Fun spot to play pool. Fair price. Fee taps beers. Califlower bites were good but portion is small.

I liked this place.

I'm sure this place would be fun to go to with friends.

There were a lot of TV's here showing the game. The place felt like a sports bar even though it's basically a pool hall.

Service was okay. The only annoying thing is that I had to go to the server each time to get noticed or get served. Servers were mentally checked out from their duties, imo

We were there last night and I am so impressed with the quality of the food, the service and the whole patio experience.
We all had the chicken Parmesan dinner. Can’t believe how much food served for the low price!

Fresh, warm bread, excellent Caesar salad with real shaved Parmesan, capers and amazing croutons even! Perfectly cooked pasta with meat sauce and chicken and to top it off a chocolate molten lava cake! All for $19!

The Elgin street patio is spacious, lively and great for watching the world go by.

And our server, Olivia was friendly and so attentive. Highly recommend this place!
We will be back!

Having poutine and orange juice here as I write this review. The poutine is absolutely the worst I've ever had. The juice which was meant to be fresh is very tropicana.

We went to MacLaren's for the first time this weekend for dinner. Only the patio was open due to restrictions. I cannot speak to the "normal" experience due to the current circumstances, but we had an amazing dinner. I ordered the pork chop. Appetizers and a dessert was included with this meal, and for a great price too. Not only was the quantity of food more than enough, the quality was amazing - everything was delicious. To top it off, our server Lane was the definition of a perfect server. We will definitely be coming back when in town again. 10/10 experience.

Went there this evening and loved the service. The quality and quantity of food was good as well:) loved the nachos and the chicken fingers, but the poutine could've been better. Nevertheless, will be going back:) special shout out to Olivia for her friendly service:)

MacLaren's sports bar and pool hall is located on MacLaren's and Elgin st. It is great place to meet friends and watch the game on their muliti TV screens and also play some pool. There is a great selection of draft beer, friendly atmosphere and prices are fair. The food selection is pub style and service is timely. I like going to MacLaren's on the weekend to have a few drinks and some food before and after going to yuk yuks comedy club that is across the street on Elgin st.

Right now covid restrictions have closed the bar and I hope things get better and back to normal soon. So check MacLaren's website for their return to service hours.

Taking advantage of the COVID situation the manager took time to send me home because he didn’t liked my face, he stated that they’re not allowed to let more than 50 people inside of the bar.however there was roughly 30-40 customers there. I’m filling a complaint to the city that’s it.

Exactly as we expected but was pleasantly surprised that we could eat and have a drink Durning these Covid 19 times. Would have loved to play pool also but unfortunately all tables were book I guess there were another people as smart as us that had the same idea. Our waiter was very courteous and helpful on helping us decide. I am sure if you just want to hang out and play pool or watch sports in an old fashion sort of Irish pub way this place will work out perfectly!

This place is a fun spot to go with friends for a game of pool. Full sized tables and fairly clean. However, when I went the bartenders and servers were not the best about enforcing the mask policy and I did not see anyone wipe down common areas. Food is well priced, and tastes great, but I would wait until Covid is over if you are extremely scared. But as long as you are regularly sanitizing and you yourself are careful, it will be fine! Overall a good place to go.

Food is pretty good for the price and good portions. A lot of tables, the max we waited on a Saturday night was like 30 min while we were finishing our meals. Service can be incredible and awful. Depends on the waiter you get. Some are super nice and some not lol. Be there it's a cool place to chill. I like it!

It's a good place well placed in downtown and one of the best sport bar in town. However when they are playing the sport they don't put sounds of the game that's a big missing for sport lovers who paid to come there only to watch the games. Other than that they have amazing staff and i feel unfair to give them 3stars but hope this will force them to adjust that matter.

Killer spot for sports games &/or to shoot pool. Older crowd. Classy vibe. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night, expect a waitlist for a pool table.

Awesome place to hang with friends and play some pool. The pub grub is above average and the entire place is very clean. We had wings, nachos, fries, and a few pints of Guiness. All good.

Love it here. Such a good environment for a game of pool, or for a sporting event. Staff is helpful and super chill. Would recommend 10/10.

Was Okay.not the best service.i went with my boyfriend.he has accent.so do i.he asked a question.which was how many percent this wine.he replyed like you know every wine.i was like wow.mybe its not a good day for that server.but our day i great:) lets keep it great even if everything is wrong ;) xoxox

Pipes is stuck up. Won't even allow us to play pool on a free table at St-Patick's Day. You should be ashamed to be called a "Irish Pub"

Was super busy when I went, we were lucky to find a table. I asked the waiter for drink menus, and he got them, and then never came back to get us drinks, so I had to go up to the bar to get them (after waiting a while for the bartenders, who were busy doing other stuff). It's alright but there are definitely better bars in my opinion.

Lovely place for a bite to eat, a cold beer, and a good game of pool.
This location is located in a nice section of Downtown Ottawa. They serve very tasty food, cold delicious beer, and superb customer service.

It can get a little crowded some nights, but it surly adds to the atmosphere. One of the downsides are the TVs. I personally do not understand the need for so many tvs side by side playing the same things.

My fave pool hall. We had an impromptu party with no reservation but they treated us as if we rented out the whole place.

Apps weren't great. Generally a nice place. Lots of pool tables and good selection of beer on tap. Place was busy considering it was a Monday. Lots of big screens to catch sporting events.

Very busy pretty much all the time. People usually go here to play pool. Prices have room for improvement. Pool table is a bit expensive compared to other places. Finding a waiter to order can take a lifetime.

Fun place to shoot pool or just hang out. There is generally a young crowed here - mostly university types is my impression. They have a lot of big screens in the bar - you're never in a position where you can't see the big game on a TV.

Fantastic for pool. Nachos are advertised as spicy but this isnt the case.

It tasted good all the same. My girlfriend wasnt crazy about the sausage topped on it, but she's not into pork, so I get it.

Wish i could have given a half star. Went for a few drinks this evening and wait 10 minutes for service. On one came to the table as the all were huddled in one corner chatting with each other. We walked out and still no one noticed.

I really liked it there it is just right. It is a good spot I went there with more than one first dates and everything went smooth.

Fantastic food at a good price and more than enough pool tables for a busy night. Definitely a good place to go for a nice date or hanging out with friends. 19+ after 9pm.

Decent well felted. Good selection of beer. They need to invest in some composite cues. EVERY single cue is warped. Pool is over priced no deals or membership.

Went here with a big group for a Christmas work party. The place always has such a nice vibe to it where you can actually talk to the people you are hanging out with! There's plenty of pool tables and tones of tables with great food / drink list for sure check this place out, always a blast!

Ever rude staff. I went here with my boyfriend during the holidays as we had a random late night urge to play pool. We show up at 1245, there’s three guys behind the bar none of them serve us for like 10 minutes so I finally ask for help (it was not busy). The bartender finally tells me they aren’t giving out any more tables because they stop doing that at 1, but it’s not even 1, so I think they were trying to make us wait until after 1 lol. It was really lame.

Great atmosphere, billiard tables are usually well maintained. Lots of big screens, staff accomodate viewing requests. Good food.

Good food and large amount of tables! Most of the staff are friendly and the place is well kept. One of the only issue is that finding parking nearby can be difficult.
