This used to be my favourite nail salon, but I think that the quality has declined since the management change. I used to get gel manicures that would last 3+ weeks without cracking or breaking, but this time my nails started to chip after about 6 days. It's been about two weeks and they're peeling off, which has never happened to me with gel. The shellac manicure that I had before this one (from a different salon) lasted longer! I was in and out in 25 minutes and it just felt really rushed. Won't be coming back.

Hi, I’ve been a regular customer since 2015 and I can see a positive difference since the management changed. Everything is more organized, clean and atmosphere is way better than before. All my family members coming to this salon and everyone is really happy. I can understand that everyone is experience is different but my experience is much better with the new management. Thanks

Trust the negative reviews! Absolutely ridiculous customer service, rude and disrespectful staff! Been coming here for over 2 years! The quality of work and customer service dropped pretty low since their management changed. Only reason I’d go here was as it is very close to my place. I have seen customers come and complain about their gel nails breaking off a day or two after the service and same happened to me last time. 2 of my nails broke soon after the service and I had to bear the pain until they grew! I called and booked an appointment for today and repeated the time and date at least twice during the call. As I walked in one of the staff told me you always do this you booked for yesterday. I’m sorry what? I work on Fridays why would I book it for Friday morning? Seemed like she was ready to say this as they seemed busy and they overbook and serve only if they are free, doesn’t matter if you have an appointment or not. I’d rather go to the other location where they are experienced and trained and at least show some respect to their customers!

Discussed in store? You never discussed anything with me, the customers already there may have also noticed. You just said ‘you always do this’ and looked away and just made a face when I said I called and made the appointment for that day. You didn’t bother discussing about nothing! That is the level of respect you have for your regular customers.

It baffles me how to maintain your reputation here you just blatantly lied here saying ‘numerous appointments I had booked and not showed up’ It never happened even once!
Anyways I am glad I don’t have to deal with this behaviour anymore. Infact, I want to thank you, as if it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t have found another gem of a place yesterday where I got my nails done! Tc

The customer service is nice however the nail artists don’t have the proper skill, knowledge and tools.

My nails came off in three days and wasn’t satisfied with the designs and their colour collection.
They don’t manicure your nails and just cut and glue a new nail.
It’s really in professional!

First time back after the pandemic and very disappointing experience. The tools they used were very dirty and not cleaned between customers. This is a protocol they should have been following even before covid. The manager was very pushy. Very limited colour choice for shellac nails. Find somewhere else in the area.

Very clean and a lot of Covid protocols in place. Felt very safe. The man who greeted us was so friendly, and pampered us well. Offered us massages, and options of what we wanted to watch on Netflix. Great nail service and great value. Workers were very nice as well. Would definitely recommend.

I was extremely satisfied with the precautions taken at Lux Nail Bar as a result of the Covid-19 situation. The staff were incredibly friendly and comforting regardless of the situation. Clients had to sign a waiver and also have their temperature taken for increased precaution. I would recommend this nail bar to all of my friends and I can say that the exemplary service that was exhibited during my nail appointment will be the reason that I go back to them every time!

I've been a long time Lux customer and was very happy with the covid procedures they've implemented. Hand sanitizer, temperature check and screening upon arrival. Phone numbers taken for contact tracing. All customers and staff wearing masks and plexiglass between stations.

I visited Lux Nail Bar yesterday and was impressed with their COVID protocols. They’re taking it very seriously and it felt safe and clean. They give you hand sanitizer upon arrival and throughout your visit and there is plexiglass between every guest.

Have been coming here for a little over a year now. Always great service, I typically call fifteen min prior to needing an appointment and they have no problem fitting me in.

2.5 stars. Regular pedicures are hit and miss (depends on the person doing it) but twice I went for shellac nails and found myself two days later with it all chipping off. Once was on vacation so I couldn't go back for repairs. I'm not fussy, and even though some of my pedicures have been a bit sloppy I kept going back for the pleasant setting and the owner, when he's there, is friendly. And I think I'm pretty understanding about mistakes but I called and sent an email about my experiences and was treated rudely on the phone and never got a reply to my email, so I'm thinking they don't really want my business.

Been over 30 times, is really depends on the tech you get. Mary was best but she left for school, Kathy was rude and didn’t understand how to slim my nails and Amy is new to this business but fixed a few when Mary was busy and she did a good job.

The customer service went downhill since Ive first been. One girl took my fake nail off and wanted to charge me $5.00 when it was fine. To argue over a small fee makes the business look bad.

More pricy than average, overall experience is all right. Get the job done but I am not impressed, the hygiene condition could improve a bit.

