Mac Animal Clinic

I can’t rave enough about our experience with Dr. Mac and her team! I have a rescue dog who has pretty severe stranger reactivity/fear, making vet visits very challenging. Dr. Mac and the team have gone above and beyond to make our visits calm, relaxed and positive. They always take their time and never push Pearl too far and always have the goal of making her feel as safe and comfortable as possible at the forefront of their minds. This includes things like calming medication, strategically scheduling our appointments, and allowing me to do as much handling as possible during exams to keep Pearl calm. My work schedule can be hectic, making me a bit hard to get a hold of, and they always ensure I’ve received all the communication and information I need for our appointments either via phone or email. I have recommended Dr. Mac to all of my friends and will continue to recommend her for years to come! We travel from Hamilton to Oakville to see Dr. Mac and her team, as it’s incredibly challenging to find someone with the same quality of care and compassion for their furry clients and their humans.

We cannot say enough good things about the team at MAC. These people genuinely care and have made exceptional efforts to put our super anxious boy at ease and work with us on our concerns. From having a dog that would shake and hide under my chair at our original vet’s office to one that confidently walks in and greets the team, even taking treats from their hands with no pressure has given us such peace of mind. We still have far to go but knowing Dexter is comfortable there and loves Jennifer, Natalie and Dr. Mac makes a world of difference. This team absolutely lives fear-free, ensuring no other dog visitors are present during our appointments and inviting us in for happy dog visits to familiarize our guy to their office. We couldn’t recommend this team more - they are amazing!

My Rottweiler had a stage 2 tumour removed at Mac animal clinic and the work and care for my animal was outstanding, they have also went above and beyond to make my dog feel comfortable and at home at every vet appointment since, highly recommend their services.

After my having been disappointed by five different vets over five years, this clinic is the only one fulfilling my criteria - responsibility, honesty, thoughtfulness, genuine care, one-vet operation, friendly and attentive staff, etc. Dr. Mac and her staff are real professional, and I feel I have finally found a vet clinic I can entrust my furry kids, a GSD and a Himalayan cat.

Dr. Mac is absolutely incredible and trustworthy. She goes above and beyond to explain, provide options and is very easy to speak with. Dr. Mac goes out of her way to make herself available for questions and concerns even out of office hours and personally responds to emails. I highly recommended Mac Animal Clinic. We are so happy for our dog Bruce to be cared for by the team at Mac.

I can't recommend MAC Animal Clinic enough! My puppy Leo absolutely LOVES it there and gets so excited anytime we say we are going to see Dr. Mac. Sometimes he tries to go back into the office after his appointments and I have to use treats to get him back into the car. It was so important to me to find a vet clinic I trusted, especially with Leo being my first puppy and not being able to go into the office with him due to COVID. I truly feel like everyone there treats him as if he is their own dog.

Leo is a Lab and sometimes eats things he shouldn't -every time I've called they have been able to give me advice over the phone and ease my worries. We never feel as though we are being charged for anything that isn't necessary (like some offices). If you are looking for a Vet, I highly recommend!

The MAC Animal clinic has been amazing to us and our puppy Sonny! Sonny was extremely sick when we get him from the breeder and MAC has been beyond attentive to his condition and have helped him become a new puppy. We are so grateful for their attention to detail and always going above and beyond for Sonny. Could not recommend a better group of pet obsessed individuals!

I'd highly recommend MAC Animal Clinic to anyone looking for exceptional veterinary care. The whole team is professional, friendly and truly treats your pets as if they are their own. Dr Mac is very honest yet compassionate and always takes the time to discuss your questions and concerns. Her team is also fear free certified which is a great comfort to owners who have very nervous and anxious pups like myself as her team really take the time to make the visits as positive as possible to minimize stress.

We have always been impressed with the follow up calls, quick reaction times and friendliness of everyone at Mac. Highly recommend!

My cats (Jasper and Wild; 5 years old) have always had severe anxiety when it comes to vet visits and car rides. November 2020 was our first time going to Mac Animal Clinic and I could not be more happy with how our first visit went! Jasper and Wild were stressed the entire ride to the vet but thanks to being separated from dogs and other animals, along with being in a room sprayed with catnip and calming pheromones, I can honestly say that I have never seen my cats this calm outside of our home! The entire car ride home my babies were calm and happy. It’s as if their anxiety over vet visits and car rides has completely disappeared! I cannot thank Dr. Mac and her team enough for taking such good care of my boys. I am so grateful and have complete trust in this incredible team!

Dr. Mac is amazing! She is by far the most wonderful veterinarian I've had the pleasure of bringing my pet to.

When you walk in to the clinic, there are diffusers with canine and feline specific pheromones to relax the animals and help to make is a fear-free experience. Upon entering the examination room, the area is set up for your pet to pick either the table or a bed on the floor to have the examination on.

