Pat the manager in Mississauga runs an excellent store. He really gets involved to make sure his customers have nothing but a positive experience. I appreciate the time he takes to call you back and discuss the small details that make me keep coming back for 30 years. Keep up the good work.

Staff are so friendly and helpful, really love this location. They even helped me take my guitar to my car since I was alone. And the cashier made sure I knew about their free guitar setup with my purchase. Really like the staff at this location.

I was in the store looking around for a Christmas gift idea for my partner.

They had a great selection of ukulele’s. Much more than I thought they would. So many to choose from.

I spoke with Nancy, and she gave me a better understanding of the different kinds. The customer service was excellent (and I’m glad I did more research before ordering one off Amazon).

Although I didn’t make the purchase today - I’m definitely coming back once I get more covert info from the hubby (want to make sure I get one he will really like).

Great customer service feels like a rarity these days. She was super patient and wasn’t pushy at all. She answered all my questions and gave me enough knowledge to help me figure out what I want. It really bugs me when I feel too pressured to buy something immediately - but with this particular interaction, you’ve gained a loyal customer here. Thanks again!

I went in to have my guitar assessed and its strings changed. Christian really helped in taking a look at my guitar and changed my guitar strings. He seemed very passionate, knowledgeable and taught me a great deal. I will definitely come back.

Really excellent experiences at this location! Staff are super friendly and helpful with any questions I had about the instruments. Christian helped me with a few things and helped make the store more comfortable for people to try out instruments, his service was really great on the occasions I've visited! Really great selection of instruments and great place for beginners to find gear to get started!

I wish I could give 10 stars. The staff were exceptional. I’m not musically inclined and brought my sons who needed a guitar repair & a rental. Everyone was so patient and helpful in explaining everything both to me and the kids. I wish I remembered all their names but Pat helped us with the guitar repair and was incredibly helpful and spent so much time answering questions. I will definitely be returning!

Worst customer service I’ve experienced. It was my first time here and I was looking for a case for my acoustic guitar and I asked the guy at the counter about it, but he wouldn’t help me just because I didn’t bring my guitar with me. My guitar is about 40-41 inches like any acoustic guitar would be. Even telling him, he would not listen to me and make me bring my guitar to find the right case size. He was honestly not very knowledgeable and unprofessional. The way he laughed at me about asking a simple question was really disrespectful. He should get fired for his misbehaviour towards the customers as I may have heard rumors that he treats the customers the same way he treated me according to the reviews. His name is Mike Labo by the way. I looked at Amazon and found the size myself. So much for this place. It’s a shame because I heard a lot of great things about it but it seems I’ve wasted my time just to find a guitar case for nothing. Avoid this place at all costs. I already know they’re gonna rip me off because I saw their prices online for their guitar cases and they cost 50-100 when Amazon costs only 20-30. I wish I could give this a zero. Never coming back here again.

Great experience, very very helpful staff! I was abit indecisive about some studio monitors and I was kindly assisted in trying out some songs on a few speakers, plus the little tolly to the car was a great touch. Thank you!

I love this location and the staff! Great deals as always! They match competitors prices! And I have gotten so many great deals over the years at thier attic sales! I have shopped with L&M for years and i am always treated well and given great service and will always be a loyal customer! They have never let me down and have saved me on a few weddings! Myself and my friend from Cairo went to visit as she needed help with a piece before travelling. The person who answered phone did no understand the instrument and devices needed after being told we were seeing a specialist. Please ensure you educate your staff, my friend travel so far and had no recommendation after the visit and is a musician for weddings,

Had a very bad experience sending my 5 year kid to piano classes over here. They took 2 week advance payment after 1st session and told us to buy books (70-80$) and piano (500-1000$). My kid got flu and was not able to attend two session and the teacher promised make up classes. When we came back for our next session, the teacher told that our kid is not grown up to learn piano and asked us to stop the classes. They gave the same books which they give for older studens and expect a 5 year kid to do the same. Moreover they denied to give makeover session and refund the payment for classes which we didn't took.

They have a very bad terms which they ask us to sign while enrolling, even if we miss classes, the teacher has the right to not refund for the classes even if the make up classes are not taken. Other than that, they will charge you the full month's payment on your credit card on the 1st of month and the the refund is only if you cancel the classes 2 weeks in advance.

