My husband has been getting the Jamaican beef patties since he was a kid, they are still like he remembered them and for having them for the first time myself they did not disappoint. Definitely another buy when we find ourselves in the area!
They have my absolute favourite food item in existence. Anytime I’m in Brampton I’ll come here to get a Mackay Pattie! Sometimes I’ll make a detour just to grab a pack of 10. Not sure what it is about the Pattie’s but they’re the best. If anyone from the store is reading this, you guys are my favourite restaurant of all time. Please never get rid of the Pattie’s… thank you lol.
Ordered the Sicilian, which I understand is twice baked? Whether it is, was, or wasn't.the bottom and side crust were overdone. A "burnt" crust, in both colour and texture, made what could have been an excellent pizza, not really that good. This location will soon be out of business if they don't learn that every pizza has to leave the oven cooked to perfection. I don't think I will return. There are other pizza shops that make quality pizza that is properly cooked every time.not sometimes.
Best NY style pizza around. Maybe not as greasy as a real NY Slice though. McKay Pattie’s are a must. Been going here and the main location for 25+ years
This place never seems to disappoint second time back for their large pizza it’s literally 20 pounds taste is authentic I would say best pizza in Brampton…
There is a new cook and new workers in the place. I didn’t recognize any of them. The pizza is not how it used to be. The pizza had too much dough compared to before. It felt like just another spot. Take these new hires out please.
This place used to be a lot better in the past. The mozzarella cheese was like chewing gum. Pretty gross. They need to go back to how they used to make it.
Great Pizza at a great price! …. This will definitely be my new Pizza place, this is not a cookie cutter franchise place like a few other places…. They offer much more than pizza too. Give them a try! …. You won’t be disappointed
The pizza was huge and so cheesy and delicious. The Sicilian was great if you can wait for it or order ahead of time. Definitely greasier than normal pizza, but worth it!
Not very pleased. Very disappointing pricey pizza. Tried their house special 16 inch and a 12 inch pan. Both very greasy and not a whole lot of flavour. Gave 2 stars instead of 1 because they were of decent size and quantity of toppings. Will not be a return customer.
Amazing Pies and Stuffed Patties and Subs. Customer service is hit or miss. But good food none the less. They need to take debit or visa for deliveries tho.
The most awful pizza I ever had, This pizza place is close to my house and I thought instead of going far I should just go here, turns out that was a big mistake, it was uncooked pizza and cheese was like a chewing gum, who knows was old was it. I would never suggest anyone to go here, also you have to pay for toppings additional to what size you choose and it also doesn't cone with dipping sauce that too much of additional cost,
I have been coming to this location for many years, I love the food and the people! I have medical conditions that unable me to wear a mask, and have an exemption under the mask bylaw and have NEVER had any issues here until today. I was told that I was not welcome in the store, and that my exemption is no longer recognized. I was asked to wait outside in the cold and then my order was brought out to me. I am broken hearted, I thanked the gentleman for serving me and politely said thank you. I served this country to protect the rights and freedoms of all Canadians, I have to say that I find it very disheartening to see that these freedoms are being used by my own countrymen to discriminate, and trounce all over others rights and freedoms in the name of fear. The mandatory mask bylaw provides exemption for people that are unable to wear a mask, so I see no reason for today to be the day to decide to tell me I am unwelcome now. I would like to say thank you for all of the years of great service, and many memories. I have tried to continue to support you as a local business as you are an important part of my community, I am deeply saddened that you do not hold me and my family in the same regard. I wish you all the best in the future, but I cannot patronize somewhere that tells me that I am unwelcome.
Don't even LISTEN to the people who comment on the look of the spot. Do you care? Once you taste the first bite of Mackay's pizza you will instantly be transported to heaven. I am a vegetarian (now) so the cheese slice is a winner winner not-chicken dinner for me personally. Pre-veggie life I did enjoy their classic pepperoni. Don't fix it if it ain't broke you know what I mean? Eat the pizza, thank me later.
