Good was not very tasty, not hot, and dry. I won't go again. It was not like I remember

Good food and service.can get buy sometimes so parking can fill up.its been there for 25 years or so they must be doing something right.

I was here not too long ago, I had a great time, the atmosphere was amazing, The food was cooked perfectly, and The bartender Moonlight was friendly and kept me company at the bar despite in training, cant commend her people skills well enough!

They put raw steak on my nachos, it was bloody and we didn’t touch it, she said wouldnt take off the bill if they ate the majority of it. We touched none of the steak and ate the nachos as topping all the steak was still on the plate. Super disappointed as we spent over $130

Bad service. Long wait on uncooked wings. Enchiladas weren't too bad tho. Squeezed all customers on one side of establishment. One of the worst birthday dinners 54ys

It’s average, the service has been going down hill the past couple of months. They have live band on certain nights and don’t warn you prior to being sat on the patio, so mid way through our meal it sounds like Karaoke.

Trouble was absolutely amazing! She made our dine in experience so enjoyable and that’s not even including the food.

The food was very tasty!

Food was pretty decent. I slammed a “Big Rig” and a Modelo. Shoutout to “Trouble” who blessed me with plenty of hydration, as I was quite parched. Overall a good experience. Would come back, eventually.

I've been going to Lone Star Pickering for many years and it never disappoints. The new and fresh Margarita flavors they keep coming up with are so delicious, and the fajitas are just as savory as ever. I highly recommend

No thanks.sat for over a hour waiting for our meals while big groups that came after us were served quickly their meals before us, my husband and kids felt uncomfortable I would never come here again should Mabey put a sign up stating only certain members of the public are welcomed.

I honestly wasn’t expecting good food here, but I was quite surprised. The fish tacos were amazing! I got the pickle slaw on the side which was also good, just wish the portion size was a bit bigger, but overall I will return here in the future!

Really nice place, the food was really good, the attention was excellent, definitely a place to go back!

I generally don't leave bad reviews, and in fact 4 years ago left a good review for this location. Been coming here for years and my experience has been getting worse. Had to return some food (something was found cooked into the food) after waiting much too long for it. Dining room was half empty. Our service staff never came to check in while we waiting and was much to hard to find her. The food was good when it arrived (aside from the one meal that was sent back). They did remove that item from the bill. Have been here dozens of times over the years and sad to see the quality and service go down. I will likely give it another shot because I have had many good experiences over the last 10 years but very hesitant considering my last visit.

Good food and fast service. My wife & I are often in and out in under forty minutes having eaten a full meal.

Glacially slow service even though the restaurant was empty. Missed one ordered item and one item was entirely incorrect. Not sure what was happening but I would think this was a bit embarrassing for this restaurant

Visited here for a friends birthday recently (group of 7)

We sat in the bar area at a bigger table.
The hostess gave us the choice to sit outside but it looked like it might rain.

We had the worst service from our server. At times it took her over 30mins to check on the table and when she would come to clear plates, cups etc, she wouldn’t even have the decency to ask if we needed anything else.

What made it even worse was the air conditioner was broken so the restaurant was disgustingly hot. It got so hot inside that we went through the patio door just to get some fresh air.

The manager came to scold us about going through the back door and letting all the hot air in! A table of 7 adults in their early to mid 30’s getting scolded by the manager about opening the back door is a little pathetic and it made us feel like we were little kids.

Horrible service! We paid our bills and went across the street to Chucks Road House where it was nice and cool and WAYYY better service.

10/10 would NOT recommend.

I can’t say I am surprised cause of the name, I should have known better. First off as soon as you walk in the staff forget they are being paid to be there, they seem like they have a attitude. They take offence to you asking any questions, they don’t even believe in their own product.

The food was a catastrophe in the making. My burger was hard and tasted like it was sitting it the freezer for months before they brought it out. The fries also taste off for some reason. This establishment is one that I will never be returning to.

