My sweet Ivory spent her final moments here. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. They helped lay out all the options and costs for me to make the right choice. And when the choice was to help her end her suffering, they treated us with incredible kindness, compassion and professionalism. I was able to be with my precious cat in her final moments. Thank you to the staff for her excellent care at your hospital.

I had a great experience at this hospital. Very caring and knowledgable staff. Our Vet, Katherine Woods, was absolutely great. I can't thank her enough. I would highly recommend this hospital. My little Lucy says thank you.

Our Billy passed in the wee hours of January 5 2024. We called them for some help and the people (the ladies that were on duty at the time) were there for help.
And boy did they ever help. The staff was very very great and I appreciated what they did for our boy and my wife and I.

Emergency vet yea no sit there for 3 hours without being seen by a vet once the have no problem charging you for your pet but can't seem to help your pet without making you wait for hours or make you mad enough you leave

I was impressed with the care and the service. When my daughter took in her wiener dog to get help, they were open late (1: 00 a.m.), cleaned up after the dog after it got sick, allowed us to stay overnight (helpful, as we were from out of town), had free WiFi, and logged us into Netflix to watch while we waited on the test results.

11 Hours of wait time and still no help received. I took my dog in at 830AM, sat in a small room for 4 hours, no water was provided for Leo, nor did someone check in occasionally. After 4 hours staff asked if I wanted to go home (1.5hours drive) and wait and they would call to bring him in. I asked to just get bandage on for now because he was bleeding and wound was exposed to get infection. They charged me $75+ for bandage! They told me to go onto the smartvet app and get him on antibiotics asap (thats $135+ for online consult), because she was worried about the wound. We were there early, with a realy bad wound, that the vet was worried about, but not helping us! They called me at 8PM, I missed the call, and when trying to call back it went straight to voicemail, because they were closed. I dont know if they were understaffed, or due to it being a Sunday, or simply just a money grab and they dont care because we have no choice other than to wait.

The only emergency vet in London now isn’t open on weekends? I guess animals don’t get sick on weekends. There’s a special place in he11 for whoever made this call.

Staff can be a bit grumpy but I think it's just what they have to deal with on the day to day. Took care of my dog, didn't make me feel too too uncomfortable. Best we got I guess.

So kind and helpful, from my initial phone call all the way through until we were out the door. I was delighted.

Absolutely insane that VCA, a multi BILLION dollar company can’t pay and keep employees. They close two days a week, leaving dogs and cats to just die. Pay a fairer wage so you can keep your doors open. Clearly this company would rather close and have us all in danger than to incentivize people to work there.

Need emergency today, my friend cat jump out of the building, not even open and nobody answer the phone call? Seriously? In London? 24 hours/7 hospital? No any back up plan? We have to send the cat to Toronto.
Even the online smart. Vet service is sucks, you need to pay 135dollars for talking to a person through video and they cannot offer any advice, just ask basic useless information instead of giving some advice to save the cat life. Totally scam website. YouTube is much more helpful.
If you guys cannot provide 24/7 service then don’t put the label on.

Uses to be 24hrs. Went there with my injured dog and it was closed. Just so you know the website says 24hrs but they are closed Wednesday from 8 am until Friday's at 2pm. Might want to change the website and every other website that's says you are a 24hr animal hospital. Thanks for letting me drive 30 minutes from out of town for nothing.

The staff were incredibly welcoming, punctual, and our dog was looked after with dignity. I'd recommend their services to everyone

The care they gave my dog before and after surgery was amazing. The surgeon himself called me on more than one occasion to update me or check on my little dog. They even called to check on her on weekends. I am genuinely so impressed.
I can't imagine how busy everyone here is but not one person seemed in a hurry or flustered any time I spoke to them.

