Rented 2 canoes for a weekend backcountry trip to Vixen lake. We arrived on Saturday morning and received our canoes quickly. Clear and concise instructions from the folks running the rentals. Boats were in good condition and we were on the water quick.
I’ve known the owners for decades. It’s been a pleasure getting to know them, even when I was just camping down the lake instead of at the cottage. Picked up some nice worms to take to the backwoods and talk fishing and weather.
We rented canoes from Friday 5pm to Sunday 5pm. We booked for 2 whole days thinking that our rental was from Friday to Sunday but when we arrived they said that Friday was counted as a whole day (eventhough we had the canoe at 5pm) so we had to book another day last minute and nothing was specified on the website. Moreover they asked for a $1000 deposit for each canoe. It is unfortunate that they don't tell us in advance. They said that the map is included in the rental cost but you have to pay for it on site. Except the miss-communication everything was great.
It was easy to book our canoes on the website; they were ready to go when got to the lake; they got us set up with PFDs and paddles quickly, and; the return was painless. The guys were great.
We rented two canoes for our backcountry camping, everything was organized. Online Booking was easy, whenever we called, they always picked up the phone and guided us, great customer service and attitude. Thank you.
Great service, got our canoes, with jackets and paddles fitted, and on our way. A great location - Long Lake feeds into Louks Lake with no need to portage, and together they're the start point of four canoe routes.
Such a wonderful and blessed place to find serenity and peace ️. Some of the best canoeing and kayaking and hiking and camping I have been on in years.this is coming from someone who lives on Vancouver Island British Columbia. I flew to go there and I will be back! ️

Please explain how should we understand that renting 2 days starting Friday at 5PM means that we should return the canoes on Saturday and not on Sunday.
Good quality, lightweight kevlar canoe; online booking and pick up were easy with no problems. The canoe was in excellent shape and the owners were friendly.
It is particularly convenient that you can access Kawartha Highlands Park right from the Long Lake beach where you rent the canoes. Long Lake Lodge staff cheerfully refunded money for canoe rentals, even though I only cancelled 2 days in advance. I made arrangements for their truck to pick us up at Anstruther Lake access point for a later trip and they were very accommodating in accepting changes to our schedule with only a few hours notice. The kevlar canoes and other equipment that they rented to us were in excellent condition.
We rented canoes and a kayak from Long Lake Cottages. They are well stocked with a variety of canoe options, and each canoe rental includes the safety kit, life jackets and paddles. Staff is knowledgeable and attentive.
Rented Canoes for a weekend backcountry trip. Great Customer Service! Canoes are on good shape. Really enjoyed our weekend at Kawartha Lakes. Would definitely return, next time we're back at this park
Everything was friendly and easy with the canoe rentals and the boats were in good shape. Needed to make a couple adjustments to reservations and had no issues.
It was an awesome experience! Three days in the woods, in absolutely gorgeous nature, weird sounds of birds and animals, beautiful sunrise and black stary nights. For me personally the only minus were mosquitos, none of repellents helped.
Rented 16 Paluski poly canoe for an overnight trip in Kawartha Highlands. Friendly staff, answered all my questions regarding parking and registering with the provincial park before putting in.
