Barry is awesome! He has helped me keep my car in excellent condition for years. Even though I've moved further away I still go to him regarding any fix because I know I'll get the best advice, quality service at the best rates.

Everything you read on the reviews are true about Barry. From the first time I met him to when he gave me my keys back, he is a true professional. My car needed a lot of work done (brakes, rotors, calipers and water pump). I dropped my car off to him and within an hour he called me and explained to me all the issues with my car. He then gave me a price and had my car ready by the end of the day. While working on my car he sent me photos of the before and after of all the parts he changed out. He even keeps the parts for you to review yourself. To top it all off, Barry texted me the next morning to ask how the car was running. Honestly, I have never had a mechanic call/text me afterwards to follow up. Barry gives mechanics a good name! I will not take my car anywhere else except Lucky Eight Auto!

Recently moved to the area and was looking for a trusty auto repair shop. The shop owner Barry is very professional. My car had few issues, I called the day before, with no hesitation he agreed to look at my car and got it fixed in no time the following day. Clean shop, over the top customer service, prices are extremely fair. I have to mention the waiting room has a big screen TV for movies, and also an Arcade game machine with over 1000 games for customers to enjoy while waiting and also refreshments. Well deserved 5 stars. Will definitely go back if needed and will definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Barry the owner is friendly, honest and helpful. He genuinely works towards both responding to inquiries and completing the repairs promptly. He has never suggested any unnecessary repairs to me. Prices are reasonable. The waiting room is comfortable while the shop floor is uncluttered.

I'm new to this area and I was dreading needing to find a new reliable repair shop. The time finally came and I needed to get some work done (ball joint, brake pads, rotors and calipers). I couldn't believe how thorough they were and kept me posted on every step of the way.they even sent before and after photos of the work they did which to me went a long way. They picked me up at my house and drove me back to the shop to make sure I wasn't going to drive away disappointed and to show that they rectified the issue I was experiencing with my brakes. I could not recommend them enough and I truly appreciate the customer service they provide. They've gotten themselves customers for life for any repairs myself or spouse need. Thank you Lucky Eight!

Being a ex mechanic of over 20 years I'm very picky who I let touch my vehicle, but Barry and the entire lucky 8 team have taken my worries away.
Professional, fair, honest, and very very knowledgeable are just a few ways to describe Barry and his team.

Our car would've still been in the dealer's service lot, waiting for a part that was on back order if it wasn't for Barry. We ended up not even having to replace the part because Barry came up with another (much more affordable) solution that worked! The issues with my vehicle were explained clearly to me. Love it.
The owner seems like a tough guy but he has a heart of gold.
They also gave me an option to continue with the work or not. No unexpected expenses or work done.
They fixed my vehicle on short notice with no prior appointment.
They understand that some people have been burned in the past by other mechanics.
There is also a really cool custom arcade cabinet in their waiting area.
If you're the kind of person who gets easily overwhelmed when serious car troubles come up, this shop will likely be a safe bet for you.

Have been going to Lucky8 for years for my and my daughters car. Always fair. Always transparent. Always honest. Barry understands service. Most recently brought my Volkswagen EOS into get fixed. He did the research and it would cost thousands to replace the specialized muffler. After researching cost he drove it to an associate who specializes in welding and got it fixed for a tenth of the cost. Honest to a fault in his charging for his liaison and research. Barry does it all. He is an oxymoron.an honest mechanic. He takes pride in his work. You will never be disappointed.

I have several cars in my household and have been going to Lucky 8 for many years. Barry is the most honest, knowledgeable, straight forward person I have every done business with. (and I have dealt with countless individuals and companies over my 30 years in business) His word and integrity means everything to him and that certainly carries over to his business. He always has his customers' best interest (and pocketbook) in mind, his work is impeccable, always on time and he stands behind every job he does, no matter how much time has passed. I would not take my vehicles anywhere else.