Music class policy are not clear and puzzling. Requested for makeup class at front desk and teacher, was happy when class was Scheduled for makeup on different day but at the end shocked to see charged extra for additional lessons at the end. Clear communication would have helped to continue but continued to puzzled

I needed a simple tuning peg for an epiphone Les Paul. Of course they didn't have it in stock saying that my guitar was"older" and did not even check for comparison with the other epiphone Les Pauls in the store. Instead, he wanted me to put in a work order rather than order a simple part I could install myself. I went along with this and then another person came to me and said I would have to pay extra for cleaning the guitar at 78 dollars an hour! All this for a 5 or ten minute cleaning job. They could not give me an exact cost for everything or how long it would take to do the actual work and I would have to wait about 2 weeks for my guitar to be ready. I also likely would have had to spend a couple of hundred bucks for work that would take me twenty minutes. Clearly I walked out without anything being done. They didn't want to check their repairs section for the part I needed on grounds that it might "interfere with a repair in progress" nor were they interested in ordering a set (I would have to get all 6 pegs at once) for me. I would not recommend taking your instrument for repairs here unless you unlimited time and patience.

Excellent, friendly staff! I've bought guitars from many of the L&M stores around the GTA, and this is one of the best locations. When they haven't had a specific item in stock, they've been extremely helpful to find me the exact model I wanted and get it to their store in a few days or less. Prices are as good as anywhere, and there's always a fair amount of used items for sale.

I’m not speaking for all employees here, but I’d personally give it two stars because the staff I interacted with was very unwelcoming, prejudicial, and ageist.

For background, I look young for my age as an Asian woman & how I dressed (jeans, Nike shoes & a shirt). The first employee was a Caucasian middle aged man (he wore a black bandana as a mask), & a tall, skinny, & young Caucasian man working at the rental section (both wearing their uniform suits).

All I needed was one music stand, & when I requested this the first employee replied, “YOU can’t, ” knowing that I had called before coming to the store to confirm that I could. After telling them this, they said that I could rent at the rental area in a condescending manner.

At the time, I was not aware that I was on the wrong side of the store, (the rental area being on the left side), but why was I allowed to rent an instrument on the right side from previous visits?

At the rental area, I was told to wait behind 4 people who were renting multiple instruments & speakers—fair since they came first. However, if a customer who’s rented in the past needed ONE music stand (meaning there’s no need to fill additional papers or test audio) & another who hasn’t rented there at all, & needed multiple instruments (meaning more time to fill papers, & test equipment), even if they came first, would it not be wise to quickly serve the customer with the music stand?

This not only would increase productivity & efficiency, but it would leave all customers happy. This is assuming, of course that the first customer was okay with this decision. If not, I would have gladly talked to another employee who could have assisted me better.

Had I not been approached by this gentleman (who looked to be a manager or supervisor), I would have waited longer than necessary. He quickly took the music stand behind the counter, & kindly asked me if this was fine. Then he took me back to the “wrong” side where I asked about the rental initially & was denied to do so (from the employee wearing the bandana).

The supervisor quickly updated my customer info on the computer, & I got out of there in less than 5min.

As a young coloured artist, & on behalf of all other young musicians, hobbyists, etc, music (including music stores) needs to promote, or at least show, respect and inclusivity to all people/customers, regardless of appearance, age, & false perceptions that drive poor customer service.

Been here 4 times and seems like every time I went, staff is happy to chat away with each other loudly and neglect customers. I have no interest in coming to this location again and will do my business elsewhere. What a waste of time.

Great store, even better school! I took my children here for lessons with Stephanie B before all these lockdowns and they always came back excited and encouraged. They still practice and have a passion for music like I did as a child. Stephanie was always so patient and kind but at the same time made sure they were learning and not just goofing off. My eldest has a tendency to distract teachers but somehow she found a way to get him back on track.

I regret not writing this review sooner but it didn’t strike me until today when her name came up at the dinner table. The store itself has everything you need to get started and develop as a musician and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I don’t get the sense they are working for a commission, they asked me all the questions to make sure I was getting the right equipment.

I was so happy to have found a soprano ukulele case in stock in this location and placed the order online for in-store pick-up which was the only option. When I got to the store to pick-up, I was skeptical since the item didn’t come with a tag or a proper packaging and it looked larger than the actual instrument. However, the salesman ensured me that it was for soprano ukulele (smallest compared to other versions) and I trusted him and accepted.

It turned out my ukulele was swimming in the case and I had to make another trip to the store for an exchange with the right size since the website still said it was in stock. To my surprise, they not only didn’t have the soprano ukulele case in stock, the same salesman told me lame excuses instead of apologizing for giving me the wrong item (even though he knew it was the wrong size) plus the incorrect stock info on the website.

The managers at L&M Mississauga should look into training their employees (at least this employee with bandana mask) better at handling such basic customer services. Sometimes, a simple apology is all it takes. I recommend L&M Mississauga location to anyone who has time to waste and would like to be offended by being treated in a condescending manner.

This store has everything you need for music. All the staff is very helpful and friendly, but a few of them are REAL GEMS. 1 Guy in the rental section, and 1 guy in pro audio section both gave me incredible advice.
But all employees here are good they don't try to upsell you and generally know what they are talking about.