I've been going to different nail salons for the last 6 yrs and this place is by far the best! Not to note I'm an extremely picky person. They're very clean, punctual and polite. The first time I went I was brought there by a friend. No appointment and they took me in 5 mins. 2nd time I made an appointment, I was a few mins late but they still took me right away - no wait time. Each time a different nail tech, with pleasent conversation and each time they've given me the exact shape and color that I wanted and if I wanted to change something there was never an attitude. They're now my permanent fave and I won't be going to anyone else!

I never post reviews but I felt the need to do so for this establishment. Visited this salon on Tuesday for shellac. Next day, shellac started to peel off on both thumbs and my index finger (wish I had taken a picture from that day). Visited salon again on Wednesday to have them fixed. As I walked in, no one greeted us (was with another individual) and finally, one person (the person who happened to do my nails) said “can I help you”. I said “yes, you did my shellac on Tuesday and it’s already peeling off”. The first thing she said was “me? No I didn’t” and I said “yes it was you” and showed her my nails and I got this blue colour that stood out. She then said “oh ya I remember” and told me to sit down. The person with me question if it would peel again as we do not live close and it would be wasting time and money to come back over and over. Very rudely she said “no” and another person chimed in and said “she will fix it properly”. While getting the nails fixed, the technician was very rude, pulling my hands, snickering and just tapping on the machine instead of asking me to put my hand into it. After she finished she said just said “done” and we left. The next day, lone behold two index fingers and a thumb have started to chip (these are the photos I took). Within a week, I’ve had to make a trip back and had pretty much 6 nails chipped and oh not to mention, very unprofessional. Wasn’t able to get the technicians name prior hand but she is quite young and had a mole near her nose. Very unfortunate experience.

Terrible experience. Came to get shellac done with a friend and the lady that did mine totally rushed it. I was done a good 10 minutes before my friend and she started first. Nails were filed unevenly - some were more round and some tips were completely pointed like stiletto style. As per the picture, thumb was completely uneven. About a week and a half later, the paint on the thumb chipped off. This has never happened to me before and I have gotten shellac done many times before. Totally unacceptable.

Got really fast and friendly service. Pedicure and shellac was done simultaneously. Got in and out in 45 mins! Also, the tubs are lined with plastic inserts so you know that its clean. And they have matching shellac and polish sets which makes it easy to match nails and toes.

A couple of years ago, I had a great experience. At a more recent visit, one of the staff nicked my mom during her pedicure and didn’t even acknowledge it though it hurt her and she started bleeding. The salon was extremely busy (on a Wednesday at 2pm) and I felt like service was lacking and communication was poor.

My fiance and we went to get our nails done. We got it done before at the Bathurst location, but when we went this time they were to busy so we went the this location. At first everything was fine but the lady my fiance had gave her attitude. We were paying customers and never should have got attitude. The next day one of her toes started to feel irritated. She found out she had a hang nail and the lady did nothing about it. We will not return to this location. Not happy about the outcome. I would think twice before going here.

Consistently great service and work! Hands down the best nail salon in North York. Make a reservation and bring cash. I have been coming here for years and I am always pleased with the cleanliness, service, and my shellac manicures and pedicures. All the technicians are friendly and talented, but Sam is THE BEST. Thank you, Lux Nail Bar team!

Good customer service is not something you’ll find here. We visited before my sister’s wedding for a girls morning. I was wearing a water-based polish that was difficult to remove, and the nail tech was so incredibly frustrated and rude about it. Talk about your typical nail salon memes, this was even worse. She wouldn’t listen to my idea of scraping at the product to remove it, but when she finally did after huffing and puffing it came off so easily. They paid no attention to mine or my mom’s cuticles, and the polish application was SLOPPY. You can see in the photo where the top coat is. Never returning here, I do my nails so much better.

I had a 1pm appointment on a Saturday and was on time. After waiting for half an hour I had to leave. It was very dirty as well.

Very clean. Tony does his best to get you in. Limited choices (dipping powder, color changing polish etc) but overall great customer service. Always remember you.

Unprofessional. They don’t respect the customers needs. My nails were all different lengths and bumpy and when I complained they did nothing about it.when I was about to leave they literally started fighting and yelling infront of me. Not coming back.

I love this salon.the only salon I trust with all my waxing cause I have never had any reaction after waxing at this salon. My Shellac last long when I get it done here. I moved to Oshawa and still come back here for pedi, Mani and waxing cause I have tried 3 different salons in Durham and the services were horrible and pricey! Customer service is good and the price is great especially if you pay cash!

Sloppy and unprofessional. It felt like they were doing me a favor by doing my nails.girl who was doing my nails left without finishing properly. It sad because It used to be a very good spot few years ago.
