Went recently with a couple of friends and had Sydney as my server, she was very friendly professional and organized will definitely be coming back a very good experience

Came with some friends on Christmas Day for the Turkey Dinner in the afternoon around 1pm.

Only to be told, unfortunately, no food was being served as cooks weren't available.

Had to go somewhere else for Turkey, very disappointing and inconvenient to say the least.

Excellent just as it has always been. Great food and drinks. Was early afternoon so wasn't busy but would go anytime aside is just fantastic

Always a different experience in terms of capacity when you visit but it is usually an enjoyable time. Definitely one of the best nightlife experiences in the city!

This place is AMAZING! You will get age shamed if you come on a weekend and you're over 23: (thats what you get I guess for going to a student club. It's perfect for so many different people as there are so many options (piano bar, patios, dance floor, etc.). The highlights were definitely the piano bar and the dance floor. The piano bar is so unique and the guy playing is so talented and comes out with the bangers! Defiantly a more mature crowd here, but that's what makes it special.
There is no cover charge on typical weekends, this might be different if theres an event. The only complaint it that it's getting colder and theres no coat check! Big turn off in my opinion because once you get dancing it gets hot and a jacket is the last thing I want to worry about.
The prices of drinks are fair, for 2 double vodka OJs it was around 23$, can't comment on the food.
Overall, every person I've taken here has always been impressed and would come back.

Not a place to go on Sunday. Dull atmosphere, boring 1 server for the entire floor who takes forever to come

Dirty, smelly, disgusting bathrooms, slow service. It urgently needs an upgrade. It is been looking the same for the last 10 years.

It's freakin' huge, but the food is good and there's a large patio. Come on a Sunday if you want a quiet time.

They piano woman they had was amazing, and drinks were very cheap

Young crowd as it's a student bar, but it was very fun

Nostalgia. I missed the old time here. Nice unique environment. Lots lots of drink and ladies, good vibes, events, nice music.

I’ve been here over a hand full of time, and almost every time I eat here I either get sick right after or I don’t feel well all night. Everything is seasoned the same and is SO greasy. I had a chicken quesadilla today and literally the whole bottom of the plate was greasy, I couldn’t even eat two bites.
The only good thing about this place is that on special occasions or holidays it’s a good vibe. Other then that it’s a hard NO. The food is not the same anymore, not sure if they changed cooks or Added some new seasonings but it’s to much and it’s in literally every dish.there are so many other places in Toronto that are cheaper and don’t focus me to make my self sick to feel better.

Visit by 9.30ish and wait for people to fill in the place so you can experience the changing vibe.

This place has disappointed me lately.
Last time while the roof patio was open the staff forced us to go in because she was not willing to come out and take orders

Large sized students pub. It is made up of 3 former residential houses connected by pathways. Great place to grab a beer, especially in the summer months on the patio. Chess tournament on Wednesdays. There is also Darts and Pool.
Expect extended waiting times most of the time as the place is typically understaffed regardless of how buys it gets. Might be faster to get your drinks at the bar.

Also, due to lack of staff no real check of vaccine proofs, at least when I was there.

In terms of food and drinks, the prices are fair and the French fries are pretty good.

Was good to get back to the Madison, good service and brews on tap, the atmosphere is lively and decent tunes.

0 stars. Security are absolutely horrendous. No customer service. Do you not come here if you want to have a fun night with friends.

Only about half capacity for now but it is fun place with about 6 bars throughout the Building gearing generally to university socially interactive crowd - look forward when it opens without current Covid limits

Went with a group of friends and sat at the rooftop patio. Lovely patio and the food is great. Had a couple of shooters as well as the sour key. Service was amazing as soon as we got there we were noticed and checked in on a lot.

The atmosphere is nice and people are mostly young, making customer to feel happy and cheerful. Staff is also nice, joyful and they are moving fast! We are repeated customers, as this place is suitable to receive you with your family, friends or colleagues!

Nice rooftop patio and delightful ambience. However, the waitresses were sloppy and took almost 20 minutes to bring my tequila shot. Pub fries gave me heartburn (for the first time ever).

This place is a hole and dumps for university students that don't know better or have better standards, but when I use to go there many moons ago, remembered it better and with better management and wait staff. Rude and uptight.

First time here and had an amazing experience all thanks to my server, Melika! We had a fairly large party and she treated us like we were the only table she had even tho I could see her still working other tables which isnt easy since I've also worked this industry for many year

Overcharged us by more than $70. The waitress didn’t give us the bill and when we tried to tell them that we were overcharged they told us that it “sucks to suck” and since there is no proof they can’t do anything. When I tried to explain the situation and show them how much we paid in total they were gaslighting me and being extremely rude to me and my friend. HORRIBLE customer service.