Went to the Brampton location to pick up a new telecaster and loved my experience. Decided to head into my more local store and it was just as great. Went in and looked at there selection. While different it was still great and they had a little of everything. The largest thing was there drum selection is amazing. Ended up picking up a guitar cable and it turned out the system was down. Had to pay by cash but there were very sorry. Overall very friendly with my questions and with all interactions

Brought a priceless functional bass in for a simple setup. When it was picked up, the panel on the back was opened with a a protruding screw that tore into my left arm and the instrument was unplayable. Pat, the manager, couldn't have cared less about the matter and never resolved anything about it. My family and I spent tens of thousands with long & McQuade and this is how Pat Furlan treated me. Very rude and debasing, talked over me constantly. Did absolutely nothing but inflame the situation.

I did a free setup of my bass guitar. Beware of the word "free", it usually means sloppy and bad service. As I expected, the intonation on the bass was off and did not work out. I came to the studio and noticed my bass was completely out of tune in the higher frets

First time going into this location and I could feel that no one wants to help me or perhaps the staffs are picky. I was roaming around the shop for probably 10-15minutes looking for the specific product I need, staffs were walking around, I approached 1 guy at the right side facing the exit to ask where the specific item is and then he passed me on to the guy beside him and then the next guy just pointed where it is. I went back to the drum area it was a bit of a mess I couldn't find the item. I approached the 3rd guy in the counter he pointed me to the same area but this time I had the help that I need, he went with me to the drum area and help me find the particular item. Then I was about to pay, the first person whom I asked blocked my way to the cashier as he was writing there (I'm not sure if it was an honest mistake that he didn't see me or what it was rude there's a lot of area to write on your notebook) overall the it's hard to mix the staffs that gives good customer service with the ones that doesn't it affects reputation.

I am writing to who it may concern it was my first time at Long and McQuade musical instrument store I went with my son to not only potentially buy a new guitar which I think we’re going to do but to also get new strings for the guitar I met an employee there Jesse Manou this gentleman was so helpful so polite it was refreshing I myself am in the retail business and would love to have 100 employees like Jesse I had to take the time out and let the management and staff know how helpful he was to my son and to myself absolute delight to deal with

I have always shopped in Long & McQuade when it comes down to music instruments, cables, strings and many other things

I brought an instrument for a repair as its been under a year since I first got it and there was no one at the counter.
After 10 minutes I finally had to ask for someone and someone said I'd be with you in a minute.

After all the many years shopping here I always had amazing impressions from all the staff and people that work at this stores always so friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable.

Unfortunetly, This one time was the exception.

The gentleman is a middle aged asian background I would recommend to avoid at all cost. He looked at my bass and all he said is bridge is bent you will have to pay for strings. My girlfriend was curious and ask do you know how could this happen? And seemed really annoyed at her questions and replied: it's wood humidity/Dry and when I asked him about the trade in value of another guitar I brought he seemed even more annoyed to the point that when he was packing up my bass for the repair waranty and I kept asking him questions he walked away and talked to me with his back facing me and no interest of interaction with me.

I was very surprised and even my girlfriend noticed that was extremely rude.

After my bass gets repaired I won't be coming back to the Mississauga location ever again

Bought my son an $800ish guitar that didnt come with the right tremolo bar out from the box. Person who assisted us just grabbed a random tremolo bar that works but does not even fit perfectly, and have for the time being until the right item comes as they will order it.weeks past, months now, had past nothing is coming up. Made follow ups on the phone, they always say “oh the guy who handled you is on a holiday, ill email to him your concern. ” So anyway, had enough of this BS.i told my son you’ll never gonna get that piece. Forget it.even until now, no reply on our follow up emails. Im so disappointed on this music store.sorry no offense. Every customer’s experience is different.

Constantly been talked down by the same male employee treating me like I am wasting his time. He tried lying to me to sell a guitar that was in bad condition and when I refused, talked to me as if I was an uneducated child. One of my strings fell out of place 10 minutes into playing after a complete set up from the employees and the same employee continued to blame me saying I did something wrong when it was without a doubt the fault of the employee who worked on my guitar. Learn some manners.

I've been doing business with LM since 2002, I've spend thousands of dollars in that time and a ton of financing. I financed an apollo twin last year back in 2019. I found out that cosmos music has 0% financing to which LM decided to Honor this. I ended up financing something else almost a year later and the person I was dealing with refused to do it at 0%. I am looking to finance some more gear but if LM does not want to Honor this I will have to take my business elsewhere. The service is so inconsistent based on who you deal with or what mood they are in. Please address this.

