It is always a pleasure to go to Long and McQuade. The staff are so nice and the vibe is always super chill. Renting is easy and as a new music student in my 30s, I never feel judged or like I am being spoken down to. I just can't get over how nice the staff are and how good the service is. Thanks!

This store has a wide variety of instruments and sheet music books, spanning from cello etudes to beginner guitar jazz selections. They also have lots of employees who will help you service and try out different instruments. This location is really amazing; it’s a musicians dream.

I rented a trombone for my son through 4 years of high school. I even paid when there was no music or band due to Covid. At the end of the term I inquired about keeping the instrument and buying it out, but was told that the price would be the same as for a brand new instrument, less a small deduction for rental fees paid. So if a 4-year-old instrument is still worth full price, you’re better off buying it outright and then selling it when you’re done, rather than spending 2/3 the cost of the instrument and having nothing to show for it. Apparently instruments don’t depreciate in value, as opposed to every other single item on the planet. Wish I’d known!

I had hold for rental equipment for our church Easter play. Upon arrival, their was discrepancy in the system for the equipment as per the quote. Both Zach and site manager Tim came and assisted me to success to ensure our church Easter play went well. They went above and beyond to honour the quote and in fact even bettered the price to help the church. Upon return both Zach and the site manager Tim welcomed me with love and care and assisted in the return process. I am over all pleased with L&MQ services. Thank you gentleman for helping our Christian Orthodox Church and hope to do further business with you in the future. Happy Easter!

Have shopped at this L&M location for years now and am always impressed with the helpful staff. Ian Roberts in particular has always been extremely helpful and accommodating over the years. Along with the staff, they always have a great selection of guitars and amplifiers. Definitely one of the best, if not the best, L&M locations I’ve been to in the GTA.

This location has some of the best experienced staff that are very helpful. I went for podcast start up kit and David was amazing. He set me up. Also needed standing speakers with mic. Some say brick and mortar stores are dead not here. Amazing experience.

Customer service is outstanding. The technician Bruce did a fantastic job on my guitar and I could not be happier. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend shopping at this location and will certainly be back. Thank you!

Recently drove to this location from Toronto after securing a hold on a used guitar over the phone with Norik, and was able speak with him in person when I arrived.

I was really impressed with his customer service, and was given plenty of time to test the guitar out. Not only that, but my concerns about the item were eased and I was given a great price as the guitar along with a free setup.

This location is without a doubt the BEST L&M location that I have ever shopped at!

I started going to Long & McQuade on Yonge Street back in the '60's and I haven't stopped. I have gone to other music stores but keep coming back for the knowleable staff, the huge selection of instruments and the capability of renting practically anything you might need at a great price. This recent store in Burlington is massive, but it still has that small friendly feel about it that is typical of Long & McQuade. Great place for any musician or aspiring musician.

Such a great attitude and extremely helpful. Bought a Yamaha Trans Acoustic. Bryan said here try this one out, left me alone for a few minutes to check it out, as he walked back in i just shook my head and handed him my bank card. Thanks Bryan, great guitar.

Excellent location. Beautiful selection of guitars and polite sales reps willing to help. This store location was huge compared to others and open later than most. I'll keep shopping here anytime I'm in the area. Long and McQuade is really like a family experience and that's what makes it stand out. Don't think twice if you're in the area!

A quick tip. I don't believe 1 employee should reflect an entire company. Which is why my review will remain 5 stars.

However, AJ should learn how to speak to customers and approach situations in a much more positive manner.

Tenure is a great thing to have when working for a company but you're supposed to learn the tools that it equips you with along the way.

The tone you reflect is the exact same energy you'll get right back. Very rarely do I have to raise my voice but I felt incredibly frustrated with him (At the time) and would have appreciated a friendlier approach. This situation has been 100% resolved and needs no follow-up. Like I said, 1 employee won't ruin my outlook of such a great business!

The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. They answer all questions and make sure that you are 100% happy with your purchases. The manager Ian was professional and accommodating. We will be back!

Very friendly staff and great selection of instruments available. I’ve been shopping here over 20 years now and there is a reason why I’m keep coming back. Great service and great people. I’m only talking about this location specifically. Some other locations are good as well but not as good as this location.