First time there. The food was delicious and we went there for my sister's Birthday.
Everyone loved the food. The kids really enjoyed the nachos that are brought to the table before your dinner is even ordered.
What we all really noticed was the service. Our server aka 'Trouble' was amazing. We felt like we were regulars just from the way we were treated. That kind of service comes from someone really special. Jayden! (hope I spelt your name right) Thank you for making my sister's day a little bit extra special. To the rest of the staff working thanks for singing happy birthday to her.
This review is for the Lone Star located in Pickering Ontario.

The nachos were great as a starter, the ribs were ok - Not great, just ok. And the pinacolada, my goodness. It was HORRIBLE! I cloud not take it. Am not sure what went wrong and this being my first time to this site, I wasn't thrilled by the experience in general. I have had lovely refreshing pinacoladas at another texas grill that kept me going back for years, I thought I would be the same boy was I wrong. The people are good though, waitress was great did her job pretty well but the overall experience was not the best. Am not certain I can recommend this site though I know Texas grill have a high standard, at least the ones I have been too. Just not this site.

Love this place, but WOW portions have gotten smaller and prices have gone up. The steak fajita was 5 slices of meat if not less. Not sure I want to pay 30$ for fajitas unfortunately. The sides are sad to say the least. It comes with a tea spoon of guac, sour cream and salsa. 30$ for a dime of guacamole HAHA it's even funny when you say it out loud.

Came her for the first time. Great atmosphere to hang out

They have a great deal after 9pm for appetizer for 1/2 price and drinks are cheap, beer for minimum $3 to 10.and Friday red wine soefial for $5. Deals everyday.

Our server was very atttenive and kind.   Only thing we did not like is our steak bites.it was kinda fry and chewy.

Nachos and chicken wings is great.

This place was good, Server was new but she was proper and very professional.made our birthday dinner very special.the food, well it was average, some items were ok and some i would never order again.overall not a bad place if u want tex mex.

Location is horrible, service and food was meh. Nothing special. Seemed to have way to many staff and only a few tables full, so was annoying to have waitresses walking by every minute. Only 1 single stall washroom. I feel like the food is better in other locations as well as the layout. Table was tight.give some more space. The rice was disgusting felt hard.
My waitress was nice though but your hostess is awful. Not friendly no smile nothing and when she seated us she put the menu so close to my face I had to literally just breathe so I didn't react to her. Lone Star was on my top 3 restaurants, but I will not return to this location at all, if I ever go back it will won't be in these ends.sad because I was looking forward to this.

The service was great and the portions were huge for the price. I was a little disappointed with the taste of my tacos as they were a little 'blah". Also, the amount of salsa you get with the complimentary chips is way too small.

All in all, it was a good experience and I won't hesitate to go back and try something different.

Decided we needed a night out a few weeks ago and both my wife and I wanted tacos or fajitas. We decided on fajitas and immediately thought of Lone Star.

We were greeted by an amazing hostess (Loco). This girl is so full of energy and has a great attitude. So helpful and personable as well.

We started off with some margaritas and chips followed by deep fried pickles and of course, the fajitas for two. The tortillas are so fresh here and it makes all the difference. The chicken fajitas were quite filling so we actually had some leftover to take home.

Again, a great shout out to Loco for making our experience one to remember.

Georgia was honestly awesome She stayed late just to help us out and had some super cool recommendations to try out (I'm a big peanut butter fan actually so I'll definitely give it an attempt)

Honestly, this review would probably be 4 stars, but the amazing service, kindness and just overall experience was fantastic. You guys should give Georgia a raise, seriously, no joke if I didn't live an hour away I would definitely be visiting here often 5/5 's

Slow Monday but staff not present. Ordered food and got first and only unlimited nachos, never asked if we wanted more. Food arrived and our soft drinks were empty, not offered refill as they left soo fast. Had to wave them down to get refills, again not offered nachos, and had to go find them to pay bill. Main course was cold - Chicken Chimichangas, and onion rings were over fried and uneatable. I gave it two stars because at least it was nice inside.

