Honestly the best food I have found in a while, the staff are extremely nice and very accommodating. I literally take the TTC for 35 minute each way just for this place. Best part is, there's a giant Tiger next to it so you can look at random stuff while you wait. Iv yet to have a single bad experience from here

Very bad experience.
The manager of the store was very rude.
I ordered 2 spicy chilli chicken and 2 spicy Manchurian chicken fried rice.
They messed up my order. There wasn't any spicy or flavor added to my order. The food was so bland. I called to complain and she was very rude and hung up my phone.
I would never order from them again.

Can you pls remove dine in, if you dont have dine in. Some people come from far away, just to eat at your restaurant

Used to eat here weekly. Find it easy to get along with the staff, the problem here is the food has gone fully Chinese and tastes burnt and terrible. I think the kitchen staff are just cooking like there at home and not a restaurant. My chilly and kung pow chicken both had burnt black bean sauce

Iv see other people complain when I'm in there lately, the staff seem to think people are just making a fuss but there have been massive negative changes to the food.

The Lucky's at Midland is still serving Hakka that's spot on the same as the recipe.

Every restaurant has bumpy days but this is now every time we order, so we're just gonna go get sushi.

Food is usually really good. My favourite dishes are Special Spicy Chicken and Szechuan Beef. Spicy but good!

For more than a decade I been ordering same food (2 Manchurian mixed fried rice, one of them extra spicy and 1 chilli chicken dry) at midland and Lawrence location. I never had any issues. Even though this location (Scarborough golf club) is closer than midland and Lawrence to me, I hesitate to order here because some of my friends complained they always mess up the order. Today I was in hurry I end up ordering here. I asked for one extra spicy one regular spice Manchurian mixed fried rice. I gave it to my kids they both complained it was sweet. Even the extra spicy one was sweet. It had lot of big pc of onion, chicken was sweet. I called and complained, they asked to bring it back to replace it. Unfortunately it was almost closing time I would not make it till 10: 10 even if I left right away. I requested if they can deliver or wait for 10-15 min. They refused to wait even for extra min. They asked to bring it next day if I needed credit. I told them
I would have to bring it after work and it will be hard for me. I requested if they can wait few min extra and they refused. Later I called back few time to tell them I will bring back after work but after seeing my number they did not pick my phone even though it was before 10 pm. Very disappointed with the service. Waste of my money. Never ever going back to this location again.

The best Chilli Chicken hands down in the GTA! Not the healthiest option but damn it hits the spots every time can’t get enough of it

I recently visited Lucky Chinese Restaurant and had their delicious fried rice. It was amazing! The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The fried rice was cooked perfectly with a great blend of flavors. It had tender chicken, succulent shrimp, and fresh vegetables, all seasoned just right. The portion size was generous, and the presentation was impressive. I left feeling fully satisfied. Lucky Chinese Restaurant offers a wide variety of traditional Chinese dishes, so there's something for everyone. Whether you like spicy or more mild flavors, their menu has it all. I highly recommend trying their fried rice and exploring their diverse menu for a delightful dining experience.

Take only you would think the person taking the order on the phone would at least try and be polite instead condescending and short never will I order here again spent our 70 dollars at Hakka 1 where they treat customers decent not a competitor buy keep up fooling yourself arrogance to the max

Today we specially told them noodles should so spicy and check the salt as well as there was no salt in our previous order but they did same thing …no salt and noodles wasn’t spicy … very bad service wasted my $20 Bucks

Honestly I have been enjoying lucky Chinese both locations for over 10 years, I always enjoy the hot and sour soup. I ordered few things yesterday along with hot and sour soup which was such a disappointment. The soup was sweet and extremely thick. I called the restaurant and the lady advised I bring in the soup which than she will decide if the soup was incorrect. Like that’s a bit of inconvenience to go out of my way especially while I’m under the weather just to prove my point. Management should take accountability and handle complaints with care because Now I will think twice before I order anything from here. A little disheartened how this was handled.