I broke a string on my guitar yesterday and called up Long and McQuade to see if they could fix it. The man I spoke to was incredibly helpful and kind over the phone! I dealt with a man who I believed was named Curtis, who not only showed me how to fix the string, but also tuned my guitar in less than 5 minutes. He absolutely made my day when he waved the fee for the new string. I had a rough day and snapping my string was the cherry on top. Curtis and the staff at the store absolutely made my day! Thank you for putting a smile back on my face!

I ordered a Line 6 Hx Stomp from this branch to be transferred to North York store. I specifically asked the salesperson on phone that I needed my pedal to be brand new and not a demo or display item. After leaving me on hold and checking the pedal condition he said the pedal was brand new and sealed. Sadly when I picked it up I realized at home that pedal was open box. It is too sad to feel how I was treated with dishonesty. I tried to contact the L&M head office and sadly there is not any link for leaving a complaint. Tomorrow I planned to return back the item.

With Brian Carson's great help and hospitality, he now have me switch to Burlington branch as my new Go-To Long and McQuade store. Super experience!

Went in to purchase a guitar, after my experience with this particular staff member, I ended up leaving right away. Among the rudest retail staff (some, not all) I have ever come across. This happened before.at the exact same location (Burlington). Clearly things have not changed. The staff do not care and only care about talking to other coworkers. Step up your game. After all, you're the only music store around nowadays, ever since you killed the small local family shops.you know, where they actually cared about the customer.

I called and had an inquiry about some mouthpieces and Rob helped me find other locations with ease! Very polite and knows his stuff! Guy deserves a raise!

Went to this store twice in a span of a week and must say that they have zero knowledge of dj gear. Their website is inaccurate off what they say they have in stock. You can’t rely on it. Also what they call “new in stock” could actually be a demo model on the floor which they still try to sell at full price. Poor service. Will not come back here

Excellent music store; lots of selection and great staff. Ian and Chris are particularly awesome people; they know their stuff and always go above and beyond to help customers.

I entered the store for the first time because I am new to Burlington and I didn't know exactly where to look for the Roland Accordion but no one greeted me or paid any attention to me, as I was wandering this big beautiful store I started coughing as I swallowed my own saliva the wrong way I started coughing in my handkerchief and lowered my mask and blow my nose, a gentleman who works there asked me to put my ask back on but never asked me if I was searching for anything. It seems your employees are more interested in socializing amongst themselves rather than helping a customer. What do you believe would be the correct adjectives to sum up the situation? Will never go back, maybe a symptom of covid has removed any sence of courtesy or manners.

This place is huge! They have 17 rooms for private sessions, and excellent selection of instruments, books.etc. I certainly found what I was looking for.

Wow what an amazing store! It's huge! Great assortment of instruments, some I had never heard of. Good supply of learning paraphernalia and sheet music. A slightly hidden gem.

This is the best Long and McQuade in southern Ontario. Great staff always helpful and knowledgeable. I will continue to travel from Niagara as the staff is so good it is worth the 40 min drive. Guitars are all playable and near in tune. Excellent.

Absolute worst service I have ever experienced with this company. A company I have been dealing with for 2 decades. The guy at the service counter for guitars was dismissive and riddled with ego. Not a family place. And the end of my business.

Fantastic store and helpful staff. Came in with lots of questions and a desire to get an acoustic guitar with a budget in mind; left with all my questions answered and a beautiful Simon and Patrick acoustic guitar.

Just had my 2018 American Pro Statocaster there for full setup and boy did Wayne do a fantastic job.

Not only was the work quality he made it a point to connect with me to make sure we were on the same page on what I needed. He followed a lot of special instructions and even cleaned up some of my mess-ups along the way.

I've been buying from various L&M stores over the years and always found the service to be great. For the last 18 or so years I have been visiting the Burlington location and love the new store - both the look/feel and the ample parking I am especially pleased with recent work that was done on my 25 year old Gibson J200. The tuners were replaced as well as the nut and the whole thing was set up superbly (action etc.). Plays the best it ever has. I also just had a really old Marshall JCM900 100W Combo worked on (new valves plus a whole bunch of other stuff) and it came back sounding better than it ever has. Top marks from me.

New location is indeed much improved, with roomy display and renovated interior, plus some badly needed parking space.

But that is pretty much all good about it, based on my visit in November, 2020.

First, 2 things we tried to get are listed as on stocks on the website for this location but nowhere to be found. Just such a mess with their relocating.

Staff all look like strangers, even they claimed no staff changeover. We shopped at the old Burlington site for years, and know those folks and even befriended some of them, but the guys at the new store all look different.