Stuffed patties are BOOMING! I’m so picky with pizza and I enhaled my slice so fast I wanted another one BEST PIZZA drove 20 min and into another city for this
I am not a Brampton native but what this place does with a beef patty is delicious. On top of that it is my favourite pizza in the city. I recommend the thin crust, enjoy!
Brampton institution famous for pizza slices and stuffed Jamaican patties. Haven't tried the patties yet, but enjoyed pizza slices and whole pizzas. Prices are fair.
Most pizza in GTA period. Literally I don’t understand why but they make the best pizza. Sauce is perfection the cheese is perfection. I never eat pizza crust but I eat their pizza crust. Not to mention they also have amazing patties with all lettuce mayo and cheese. Even though this place looks a little ghetto it’s literally the best pizza you’ll ever have.
There is no better pizza place. You cannot beat the superior value that Mackay offers. Bigger pizzas, more topping on your pizza than any competitor. Best beef patties. Best Subs. I am Italian. I should know. If you like cheese.get double cheese.
I don't like to be extensively critical, but my last visit took the cake. Their patties and subs are phenomenal, you can't go wrong with them. Their pizza, however, unless properly cooked and rested, is horrendous.
The pizza is greasy enough that your box is caving in. The cheese was usual, leaking the orange liquid everywhere (presumably because there was way too much high moisture mozzarella slammed on the pizza), the dough wasn't even cooked enough to have the crust be hard at all, and the first slice I picked up had the ENTIRE collection of toppings slide right off.
Even after letting the pizza rest, it was still a greasy, slippery mess. I understand pizza doesn't make or break a restaurant, but pizza is in the name and every single time I get the pizza it is a grease machine that terrorizes my stomach.
The best pizza I have found after 7 years of living here. It is almost as good as the pizza we use to get in Cape Breton Island. Nova Scotia. I would definitely recommend there Pizza’s never had there subs yet but when I do try I’ll let you all know
Been eating here for many years but today was my last! Worst sub.less then half the amount of meat it used to come with and they raised the prices! Disgusting!
Quality and taste is much better than other chain pizza joints in Brampton. The crust and sauce make the pizza, and you can't go wrong with any of their toppings.
If you get a slice to go the slices are huge. When you order for pick up they're pretty quick and we've never been disappointed.
Very nice crust and always crispy but not burnt and I don’t need to say well done. I get light on sauce. Seems to be beat pizza I found since I came to the area
Found out about Mackay's from a friend years ago and have been going there ever since. I normally get 2 two single slices - they are huge, so be prepared to eat! Out of all the pizza restaurants I have been to, Mackay's has the most consistent quality and their pizza is always delicious. Service is always quick, but the locations are usually bustling with people, especially if there's a huge event on TV (ex: Superbowl, NBA Championship). They also have a good selection of hot and cold sub sandwiches (but they don't toast the subs). I usually get a veggie sub loaded with lots of toppings. Another popular item are their patties - lots of options! You definitely need to try this place!
Ahhhh Gus. Brampton's pizzeria legend.nothing like a Mackay patty and slice to bring back childhood memories.best assorted sub I have ever had as well, just sayin'
Nothing beats a slice and a Patty from Mackays pizza. Anytime I find myself in Brampton, I make my way over and have a bite to eat here! Even if it's just to grab a Patty!
First ever visit to this one of the oldest pizza shops in Brampton and had high expectations. Service was good, pizza size is bigger than average, toppings are geneeous. Chicken topping tasted stale and fishy (dark meat?). Crust was veey dry and chewy. Didn't enjoy and may not go back.
First time. Like the beef patties. Really wish they added a bun to it thought. Meatball sub was not bad. Bought a pepperoni pizza for the way home. Was really good. Would go back 5o try other subs and pizzas.
I feel like the OG Mackay on Mackay/North Park is better. But that probably has to do with nostalgia. You don't know Brampton if you haven't been to Mackay.