Went in looking for a pedal and waited 15 mins for someone to help us. Eventually went over to someone in another department and asked to have them open a cabinet to which I was told "in a few minutes". After a while, I finally just went to the cash and asked for help. The pedal I wanted came with a box and was told they would get back to me with the box. After another 10 mins and seeing that staff member help someone else with a pedal and a box, I finally just left. I've spent thousands of dollars at this store, which I obviously don't expect staff to know, but it feels like I was treated very poorly. When I am helped, staff often try to take advantage and con me into spending more. If I didn't know more about guitars and their products, I would have spent way more than I needed to at this store over the past 10 years or so.

The receptionist is very rude. The ginger girl with pony tail looks like she hates her job. She speaks to people in such a rude manner that all you want is to walk out of the store.
The only nice thing about the musical instruments and lessons center is teachers.

Terrible customer service. When I need help, I am neglected, and in the very rare chance that I actually do get help, I feel like I am not worth their time. Do not invest your money in this place. It’s not worth it for the service you get.

Just had my Gibson Songwriter in for some minor adjustment and set up. Absolutely amazing. Now it’s better than the day I bought it. First class service and that’s why I’ll always return again and again.

Attempted to trade in 2 guitars.
Customer service agent broke the tuners off my older accoustic " oops sorry". The guitar was older and not high quality, I wasnt looking for much for it but could have atleast offered a fix as it was missing 1 string too.
Second customer agent took my older squire strat I didnt play and claimed " the neck was replaced. "
Umm no, guitar just wasnt used.
Then offered me $80 bucks.

I left feeling insulted and with a broken guitar:)

My advise, use kijiji

I've been to several L&M stores across Ontario and most visits have been pleasant and enjoyable. Visiting L&M on Rathburn previously was something i always looked forward to, never left the store empty handed as the staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

My more recent visits were less than ideal as quality of service have deteriorated.walking in you don't get as much as a head nod to acknowledge you or a "'s'up man? " even.

Many times I wandered around with a bewildered/lost look (my resting face apparently) looking for specific items and the crew will just blow past me without offering assistance.

Of course not all of the staff are like that, but majority give off this unapproachable/grumpy vibe, and when you do approach them to ask for help, they are quite snippy in answering, like you interrupted them.

Smile, balding dude with earrings working the till in the evening, you're face won't crack.you work retail, deal.

Lots of instruments, gear, and method books. All the staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Lessons are done by professional musicians with tons of experience.

Mississauga location - staff is extremely helpful and professional. We have dealt with staff purchasing instruments, renting instrument, buying music and accessories. They always explain everything really well, and ensure they find you the 'expert' in the store for whatever you are asking. I recommend getting the service plan for any instrument purchases, as it has worked out well for us to have it. We received a loaner sax whenever repairs or maintenance was needed.

I came here the other day to check out a piano i was really interested in purchasing (i came before with my brother and it wasn't there, was excited to see the one we wanted in store). When i was playing on it I asked one of the guys working there if he could just play one note I forgot (just one key) and he was SO rude. Was saying things like "i don't give piano lessons for free" "do you have 20 dollars for me? " "well why would i help you're not gonna buy it" most of the sales reps there are rude and unapproachable, what a waste of time and money on that place.

The location is the best. It is not too far from city centre of Mississauga and yet accessible and no parking problems. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The store is stocked with ample choices that it is a one stop if there is a multiple shopping goals.

I'm giving this store 5 stars just because they have a special person working in there. Sadly, I forgot his name, but, he has a Japanese name.
He helped in finding the right strings and installed it for FREE!

I waisted 2 hours of my time because of a store manager name Hiro was trying to be a Hero and refused my in house finance because im a first time buyer and he asked me to put down half of the amount. I dont care about that too if its not take him forever to make a decision but my problem is his attitude, he was rude, zero customer service skills how to deal with people. Soon as he showed up and the way he asked me question and his unplesent behaviour made me uncomfortable and at that point i knew he wont approve the deal which i agreed with the sales person! I give him references, my job info, my address, d licence everything, and i was in the computer system already because of my previous purchase. But i saw his unfriendly angry face which showed me a total denial. Probably bacause if him i wont go back again. However the sales person Steve was very professional, he knows how to talk and deal with a customer and he has a good musical knowledge too. Anyway i want to buy a korg pa700.but not from that store.

Been going to their Mississauga location for few months now. It's amazing what instructors and teachers can do- my son is loving his new hobby because of his amazing teacher Nick. Every person that works there, is so committed and passionate I see it every week when I'm there. Not to mention the staff in the showroom always helpful and polite. We had the best of the best guiding us. Extremely talented and passionate about music and it reflects so naturally on her job. Oustanding individual, very approachable, her positive energy fills the air the minute you enter the guitars room. Denice, because of you, we invested in a guitar to last a lifetime. Thank you for taking the time, to explain the differences in guitars to someone who has no clue what direction to go. You're truly gifted.
Amazing experience all in all, but I'm really thankful for Nick for his inspiration and for his encouragement since day 1.
