The has for 30+ yrs been my favorite and imo the best music store around.but they seriously have to do something about the business hrs. CHANGE them.you would think that they would know a little of the musician, or someone learning.if they are working a 9 to 5pm job L and D's hrs might give them an hour to rush during rush hr to get there on time. Others would most likely sleep in until noon or 2pm ish. Being open from noon till 9pm would be 100% more logical.it make's me wonder if anyone that works there has ever lived a music lifestyle.a 3 star rating might be a couple stars to high.

Always a pleasant visit, no matter what you are looking for, you will always be treated as a distinguished guests. The staff are great. Last time I remember Dwight was very helpful locating one violin book, and this time Blair was super helpful, finding an e string for us, changing the string, giving us advice on how to better tune, adjusting other strings and shining the violin case. I am so impressed by the professional services and client-oriented services. A music store with such an amazing team is unbeatable! Will definitely recommend!

Staff are super friendly and helpful. Evelyn in particular answered my email inquiry quickly and when I showed up she was very helpful. She restrung my violin and helped me out with beginner information which I am so appreciative of!

She also set my partner up with renting a sax and the process was quick, simple and easy. Definitely recommend seeing Evelyn and coming to this location!

I'm 58 and have been going to this store when it was located at Major and Bloor, so 44 years and counting! A very long and trusting relationship me and the L&M team have had.

AMAZING STOCK FOR BAND NERDS! Although the store was a bit confusing to navigate as they have different entrances for different sections, the stock was great! (They had an OBOE PIN and BAND ORNAMENTS!)

I went to this location to grab a set of guitar strings, the salespeople made eye contact as eye walked around, eventually approached me, and I got my strings. I then decided to purchase a heavily discounted item on a whim. The sale item couldn't be found so they grabbed a different one, which was brand new, and gave it the same discount. I got a great deal because of great sales people. Based on how quick and easy they made it for me, despite them probably loosing money, i am giving 5 stars and recommending folks to visit this location.

I bought a practice amp and a bass pedal here. Robb and the whole team were of great help. I did not feel rushed. They answered all my questions despite the store being busy. I brought in my old vintage bass to get it priced and the in house technician/ luthier took the time to help me out.

The peeps at this store are amazing. Everyone is so helpful and can direct you to what you need quickly and in a very friendly manner. The store is also very clean and organized both at street level and in the basement. It is an absolute joy visiting this location.

Guys downstairs found the last one drum I came for and ran out to get me back from the car. Very hard working and polite. They take great care of customers.

I mean, they’re doing really good what they’re good at, you pay for what you get and with a high standard of professionalism.

Store is overall good. Some Sales staff are helpful and easy to deal with. Some of them need to show more respect and politeness to long-term customers.

Guitar repair department is a bit hard to communicate with. Did not like the attitude, a little bit awkward. Maybe the one I was talking to just doesn't know about customer service.

When I brought my guitar to them, the person at the electric guitar repairs asked me whether I paid for the strings. I mean: "No, I just took them for free. I never pay for anything in the store just so you know". It was a joke.

This was ridiculous. He asked me a ton of questions, I felt like signing up for a job rather than leaving my guitar for repairs. Do not recommend, repair your stuff somewhere else! Not at this location!

Been going to L&M for over a decade now and I have always had great service. Staff are always friendly and knowledgable. Today's visit was no exception. I needed a low cost item to isolate my amp (which I was surprised to find has no headphone jack) for practice purpose. I was helped by Julia who recommended me a headphone amp which crucially was affordable for my budget. I cannot recommend this place enough.

I don't normally gush about a store (like ever) but Long & McQuade are in a category of their own. I went and purchased a surprise gift for a friend but wanted to prevent him purchasing the same item before I could give him my gift (several days hence due to organizing a special get-together). Long & McQuade went out of their way to ensure that that wouldn't happen. Ie special semi-hidden note in his store record. All done with not only a smile but understanding my need to surprise my friend. After leaving the store I reflected on how unusual their accommodating attitude was. I was and remain very grateful and a little in awe - normally it is all about making the sale and then move on to the next customer. Not here - they actually care about their customers and not just the sale. Thank you!

I had my classical guitar restrung here for such a reasonable price compared to other local guitar stores! The service was so quick (just had to wait 20 mins) and they did a quality job!

I'm still working on building my mini studio so once I get done buying and renting what's I need I'll post pics. But so far it's been a pleasure working with knowledgeable people.

I am a 50+ year old man that plays guitar just for fun (I'm not a musician). I bought a guitar online after checking many reviews (including YouTube videos). Unfortunately the guitar I bought did not fulfill my needs.

Thankfully I was able to exchange it in the store were I was treated like a valued customer by everyone starting with the young man custodian of the parking lot.

In particular Matt, in the acoustic guitar section, immediately identified the issue and my real needs. He advised me on which guitar will better fit me. At the end, I got a guitar that is not only very beautiful but also sounds marvelous.

That's the beauty of in-person purchasing, you get advise, solution to your problems, and also a smile (even though in times of the virus you can only read it in the eyes). Thanks Matt and thanks L&M for the extraordinary customer service.

There is nothing that could replace an in-person experience... I am a VERY happy customer and I got the guitar I needed!

Visiting my mom who's recovering from surgery in Toronto during pandemic. Got a super deal on an acoustic guitar rental, I was really bored, being able to rent a guitar at a fantastic rate was a life saver.

