Lyle's No Frills

No Frills is a good place to buy groceries. It is Cheaper than Foodland etc. Grocery store.

Rather than order enough stock to satisfy the towns needs, they bring in the bare minimum and put limits on everything (not just sale items). Staff is nice and friendly and the store is kept clean. But if you're shopping for a family don't expect the store to have what you want or expect to buy the quality you require to carry your family more then a couple days be prepared to go back offen through the week.

Multiple times the workers are ignorant and rude. They see you struggling and think sure let’s make it worse. They remind me of that one aunt that just love’s to cause drama and see people unhappy lol. Not the store I choose to go to anymore.

The store is going downhill especially this last year. No longer finding certain PC products, fresh vegetables and fruits are not fresh, (some fresh vegetables are rubbery, not firm) the cost for these products are outrageous considering the poor quality of what is offered. More often than not, we come home without products we needed.
There has been a steady decline in the past 4 yrs, it's especially noticeable this year 2023. For the amount of profits that the company makes in every quarter of the year, they should be providing better quality at a lower price.
The meat department is horrible, we've been shopping at a different store because the prices are unaffordable in No Frills. $45.00 for a roast when I can go somewhere else and get the same type and size of raost for $23.00 and the other store has better quality of meat. I've noticed that the amount of water, fat in the ground beef is horrible. It doesn't even smell like beef when you cook it. $23.00 for a whole chicken, that I can get the same size for $8.00.
The company is gouging the customers, there's no trouble to see that. The offers that are offered in the PC points card used to be beneficial to the customer, now it's geared towards what No frills wants you to buy. Most things offered, you have to spend way more than what it's worth in order to get the points they offer. I used to be able to save up to $ 200.00 worth of points in a year, now I'm lucky if I even get close to $100.00 worth in a year buying the same products I always have.
So tell me how PC points and NoFrills are supposed to save me anything and that they care at all about their customers. I've yet to see the manager of the store on the floor in over 4 yrs of shopping there. There is no customer service except for the few cashiers that you have working for you.
Definitely beyond disappointed.

Sale? What sale? Even if you go in the starting day of the flyer the product isn’t even available. Even if you do find the product right after they open there’s only a couple on the shelf. Meat department needs improvement.
They can’t even answer why the product isn’t out.

Better prices than the other store, but less selection and sometimes things aren't in stock.

Prices are still ok but no where near as good as they used to be. Even inflation cannot explain some items doubling in price.

Recent visit. No baskets at entrance. No bags of any type at the self check outs. Pretty poor customer care

I was in the store yesterday and today looking for Cheese Cures, and I asked about 5 or 6 different customer service reps, and still they didn't have any in the store.

Prices are awesome but most of their produce and meat is awful quality. For meat I go to our local deli instead and the rest of my food comes from food land but I tried it once here and never again! Customer service is very poor and I had a cashier yell at me while using self checkout because I used the wrong size cart good grief! Then everyone thinks it’s ok to just shove people around in front of staff or not maintain distance even at cash and staff won’t say anything and staff definitely do not wipe debit machines or self checkouts between service or even offer sanitizer!

I was verbally attached and my shopping cart pushed by one of the cashiers. I was shocked by this behaviour towards a First Nations elder.

The first 2 times I shopped here I had the worst cashiers ever. The last time I went here my cashier was excellent.

Always good service! Just missing stock often. Like today there was not one loaf of white bread and often when I go there is no chicken breast explain white hot dog buns.

Nice big, bright, clean store. Usually has lots of stock including sale items. Can be very busy at times.

Today I experienced seeing multiple people in the store without masks, including children over the age of 2. When I asked one person to follow the rules (a man in his 20s or 30s) he decided to take his mask off and be extremely rude and put the cashier and all the customers at risk! I was advised that police will not help in these situations and people don't have to wear masks. As a pregnant nurse who is not able to get vaccinated yet because public health does not make exceptions in Algoma for high risk young people. This is abhorrent to me. I implore the young people to grow up and do your part to protect each other!

I have shopped at Elliot Lake's No Frills since they arrived in town years ago, mostly for prices. Last year moved an hour away and still come back to my No Frills. They have upped tbeir game in response to Covid 19. Store is well organized, shelves filled, clean and staffed by the same friendly efficient crew. Kudos to Lyle's No Frills! In this crazy pandemic world, you rock!

I got there today and the line up was all along the freezers, all the way to the back if the store and keep going. I had nevertheless seen a line up that long because there were only 2 cashiers on cash and a few of the self-services open on a Saturday. We were in line for over 40 minutes! By the time it was our turn there were 5 cashiers. But the shelves were well stocked and they have alot of Free From products in both meat and produce. They are getting better with having more Organic items too.

It is a big store bigger than the store I shop at so clean it has a drugstore in it O by the it's in Elliott lake any one whant to go for a ride

Store is generally under stocked. I've gone in for specific items which eight times out of ten are sold out. Store has gone down hill since new owner.
I've been in and seen wilted lettuce and soft peppers. Meat section at times has had rotten meat or none at all.

Discriminating. Violent workers. Recieved death threats over a review for calling out a worker who was nasty to my husband. Owner made up lies to get people on his side, but he was smart about it. Only insinuating my husband wrote nasty messages to him but not saying directly it was him. Workers have made fun of trans gender people while in the store working. Fruits and veggies are usually always rotten. If you complain about the workers, Lyle will seek you out even if you have your children with you to start yelling at you. He is a nasty nasty man who shouldn't be running a store. The old owners were so much better. They were the heart of the community. Always on the floor joking with customers, friendly with everyone. This place went down hill.
