Louis Cifer Brew Works

I can't recommend this place even though I really wanted to like it. I wanted a brewery pub in the neighborhood.

The beer is very expensive, unjustifiably expensive. I only had one beer, 13oz, and it was OK. Nothing special. But the food is very poor. My southwest chicken sandwich was wet with apple coleslaw and jalapeno pickle juice, to the extent that this brine overpowered all other flavours. The blackened salmon and cajun rice was clumsily over-seasoned. The powdered spice in the rice wasn't fully hydrated, it was almost earthy. The salmon was more muddy than blackened.
Pretentious, avoid.

Ridiculously over-priced.blackened salmon was over-spiced (not heat, just too over coated) and over-cooked.the rice was old-ish and over-spiced (too much stuff in and on it) and they two did NOT pair well AT ALL.just poorly thought out recipe.very disappointing. Whoever designed that Hell's Chicken Sandwich doesn't really understand food. The pickled jalepenos were not drained and then added coleslaw on a crispy chicken sandwich which not only drowned out the chicken flavour, but it leaked EVERYWHERE. 14oz beer $9! GOOD GRIEF.no! Server was blah and not memorable, and didn't really offer anything to the experience. The place was empty, she had time to pamper guests. Won't be going back any time soon. Oh, when we complained about the portion of beer for $9 (expecting a PINT) our server tried to school us on how it's "Supposed to be", as if she was personally offended by our comment. Then she had a very tepid vibe with us for the rest of the visit. Complete FAIL.

I had a bad customer service experience at the restorant. The waitress the black girl with a long hair she was so rude. She have a bad attitude and she is not so professional. The other waitress her name is Maria she also have difficulty of communicating with customers. Me and my sister went there to have a drink, before we get sited we ask Maria we have our own food we are here for a drink and she said it is ok.we can eat our food and she brought us our drink Five minute later the black girl came and told us we are not allowed to eat in the restaurant but we explained for her that Maria told us it is ok. That is how the argument started. First of all the restaurant owner need to hire some body who can understand and communicates with customers in a proper way, the black girl
with the long red hair she shouldn’t be there, she have a bad attitude, she yelled at us, and she also took away our drink claims that she is manager of the restaurant. Maria is a lier. We literally ask her before we get a sit and if it is ok to eat inside the restaurant our own food but as soon as she communicate with the girl she dined. Louis Cider is a good option for a beer at Danforth. The food options are good too. We order some nachos and the portion is well served and delicious. My favorite beer was the red one.

Just head east along Danforth from the Music Hall yo-yo will find the brew works. I admit, you wander into the heart of Greek Town and Louis Cifer and its Cajun / southern flare may not be on the top if your list, however, change it up bit - you won’t be disappointed! Ambiance alone, you have to love seeing a brewery sitting at the side of the restaurant, the canning machines looking like someone had just stepped away from their station for 30 seconds and bags of malt, barley, and hoops piled up.

If you You walk into a micro brewery without grabbing a tasting flight, you are doing it all wrong. With well over a dozen brewed in-house varieties to choose from, the trouble was narrowing down my choices to just four. From house regulars to seasonal specials - there is always something new to try every visit. Todays favourite of the four, Smashing Cranberry - refreshing with a great bite. For those that are not huge beer fans, they had two ciders on tap, a huge wine and liquor selection, and pages of mixed cocktails. Something for everyone!

The food was tasty, although, the portions were a bit small for the price. At the same time I walked away satisfied and certainly not hungry. Between the four of us at the table, nothing but positive comments all around. The food was very fitting, the southern twist went well with the southern rock band we were going to see down the road at Danforth Music Hall.

And finally the service - talk about friendly, fast, and there to answer any question you may have had.

My only disappointed, they have a dog friendly menu which had ice-cream and peanut butter. Yes they have a separate menu for your canine best pal. I SOOOOOO wanted that for dessert, but sadly, didn't qualify. Next time, I may need to bring a dog just to be able to order it and MAYBE share.

July 2023 uodate: just visited for a Saturday brunch. Great options. Loved the patio seating as well.

Always having new brews to try, with great food. The brewpub has a great atmosphere, and is worth repeat visits. On your way out, don't forget to stop by the bottle shop.

This is one of our favorite places to go! Great brewery with tasty food! We go there with our child. The owner is such a kind and friendly person. I definitely recommend this place!

The sweet potato fries and the deep fried pickles won me over at the end of the night. The fish tacos were especially good, a little spicy if you’re not used to spice but soo good. The BBQ pulled pork tacos were soo good! The drinks are good aswell. Great place to watch a game!

We only ordered drinks and I really loved mashing cranberries beer. It has a very pleasant sour taste.

Excellent customer service and has a great enclosed patio. It also has an excellent dog menu. The food was hearty and tasty with generous portions. My dog loved his bone, and the doggy dessert definitely was a hit!

I was wondering between 2 and 3 stars but will go with three because of their pet menus and good behaviour with dogs, food portions are so small in comparison to their high prices. Vegetables and salad were fresh but the taste was not as expected.

Amazing service our server was so nice and very quik summers cocktails were not mentioned to us and food was medicore. Wings fantastic Ribs not that great fish was good kinda of soggy on the inside Great portions though so definitly not cheap Just wished it tasted bettter. Great place to have a drink but food was a 3 star.

I was there on a Saturday night.the host was good it was all downhill after that.the servers are all cold. I had one of the best beers I have after had in my life.but no one seemed to care.servers didn't make eye contact and.didn't want to talk about their beers.servers having great conversations amongst themselves.but turn cold when i talk to them.to top it all off I was ignored when I wanted to buy cans of beer.dude kept ignoring me while he filled up beer fridge with beer.another dude came along and hastly served me.they were both snappy. I am sorry I came into this establishment and inconvenienced everybody working.never will I come again since I was such an inconvenience to be served beer in an actual brewery.sad to see a potential good place to to be represented with a lack of pride in itself and treats customers as an inconvenience.my first and last visit

Wow. Walked in to try a new area. Bartender is very cold. Won't make eye contact. Won't suggest any beers. After serving she leaves the bar area and sits on her computer and ignores me even though I'm the only patron. Her pour is 20% foam. And when I say that's wrong for a $9 beer she says that's the way life is.

My beer is empty for 9 minutes before she looks up from her tinder profile and rudely offers a second beer. Then 12 minutes to offer a third which I decline.

This could be the worst human being I've ever encountered. I'm actually shaken for the future of the human race. This ain't the " Danforth" I was expecting.

Closed early then stated, update your times if that’s the case. Been to brunch and it was fine