Note: we also did ask to see the manager, it was a young guy with tattoos and light hair, he gaslighted us and told us that there is no way they could have made a mistake and when we asked for them to check the system for how much they charged us- he said that once you get charged it gets deleted from the system. He than said that he has “better things to do” and left us.

There was a really long line when we went and we had to wait. There was a bunch of unruly guests that they had that was probably the reason why. We didn't mind the wait but after they let us in we had to wait again for maybe 10 mins and then they told us they stopped taking orders. I just wish they told us straight up that it was last call and we can't really order anything anymore before letting us in. We wasted our time waiting.

Great place to hang out for drinks with friends. This place is a landmark in Toronto. It's a definite place to put on your destination when you're in Toronto.

Had absolutely no problem with food, drinks and servers. Great people and I'd give them a 5, except for one huge issue. This place was actually trying to make me to wear a mask outside on the patio. I know we have mandates in Ontario to wear a mask anywhere indoors. I was never told to wear a mask on a patio or any other event that is outside. So basically, if an establishment requires you to wear a mask on the patio, it is their own personal policy, which has nothing to do with laws. Funny enough, it was only one hostess who hassled me about the mask thing. I walked by her and was seated by another person with no problem. We also had friends sitting on another floor and all us were walking up and down the stairs to see each other and noone said a word to us. I didn't have to go through the inside to get to my seat, so no mask is needed, yet this woman at the door kept yelling that I should wear a mask. Not sure if she is just crazy and on a power trip, as noone else in this establishment actually cared. Then this person needs to be talked to, that she should stop pushing her opinions on everyone else. If it is actually the company policy, shame on you. I have a business myself that I pretty much lost and have to build from scratch now because of this flu, and you guys have suffered enough as well. Finally the daddy government allowed you to open, and instead of being nice and inclusive, you are just making up your own rules to ruin the enjoyment of paying customers.

A long-time midtown location with a huge patio upstairs and at street level so lots of room and choices of where to plunk yourself down for a casual evening! Convenient, close to public transit and a large pay parking lot on Spadina at Bloor.
A labyrinth of different levels, nooks and crannies to have a quiet get-together for after work/school drinks and great food but can also be quite lively later on in the evening. Very friendly and accommodating staff-make you feel like you can definitely make it your regular local.
Menu is main stay pub food but taken up a notch with various creative tweeks to favourites and beer is cold-even when ordered by the pitcher!
Only suggestion is that the honey drenched wings (and other dishes) really attract the hornets and yellow jackets especially on a warm evening so maybe wasp traps strategically hung can divert them away from invading the dishes!
Will definitely be a place to head to for the patio areas even in cooler weather -well sheltered and comfy atmosphere to stretch out the summer and fall weather to come.

Excellent place to meet up with friends. Huge patio very clean and the bar food is great. The tortillas are awesome. Went there with a very good friend and they were very accommodating, offering to turn the music down if it was too loud. It's off and out of the way. I've lived in Toronto for 40plus yrs and I didn't know it existed but very happy I know about it now!

A great pub with excellent service. Drinks and foods are well priced, the waitress was super nice. Had really good time with friends

I'm only given them one star cause they lie about a soccer game they suppose to play on the TV, we spend lots of time and money and they didn't play it.

This is one of Toronto most comfortable bar to hang out at. Coming from a small town Toronto can feel a little overwhelming. This bar and all the friendly guest really do make it feel inviting. Absolutely can't wait to listen to the piano players or sit on the roof top patio again soon.

First time out since covid! Great patios, (it was nice to sit on a patio without having to sit on the street!) Lots of covid precautions, good food and great service, we will be back!

Tried to sit us in the worst possible areas because we brought a service dog.we showed the credentials because they didn't believe it was a service dog then gave us the option of sitting in the worst areas of the restaurant. Felt pretty discriminating as we've been there with her on two separate occasions, once inside and one in the main patio

I wanted a quiet area, and I found it at the top patio. Very nice, respectful environment for sure. Food was definitely decilious too and worth trying again.

Drinks were fine, not the best and pricey for the taste, so I'm deducting one star for drinks.

Poor management, we booked 3 tables to watch the football game and some of us couldn't join because we were 10 minutes late! They gave our spots to others and they gave us a spot outside under the rain with no tv! What a joke!

When here for the England games during the summer and the service was perfect. They would let me put a playlist on before the match to get all the lads hyped up, throughout the game their servers were on top always checking in.

We will definitely be back. Steve, Milan and all the girls were great. Thanks again.

I usuallu do not post any review but I have to say this place deserves it. I went over there with my sister last night and the atmosphere over there was so amazing and the people working over there surely knows how to host a party. But above all, the food was literally the game changer over there especially Butter Chicken. Hands down to the chef. Will surely come back again!

I love this place, the waitstaff are friendly, the venue is classic, the drinks pre-covid are various and fairly priced. It's the place to be. I feel like I've already rated the Maddy but I'll recommend it again, go to this place.

