I go there almost every day, excellent place to get fresh fruit and they often have a really good variety, e.g. Today I bought a watermelon in January! Wonderful to be able to get fresh fruit any time of the year. Excellent selection of fresh fruits and vegetables and cost effective as well, e.g. Quaker Oats is around $3 something, compared to $5 something at Longo's so it is priced competitively overall, but also right in the heart of downtown. Excellent accessibility by ramp. I have a disability (shoulder injury) and sometimes need a mobility aid to help carry heavy groceries like large watermelon. Lucky Moose Food Mart is accessible by mobility aid or by walker rollator, with a good sweeping curved ramp outside and a good ramp from main level to upper level.
SCAM SCAM SCAM. THIS PLACE IS SCAMM. They been milking customers for no reason.high price products. Unnecessary charges on purchase.pre packed fruits got molds inside.cashier behaves like youre begging them for grocery.very very rude.or maybe its just language barrier.who the hell gave them permit to work here.ima send helth inspector here for sure.
Fruits are a little cheaper, shop has mostly all the items available, the biscuits packaging had names and descriptions written in chinese so if you don't know chinese then it might be a little difficult but rest everything is easy to understand and buy.
Customer service is kind of hit and miss. I had encountered one of the worst cashier in this store.
Overall the store is quite awful. The store is so crammed and dirty. They only allow you to use credit or debit after you spend a certain amount, or you will have to pay surcharge. How pathetic!
Lucky a t&t is open nearby and I won't go to this store anymore. Everyone saying that big grocery chain is taking business away from small businesses, but this sentiment does not apply for this store that does not want customers in the first place.
Classic Asian grocery shop that has everything from fruits, vegetables, and packaged goods. They have a wide variety of canned goods, chips, and drinks from Asia.
It's a cleaner and better super market than the other 2 on Spadina (Kai Wei and hue thanh). The produce is a bit fresher, better and a but more expensive. This is a medium option for you between cheap store like Kaiwai vs expensive one like T&T.
This place is a bit expensive but much cleaner than other supermarket in that vicinity. Some product are very expensive that feels like ripoff so shop after checking the price.
You may expect a variety of grocery products at a reasonable price here. This place is located in the heart of Chinatown and is a good place to find traditional Chinese ingredients. Live seafood are available here, although I am not a fan. I strongly suggest the Roasted Peanut which I buy on every visit. The place is not that clean, and some of the cashiers accept cash only. Overall you get what you expect. No parking, but street parkings are available.
Visited downtown Chinatown while getting some other errands done. Quality of produce better than other markets in the same area. But much more expensive. So depends what you value more. Cleaner on the outside and had more room to move around. Parking is difficult. Street has some but weeknight is no issue. Weekend. Good luck. On the east side of Chinatown just right beside the AGO. It's worth having a look
My go to spot for Chinese groceries! Good selection and prices but be careful with the butcher as they've overcharged me a few times (putting in the wrong item code before weighing)
To those who are complaining about staff not being trained like you're walking into Chanel boutique - you are in food mart in Chinatown. People work really hard there and you can see it, you will never see anyone chatting. Shelves are always well restocked, prices are beyond reasonable, cashiers are very efficient and quick.
Been there twice in 3 weeks. It wouldn't kill you to say hello. And please clean the red shopping carts. The handles are disgusting and we're in a pandemic.
Rude service, the cashier didn’t even look at me or say anything the whole time. When I finished paying she just dropped the receipt behind her like I’m some pest while she went on to attend the next customer. She was only nice and spoke to middle age ladies who speaks Mandarin. I don’t expect 5 star service, just have common decency and some respect for young people too. This supermarket CLEARLY needs to learn some etiquette from T&T supermarket.
This is my favorite Asian grocery in the area. It seems like it's cleaner and better maintained than others around. They always have a good selection of difficult to find ingredients.
The price is good but the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. Most cashier are very rude and not even show any passionate about helping customer. They make me feel I owe them a favour or something.
Price is acceptable.one of the cashier really terrible, she has no sense of customer service.she almost threw my stuff to me after checking out.not nice
Avoid all such places. I bought a pineapple from them as it was 1 dollar compared to market rate of 3 dollar (reference FreshCo) but the pineapple was rotten from inside. Prefer FreshCo, no frills, Loblaws, Sobeys, lingos etc for all your grocery purchases
I love this place, it has the most different things you can imagine. When I want to try different things, that's my to go place. The service could be a little bit better. Also it's not a fancy supermarket but has all the Asian products that you'll not find anywhere else.
One of the best asian mini Food marts locates downtown. They have a lot of asian goods and fresh food for a really good price so if you’re looking to shop for groceries on a budget this place would be perfect. However if you’re looking for fresh fish then this might not be the best choice with the prices being kind of high compared to other places.
Excellent selection of Chinese food at great prices. They also have daily specials on fruit and veggies out front. Some things aren't consistently in stock, they just plain don't carry good peanut butter, and there's slow turnaround on some of their bagged spices (so be careful to purchase only fresh looking ones), but this is still an amazing first choice grocery store. Would, and have, recommended.
Large selection and very efficient service, but it is quite cramped and there isn't a lot of personal space. There also is not much space to manoeuvre around with the baskets and especially the shopping carts, so making big purchases may not be the most convenient.
The being said, I've never noticed an issue with the quality of the goods I've bought here, and Lucky Moose is always my first choice when grocery shopping downtown.
It will become my favourite place to shop.besides it's the best second reason to get to know Chinatown! Thanks everyone there, you are doing, good job!
Many selections for meat, veggies, Chinese ingredients, spices and frozen food. This food mart is my favorite in downtown. Price is decent and aisles are super narrow, but I could found almost everything I need.
Quite large. Everything you need and more. Even women's hygiene product. Asian groceries mostly but a lot of western products too like Campbell's broth.
There is a seafood section in the back and even some cooking items like large ramen bowls and woks. There is a great ramen assortment, melon Popsicles in boxes of 8 and lots of fun drinks like a variety of milk teas.
Cash payment if under 30$, credit card is allowed after 30$.
The price is good but the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. Most cashier are very rude and not even show any passionate about helping customer. They make me feel I owe them a favour or something. Definitely not recommend.