My husband and I were recently out of the province and my mother, who was staying with us along with her friend, was watching our Golden Retriever and our son. My mother got some grapes, which we NEVER have, and one dropped on the floor. Our Golden prompt pounced on it and ate it. Our son recognized immediately that the dog wasn’t allowed to eat grapes and called me. I called the Emergency Vet, who directed us to have our beautiful pup brought in immediately as there is no way to know about the toxicity level caused by the grape ingestion. My mother got him there, with the help of a friend of ours. The vet immediately induced vomiting and later gave him charcoal. Our beautiful pup had his kidney function levels tested at our regular vet’s, and he’s fine! Thank goodness for this incredible Emergency Vet service! My mother said the staff were so kind and so great to deal with. I’m very thankful that they were there!

If I could I've 6 stars I would. In 1 hour of diagnostic medicine and an ultrasound they diagnosed what more than one vet and many dollars elsewhere couldn't. Showed me the ultrasound of what's wrong and gave options. Hope I never have to go back but definitely will if its and emergency.

Dr Lam did our dog Shekelles double ACL tear surgeries last year. I am happy to report thankfully to the team Dr Lam, Judith, and all the nurses and staff - Shekelle is now enjoying her golden years and living her best life. I am so thankful for all their hard work, and encouragement when times get tough. We still come for routine therapy with Judith; and we don't know what we would do without her. Thought the staff were friendly and efficient and was very impressed until the vet told me she would hate herself if she couldn’t afford “it” (care) for her two dogs. I was experiencing enough guilt/having a hard enough time making the decision to put down a pet with a poor prognosis after being quoted almost $8000 and being told even with everything it didn’t look good.

As a foster for Animal Aide in St. Thomas I encountered a problem with one of my pregnant moms on Saturday evening. Keep in mind I have witness/assisted with over 100 kittens being born. In this situation my current foster was only 6-8 months herself and was in distress from the beginning of active labour. She had 2 amniotic sacs/kittens coming through the birth canal at the same time with 0 change in station for 1.5 hours. I was advised by the operations manager at Animal Aide to go to the London Regional veterinary Emergency clinic. I packed up my poor pregnant kitten (who in human years is about 12-a 12 year old pregnant would be alarming to the people emergency). Heading in From St. Thomas I thought I’d be a good person and give them a heads up of what was coming their way only to be turned down and told to go to Brantford? !? Isn’t treating emergencies your job? Is it not in your name? Is it not what you get paid for? I was told “we could call in another vet, but we are not there yet”! Are you kidding me? Saturday night with this momma was the worst thing I have ever had to witness or assist with and I work in the shelter and I have had 133 cats and kittens through my house. I will never forget it and how your clinic turned away an animal in distress!

Had to go here from Sarnia after our boy punctured his paw. They were amazing! From the techs to the Vet. We were seen quickly and it was thorough. I wouldn’t hesitate to take my pups here if ever needed!

They are great, they were really nice to my super awesome little dog, (her name is rocko by the way) they seem to really actually care about your animals:) all vets seem to be ridiculously overpriced so there was no difference there but all around I think they deserve 5 stars. And the one vet tech i delt with who has a bunch of plant tattoos is really nice, also I like her tattoos ;)

I am absolutely disgusted with this emergency vet my dog went into labor and was having trouble I called 5 times throughout with concerns about the distance between puppies and they kept tell me to wait. Called for the last time because nothing was happening and then was told they have no one to do surgery what kind of energy vet has no one to do surgery now I have lost all puppies but one and could possibly lose my dog aswel because of being told she is fine and to just wait

Absolutely exceptional service. Even after hours on a holiday weekend, the staff made every effort to make sure that both us and our dog were cared for. Everyone that looked after us was incredibly kind and caring and took time to discuss and explain options for care and then provided unparalleled professional medical care for our dog. (The costs as well were completely reasonable.) Thank you so much to everyone who helped us through a really really difficult night.

I arrived at 6 30.approximately.i was not seen for 3.5 hours as they wanted 1500.00 up front.when I called they said there was a payment option.no such case
My cat was in a carrier.the wall beside waiting room was being demolished.the noise was extreme.my cat suffered trauma

No one was ahead of me in line.

