Food was expensive for what you got. Fish and chips don't even come with coleslaw. Interior is dated. Service was great

Haddock and chips were good and the Cole slaw was excellent. Our server had a great sense of humour and was quite efficient. Very good experience all round!

5 star for all. Fish was perfect and not oily at all. Fries are great and the battered shrimp was excellent. The server was friendly with a smile and the atmosphere is perfect for a place you'd want to get fish and chips. Came here often as a child with my grandparents and happy to say the place is timeless

Never open, lol. Drove 2 hrs as my uncle loved this place to find out closed couldn't believe it will never come back.

Tried this place while camping and had to go back again before we left. The food was amazing and their cracklin poutine was my favourite.

Sadly this port town on Lake Huron restaurant serves frozen fish only from afar, not anything locally sourced. Nothing and I mean nothing beats fresh fish and chips and this isn’t it. We had the frozen halibut. It was okay as far as halibut goes but you get the same quality in any other fish and chips place that serves frozen fish. That could be in London, Windsor, Kitchener, etc. Very pricey! Wow!

Also we noticed this place is for sale.

Good points however do exist: it’s clean and has friendly staff. Picnic tables out front exist because of previous Covid measures and these picnic tables have nice rounded corners.

We waited a long time. There was only one other table of customers present. Utterly ridiculous.

Overall: They should just close it. It’s nothing special. We felt it a waste of our time.

Great service! Fantastic fish and chips. The tartar sauce is so good we bought some and took it home.

I had a the poutine and small Caesar salad. Poutine had very small amount of shredded cheese instead of curds. Salad was wet lettuce with some type of powder sprinkled on top. Shameful

Fish was excellent but had to pay a buck more for a bread roll. $1.50 for tiny cole slaw. These should be included.

Great lunch today. Full plates meant we left full. Fish, fries and coleslaw all amazing. The meal arrived so quickly after ordering. Nice and hot.

Great food and staff. On a very busy lunch time, the owner came out and put up umbrellas at the outdoor tables. That kind of service rarely happens these days at restaurants.

We come ever year while on vacation have been coming since I was a little lady now I bring my own children

Some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. The fries/chips are a bit pricey compared to the fish, but nonetheless enjoyable.

Haddock and chips were delicious. 2 pieces of fresh haddock were perfectly sized for healthy portions. Fresh cut fries were delicious, and great with the fish.

The waiter (Greg) was the best waiter I ever had. He was always on top of things and made sure we got what we needed really quick. He was also super friendly and funny.

My friends and I had the haddock fish and chips and they were amazing. The onion rings were also really good. The garlic bread was perfect too.

The food was delicious and the portions good.
But, at 30 $ it was over-priced. I have always enjoyed the Lord Elgin and rarely go to Port Elgin without stopping in.

Good quantities and quality food. Loved the fish and chips. Prices are good. Lots of seating. Many senior citizens when we visited on a week day. Excellent service

Apparently the fish is good, everything is cheap freezer food, they made us wait 5 mins while they decided who out of the 2 of them was to serve us having the conversation right in front of us. Then gave us a bad table, so asked to be moved, sat down and the cutlery and glasses where dirty. The older waitress btw should not be working there.really bad customer service.

Went here for years. 1st time this year. Will not be back. Hardly any fish in too much batter. Greasy pay extra for Cole slaw or a bun used to be included with meal. Plus prices way up. Will not be back.

I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
The fish is good but they OVER CHARGE for very small portions.
They mainly targeting tourist so they will charge you an arm and leg since you are just a visitor.
STAY AWAY.

This is the best fish and chips place in Ontario, hands down. If you haven't gone here and tried the Halibut fish, it is a must try!
