-white female employees put me in my place by choosing to serve non-white females ahead of me although I was in line before them. Thanks so much!
You will no longer have to worry about me coming back.

Check your receipts! There are way too many price scanning discrepancies at Loblaw’s and Shopper’s. Recently at Loblaws, my Loblaws Exclusive offer didn’t scan and I was charged way too much. I didn’t notice until I got home. Never mind Loblaws checking your receipts at the door, you need to check your own receipt before you leave the store. I went back and was told it was a PC Optimum issue. No apology offered. No ownership taken. Lidia, a store manager (?), and the other staff were quick to distance Loblaws from PC Optimum. Is Loblaws leaving the PC Optimum program? How safe are our PC points? Of course, the staff are quick to blame the customer of not using the PC Optimum application correctly. Lidia and customer service counter staff are not familiar with the app at all. Not a good look for Loblaws. She offered to refund the difference, but the whole interaction soured the experience and I declined her offer. Lidia actually encouraged me to post on social media and escalate to the executive. I expect better from Loblaws.

I dropped a $100+ basket of groceries on the ground and walked out. Things have gotten so slow since Gaelen upgraded security that it’s just not worth the wait anymore.
Off to FreahCo!
05 August 2023 16:52
I was looking for ideas for charcuterie boards and saw a lot of food in here that I need. A great store with so many food options.
18 July 2023 22:22
1stop shopping, groceries, A selection of best meats, bread desert ect and ready made meals plus LCBO and Joe Fresh upstairs
22 January 2022 8:38
My go-to Loblaws. Very spacious store with a huge selection of goods. Never have to wait too long to check out.
27 December 2021 19:26
This is the giant Loblaws at Maple Leaf Gardens that was much heralded when it first opened. Lots of disappointments though. The store is poorly organized, with, for example, not one but three different areas of the store where you can find cheese. The selection is not what it should be for a store that size, and the prices are the same as other inner city stores, i.e. Expensive.
26 December 2021 19:20
Great store, amazing bakery, fresh foods. Huge selection of everything you could ever imagine needing at a grocery store.
23 December 2021 20:56
Best Selection and Quality. Unique Venue. Filthy smelly dirty bathrooms. Why have such a beautiful store and force.customers to use disgusting bathrooms that are crying for attention and basic hygiene. I feel like I need to be checked for lice anytime I am forced to use that bathroom
15 December 2021 5:01
Overall great selection and quality.however if you go in the morning some items may be missing.best time to go is anytime after 11 AM. As this gives them time to stock. When asking staff for help they go out of your way to help you find your items
09 December 2021 14:18
The best Loblaw every. A must is aisle 28 I think. Center ice of the old gardens. Fresh made foods lots of different types of almost everything
05 December 2021 11:36
Nice clean and spacious store. Generally pretty well stocked. Validated parking with $20 purchase. Only minor complaint is the checkout are often short staffed compared to other Loblaws.
27 November 2021 22:26
They took blue chairs from the stands and made a maple leaf. Also, there's a lot less covid inside.
22 November 2021 15:12
I like most of this store but their bakery and sandwich meat selection leaves me wanting. However, I like how much pre made food selection there is. I'm a student and don't have the time and energy to cook from scratch but also don't want to eat out all the time so this is a great option.
20 November 2021 17:19
A lot of items are out of stock (& have been 4 quite a while, including NN/PC brands), but some of THE BEST STAFF & CUSTOMER SERVICE out there, & their prices are very competitive.
19 November 2021 23:56
It's a BIG store! Lots of food to choose from in there but, also difficult to find specific items without needing to find staff at the store for assistance.
15 November 2021 6:09
Diesen Laden sollte man auf jeden Fall mal gesehen haben. Hier gibt es alles an Essen. Die Fleischabteilung ist super. Genauso wie die Käseabteilung.
04 November 2021 12:22
I was impressed with Josie B's committment to customer service. While I was waiting for someone's attention, she approached me and helped me without me asking. Thank you Josie and have a great Thanksgiving!
29 October 2021 14:03
This is my go-to location for grocery shopping. The store is beautifully furnished, well arranged and clean. Staff is always nice. Really appreciate their sushi stand, Ace bakery and other hot tables.