My cat is 18.i just wanted an assessment.they just refused to assess my cat unless I paid 107.00 plus 1500.00

The process to get emergency help for your pet is very frustrating and extremely poorly executed. So much red tape and hoops to jump though by the time you are allowed to take in your pet (assuming they even call you back) chances are your vet clinic will be open. Ridiculous and useless each time I've needed to take my sick dog in.

Working off referrals only when your pet has an emergency at 12: 30 am and your vet isn't open how do you get a referral.impossible.this place is a rip off.they over charge and now won't even see your pets.don't take your pets here.

The staff is incredible. They understand your feelings and will help your pet. They will be there for you and your pet in your times of emergency needs.

I have an emergency with a cat in pain and I'm denied care and was told to use an online Smart vet when I know and told them my cat will needs hands on care thanks alot glad to know I can't take my pets anywhere in an emergency.

We took our dog here due to obstruction after our family vet told us Friday that they tried blood work and if the dog got sick after trying to eat again it was to be considered an emergency and to take her to emergency vet and that this means she likely does have an obstruction.
So our dog did throw up again after trying one bite she has been able to eat for days and turned us away today saying their too busy and unless the dog is hit by a car we are not getting in! Just wow

They told us to goto Guelph and we explained all we need is an X-ray to confirm obstruction then surgery can be scheduled later but she is suffering and we need help but since they indicated mortal injury or car accident only we were refused after calling them and waiting around for over an hour we now have to travel hours away.and start over.

Do NOT expect help from this vet it is turning away emergencies and not reliable or professional.

The best caring staff to help you through some of the most difficult times. They allowed me to take my time saying goodbye to my beautiful little girl.

On our last day with our family cat, I waited in the waiting room by myself (2 chairs present) while my wife went to a different room to see her cat for the last time before being put to rest. One staff member told me "no one can be in the waiting room, due to covid" and asked me to leave the building. Even though my wife asked prior if it was ok if my husband be in the waiting room for support and was given the ok, another staff member still kicked me out. Apparently staff doesn't communicate with each other and the excuses started flying why this happened.

Find an alternative if you value respect. Reading the numerous other 1 star reviews by this veterinary hospital I definately would take your pet elsewhere.

A dog vomiting and excreting blood cannot be seen by a vet. Instead, they want you to go online and pay $85 to NOT see a vet in person. Seriously, this place is criminal. Filing a complaint with the College of Veterinarians of Ontario and lawsuit to follow. We’re from out of town, there’s no other vet available to see my dog. Shame on you, this is a pathetic clinic which should be shut down outright.

They were so kind and gentle with my old dog Shyloh. He was 15 and tired, he and I knew it was time. Its an experience I will never forget. It was done with so much dignity and respect. I don't remember the Vets name or her assistants but I will always remember their kindness. Dot Kittelberger

Amazing and caring service. My family could not afford to put down our 16 year old dog, so they offered a compassionate euthanasia to help us out. Everyone was so kind and understanding of our situation and made the experience as good as it could be. Our tech carefully explained all the steps, which really helped. [They] were great, every visit. First in 2004, when my cat Angel was struck by a car. The staff were all so kind and even let me say goodbye.

2nd time, for a mama cat with a swollen mammary gland.

3rd, in 2011 for my cat Kratos, who had a blocked urinary tract.

My family and I have even dropped off an unknown cat that had been struck and left on the side of the road to die. They ushered them in without hesitation and took care of them.

Only thing I will say, as far as negatives go, the prices are obscene (re: cost of veterinarians as a whole, not just this emerg).

My dog was choking and they wouldn’t let us in unless we went on some stupid app. This so called “emergency” vet put our poor dog in further danger by wasting time. They even told us it didn’t sound like a real emergency as he didn’t sound like he was in distress. It’s heartbreaking knowing he could have choked to death over this.

We unfortunately had to put down our dog and the service, care and compassion from the entire staff was outstanding and went above and beyond on making this hard decision as respectful and easy as one can

All staff are so kind and compassionate. Covid has affected everything, so the triage/waiting in your car process is hard when you have a sick pet but this is expected at any after hours service.