Ian from drum rentals was incredibly knowledgable and took the time to explain quite a bit to me. You don’t see businesses take this type of care for their clientele often - thank you!

A store which has temperature. Many staff themselvels are artists or engineers, they are pretty cool and kind. That's the main reason that I like to go to this store.

They are not only sell equipment but also buy your used equipment and offering rental serivce to let you grow up in Music industry no matter you are artist, engineer or a guy who just starting small business in live production.

Due to the god damn covid-19, I got to leave Canada for better working opportunity. But whenever I think of the music industry in Toronto, the first name came to my mind would be Long Mcquade.

To Long & McQuade Corporate: Please give the staff here a pay raise plus commission. They are the hardest working most helpful bunch in the game

This place is amazing. I have used them on multiple occasions over the past couple of months for various reasons.

Everybody with whom I interacted (rentals, sales, repairs, front door staff, etc.) is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and courteous.

Went to L&M Bloor and Markham locations in the past two days. I had bought a Traveler Guitar from the Markham location (which is impossible to find in Canada, btw.) At both locations, I received attentive and helpful service. It was busy in both places, as it is the holidays, but as soon as someone could help me, they did.

This is indeed a wonderful place to go either as a musician or not. They have every little or big gadget, instrument, accessories, service, etc that you may need for your músical needs, everything from a piano until a hero goPro camera. Equally amazing is their staff, all knowledgeable and so cool. If you are down just go there and chat a little with them, they will bring you up at whatever money you saved for the psychologist now you can buy something there, like a pencil, or a coffee mug with a score of that cool skull-shaped shaker. Now, really, you must go there at least once, it's a great experience. They should run the country.

Best base prices compared to the other Toronto music stories. Tony was especially knowledgeable, friendly and gave us a lot of space to consider and compare but was always available to answer our many questions and share his expertise.

Great selection of products and they have an entire basement for drums stuff. The staff is friendly and they know what they're talking about. Best music store in TO.

I was in the states looking for a shop like long and McQuade to rent some equipment for a mobile event and the rental stores out there was quoting me 2000+ dollars deposit for the rental equipment, it made me think of Long & McQuade and how they'll make sure your needs are fair, affordable and reliable.
I've bought most of my DJ gear, speakers and keyboards from Long & McQuade, I'd suggest this spot to anyone who's looking for some equipment.

Not commissioned based. Great staff. Large network and supply chain. Good pricing vs online. Leagues beyond that other volume music store I shall not name.that is down on queen.starts with an 's'. While great staff there.the policy is push gear and get commissions.bad policy Steve's. You have some great staff.stop forcing them to grovel for commissions. Ooops

I have to agree with Herb (who posted a review last month). I have never seen staff less interested in customers. Asking for help was like pulling teeth! Responses were mundane & even condescending. It was clear they were far to busy to bother with us.even though there were 3 or 4 them just chumming around. As for the selection of keyboards it was amazing. Too bad for them.we were actually gonna buy today.but no thanks.will buy online.since they were of absolutely ZERO help to us! SAD. (seriously if i worked at this store.i would be so pumped to engage with the customers, do some demo's and even give back s smile for stopping by)

Wonderful and helpful staff, both friendly and knowledgeable. Went out of their way to accommodate a begginer musician!

The worker who helped us was amazing and patient. Which is good due to my parents knowing nothing about guitars and it being my first guitar. Also has a great selection to choose from.

Long & McQuade is an adult's toy store especially if you are a musician! Lots of great stuff & the staff are friendly & very helpful! My favourite music store in TO!

In my neighbourhood and they do price match. Their attic sale is where you'll find lots of great deals but beware they are closed on Sunday.

Went to buy a Gibson bass that was said to be in stock, after driving 2 hours I was told sorry that it was taken for an attic sale that was at the same address for the end of the month. I was there to buy this bass and they did not want to be bothered selling it to me. Very poor customer service. Not that they care but I'll never step foot in another L&M again.

Great service from the knowledgeable staff paired with great products. What more could you ask for?) The staff helped me pick out a good wireless headset mic at a great sale price.

I use this company several times a year for various events from large public gatherings to birthday parties to fundraisers. They always have the items that are required for my event and I have not had any defective equipment rented from them. The speakers and stands go together well. The wireless mics work and I have used at least 2 of them at several event venues without them cutting out or the frequencies crossing. The mixer works and can be used with xlr and rca and 1/4" inputs. The rental prices are very reasonable.

Low end musical instruments on Classical Guitars. Really low end. Electrical guitars is just the standart stuff like everywhere.

Great music store. It's like a collection of stores for every interest - guitars, drums, keys, strings and band. And a good sheet music and instructional books too.

Great selection of rental gear, prices are reasonable. Usually pretty busy, friendly staff, but sometimes hard to have a longer conversation because they have to run off and do something else.

Most knowledgeable team I've experienced in retail music instrument sales & rentals. Been going since a child and I haven't seen better.

I bought a 800 cad worth bass guitar in 2017.they helped me with everything. (free check up and other stuff) they have a very helpful store manager.if you want to buy a music instrument and you are not sure where to buy.this is the place.

Great selections! Just don't appreciate the physical set up of the store; having to go to a different store for each instrument was tedious as I was setting up for a full band. Some staff offer to help carry items out, others don't. Love the brand and location otherwise
