I have been dealing with Helen since 2015. My latest was this September for the complete alteration of a Tuxedo for my daughter's wedding. I ordered it o line and figured it would be the usual of hemming the pants. Helen looked at me trying it on and her fashion sense took over. She said they sent me the wrong size and I should send it back. It was too late; I only had a week until the wedding. She hemmed the pants, took in the vest, and the jacket shortened the jacket and the sleeves and had it all done for the wedding. I got nothing but rave reviews wearing it. I will never use anyone else for my tailoring or other sewing needs. She's the absolute best.

Huyen (Helen) has tailored well over 2 dozen items of clothing for me, including business wear and formal evening wear over a number of years. Every single item has been carefully tailored with attention and precision. Extremely reasonable prices. You will not be disappointed!

I rarely give reviews but I am compelled to after the amazing job that Helen did hemming my pants. As a short girl I have had to have so many pairs of pants hemmed and Helen did by far the best work I have ever encountered. Her skills and craftsmanship are top-notch and it is obvious that she takes pride in her work.

I tried to make a phone call for an appointment, and was very rushed and was told to call back, not a good first impression was made.

Helen was friendly and reassuring she could alter my bridesmaid dress (that was a size too big and too long) in just a week. She said my dress has a complicated hem, but she was able to alter it perfectly. She gave me a specific time and date to pick it up, and she finished it so that there was extra time to make any additional adjustments (not needed though!). While it was fairly expensive, you get what you pay for and it was definitely worth it!

I brought my dress in to have the train removed and shortened at the bottom and she did such a fantastic job! She made it look like the dress was designed that way. Couldn't be happier

We went to see Huyen (Helen) at Magic Stitch & Tailor for alterations for my wedding dress and for my mom’s dress as well, after a friend recommended them to me. Huyen was fantastic and did such a great job! She was friendly, timely, and personable and really made both of us feel so comfortable in her presence. She went out of her way to suggest that I didn’t need any major alterations as my dress still fit reasonably well off the rack – which ended up saving me a lot of money while still looking great! She made some minor adjustments by fixing a tear, shortening some ribbon, and then adding a few options for me to gather up my dress in three different ways for dancing later in the evening. All adjustments stayed easily in place and I had no issues throughout my day. My dress looked beautiful, and my mom was very pleased with the alterations on her dress as well. I paid 22 dollar for nothing. She measured all my measurements wrong. How i know? When she told me my waistline measurement i was having doubts. So i measure my waistline at home and she’s wrong. Even height measurement is wrong. All too big. I end up asking my husband to do all measurements. Praying.

Helen is the best tailor in Kanata. She is very professional and knows exactly what she is doing. Anytime I need alternations, she is my go to person!

I'm a chubby guy so whenever I buy new pants, I need them hemmed shorter. The owner here has hemmed many pairs of pants for me and its always been an excellent job. I'm very happy with the service provided, the price, and the speed.

When (not if) I buy more pants, I will go back here for hemming.

I highly recommend Magic Stitch and Tailor for all your tailoring needs! I have gone to there for general repairs before (patching/stitching), which were done really well. However, I recently entrusted her to replace the entire lining of my vintage leather jacket. She was professional, timely and meticulous (she even put the tag back in place). My jacket looks incredible and I could not be more pleased with the outcome!

Helen did a great job altering my dress to swear to a summer wedding. When I took the dress into the shop I was greeted with a smile. There was one customer ahead of me so I had to wait a few minutes. Helen made sure that I knew she valued my business and would be with me as soon as possible.
