No place like it. Taiwanese market with good food. The crispy Teriyaki chicken is very good. Staff is always friendly. Quick and efficient. They have a very large variety of imported Taiwanese snacks and drinks.

The store is pretty and very pleasant, they have specialty products from Taiwan that are good for gifts. There's a kitchen preparing bento boxes. The Taiwanese-style vermicelli was delicious!
There are a few tables outdoors, but no restrooms. Usually, customers can use the restrooms at the building across the street. Note: that building is closed on weekends.

Milkfish Bento (The fish is a bit fatty. I tried it for the first time, and I don’t like this kind of fish. The rice is hard. But it is fried very well, and the side dishes are delicious. I can feel the care of the ingredients

Adorable place. Miss Taiwan so much

Came here for the snacks, bentos, and free parking with $15 spend.

They took my order at the check out counter. There is some seating and utensils are provided. The popcorn chicken bento for $12.85 is great. Chicken is very juicy on the inside. Vermicelli bento for $6.99 is pre-made but not refrigerated, food safety is a little questionable as it does have egg and beef in it also. It's smaller than the warm bentos, but definitely still worth it if you get it right after its made. The noodles are a touch spicy and flavourful. The bao for $5.79 was just ok. Smaller than I expected with two pieces of pork belly that tasted like tea eggs. The flavour of the pork and the pickled veggies did not really match.

There are snacks, drinks, bubble tea ingredients, some grocery items, a wall of tea, soap, vinegars, and more. Overall, a good place to grab a quick lunch and a snack.

I was thinking to get some Taiwanese cake or snack gift boxes for my friends in the US, since last time I purchased a Oolong tea gift from here and got very good reviews.

I arrived around 2PM and it was quiet at the shop, with only a couple of customers. And there was this young man standing behind the cashier so obsessed with his cellphone that he even didn’t look up when I was seeking help to find my gift boxes. I felt that he’s acting like doing me a favor by helping me finding the gift boxes at where he works, if he really works here.

Then this young lady came over and found me a pretty gift box with assorted cookie and cakes, however she reminded me that it would expire by the end of the month. And then she told me that anything with no preservatives sold at the shop would expire in a month. I happened to have picked a box of pineapple cake in my basket so I had to check the expiry date of that box carefully. Fortunately I found it won’t expire until June and I showed the ingredient label to the lady: no preservatives at all. It was the most embarrassing moment of that day.

No matter how good their products are, I probably would not go there again within three months. And probably they shall not put “Taipei in Toronto” on the windows, because Maeli has little to do with the real Taipei, where people are kind, and services are impeccable.

The store is clean and the atmosphere is great! I love shopping here. You can find a lot of amazing Taiwanese stuff here. Their bento boxes are good, too!

I am happy to see a Taiwanese grocery in Toronto. Some are bit pricey but totally worth it I think. I grab a bento from here and drive to parks for a picnic in summer. Owner is very friendly.

Excellent store for all things Taiwan. Lots of treats, condiments, cooking sauces, and teas. Parking is free for customers who make purchases. Friendly staff.

This is a large market with assortment of Taiwanese foods and snacks. Hot food is also sold as take out. Some items are not available in local grocery stores so I would go back to pick up specific items such as 薑母茶. Lots of items also have nice packaging and are suitable as gifts. They validate parking.

Day trip to this part of town for this amazingly delicious Bento. I got the BBQ Beef bento while hubby had the Crispy Red Yeast Pork bento. Both meals were pleasing to the tummy as well as the eyes. We love Maeli at North York.

Taiwan comes to Toronto in a chicly designed store under a parking garage. Free parking if you purchase over $15 which is dead easy given the wonderful things they have!

Very cute store for both fresh/hot and packaged Asian snacks! Menu added below for everyone visiting.

Got to pick up some good gifts for the upcoming holidays. Will be back for speciality foods and drink.

Rude kitchen staff and food was awful. The cook didn’t look happy working there. I picked up a $5 Pork belly bun, when I looked inside, it was filled will just 3 thin slices of pork fat! Not a bit of lean meat. I wonder if the cook was just in a vengeful mood or just bad management.

EDIT: came back recently and found the store to have even more unique Taiwanese items at competitive prices. Staff is as helpful as ever. A young gentleman saw me looking through the tea options and offered his insight about the flavours.

Really enjoyed walking through this well stocked Taiwanese store. They have lots of real Taiwan imported snacks, drinks, cooking ingredients, tea, and more. There's also a hot food section that has some ready to go items but also a selection of made-to-order bentos and dishes. Staff are very nice and helpful. The space is clean and everyone is wearing masks properly.

There is a paid parking garage connected to the building but if you spend $15+ you can get parking validated for free.

Clean, friendly and quaint. Love going here for the lunch specials and snacks.

Looks like they've expanded their menu to include soft serve, sandwiches and more. Will need to be back soon!