Awesome place, maybe the music is not the best but at least all the people look happy and enjoying the dancefloor. The food is also nice but the best feature is the building itself. I really loved it and I highly recommended it!

Jam packed and lively. Bouncers were very rude and seemed to be on a power trip. The place is kind of a maze but it has something for everyone. There's good live music and the atmosphere is really nice

Super cool and unique spot, a little confusing with the self seating (and kinda awkward spots to sit) but an awesome environment. Service was slow but super friendly and the food was super good, and filling!

Drinks are cheap and not very good. Food is cheap and also not very good. It's a popular undergraduate student bar. It's huge with several levels and a big roof top patio in the summer. They have pool tables and sometimes sports games on.

This place has great music. There's a few different floors that suit every niche and interest group and it is very student oriented

You should try the Voodoo Chicken Fingers! So Good! The place is great, and there is Green P parking next to it. The servant is a luck thing. Sometime you get nice and friendly one, sometimes they are not in the mood to talk to you.

I loved the ambience. Cool, quiet place before the hours get cracking. They have a dance floor that opens at 10: 30p.m. Pool table, Darts area. It's a cool Victorian setting like building having two houses combined or more. You can book holiday parties here. Beer on tap and other hard liquor as well as daily specials + decent menu. Piano bar and live music on 3 days per week, I think it was Thursdays and Saturday's. Good staff.

Student friendly pub, which while enormous, has a quirky layout that allows you to find quieter rooms if you go with a friend to chat, or large spaces for groups. Plus, the daily specials are fantastic and definitely keep you wanting to go back!

For all moods. You can find variety of disco, club, pub, sports bar, all in there.
Non of them are not great, but are good

Been here twice and the pub is good. Always full of people and the music is great. The food was good the first time but next time I ordered a Calamari dish and half was Calamari and Half they served me curly fries which was not appreciated for the money I paid. But none the less, good for party!

Decent drinks, if not a bit conservative on the alcohol content. Okay atmosphere, if not a bit loud at 12am.

I wish there was an option for 0 stars. Staff was so unprofessional and management supported it. Really hope this changes I used to love the Maddy. Even though someone from there replies to these reviews, staff and management still doesn't change, its ridiculous! To the people thinking of wasting their time there, just save your money and go somewhere else.

Used to come here all the time when I lived near by, never had a bad experience. Service was sometimes slow but the place was packed so it is to be expected. I was reading the reviews and am disappointed that wait staff is adding tips without notifying the patrons, that is really not cool in my books. A tip is for exceptional service and should be left to the client to decide what that is worth. Also I usually pay with a credit card and leave a cash tip so while I do not come here often anymore when I do I will have to be on the look out.

Good specials. Our servers were so awful. We moved sections because our 1st serve was rude. And the 2ed section was just as bad. And even complained to our faces that she had to serve us. We get some people can be jerks, but we were always nice and thankful. Just wish 2 different servers in one night didn't make is feel bad for them having to serve us.

Have been many times and while always grimy, seems to be sliding further. Today (Oct. 23rd) there was a large drip from a window that had no attempt to be rectified, birds were flying around inside and eating floor french fries, they were even more understaffed than usual and we had to order all food and drink at the bar, the pool table was ripped and scratched to hell, and there was a stale beer/pee smell. Also they discontinued fried pickles. Prices seem to have risen recently as well. All in all we'll be going elsewhere.

Dwayne, not sure who he is in the establishment, was rude agressive and disrespectful. I was visiting some friends who wanted to go to an old haunt and I've never met such unnecessary aggression. This guy should never be working with customers. I have been in the service industry for 14 years in every capacity from linecook, server, to GM.

Edit: Aparenently, Dwayne is the GM which is incredible. The man was swearing at me taking pictures and even went so far to say he would fire the person who was serving me. All of this for wanting to walk off the premises for a moment. Incredible.

Visited here last week. Service was slow and our server was completely ignoring us. You can say she’s friendly (like, TOO friendly) but didn’t show any politeness or respect. She came to us only one time except the first order and the payment. We asked separate bills and she charged my drink on my friend’s bill. So I tried to explain her and she said “Guys, these are all same price. ” even before I finish my sentence and looked us like we are idiots. And even after I explain what happened, she just said “Oh. ”, take the bills, turn around and disappear. What a great service you have!

Maddy's is always a good time. The vibe is college/ uni students and the crowd is fun, young and friendly. Tons of international students from ILAC and other schools as well. Cheap drinks before 11 so stock up and then slowly enjoy the night with dancing at the hall, playing billiards or singing karaoke. A must visit!

The atmosphere is great for people in their 20s, the multiple areas are interesting for different things to do. I do think that the prices however are a bit high, and there were some service issues when we were waiting to pay the bill with our server (2017 review). Hopefully there are some further improvements, I'm willing to come here again in the future and will update accordingly.