21 October 2021 20:43
Great layout they have almost every product and produce imaginable store environment is comfortable and the relaxed atmosphere makes shopping an enjoyable experience.
15 October 2021 16:17
Wow, this review is so long overdue. I just wanted to say that I’ve been coming here for the past four years to get all my fresh produce, dairy and fresh meats. Phenomenal customer service and always fully stocked. The lines are always short, well sanitized and the cashiers are always on point and professional.
20 September 2021 20:09
Really over all unhelpful and bad attitudes. Don’t ask the bakery for any kind of assistance as you won’t get it. I highly recommend shopping especially for baked goods anywhere else.
17 September 2021 18:10
It's always good time at this store. Love the music. I can by my supplements at a good price and I get PC Optimum points. I love PC Optimum!
12 September 2021 15:46
Great place to shop for everyday items and more. Good variety. Their website does not function well for stocked items. Items mostly in stock but sometimes dont ever show. Clean and well maintained.
11 September 2021 12:53
Amazing location! Great layout and beautiful store, tons of premium selections, decent service. I buy all my groceries here. They have a nice cured meat/cheese counter. There is an LCBO upstairs and there is a jofresh as well.
09 September 2021 13:04
Loblaws is a very busy grocery store and it's clean the staff are friendly some prices are higher then others but at least it's a hop skip and jump from my location
06 September 2021 6:25
Not even 5 minutes of coming inside at the store I had already been followed by floor walkers which was very disappointing, because how quickly they were to stereotype. Even more disappointed in the self checkout aisle, the person on duty at the self-checkout aisle seem to not want to offer her services. I have a tax exempt card and once she's seen it it was like it was going to be more work for her and said for me to go to the aisles that had the people on cash checkouts. Meanwhile many other self checkout aisles like no frills etc have been known to do tax exempt at the self check out aisles. I am not happy with my experience shopping here.
05 September 2021 7:39
Biggest Loblaws I have ever seen. Even Joe Fresh is a small department store with an lcbo inside. Inside the old maple leaf gardens is a nice historic yet new idea. The amount of food selection is vast and a starbucks also
31 July 2021 15:38
Loblaws actually surprised me, I don't usually go there °cause I moved location°, However it seemed very upscale, very big. I actually had fun getting a little lost. I loved it. Oh let's not forget they have this bakery section? Don't get me started, a sushi bar, Delicious, Butcher like? Impressive LCBO upstairs and washrooms wheelchair accessible. 5
16 July 2021 7:34
Loblaws Grocery Store is the favorite place to buy groceries, It offers every conceivable item one could be looking for. Fresh baked bread & meals for take out, a full row of cheeses. The many varieties of fruits and vegetables plus organic.
13 July 2021 14:46
Always well stocked. Most staff are well-informed with good memory of product locations. Prices reasonable, excellent variety that caters to all ethnicities.
12 July 2021 17:33
Maple Leaf Gardens floor space, variety from high-end to budget, there's always a bit of adventure in a visit to this warm, welcoming flagship store
27 June 2021 18:25
Iconic. A pleasure to shop there. Once covid-19 is over, it's a great place to have a hot meal and then do your shopping, but no seating these days unfortunately
26 June 2021 14:30
Huge location, sometimes hard to find things, but there's so much variety of things other stores don't normally have, like exotic fruit, etc
23 June 2021 14:05
Do not order cakes from this bakery. The cake I received looked like a Wish.com knockoff of the display cake. It was supposed to look like a burger but they didn’t even finish icing the cake.
21 February 2019 4:12
A huge store, impeccably merchandised. Great selection of prepared food. You can sit at the counter and eat sushi prepared in front of you. There is also a salad bar, and soup bar. Be sure to visit the Nutella Cafe if you have a sweet tooth.
14 February 2019 17:15
Great options to eat lunch or grab some groceries. Also has amazing pastries including doughnuts and muffins. Can get busy at times, but the occasional live music makes the shopping experience more enjoyable.
10 February 2019 4:49
Beautiful store, large and packed full of most anything that you'd want from a grocery store including one of the best selection of cheeses in Toronto.

