Lucky Clover Irish Sports Pub

On Christmas Day 2023, I embarked on a quest to find a breakfast spot & stumbled upon Lucky Clover on Lower Simcoe Street by the water in downtown Toronto.

To my delight, Lucky Clover was open & serving breakfast until 3pm—a true gem on a holiday. The restaurant, although not bustling, offered a quiet & pleasant atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed holiday meal.

Our server, while initially needing prompting of our arrival, was friendly throughout. While not going above & beyond, their pleasant demeanor contributed to a positive dining experience.

However, a minor hiccup arose with the condiments. The limited selection—only grape jam for toast, & peanut butter that was separated & liquid—could use a bit of improvement. It didn't detract significantly from the experience but stands out as an area with potential for enhancement.

Overall, Lucky Clover provided a welcome refuge for a Christmas Day breakfast, & I'd recommend it for those seeking a calm spot with decent breakfast offerings in downtown Toronto.

I don't understand why this place has such a low rating. The food is very tasty, the beer is excellent and there is a large selection, they broadcast various sports. Great sports bar

Good local pub. Nice big TV screens for catching the game. A bit disappointed with my Kilkenny beer. Too much head when poured, and was not cold enough.

A solid choice if you’re looking for an Irish Pub. Cool wood work and bar with a heavy social and sports emphasis. Our group had a great lunch. Located right by many tourist attractions and convention centers.

Food was okay. Service was fine. Only issue was there were lot of flies going around the food, so cleanliness could have been improved

Very nice, fast an friendly service pet friendly too.walking distance to the waterfront and metro convension center, Rogers centers and Scotia arena, very reasonable priced.

Some of our food was excellent - seared tuna app, lobster dip, garlic steak. Some of our food was.gross.including overcooked chicken strips, overcooked fish, and bland/undercooked fries. Service was lacking - we asked to sit outside and they sat us in the uncovered section even though the entire covered patio was available and it was forecasting rain. When it started raining, we had to go inside to ask for a dry table because our server never checked on us (to see how our food was or when it started raining).

The Lucky Clover is a gem of a spot. While being next to the dome and all things touristy, it doesn't pander to the tourists! It will of course be busy after a game or an event but normally quite subdued with a great Irish pub atmosphere and a bunch of tv's if you are into the sports.

Just went to watch the last of the ufc fights and get a drink. The bar itself doesnt really flow well. The layout could use some work. As far as service. Was good as far as I was able to see.

The server did a wonderful job, so let it be known that the 2 stars does not reflect her.

I took 4 small sips of my pint of Guinness and found it to be off, and wanted to exchange it for cider. I did this quietly to the server, and didn't announce it in front of the patio.

The 2 stars reflects the response of the manager to me sending what I considered a pint of Guinness to be lack-luster, back.

He returned with the server and spent nearly 2 minutes trying to explain that his beer was fine.

This is a fine example of terrible customer service, and the reason why I'm writing this review at all, instead of just not returning to this pub, quietly.

The lobster dip and the Strongbow cider was fine.its too bad the manager.wasn't.

Brunch was great, espresso Martinis are really good, Amanda our server was amazing. Friendly and very attentive.
Unfortuantly the coffee was atrocious. Cream curdled in it oddly, didn't taste like coffee at all.

Finally tried out their brunch today, with the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, and it was quite enjoyable. The shaded outside patio is quite nice too.

We go there all the time for drinks and food. It’s a great place that offers big portions and the good is good. The Dorito nachos are the best!

I was very happy with the service here. Great location. And the drinks were cold. I didn't have a bite to eat so I can't give feedback on that. But from what I saw everyone else eating, it looks delicious!

Sunday breakfast in an Irish pub. Pleasantly surprised! Great service. Nice patio. Omelets were really good. Fun crowd for the soccer game at the bar. Authentic pub decor.

Came here as part of a decent size party. The service was good at the beginning, but I had ordered a drink towards the end of my night and it was never delivered. It wasn't charged either so I was ok with it, but not ecstatic.
It's a darker place very much like other pubs I've visited. I found the food saltier then I had expected, but still within reason.

Happily surprised with their brunch. Had the London omelette and the waffle and it really hit the spot. Good quality food. Just what I needed after a night out. Super friendly staff too. I’ll be back

Alright whatever you do don’t order the potato skins. They’re not normal potato skins. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Their beef burgers were good and their fries were delicious! The sauces come on the side.

The waitress was nice and she was prompt with our requests for drinks. Overall she was fantastic.

I hear the wings are very good.

Good drinks and a nice atmosphere. My only complaint is that it’s really hot in there, we were all sweating

Nice Irish/sports pub just across from the Rogers Center. Plenty of TV's for sports. Food was decent. Drinks were also good, but very slow to come out.

Just came here for some beers but service was excellent and prices were reasonable for the area!

My husband and I stopped in after the game. Seated right away but waited forever to be served after the big tables that arrived after us. Our food came out timely after finally ordering and it was delicious. Almost half an hour later with no follow up service we had to hunt down someone to bring us a bill. Very unorganized and unfriendly service.

Nice Irish pub and good service. Away from the crowded street but close to the main places like Rogerc center etc.

The location is great as it's very close to the Rogers centre for pre game drinks. The beer and ciders on tap had a very strange taste to them which was a bit off. Their onion rings were quite good though.

Not sure what the Irish Stew and Classic Martini was supposed to taste like but very average experience. A cool place though that felt empty

Over 35 min wait time for a wrap on two different occasions, each time I asked for side salad I got the fries instead. Note that the occupancy was at 30-40%.

The sign says the best guiness in town… yet very flat…

Most of the food is frozen (burger and chicken fingers).

For a 27$ stew I would expect the meat to melt in my mouth… it didn’t.

Unfortunately it’s another « we are downtown toronto so we get to charge expensive frozen food »

I would not recommend, unless you are only watching a game the building is quite nice.

Long wait for any service after seated - estimate the restaurant/bar was at 1/2 capacity. Had to flag someone down, not apologetic - first strike. Ordered drinks, took 20 mins for 2 beers - strike two. Ordered calamari and pickle spears - took another 20 mins. Calamari was clearly out of a bag, jalapeños were hard and almost inedible (clearly over cooked). Pickles were ok, but not great. Strike 3. Bumping music at the bar. This place has lost its purpose & directional compass. That’s unfortunate. Will not be back. #PlainLuck