The staff/technicians are VERY KIND, AND SINCERELY EMPATHETIC TOWARDS ALL ANIMALS AND THEIR OWNERS! This would have been a 5 star review however, the wait times are ridiculous for an emergency animal hosptial! We arrived at 6pm- their open time. They took her vitals at about 530 or 6pm. They sent us home with a extended 2 to 4 hour waiting period. I get the call to head back to the hospital around 10pm and they knew we live in St. Thomas. Anyways, we got there and they had my cat from 11pm to 345AM! She has a uti with crystals in it. At that hour when there was 3 cars, i just didn't understand why it took so long when no new cases were coming in.

Absolutely useless, Why do i have to pay 85 dollars for a consultation fee when my dog needs help immediately. I'm not going to recommend this place to anyone.

All the staff were excellent here & especially the Dr. (she had the best bedside manner!) when I had to bring my poor 15 yr.old dog Buddy here Saturday night after hours to sadly put him down. The after service they connect you with is easy to use and really helps you make all those final touches complete. I've been here before 4 yrs ago for physical therapy for Buddy & they helped immensely & he recovered and didn't need an expensive operation (not that we wouldn't pay it if needed). Trust your precious pets here!

I took my dog here last night due to a large cut on his ear. I called ahead, and they said they had a long wait. When I got there, they determined he was stable and to wait at home, and I would be called 8-10 hours later.

Fortunately, I was able to get in elsewhere. The vet said there was a significant piece of tissue missing from his ear. Had I waited 8-10 hours to be seen, it wouldn't have healed properly.

There were probably a couple of quick and easy things they could have done - one being surgical glue. It could have held until they were able to see me. I realize the hospital was busy, but they should have done something until he could be properly cared for.

Long waits and more than double the price of a regular vet for simple exams. We took one of our cats there because it was the only place open on the weekend. They wanted to keep our cat for few days of "observation" - for $2800 - with no real reason or expected outcome. Just to see what happens. If it's an emergency ok, otherwise avoid this place. I was not comfortable with their diagnosis and confirmed with my regular Vet on Monday that this was not the right course of action.

The staff I dealt with this evening were absolutely amazing I could not have thanked them enough I had to have my fur baby put to sleep and they were compassionate and very caring I was a mess they made a hard situation alittle less terrible Thank you

Warning - as others have commented, the team here are expert at turning your pet's misfortunes into their profits. Don't be vulnerable to "whatever it costs treatment". We all love our pets, but unfortunately money often won't solve their problems. In my case the said treatment plan was totally unnecessary and only an emergency in the eyes of my friend who was scared. This clinic took full advantage of his distress and hosed him down.

Absolute disaster. Bleeding dog can't be seen. Instead want you to pay $85 to subscribe to a website rather than actually see the animal. This is not an emergency service. It is a scam. It is negligence. Zero compassion for hurting animals. You are ABSOLUTELY DISCUSTING and should have your porefessional designation revoked. I will file a complaint with the veterinary college. Unacceptable and disgraceful lazy money grabbing behaviour

We had very prompt, kind and compassionate care for our kitty, with a known life threatening illness. Sadly, he was at the end of his life for which they provided very caring and compassionate care and appropriate updates and information to us during his stay. We would not hesitate to use the clinic again if an emergency arose outside the working hours of our regular vet.

If they weren't an emergency vet, they would be my regular vet! I had to take my dog in for hot spots on a weekend. It was pretty bad, and I was very concerned. There was a 24-hour wait, but when he was seen, everyone who dealt with me and my dog, Eugene, was extremely nice and caring.

I had further questions and concerns, so phoned back later that night after he was treated. The vet herself was glad to answer my call and questions. I had more concerns a few days later that my own vet couldn't answer, telling me to contact the emergency vet. When I called back, I felt like the receptionist had more knowledge than my current vet. Even days later, they were happy to help me. My dog is healing and quickly becoming his old self again.

Amazingly professional environment, great care and really reasonable rates considering they specialize in after-hour care. Sick pets are stressful, and they make the experience easy with quick phone responses, great communication, and an overall sense that they care about you and your situation.