That said, this location is grossly overpriced. Those cheap no-name chips you might buy for a dollar elsewhere won't ever be less than $1.50 here. When 2 litre bottles of Coke go on sale for a dollar elsewhere they'll be $1.50 here.

The only saving grace pricewise is that a lot fresh goods go on sale at 50 percent off here later in the evening. Sandwiches seem to get marked down at around 9pm, Ace Bakery breads and doughnuts get marked down at around 10pm.

It almost makes up for the fact most everything else at this store is a massive rip-off.
21 January 2019 10:09
Loblaws is a fabulous store with a terrific selection of ptoducts, but I find it a bit too pricy, unless it has sale, and that's why I gave it 4 and not 5 stars. I do shop there often, and often I find stuff of great quality and great prices there.
17 January 2019 12:06
If you are looking for a good food with a reasonable price, here is certainly your choice. I'm working downtown and go to this location for lunch and coffee. You will be surprised from variety and price.
11 January 2019 3:00
Enjoy the grocery shopping here but do not take too much stuff unless with offers and look at the price, if any mistake in the price they give you the item for free
05 December 2018 10:21
All in all, a pretty superior supermarket. They DO have some issues, primarily with shortages of merchandise, staffing at counters, and long lineups to checkout. And a perennial beef of mine (not exclusive to Loblaws) is the dearth of local produce.
01 December 2018 15:11
Most incredible grocery store I have been to in the world. Historic, huge, lots of specialty items and departments.

The Nutella Bar and the bacon maple donut are top notch.

Go to aisle 25 to see the spot where the centre ice circle would have been.