I brought my dog to see Dr. Mac as she had been having skin issues - specifically her ears would continually swell up, she was having eye infections, and she was itching. When other vets had prescribed just steroids and a round of antibiotics, Dr. Mac went above and beyond to figure out what was wrong with her - even consulting other vets about her skin issues. She followed up by phone and email to check in and see how treatments were going and was extremely involved in her care.

The whole team at Mac Animal Clinic is extraordinary and TRULY care about the animals. The amount of patience and love extended by staff is unparalleled by any experience I've had at other clinics. Even their involvement with local rescues shows just how much the animals are at the center of their focus when it comes to care.

I would recommend anyone bring their animal to this clinic for care.

I have two dogs, one is getting older, so switching vets was a bit stressful. My previous location wasn’t working for me anymore so on a recommendation I called Mac Vets. I could tell a difference right away with just a phone call. It wasn’t rushed, they asked me all the right questions and they weren’t condescending if I didn’t have the answers. They booked me for both dogs within a few days and even with Covid protocol they still made the experience more personal and compassionate. Dr Mac called me within minutes of my dogs going in and (I can’t stress this enough) did not rush through the exam or the phone call. She was thorough, articulate, friendly, and professional. The rest of the staff is helpful and welcoming. It’s seems like this would be a expected but it was very refreshing. I look forward to the restrictions lifting and being able to visit inside. A big thanks to them for making my pups transition to a new clinic go very smoothly.

My Netherland Dwarf bunny, Norman, was neutered yesterday and I am extremely happy and relieved to say he is doing well just after one night!

Dr. Mac and her team were more than thorough and very empathetic to my needs as a "mom" to a small creature who potentially has higher risks during this type of surgery.

I knew I was in good hands when I dropped Norman off in the morning, and when Dr Mac called me a couple hours after to let me know everything had gone well. She even took pictures and videos of Norman when he woke up from the surgery while she fed him the treats that I had prepared for him.

It's very obvious that Dr. Mac loves what she does and it really rubs off on everyone who walks in that door. Needless to say, I highly recommend anyone who has any pet, but especially rabbits, to come see Dr. Mac. A little goes a long way, something that is not easy to find these days.

Friendly staff. Excellent Covid procedures. Dr. Mac is an animal parent and she talks to you like one. I feel like my dog is in good hands with everyone involved. I feel safe as a client as well.

I honestly wouldn't trust my pets with any other vet after coming here. Their team have helped us with 5 of our animals over the years, two of which lived long 17 year lives. They helped us through their passing and made the experience as comfortable as possible. They are incredibly responsive to our concerns and know our pets so well! Myself, our family, and our animal family members would definitely recommend!

Wonderful staff. Wonderful care for a very senior animal. Dr. Mac and staff really seem to understand my animal and my concerns and worries. They listen and follow up afterwards. Oh Gosh where do I start.
The ladies here saved my baby’s life and essentially mine because I am sure I am not the only one that loves theirs pet ferociously and when you see your pet going downhill fast nothing else matter. This is the ONLY vet I would call!

My dog is usually quite nervous when at the vet and it can sometimes be challenging to treat/assess him. Dr. Mac was able to keep him calm and comfortable enough to give him a needle (something that has been difficult in the past).

She was very compassionate and understood my concerns. She listened to me, explained all my options clearly and made sure to follow up promptly with my pet’s test results.

Dr. Mac, Jennifer, Sarah and Mac Team are wonderful! Rosie, our dog, was out of her prescription meds and Mac Vets picked them up for us on an urgent basis from another clinic. So grateful. Their Fear Free Clinic has changed Rosie’s entire vet experience. Their online store makes ordering from home easy and convenient. Very happy we found Mac Animal Clinic.

Everyone at Mac is so nice and great with animals. You can tell they love each patient and are so good at making adjustments for scared or shy animals. They’re the best!

We met Dr. Mac when she became the primary care provider for our dog Ruie nearly 4 years ago. Ruie absolutely adored her, Jenn and Nat, (who we have also known for many years) as does our family. We are so thankful for all the effort and love that Dr. Mac and her team put into Ruie’s care. We wouldn’t have gotten through the last tough year of her life without this entire team of wonderful people. What you want in a veterinarian team (after of course expertise) is people who genuinely love their job, animals and treat each of their patients as if they were their own and I can confidently say Dr. Mac and her team have all of the above in spades. Above all that they became like family to us and I wanted to just write this to show my immense appreciation to them. Thank you so much.

We love Mac Animal clinic so much that we will drive from downtown Toronto to Oakville just to come here. Our dog is obsessed with the staff and is always excited to go in even after having dental surgery here. The team have been incredibly helpful especially during COVID with our first rescue and lots of questions. 100% trust in Dr. Mac and her team.