I went there to get my tires balanced as my car was shaking and was told I would need a front control arm replaced as well as alignment done for a total over $600+
I bought the part under $100 and got that replaced @ $100 at a different place but the vibration remained.
I then took to a third place and he balanced the tires for $60 and the vehicle drives smooth again.
I had initially gone for balancing in the first place!

This was my first time with Lucky Eight, I had a flat tire and they were able to accommodate me on very short notice. Barry was very genuine, very knowledgeable and accommodating. Have been coming to Lucky Eight for nearly a year now for several maintenance and wear-and-tear jobs (our car transitioned out of warranty, and we didn't want to pay dealer prices for basic tasks). Barry and crew are always on point with both advice and the work. It's not the cheapest place, but gives me the peace of mind that I'll be taken care of if anything happens (once detected a defective part after they installed it - they've replaced at no cost to me). Plan to continue coming there for the foreseeable future.

I was lucky enough to be directed to Lucky Eight a few years ago by a colleague. I always find it difficult to find a mechanic that you can trust. Barry is an honest mechanic who will tell you when you do need something and better yet when you don't. He never tries to sell you something that you don't need, which is rare in the auto repair business. Additionally, he is upfront about what things will cost and I honestly often find myself surprised when things end up costing less than I would have expected.

I first found Barry and Lucky 8 when I had to replace my Leased Van's windshield before returning it to the Dealership. He was so professional and honest and straight forward to deal with that I knew I had to go back to him when I needed my brakes done. He gave me an honest quote on the spot and was able to squeeze me in the same day (may not always be the case). He even dropped me off back home which was an added touch of customer service. He is a family guy with 3 kids and so am I so I felt that I could trust him as this industry is known to be full of scammers and dishonest people.

I will for sure go back to Lucky 8 and Barry for anything else I need done. I am a business owner myself and the world needs to have more honest business people as we all have our own areas of expertise. Glad to have found these guys! Go to them, call Barry!

I just bought a house in Richmond Hill and the day of closing I was driving my Subaru Forester, packed with my belongings and heading to my new house. As I was driving, all of a sudden there was a long hesitation (2-3 seconds - and getting worse as I drove) when I pressed the gas pedal. I was able to make it home, but by the time I got there, the car couldn’t get in the garage.

I found Lucky Eight, which was really close to where I live. I contacted them the next day and spoke to Barry who was very friendly and said he could take a look.

I had it towed, and let them have it for as long as they needed to find and fix the car. A few hours later they called me with the issue fixed. It turns out that the transmission lines we’re rusted/leaking and having them replaced, everything was working great.

Barry and team has earned my trust with their honesty, and great work. I definitely will be going there for all my car needs.

Probably the best shop I've been to in my life. The owner (Barry) is a stand-up guy, and you can tell he takes care of his employees, because I inquired once about the amount of bass coming from the sound system in the back of the shop and he said he has a good sound system to keep his employees happy. This shop isn't even near where I live in Toronto but I use it when I'm at work (Richmond Hill) and would really consider it being the only shop I used if it wasn't so far from my house.

My experiences with Barry at Lucky Eight have only been positive. I'm very impressed with Barry's honesty, knowledge, and integrity.

Few years ago I aporoached Barry with a simple issue with my A/C, and although he seems like a nice guy and is communicative,   the office is nice and tidy and the service is good,   unfortunately I have repeatedly returned to him with the same issue which was not resolved,   paid each time again for the unresolved issue which was supposed to be fixed in the first place and not only that but I found myself paying hundreds of dollars more for other issues that I totally did not expect. I have spent tons of time at this place in an attempt to resolve my car issues but it seems that ever since I started being their client newer and additional issues emerged while the car was well maintained before.   Based on my experience the quality of work and professionalism of his team is unacceptable and not reliable.   The amount of down time of the car and me being away from my work and the total expenses incurred are simply not worth the results I got.   They always dismissed any resposibility and accountability for their work and said none of it is their fault. It is indeed not easy to find reliable and trustworthy mechanics these days that provide real value for the hard earned money we pay.

Took my 2007 750i BMW for transmissions leak, Barry went above and beyond to diagnose and fix the problem. Top notch team and highly recommended.