On the expensive end, so I go more for deals or when I have company.
29 November 2018 11:17
Great store. It's very large. Large variety of produce and products from fresh peoducec both organic and nor, dry goods, frozen goods as well as kitchen cooking utensils, tools, dishes and cook books. Many smaller interesting products hanging on shelves in aisles. Aisles dedicated to each gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian and special diets. Over 30 aisles. Eat in area with tables and chairs. Get hot or cold dishes on site. Large deli and baking counters. Plenty of staff to ask for assistance. A half wall of cheese both domestic and imported. Wheels or partial as well as a cheese counter with variety of more popular cheeses. Huge produce area and a wall of greens.
Clearly labeled aisles that make it easy to find what you want and need. Note what you want may be in a different area than you might expect as there is such a variety.
I would suggest you go at least once when you have some time and have a look around. The products and variety in this store is quite a site to experience Ce. A treasure trove for foodies!
Within walking distance from Eaton Centre and Imagine Movie cinema. Bulk Barnabas block or two away. Just west of Church street on College.
24 November 2018 4:42
Very nice store. It’s huge. Has over 20 aisles. The produce department has a wide variety of options in terms of their selection. They have a fish section, meat section, cheese section, little food court with a TV, a cake section, self checkouts. The staff there are very nice. Always seem to help out whenever I ask. Always very friendly. If you like shopping at a historic grocery store that is the size of a Walmart, then this is your place. Highly recommend shopping here. Just don’t go at rush hour, the lines are crazy long.
22 November 2018 12:49
Why on earth would anyone make a special trip to see a major grocery chain store? Well, this is not just your run of the mill Loblaws store. This particular location is so much more. For one, it is housed in the former home of the iconic Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team - Maple Leaf Gardens. It is a large beautiful space with high ceilings. Unfortunately it has been totally renovated so none of the old architecture of the the inside is visible but still an impressive space. Then you turn your attention to what is inside this space. It is food - To eat immediately or take home - at the ready. A huge deli counter, a large cheese counter, a bread bakery (look up, it's where the bread is baked) a pastry counter, a sushi/Asian snack counter, a ready packaged to eat refrigerated area with sandwiches/salads/small cheese platters, a large stretch of hot ready to eat meals with pizza, pasta, entrees and sides, a soup bar, a salad bar, AND a Nutella cafe with goodies all made with the hazelnut spread. It all looked good but we only had enough room to try the roasted chicken (awesome), pizza (good but a little dry), pasta bolognese (excellent), mac and cheese (bland), California sushi (very good), maple pecan custard donut (so good), Nutella stuffed croissant (unbelievable), the mixed berry Nutella pizza (even better), and the tea flavored bubble tea (not that great - tapioca was tough). Everything seemed fairly reasonable priced (eg a rectangle of pizza was $4Cdn, a tray of California sushi was $5 Cdn, a Nutella croissant was $2.50Cdn). Of course, if you have some grocery shopping to do, there was a huge grocery store behind all of the food court in the front but we didn't need to buy anything. If you have the chance and are hungry, please go in and try something.anything! You won't be sorry.
21 November 2018 15:04
Absolutely no selection of rice. They've got about 100 kinds of basmati, but are consistently out of arborio and other kinds, or any other kind of rice. The ability to reserve a crate or something would be great. Can never find shallots. Butcher is pretty great, but all in all, pretty small selection for such a flagship location.
18 November 2018 18:44
Pricey, but you can find almost anything in here. Prefer the freshco that just opened north of here for better prices but the quality of groceries here is top quality.
15 November 2018 18:04
A large store with an impressive main entrance. For a large downtown grocery store there isn't a lot of choice. For example most large stores would have 4 rows of Campbella chicken soup whereas this store will have 8. Each month you notice more and more brands disappearing. The meat department is sad.
18 October 2018 9:51
First and foremost, very little remains of the Maple Leaf Gardens of yesteryear. I asked one of the cashiers where the entrance to Harold Balard's apartment was, and he responded, "Who? "
There's a nice maple leaf made out of "The Blues" on the east wall and a couple of pictures of retired Leafs, but not much else exists.
As for a Loblaws, it's pretty impressive. I love the cafe and the Nutella pastries made almost fresh. Lots of "on the go" stuff for tourists and busy downtown lunches.
Great selection of fresh veg and meats for foodies and for alternative foodies, an extensive bug protein section. None for me though, thanks.
I find this place attracts a lot of urbanites so it's a great place to people watch.
Joe Fresh and LCBO are located up the escalator.
10 October 2018 3:06
Former Maple Leaf Gardens and now supermarket super store with connection to Ryerson University and some historical displays including artwork made of original seats from the arena
05 October 2018 0:13
This is by far the largest and fanciest supermarket I've ever seen. In addition to an extremely wide selection of standard grocery store items, they have a great diversity of fancy produce, fine fresh seafood, meat, and fresh bread. In addition they have a food court, take out, and an entire wall filled with fine cheese from around the world. There is an LCBO upstairs, and the mysterious Nutella Cafe out front. There is 1.5 hour free parking with $20 purchase. The checkout line is usually fairly reasonable, but once I had to wait for 30 minutes. Highly recommend!
30 September 2018 12:52
Great store with a great atmosphere. Sometimes lacking in selection especially for produce. Quite pricey and it is very difficult to find someone on the floor to help you.
28 September 2018 0:27
Excellent breads which go on half-price around 9: 30 or 10 pm. Sandwiches become half price at around 8 pm. Lots of good deals in the store with surprising cut-rate prices on their clearance shelf which is conveniently placed near the self-checkout kiosks. Their cracker barrel cheeses are offered at the lowest prices in town. Free WiFi to top it all. Nice asparagus omelettes are available freshly made at breakfast time.
22 September 2018 15:56
This loblaws is right down the street a 5 minute walk. They have everything. It’s probably the 2nd most expensive pro buy groceries downtown but when in a pinch (or raining, heatwave or blizzard) it’s open until 11pm. They carry vegan kimchi which is awesome. But every major holiday that requires butter for baking they mysteriously can’t get no name unsalted butter in stock! Leaving only the major brand names available for purchase at painfully high prices. I would suggest the purchasing manager for dairy order accordingly after all no name is a loblaws innovation product that launched the no frills label.
