Long & McQuade Musical Instruments

The team at Long & McQuade Markham are the best in the biz. My son has autism and I've been taking him there for several years as he is really into music. We visit the store on a regular basis because a trip to L&M for him is as exciting as going to the movies or Canada's Wonderland. He loves it there.

Even though my son can be demanding, extremely inquisitive and repetitive, and very hands on with all the instruments, the guys at the Markham store are very friendly, patient and helpful to him and always treat him like he's a valued customer. They answer all of his questions (even though he's asked the same thing a hundred times over) and they don't talk down to him or act impatient with him.

Over the years, we have purchased 2 drum kits, 2 bass guitars, an electric guitar, an accoustic guitar, lots of other books & equipment and rented several instruments because they were so helpful to us.

I would highly, highly, highly recommend the Long & McQuade Markham store to anyone who is new to music, who has questions about finding the perfect instrument or who needs a kind, patient person to help them on their musical journey. Ethan, Matt, James, Guy and Spencer are my favorite guys to go to for help, but the entire team is A+!

Every-time I go to this place, I have an incredible experience, I went to pick up a cello for first time, Ethan one of the staffs technically gave me a full introduction course on the instrument, amazing folks

Matthew and Dave are friendly and patient to accommodate my special request regarding order & shipping. 10/10 Shopping experience, would definitely come again.

Just went to purchase strings and strap may 2, around 8pm. The 2 staff (including a floor supervisor) at the counter were very patronizing, clearly annoyed at my arrival and obviously did not want to be there, complaining that they had several customers they were assisting, and in a manner befitting a grade 2 teacher to children, telling me to wait as long as they needed (I simply greeted them politely). Nonetheless, I found what I was looking for in the meantime…. Two stars because the rentals clerk was able to cash me out quickly. Will be ordering everything online in the future; I highly recommend avoiding this location. Give the rental guy a promotion, but the front staff need to find new jobs where they’re not so annoyed and can speak to customers with a modicum of respect.

Great place, awesome people. Spencer was awesome, sat with me and helped me pick out which pedal I wanted for as long as I needed. Super knowledgeable and patient. Highly recommended.

Wide range of instruments available inside! Looking for a harmonica for the first time and pleasantly surprised with the number of different harmonicas available!

Brought in my bass for a set up, new strings and lower action. The gentleman at the front desk said, "Once the set up is done, moving up and down the neck will be smooth like butter. " He was not wrong! Very pleased. Thank you!

I took my old strat in to finally get the frets and electronics repaired. I wanted the guitar to pkay like it did when it was new in the '80s. It's taken me a few days to actually write this because i can't put it down long enough to do so. @Pete did a fantastic job on it. He emailed me to give me options to keep the costs down, and the work he did was flawless. He put the effort in, and the resukts are there! Thanks Pete. Im so happy with it!

Staff helpful, helps you solve your issues, generous demo options for us to actually try things before we buy. It is 100x more helpful to be able to actually hear things yourself before buying. This alone is enough for a recommendation.

Probably not competitive in terms of price or convenience factor compared to like, Amazon, but I'd still shop here because of the human factor.

Sales call customer that guy that guy，they need back school to learn respect class，Music is elegant （Hi, it is our store so we make the rules. And we didn’t say you couldn’t use it immediately, we just were being cautious for your protection as well as ours. ）