Became a regular customer.most of the foods are awesome.they gave sufficient portions for the price.and the food is ready in 20 min.if you really want to have a good meal for average price, this is one of the restaurants to visit. I like the chilli chicken, chilli fish, chilli shrimp, chicken Manchurian, no spicy fried rice.i like the chilli flakes and Green chilli sauce. I didnt like the orange chicken, lot of food color.sometimes fried rice is bit oily.on the whole it's good.have to try other dishes

Consistently serving great food. Last take out was on Jan 1,2022. Had to wait an hr for the food to be ready after placing phone order due to the sheer volume of orders they receive. I expected food to be not great coz of this and boy I was wrong. It wasn't greasy, it wasn't salty (I had to add salt) and it was tasty as usual. Their consistency in delivering great food is what makes me drive from Pickering. Will continue to go (until they change their chef and screw up my food like every other Hakka place around:).

I ordered small soup and chili chicken and wait more than 1 hour and she is telling me she can give me large and still waited with my child. Lack of customer service.

Placed a party tray order of Singapore noodles and specifically asked for less oil, knowing how much they love using oil here.  I am very disappointed with your order as there was a pool of oil at the bottom of the foil tray. Went straight to garbage, I'm done with this place!

Your order will be ready in 15 to 20 minutes but when you go you wait an hour then you complain and no apology at all just rudeness. We won't be back.
Their response is a lie, there was no apology given the lady on the phones response to the complaint was "what do you want me to do", then I stated refund our money because we hadn't received our order. A refund was given because we didn't receive any food.duh

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for as long as I can remember and would HIGHLY recommend it. The food is always amazing. Their seafood soup, chili chicken and Cantonese chowmein are definitely my comfort foods and source of cravings, alongside other dishes. Overall, great price for the portions of food and will definitely continue coming back here.

The food is extremely salty and does not taste good. The rice was sticky, clumpy, and just plain gross. The chicken balls and wings I ordered were inedible, it seemed the chef cooked them in just salt. They do give generous portions of the rice, so if you actually eat here, one order of rice is enough for 4-6 people. Which is the reason for the two star rating, otherwise I would only give them one.

The food is always amazing. True comfort food. Been going to this place since I was a child and I always get the chilli chicken.

Its ok. Some days are better than others. Don't bother ordering if they close in an hour. They do not push the quality out. *OLD REVIEW 2-3 star

Not sure what's going but they have gotten better and more consistent with all dishes. I can say I'm enjoying the place way more now. Flavor is up and oil is down! Keep it up please! Best days to order IMO Wednesday and Thursday. 4 - 4.5 now

It use to be very good but now that is take out is disgusting! We were very upset because the food was horrible, the pacoras were burned and hard, the calamari was so rubbery and old. The other dishes were super oily and had so much sugar, the rice wasn’t cook correctly. We are not going back!

The quality of meat is okay, but it is pricey stick to the lunch menu specials. I feel like thats more bang for your buck. Also didn't have dessert which was disappointing.

Great experience! I always order through there UberEats and the food always arrives fresh and the order notes are always followed.

HORRIBLE FOOD! The pakoras were not even cooked, it was all full of flour and just undercooked, threw it all out in the garbage. I felt so embarrassed in front of my guests, the chilli chicken was so dry and there was literally no gravy in it. I called them and they didn’t do anything about it.all they said was that they can give only some gravy for the next visit.worst service ever. Don’t order from them if you have guests

My personal favourite restaurant in this area. I have been coming here since I was a kid. Generous portion sizes and great value not to mention super delicious hakka food.

Love the food here and they are pretty consistent with their fried rice and other chicken dishes! Will absolutely recommend them for those craving Hakka Chinese.

This used to be my family's go to spot for Hakka food. Over the years the quality and taste of their food has gone down significantly.

The wonton soup was disgusting, I’ve had soup with lettuce and the spring roll tasted like it was stale. I wouldn’t order from here again.yuck

Great portions, good food, value for the expenses, Slightly more oily dishes.but that’s the only drawback.great taste though. And quick friendly service. Also easy for take out as food is ready in 15 mins if you pre order.

I use to frequent here for dine in and now with takeout only I still come here often. I think they offer delivery now through UberEats.

Used to be one of my Fav spots for Hakkah Chinese. Lately they increased the price, reduced the containers size, reduced the amount of chicken in the dish and added a whole lot more onions/chilli to fill the container. The chicken isn’t as lean, it’s heavily battered! This is bring down the quality and name you guys!

One of my Fav spots for Hakkah Chinese. Lately they increased price of main dishes. The chicken is not as lean / clean please take off fat off boneless chicken and apply less bread crums to maintain original taste. As fat on boneless pieces will bring quality and name down. KEEP meat lean please. Will try again next week!