Service was good! Food on the other hand not so much. The tortillas we got had a lot of raw dough, whoever is making them isn’t making sure they are cooked through. We literally had to pick out all the dough parts. We got the Texas family meal and the meat was blend. Not enough for three people as it states on the menu.

My boyfriend and I ordered separate things and the portions left us full for hours! I got the chicken wrap and he got the double burger. Both fresh and warm. Then we got the margaritas! They were really cold which was nice but it probably had too much ice, but I’m not complaining! Made the mistake of ordering from Skip the Dishes next time I’ll do it from their website!

We usually get the family for 4 pack of Fajitas take out. The prices have gone up dramatically and the quantity of chicken has gone down. The containers are packed with vegetables and a thin layer of chicken. I have to say it is very tasty however is not worth its price at all.

I was let down to be honest. It had been a while since we were in due to Covid. However apparently 2 - 11 person walk ins arrived just before us. We had a table of 2 in the bar area which was fine.once seated I noticed the last across from me had her man's jacket wrapped around her legs. Took what seemed like forever to get our 1 drink and lunch order in and forever just to leave. There was no bar tender and little support for the staff there.

Short staffed caused poor service let alone it was freezing in there.

My lunch was good and my drink was good. But it was a one and done because I was practically sitting on my hands. It felt like a door was open and a draft going through the place.

The pomegranate margarita is a must try! It's absolutely delicious! And so was the BBQ chicken fingers. Really had a great evening.

I received undercooked chicken wings yesterday evening from Lone Star, Pickering location, when I ordered through Uber Eats. I called the manager and she said that she would speak with the cook. The meat is raw with blood. I sent the manager a picture on her phone so she could see also. It is so important to cook food thoroughly, especially meat. This can make people very sick. Will not order food from here again.

Ate here recently with my wife and kids. The food was overpriced and not very good. The bathrooms were clean, at least. Our server was helpful at first but the nowhere to be found when needed, despite there not being hardly anyone else in the restaurant. The only part of my meal I enjoyed was the "free" chips and salsa brought to the table when we sat down. My ribs were overcooked and also didn't taste right. Beans were bland as heck. Fries were soggy. Coleslaw was creamy but somehow bland. Just a bad experience all around.

Service was very good and friendly, but also very slow. Food quality was very good, but they need to increase the portion sizes of their fajitas. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience

On a Tuesday evening they were unable to accept anything but cash. The managers attitude was completely unacceptable and rude about the situation, considering we would had to leave and drive to get cash she could have been much nicer. When we got our fajitas the shells and rice were cold they were terrible.

Overall it was not a fun experience, there are much better tasting restaurants with nicer management to go out while in Pickering.

The food here is not good. The service is not good either.

There used to be rats at this restaurant back in the early 2000s.

Visited this place after many years. It was a bright and sunny day to try some Mexican food. It was OK and service was good.

Came in for Appy hour. First time. Girl thought I was for SkipTheDishes lol. Sat bar side, lots of flies. Ordered a beer and wings (Appy hour menu). Was shocked that wings didn't come with dip. Has anyone ever had hot wings without dip? Anyway I asked for ranch dip and was charged $1.50. I get we are coming out of a pandemic but seriously? Food was ok, experience was ok.

My son and I went today and the fajitas.my God are to die for. I've never had a bad experience here. The food, the server are fantastic. We had Hunter today (same name as my son!) and she was super! Very pleasant and chatty! My only minor complaint is that a restaurant for that size needs more than one washroom! I don't know why there is one women and one men washrooms? Anyway we will definitely be back!

Pretty decent local spot for steak and tex-mex. Not a great steak by any stretch of the imagination but it'll do at this price point. Onion ring and mushrooms were on point.

