Magical Taste of China - Dundas (Halal)/ 西域食府·清真

Great place to dine in with friends. Keep in mind that it has a bit of waiting time and make sure to come before it's crowded! Been here a few times and my favorite dish is Spicy Boiled Beef and Crispy Beef (really recommended!). Their dumplings and chickens (kung pao and sweet-sour) are really good too!

What kind of rubbish service does a man wearing glasses provide? The dog barked when the food was served. Does he deserve my tip? If there were 10 points, I would give the service 0 points and the food 7 points.

Ordered Pepper Chicken, Liangpi, Dingding Fried Noodles and Oily Pork Noodles, all I can say is that if I had eaten in Urumqi I would have been tempted to give it a 1 and call the People's Aili, but this is Toronto so I give it a 3, waaaaaaaaat rehmat adaxi

Okay, let's be serious. As expected, the pepper chicken and cold skin are all pre-made, and the chicken skin tastes a bit weird; but the fried noodles with diced diced noodles and fried pork noodles are quite authentic, but the skin teeth are a bit too soft, and the noodles are overcooked. It's a little hard, but that's not a big problem; the portion is okay, and two people can just finish it; I eat it in passing, but I wouldn't go to Toronto to eat it. Okay, I’m P+.

We go there once every month, we usually say let's go to try other place, but we end up going to Magical Taste. We are from Kazakhstan and we miss hand pulled noodles (lamian/lagman) and it's amazing in this place Staff is very accommodating, atmosphere is great!

Great atmosphere and interior, the food was nice and authentic but its a bit on the pricey side. I went with a party of two people and ordered 3 dishes and spent around $70

BBQ lamb and chicken were dry and poor in taste. Cauliflower and beef was cooked in a special Chinese sauce which was heavy and dominated taste of the food themselves. Also, the food was over fried. Pan fried dumplings were okay. BBQ Lamb Ribs was the best out of all we had. Though the ribs were not backed in fat and meat, but taste wise it’s the best.

This place fell off badly, beef quality is disgusting, chicken had a bad smell, service is fine, prices are not that good not coming back

Really enjoyed the hand pulled lamb noodles here, it was my favourite dish. I also ordered the wide noodles with bone-in lamb, which was fall off the bone tender in a tasty sauce, but lamb was a bit fatty. I also tried the pan fried dill and lamb dumplings, which had a little too much dill, and were a little under seasoned but still good. Generous portions.

Happy a halal option like this exists in china town. Service can be improved.

Despite serving spicy and tasty foods the AC in there was doing a great job it was almost smell free inside unlike other restaurants thats serving similar foods.

Found some new dishes that you don't get at other halal Chinese restaurants. Food including BBQ was good overall. Custard filled buns is a good dessert option too

I’ve been here a couple times now and I’ve never once left craving more food. The flavours they produce for you are extraordinary and the selection of options is huge. I suggest ordering a few small plates to share to best get the experience. Also a note, when they were on the south side of Dundas they didn’t serve alcohol but now at their new location they do.

Solid Chinese food restaurant with kind customer service and a delicious menu. Food comes hot and fresh and the flavours are exquisite. Will be returning for more dinner plans here for sure! Halal menu is an added bonus.

I love their food. Very fresh and portion is good. I order beef and lamb with rice. They are fresh and meats are tender. I will go back again.

Very tasty Xinjiang food. A lot of options. The food came fast after your order and the temperature is ready to eat.

Halal & Chinese. Authentic Chinese halal restaurants are very rare in Canada. One of the best authentic halal restaurant is called Magical taste of china. And there every food is really amazing. Loved it. Sitting style is fancy. Go with your beloved family on Monday or Tuesday you will love to seated there for hours.

Lovely place. Ohhh God you have to try these dishes. Reminds me of Shanghai when I was there in 007.

I went in and ordered food, the lady serving had so much unwelcoming attitude i never go back again. Bad customer service

Overpriced and average food. I found the food was bland compared to the other similar Uighur cuisines. Waiters are unfriendly. The thing that really turned me off is that they charge 2.79 cents for a pop, really!? That's $3.00 dollars with taxes for a can of pop. Anyway, i wouldn't recommend. Better options out there.

It is rare to see a trendy and nicely decorated Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. This place has a young vibe to it. And the food was surprisingly good. A wide variety of spicy (or not) authentic Chinese dishes. Fairly large portion. Already went there twice in one week.

Decent food quantity, service was fast. Staffs there were efficiency. The environment was kind of squeeze, but for good food I don't care about that too much. I will put this restaurant on my regular spots list.

Store manager was giving us attitude for no reason at all. Other waitresses and waiters were all friendly and nice. This is the first time I ate at the Dundas store location but the store on Spadina is far superior in both food, service and general dining experience which is why I bought a membership card in the first place. Will not be returning to this location.

Tasty and spicy food here. I was mostly interested in the grilled skewers but it’s kind of expensive here. Some pieces were delicious but some were mostly fat. The rest of the dishes were good, especially the spicy lamb wok, and minced lamb wraps. Service is typical for a mainland Chinese place. Their membership pricing seems to be worth it too. Overall would come again for the membership pricing and tasty food.

I’ve been looking for a good authentic Chinese place for a while and am glad to have finally found one. The food here tastes great, is a reasonable spice level (to satisfy both spicy and non-spicy palettes), and their portions were surpassingly good. They also have a large menu with a variety of meats to choose from.

Service is okay - it gets the job done. But come here for the food and you won’t regret it. I think there’s also a party room in the back with a spinning centre piece.

One of my good friends introduced this place to us. Xinjiang style BBQ is quite tasty. We had a variety of different appetizers as well as a few dishes from the lunch menu.
It was great! Recommended for meat and veggie lovers! (Seeing as we have to cater to our vegan friend as well) we still love you Viral!

An extremely delicious up scale Chinese restaurant that challenges the typical dominance of Hakka food with more traditional Chinese dishes that are still halal. It was a great place to bring my family, although it was a little pricey, we still enjoyed good quality food and even joined their membership program! The service was a bit slow and sometimes unresponsive.

Northern Chinese taste dishes. Good variety of choices, generous amount. Good price. The only issue is too greasy, boiled fish is totally soaked in 3/4 bowl of oil! Not healthy, could only try it once or twice.

Dropped by this restaurant at the recommendation of a colleague of mine. Atmosphere was quite lively, lots of cute girls waiting outside in the cold. Place is definitely pretty busy. Food smells very good must be delicious. The dishes I tried were quite excellent indeed.
