Long & McQuade Musical Instruments

Been going here for over a decade always the best spot for any kind of music equipment. I want to shout out Quentin Wilson and Michael Di Monte cause they are always an incredible help. Always knowledgeable, kind, patient and easy to deal with. There are too many occasions to count where these two either together or one of them has gone above and beyond to help me with my purchases. I hope the management sees this because they truly deserve to be recognized for the service they provide. Long and McQuade is an asset to our community and I will always shop here.

Marco's a true gem in this store! He's really knowledgeable with almost everything that's music related. I just got the Tonex pedal from him, he was kind enough to run through the basic instructions on how to use it and gave me a few tips on it as well. Top tier customer service!

The place is great and has a huge catalog of musical instruments to cater the need of all music lovers. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.

Got my new acoustic guitar at Long & McQuade, love it! I shopped at L&M and Cosmo, the prices are better at L&M, the service is better at Cosmo. First, I waited a long time for a salesperson to free up, then Christian came over, he seems like a nice guy but didn't volunteer much help or shopping advise.

Joe at the front desk is an absolute Gem.knowledge is top notch and will take the time to go above and help you out when you need it. Thanks again! -Ary

I do A LOT of research before making these types of purchases to the point where I always know more than the staff at places like the apple store, bestbuy, other music shops, and even other L&M locations.

However, when going into the store with my eyes on a specific product, Paul Atkinson initially offered a hand to let me try everything that I asked for, but then he offered some alternative considerations that I did not already know of (which is rare in situations like this), and unlike other situations that I've been in where people sometimes sway off track while elaborating and start describing things that I know aren't true, Paul was nailing every detail all the way from the physics of sound to the history of some of the guitars/companies.

Anyways, I am so glad that I have decided to spend my lunch break from work here instead of going to my usual L&M location near my place after work.

He not only provided the BEST customer service that I have ever witnessed or completely changed my mind on which guitar to pick up, but Paul also opened my eyes to which guitar was JUST RIGHT FOR ME! I had no idea that an instrument can feel so right even after a decade of playing the cello, many years of playing the guitar, and growing up in a family of musicians.

I currently own a Taylor 414ce-RW, a custom electric guitar, a Taylor GS Mini, and now thanks to Paul, adding a Godin classical guitar.

I was at this L&M location today with my wife. We stood at the counter for more than 15 minutes waiting for someone to ring up our purchase. One guy was chatting up another customer, the second was on the phone, the third was leisurely packing up an Epiphone Les Paul, and the fourth was clueless. No one, and I mean no one, stopped to even say "We'll be with you in a moment. " There were maybe a total of 4 customers in the entire store - including us! Eventually, we left the items and headed to Cosmo Music in Richmond Hill. Far better experience. MUCH better customer service. If you want people to respect your time - don't go to L&M North York. Oh, and please don't ask me if I want to "share more of my experience'. Just TREAT THE NEXT CUSTOMER A LITTLE BETTER - okay?

The North York guys (Mark and Quinten) are the best Customer service guys I’ve ever dealt with. Far better than other locations I must say.

I recently bought a guitar from this location and the service from Paul in the acoustic guitar department was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable and consistently went far above and beyond my expectations to ensure I ended up with an instrument in the best possible condition. If that level of service and expertise is any indication of the store as a whole, I couldn’t recommend this location highly enough!

Saw a gearhunter deal and paid for it online. Even got pick up email. Went to pick up and the item was not only sold five days ago, that were not reflected in their website - but got invoiced for a demo unit! Shady business and dysfunctional website.

Update: Within a day, Mark -the store manager got in touch and made it right. He honored the web price and even followed up to see it was done correctly. I appreciate the gesture and updated the review from 1* to 5*

I went today to replace and tune my violin strings. Michael is absolutely amazing and patient! He taught me a lot of tips and tricks as well. We had a great conversation and I could not ask for a better experience.

I had an amazing experience buying a brand new Yamaha YAS 280 saxophone from Long & McQuade. The staff provided excellent customer service. The saxophone was in perfect condition, reflecting their commitment to quality. I highly recommend Long & McQuade for their exceptional service and top-notch instruments.

Great service and very professional staff. Easy exchange and return system goes straight back to the credit card you used. No need to show anything. Now that's very convenient.