We went in and I ordered the Chimichanga and they were out of Chimichangas, But I was glad when I tried the Fajita Bowl. Omg it was amazing. Thank you for letting me try your new menu items?
There was a few issues though:
Draft beer was not cold.
Most importantly, the chefs in the back could be seen by us as there are windows. They were preparing their food with their Masks on their Chins. Their nose nor mouth were covered.
Also their was a server sitting at the table wrapping silverware in napkins with No Masks on. Not Cool. Please keep your customers safe and healthy!

I recently visited this Lone Star location in Pickering with a buddy of mine for some mid afternoon drinks and food! The drinks were great as was the food. Our waitress was very nice but he was the only one working in the entire restaurant which obviously is extremely challenging for her and it also doesn't help the overall customer experience. I understand that stuffing is a challenge as restaurants reopen post lockdown and plan to go back!

Ordered takeout.servers had no idea what is or isnt available on takeout menu.then waited for 30 minutes after the order was already out at counter. 2 people checked on the status of order.did not communicate with us.food was sitting on counter in a bag getting cold for over 10 min

Met up for dinner with one of my besties for the first time in over 1.5 years. The hostess wasn’t very welcoming. We mentioned we had a reservation for indoor but preferred outdoor if they had it. She looked outside and said yah there’s 2 tables take any one. So we sat down. It wasn’t that busy at all. After 20 mins of waiting, not a single waitress came over to offer us water or to tell us that they would be looking after us. I finally went back inside and told the hostess that we hadn’t been acknowledged by anyone. She looked over at another hostess and was like oh um ok hold on. No apologies. I went back and sat down and another 5 mins passed and still nothing. Finally a nice waitress came over and said hi sorry I’m going to be your waitress now and I said well you’re the first one! She was very nice and friendly. The food was good, but my friend ordered lettuce wraps in place of her tortillas for her fajitas and all the ones brought over were tiny. I don’t know if I would return. Minus our server, the customer care was lacking.

Went for margaritas and appetizers. It wasn't busy at the time, I guess we made it in time just before the dinner rush. We ordered the Pineapple Colada and Toasted Marshmallow margaritas along with the deep fried pickles and chips & queso. The food was alright, the deep fried pickles were thinly coated and the chips & queso were a bit cold, so nothing special about them. The drinks were underwhelming. You can definitely taste the syrup from the artificial flavours from both the margaritas and majority of it was at the bottom of the drink, so you get that sugary taste. The server was SUPER slow. We got a table in the patio immediately when we walked in, but took at least 15-20mins for our server to come greet us and take our drink orders. Once our food arrived, by someone else, we asked if we can get a couple waters, and the girl dismissed us and dryly said to let our server know, who at that time was nowhere to been seen for the longest time. It also took another 20-25mins to get our bill. Overall, the experience was very mediocre. Getting food and drinks to-go would've been a better idea.

Our first time here, the host could have done a better job making us to feel more welcome after saying it’s our first time ever dining in any lone star, Bronco was awesome! He was sincere, genuine, consistent, great attitude, attentive, personable, me and my Wife were out for date night, he made the experience positive we appreciate that, I’ve served before and worked in FOH/BOH, I can recognize a fellow hard worker and taking care of things properly, you guys are lucky to have him, give him a raise, it’s hard to find good help, thanks Bronco and keep up the great work! If your not already a supervisor or trainer by now you should be. He embodied the type of service all restaurants should strive for especially after a pandemic and drawing people back out spending. Look forward to be back and ask for you Bronco. Whoever hired you knows how to find an asset.

First time going to Lonestar in Pickering. Great place, very spacious inside and their patio was well spread out to accommodate social distancing guidelines. Our server was friendly and attentive which was great. I ordered the chicken chimichanga with onion rings. The portion was a decent size and it was very tasty. We also order churros for dessert, which came out warm and fresh. I would definitely recommend visiting this place again.

