It is always a good time to go to Long and McQuade. The staff are so nice and the vibe is always super chill. Renting is easy and as a new music student in my 30s, I never feel judged or like I am being spoken down to. I just can't get over how nice the staff are and how good the service is. They were so kind and patient with my 6 year old who was pondering what instrument she wanted to start learning. Thank you!

Was there today wanting to have my equipment put on consignment, after being ignored by one of the employees for about 5 minutes as they were to busy texting on their phone and there was no sign of wanting to assist me I walked away and an older gentleman directed me to the service desk. After looking over the instruments was offered a very low price.
Based on research I had done previous as to what the items are worth I decided to take my business elsewhere.
Very disappointed with this location’s services and how customers are acknowledged.

Left turns in and out are not recommended, don’t take centennial, come up or down from nash and then it’s a right turn in from barton as you come east

In the process of buying my first Gibson Les Paul. Tim in sales has been great to deal with. I love this store.

Each time I’ve entered this location, I’ve been greeted by the right type of sales staff.
Inquires if I need anything, always accessible, never the least bit invasive. Musicians like to look and staff members respect that while also acknowledging they can help with anything at any time.
Specifically, I’ve been assisted by John, on several occasions. The wealth of knowledge, the ease with which he explains, and his ability to answer each and every question is a special quality in sales staff. The man takes time to explain, to set up guitars, pedals, amps, etc.with a desire to help and the knowledge to provide real support to musicians eager to learn. This makes me want to return and pay retail prices.
When I return, any piece of gear purchased, will give John full credit and commission, because it’s no less than he deserves. And he’s earned it.
Promote him.
Or give him a raise.
Or lower retail costs so musicians can spend more in store.
Either way, John is professional, knowledgeable and above all helpful. I shop at LnM for staff like John.
Cheers,

I purchased a guitar off amazon and i got what i paid for hahahaha jokes on me. I took the trash i purchased (amazon) to this store to have tuned and was informed about all of the visual (body) defects to it. Anywho a friendly staff member tried to tune it with no luck. So ya. I left the wonderful garbage at the store and purchased 2 guitars **real** guitars from long and Mcquade. Staff get a A+ for just being so dang helpful and polite. Returning today when it opens to get an amp for the electric i got my son. This will be my music supply store for as long as i try to learn the guitar. Sincerely, New Learner Dean Lyon

This is unfortunately a revised review of the store and one that runs contrary to my previous review, which I posted a few years ago.

Earlier today, I attended this store to purchase a pack of guitar patch cables. I grabbed a set of cables from a rack of similar cables with a price tag listed at $20.99.

When I paid for the item, the total ran greater than I expected ($35.58) but since I didn’t actually remember the price on the tag off-hand and not wanting to make a big deal, I paid the amount and completed the transaction. Subsequent to the transaction, I did walk over to the display and noticed that the same item had a display price listing of $20.99.

When I raised the issue to the cashier and asked that the transaction be corrected accordingly, the gentleman flippantly said that it was because they had incorrectly labelled the price tag. When I asked if I would be reimbursed for their error, that’s when he became really flippant and rude refusing to acknowledge the error and making it seem like I was being unreasonable.

This amended rating and review is not for the mistake in pricing but rather for the manner in which it was handled after the fact and for the customer service (lack thereof).

I am genuinely unhappy writing this review.

My original review from 2017/2018:

These guys have been my friendly neighbourhood music store since they opened. Their customer service is second to none. Their staff are knowledgeable, courteous and always professional. They’ve really gone above and beyond with assisting me with technical issues, trouble shooting and are continued source of support. Thanks guy!

Just rented a bunch of gear for a show and John in the rentals department was such a pro and so quick to put my order together. Great job! No one beats these guys, especially when it comes to rentals!

I bought my first guitar from long and McQuade a couple weeks ago. The staff was really busy with other customers. One of the costumers even helped me pick a guitar and show me how to tell if it's a good one. I was still unsure and a staff member came and helped me with my decision. He was talented and knowledgeable. Such a wonderful experience. I'm so looking forward to be going back for purchases and learning about my new hobby.