If they provide the same level of service, we would be fine, but they didn't. The dedication and attention are not there, and sometimes struggling with the system. They really need bring their old management and staff back!

Very good location. Friendly staff that I’ve been served by. Excellent selection. Quick turnaround for the set up of my Strat. I bought it new from the store but the fret edges were a bit rough.probably from shipping the guitar to the store. Plays great now. Kudos to all here.

I've owed Long & McQuade money for 15 years. I can't stop shopping there - Burlington especially. I don't even live in the area anymore and I still go there because I've never had a bad experience with them. They're always helpful and their advice is second-to-none. I just wish I had more money.

I have likely spent around $20k here since 2002, and I’m only 30. Even walking in today, I see some of the same faces working there I’ve been seeing for more than a decade. That’s always a good sign.

Always helpful but not pushy, a truly diverse and large inventory, and embedded in the local community. Burlington would not be the same without this store.

Went in just to browse as I was interested in getting my first Keyboard and wasn't planning on actually pulling the trigger quite yet. Spoke to a nice gentleman about his thoughts on keyboard key action and ended up walking out with a Yamaha P-125. I can't remember his name but his employee code was RPLOS. Very patient with me and all my questions. 11/10 would browse keyboards again.

I've always been a happy customer of L&M. I've spent a lot of money there for various guitars and acc's. I recently got one of my guitars serviced there and after a short time, the action was way out of whack. Now at that point, we should have said something (my son who uses the guitar), but this got left and he just lived with it. Until recently when he complained to me.

Now it's been quite some time since the service, but we took it in and talked to one of the tech's about it.after some discussion, they agreed to take a look and fix if necessary - on warranty.

So firstly I'd like to thank L&M for fixing it on warranty when they could have easily and truly said the warranty on the work is over - way over. And made us pay, but nope, they took it in, fixed it and gave it back, all for the price of a set of strings needed anyway.so 5 stars to L&M for standing behind their work and thanks to Wayne as well! We'll continue being loyal L&M customers!

Dropped into the Burlington store to buy a Honeytone Mini amp. I checked in store stock online beforehand and there was stock available. When I got to the store they couldn't find any, in spite of their internal system showing that they had some in stock.

Helpful, friendly service. Not the usual location that I shop at, but everything I was after was in stock. Candy store.

A number of staff members have been there since it was Lakeshore Music— Burlington's best music store during the "Grunge" and '90s Hardcore era. As a result, it's been part of the music community in Burlington for decades through major exports like Finger Eleven and Grade. I always like seeing Tim Park and Ian Roberts, who both provide excellent service and help, as well as relative "newcomers" Sir Iain Lannen, Chris Steed, and jovial Ron Elliott. Excellent service all around.

I needed to replace some audio equipment today and called Long & McQuade (Burlington). The staff patiently worked out what gear I needed to match my current gear. I went to the store to pick up and complete the transaction. When I got there I stood at the curbside pickup that was well marked and spoke through an intercom to the staff. They showed me through a window the bits I needed then completed the transaction. Then while I stood back behind a painted line they brought my stuff out and put it in a basket. They then went back in and I stepped up to collect my goods. We chatted while the transaction processed, joked a little and were otherwise normal except they were behind a glass door and we needed the intercom. What a great experience. The benefits of a nation-wide chain with the personal touch of a local music store. I always feel welcome and valued at L&M, well-helped and never pressured to buy something that isn't right for me, especially at the Burlington location.

I have had mixed experiences here, some of the staff seem as though they don’t want to be there and are heavily inconvenienced by even a simple question, I was lucky enough to deal with Andrew and Chris when I purchased my 2011 Gibson explorer pre owned at this store and they really changed my perception. These are upstanding guys who like to talk gear and actually help their customers. Deal with either of those guys and you’re in good hands.

We rented a guitar here for my daughter who is an absolute beginner. The person who was helping us treated us very kindly and didn’t make us feel like we’re somehow not good enough because we practically know nothing about guitars. He helped to choose a guitar for her, helped with tuning and showed my daughter some quick “get started” tips. Fantastic service. Thanks!

I went in to shop for sheet music, and came out with a grand piano. A great experience as I have had for years at this store. An outstanding sales experience with Mr. Mike Stevenson, who handled the purchase of my piano on the store's behalf. I would recommend Mr. Stevenson and Long & McQuade to anyone looking for consultation on a new piano.but I caution you if you are "just going in for some new sheet music. "