I got takeout on Sunday, Father's Day around 2pm, but, the service was.but the food was great though.

The food was great, we got the Mexican poutine, enchiladas and fajitas. All items were tasty and served warm but the food is not what stood out.

The service was spectacular! Our host Dixie always came by at the perfect time to check whether we needed anything or if everything was okay! She made sure we had everything we needed and apologized for our appetizer taking too long to come out and removed it from our bill even though we knew it wasn’t her fault and didn’t ask for any form of compensation. We could not have asked for a better dining experience!

I’m not a huge fan of lone star but I would recommend this location to anyone solely for the service, will definitely be coming back for another great night out!

Staff are always friendly, even when ordering take out. I cannot wait for their dine-in to open again

Very disappointed. I show up at 8: 50 with a cousin that came from Quebec to hand out for a few days. There were maybe 3-4 other tables occupied on patio. Looked like one coupe just sat down as they still had menus and the hostess said they could not seat us if we didn't have a reservation. I asked if they were booked and she said no they just weren't serving anymore walk-ins tonight. If there is 75% of your patio tables open, you are still open for another 1.5- 2 hours and no reservations booked why would you turn downs 4 people who want to catch up share an app and have a couple drinks. Seems like a great way to kill a business.

Really nice place friendly staff! So cute how they serve nachos and dip when you get seated. The atmosphere is nice and food is pretty good with lots of options!

Ordered through skip. Portions were awful. Missing items in our order & toppings on the items we did receive. Everything was cold & stale. Didn’t follow any instructions. Will never order again or recommend to anyone. Ya’ll suck and ruined my Mother’s Day.

Tasty Tex Mex.can't go wrong with the Fajita platter.and they can never give you enough of the fresh salsa for your nacho chips.

I love the torts at this place but I always have to wait. So today I called ahead and still had to wait 10 minutes. I called 15 minutes ahead of time. All I am ordering is the torts, it took a total 25 minutes. Not sure why it takes so long.

It was my first time going to Lonestar, food was excellent, everyone in my party had a similar view on their food. The service was superb, and the waitstaff were extremely friendly and safe and very pleasing to the eye.

Really bad experience! If I could, I would put no star! Not because of the food, but because of the bad service we received. First, one of the host was disrespectful and talked with attitude. We were a group of 9 who wanted to have a dinner in the patio and they refused us, but accepted another group of the same number of people in the patio after us. Discrimination against people of colour need to stop! When we asked for explanations, each employee gave us a different excuses, they didn’t know what to say.

Had the ranch burger with special fries. Fries where good. But not the burger too much salt felt it afterwards never ordering the burger again. Serve me right from trying something new. Will go back with my fajitas n stay with I love!

Always buy large bag of Tortillas chips to take home gf loves making nachos with them.

Usually great service, but very slow this time, saying that we did have a larger party of 10, but most of the restaurant was empty. There was no attempt by manager to apologize for the seemingly unnecessary delay.infact I'm not sure there was even a manager working. I will be back, and hopefully it was just an off day, we all have them right?

I felt discriminated because one of the servers was giving attitude and not everyone else. My server’s name Corona.

I really appreciated the service. They made sure my dish was made separate due to my allergies. It means a lot when they care for their customers.

The Buffalo Fajitas were great, lots of add one to create your own fajitas. Love the Texas Butter hot sauce, lots of heat without sacrificing flavor. Tortillas are made fresh on view in the restaurant, super fresh and soft

Pricey but portions are huge, averaged $33/person including tip. We had 10 people in our sitting so pretty much everything on the menu was ordered. Steaks, ribs, chicken, fajitas, burgers and all the sides were top notch delicious! I'd recommend this restaurant.