Best Hakka ever. Unique taste and always worth the drive to Scarborough from Milton. You can't get Chicken Spicy Pakora like this anywhere. (Warning; real spicy) Thanks for lovely menu and extremely good service.

Very disrespectful restaurant. Always or if you go Early, they give you the left overs and the chicken is still and saugy. Low quality food and price went up to much. Hakka not in the books anymore but if you like Chinese food don't come to this location.

I visit this spot a lot since I work close by. I have to say their service is always great and they keep the place neat all the time. Rates are reasonable and they serve big portions.

Didnt like this place at all.ordered all sea food hot and sour soup.chicken pakora and chicken rice.the soup was fine.pakoras has more flour than any chicken.the rice was not even eatable

Lucky Chinese is a part of my childhood and I'd have no problem with it becoming adulthood. The food is mouth-watering and I'd be down for it any day. I've been going to it for as long as I can remember, and I've never had a single problem.

If you're looking for some simple Chinese/Chinese-influenced cuisine that isn't too fancy, but somewhere you can go on the regular, Lucky Chinese is the right spot for you!

I ordered for manchurian beef and it was aweful as the spice was uncooked. You could get the raw smell of spice. You should change the name to unlucky restaurant serving lousy food. To me it was a dish not worth it.

Very good hakka Chinese food. Their chili chicken and chicken pakora are to die for. Their Singapore noodle is also very good.

I absolutely love this food. I come from Miami and the ginger fish is a must eat (multiple times) every time I come to Toronto. I always ask for less oil when I order because sometimes it can be oily. Amazing food. Give it a try!

It was worst experience ever, I ordered for garlic chicken and veg pakora but staff handed over curry Curry and rice. They don't even feel bad about their service. Not recommended.

First off, a hakka joint should be judged primarily on its dry chili chicken. You can order it with gravy but you are opting for a crappier version of the dish. You are robbing your mouth of properly experiencing the interplay of the spices, the garlic, the chili and the crispy onions. I'm going to go out on a limb and say the vast majority of hakka dishes taste better dry.

After all that this is the best Hakka place in Scarborough. Federick's and tangerine should only be on the list if Lucky's has suffered a grease fire from the ridiculous amounts of oil they use. This place can be inconsistent during the week so I only go on the weekends and yes, there is way too much oil and yes, the ambience leaves a lot to be desired and yes, the area is sketchy. But still, it is the place I love the most. Order whatever you want, just know it will be greasy and oily and delicious and definitely better dry.

Today We went to replace the wrong given order and I asked a staff member why they got the order wrong.then, this one goofy said she was the manger and that we were more than welcome not to come back, it’s looked like she is giving free food, however, the other staff are very kind and nice.we will never step foot in this restaurant again.

They are one of my fav Hakka Chinese places for last 15 years. They have maintained quality for very good price. I love their chilli chicken, Hakka noodles Singapore noodles. The give 10% discount for cash pick up orders and give free rice with orders.

July 3rd 2019 - 2.30pm. We visited for lunch this afternoon for our first time dine in in your restaurant at Midland/Lawrence Ave. Good food but very de-motivated and arrogant servers. No courtesy, no welcome, walked away after the first eye contact let us find our own tables, just placed the menu cards on the table corner no communication and walks away again. Had to wait, felt ignored & after a while had to call to place our order. Lady Server on duty forget the smile just placed the food on the table corner without identifying the request but with some unwarranted comment. On our way out found the male server arguing and shutting up a customer when he enquired on the post 10 minute delay of his pick up order rudely offering his money back though he insisted he never came to that extreme and just enquired about his pick up order. Mr. OWNER all I want to say is WATCH OUT and re train your staff to have a lasting healthy business - we live in a very fast social media world. Good Luck! Regards PK

This location use to sell best chilli chicken ever. Now in 2019 it's horrible horrible horrible and tastes disgusting. It belongs in trash. Their Midland location still serves old style chilli chicken but still not the way it use to be. Very disappointed!

Some of the worst Chinese food in Scarborough. No jokes. Try the pakoras Nasty greasy and salty. I’m surprised this place still have costumers.

A good place to eat Chinese food. Good quality food for everyone to taste. On way between Toronto and Ottawa, it a good place to enjoy with family and friends. Good ambience adds to enjoyment.