There is a reason its called a lone star.hence the rating. Ordered nachos with chicken and son ordered a burger (he didnt specify burnt) he took one bite and said i cant eat this. We slid it to the end of the table and several waitresses walked by without a word. No one came til I took a picture of it. No sign of a manager, waitress offered to remove the meal and give a free dessert. We obviously declined as they may make that inedible as well. The food took approx 25 min to come.no wonder it got burnt.best find a new manager who can run the place. On a positive.neither of us got sick.yet.

Our server was great. She stayed on the ball with a table of 4 adults and 3 kids. Food was ok but pricey for what you get. Sunday at 6pm and it wasnt very busy at all.kind of tells a story, when a year ago you would have waited an hour.minimum.

We are not happy as we walked in there and the music was so loud you felt like you're in a discotheque. Where they put us to sit the music box with right above our heads. We would have loved to have sat in a booth but it was too loud we couldn't even speak to each other across the table. When looking at the menu it was really nothing to go in there and have a quick snack as that's what we're looking for. We had to inquire if there was any soup or side salads that we could have a long ways are drink. I really would not recommend going there unless you were super hungry and as for the music we think they turned it down a bit but not that much. Like really guys do you need to have music that loud on a Saturday afternoon?

Do not go to this location! Hair is salsa, not once but twice, two separate batches. $20 salad had two long pieces of romaine lettuce, lettuce was brown and green peppers were rotten. The place is out of control, employees walking and talking to each other.list goes on! Do not go, trust me.

My experience today was not good. We get there at noon, 4 of us, order our meal and choose our side to be the tortilla soup as offered on the menu. It takes a long time for the soup to come as it should be served before the main course. Finally after about 30 minutes they tell us they have run out of soup. There was only 4 other people in the restaurant - how could they run out of soup with 4 people in the place and it's just passed noon? They probably didn't even make it is what we thought! The beef was bland as testified by my husband (steak & guacamoli sandwich) and mother-in-law (in a wrap). A B-52 was ordered by my daughter-in-law and it was COLD. No Salt or pepper on the table. Will choose another place next time.

About as close as you can get to Mexican up here, though more like Tex-Mex. Drink and appetizer specials after 9pm are a good deal.

It's was mostly ok. We were seated quickly. Or drinks arrived in a reasonable time but then the service went downhill fast. Our server seemed to be everywhere working and didn't seem to have enough time for anyone. We ordered queso as an app and it was horrible. It's tasted like they made some KD cheese sauce, threw it in a dish to heat up and tossed some tomatoes in it. The fajitas we ordered were very good. One was chicken and the other was steak. Both delicious!

Fajitas were good but they were very very cheap wi4h the chicken. The buffalo chicken literally looked like one chicken strip that was very thinly sliced (i mean like deli sandwich slice thin).

Not sure if this is the case every time but it truly angered me that was was recieving very thin pieces of chicken there were 3 or 4 thin pieces and the remainser were shreds. For that garbage and 4 tortillas and a spoon full of other toppings.it is definitely not worth the price.

I am not a fan of lone star. I went for a birthday party. But I will be fair. Service was great. Food was not bad. Just not my kind of place.

I'm so glad that our friend re-introduced me to this restaurant. It is family friendly and their fajitas were delicious. The portions are generous and we left the place happy.

The servers were polite and attentive.

They provide the kids with dough to play with which kept them busy and got their creative juices going.

The best Steak Fajitas by far. Freshly made tortillas is an added plus. Great deal when you order Lunch special before 3pm.

Waited about 10 min upon arriving for table to be cleaned. Was not busy @ all. Ordered a drink $ that took some time. Put my meal order. 45 min later our order came. Ice CD. No sign of our waiter. Asked a waitress for a container to go. Finnally our waiter showed up & said sorry for the wait.wpuld you like anything g else. I said yes, my bill please.wasn, too impressed with a bill of $67, cold meal & left hungry.

Food is good but expensive. Waiter was very quick to bring the bill and we haven't even ordered the desert.

The fajitas here are so delicious! I’ve been a repeat customer for years. 10/10 recommend the steak fajitas with molé sauce!
