The food is alright. You get what you pay for. I think the price is a bit cheaper than nearby Korean restaurants but the broth is less flavourful and something about the food is lacking compared to other Korean places. You'll still leave full.
Never review but have to say this. I've traveled all over the US and Canada, this place hands-down has THE BEST Korean fried chicken! Crispy, juicy, flavorful and big!
DEFINITELY A MUST HAVE! at your own risk cuz you'll be addicted
Small intimate place. The staff was nice and effective. Tried multiple plates and came back with leftovers. The fried chicken was great, as were every other dish. Portions were nice.
There is a terikaki fried chicken dish. It is way too much fried chicken with too much sauce plus a small salad with too much dressing. Try a healthier option.
Had Tofu Bibimbap, rice cakes, and peach soju with some friends here. The food was delicious and were served in generous portions! The servers were incredibly kind and offered great customer service.
I've never been here before the new ownership, saw the good reviews, and was very excited for a good Korean meal.
Sadly it was subpar. The receipts on the computer had English and Mandarin or Cantonese, not Korean.
Something seemed off just from that. Side dishes were ok. Seafood pancake was grossly thick and over cooked. Cheese corn came out after all the entrees were served.
Pork bone soup somehow tasted sweet which was pretty bizarre.
The food wasn't bad, but it certainly did not taste Korean.
This small korean restaurant has a small menu of delicious food. We had the rice cakes, teokboki, and fried chicken (original and spicy). Spicy means spicy, so not a favorite of the kids.
The food was spectacular. I highly recommend this place.
I ordered the blugogi off Uber eats the description said the order came with rice and side dishes. I always really look forward to the side dishes from Korean restaurants and I had high hopes but unfortunately the restaurant didn't give me any of the side dishes so I was really disappointed. I was looking forward to some kimchi!
Be warned! This is not authentic Korean food in any way. The cook, staff are Chinese. For example, Korean fried chicken is famous but their fried chicken tasted more like "shake and bake". The Kalbi marinade was just salty soy sauce. The banchan (little side dishes) were not great, the kimchi bland. I'm not trying to rip on the restaurant to be rude, it's just very disappointing that this food is being labeled as Korean food and my friends and I (Koreans) were surprised at how good the reviews are. Maybe there's a proper Koreatown in Ottawa.look elsewhere!
Got delivery and was so surprised at how crispy the kimchi jeon was! Ordered various deopbap dishes which were fantastic. Had their japchae bundle previously which was awesome. Their house made kimchi is incredible too.
Unfortunately it seems like they have closed permanently? Online order pages are gone and the storefront seems gone.
My favorite Korean restaurant in Ottawa, everything on the menu is authentic and delicious! Love their japchae bundle, it's my go-to order when having dinner with a friend.
For the quality of the ingredients and the generous portion size, I find the pricing to be quite fair. I also love that there is a vegan option for almost everything on the menu, the vegan options are equally flavorful and very filling!
So excited to discover this restaurant! Not only was the Bulgogi bowl delicious, it was full of healthy vegetables prepared in interesting ways. It’s the best Korean I’ve had in Ottawa.
Fantastic service, and excellent food. We got the combo for 2 that comes with miso soaps, kimchi pancakes, and main dishes with your choice of protein. Overall, it could be a bit pricey, but definitely worth the experience, and delicious food.
We had the korean pancakes (fantastic), Miso soup (good), and Kimchi fried rice (fantastic). You can eat on the spark beer patio and get a beer there, it's right next door.
An unassuming place in Chinatown. We had it for the first time last night and it was a great surprise. The food was delicious and presentation was refined. I had the spicy pork rice bowl and my wife the Japcae salad. We shared a couple of the pancakes. I would recommend them all. We'll definitely be back.
Very delicious food! Definitely the best korean restaurant in Ottawa. Great service as well. You can tell that ingredients are fresh and quality is great! Definitely will return for more!
I went with seven of my friends and we were met with great hospitality and accommodation! The employees were very sweet in checking up on us often and making sure we had enough side dishes and gave large portions of meat for the platter dishes. The pajeon and bbq pork were definitely some of my favourites as they were obviously freshly made and used fresh ingredients.
The restaurant itself is quite small so if you do go with a large group I would advise calling in advance.
Overall, the experience was very wholesome. I felt very welcome and enjoyed the intimate setting of the restaurant itself!
Food and service are definitely good. Having a good Portion of beef and seafood than other Korean restaurants. However, I realized the bill already added in tips automatically without giving us any notice.
WON our hearts this place did. Such a fantastic find! The excellent service by Angela and the freshly-cooked dishes by the Korean lady boss at this spanking new Korean eatery (it’s only two weeks old) earned resounding praise from my whole family. Although the space can only seat about 16 to 18 pax, it is very clean and charming. Hearty in portion, the BBQ Spicy Pork Maht Bowl ($13.95) and the Ginger Spicy Chicken Maht Plate ($14.95) came with fluffy purple rice (in the bowl itself for the former and separately for the latter) and were extremely delicious. This isn’t that surprising when we found out that the lady boss makes all the sauces from scratch herself. The spicy dishes do pack a kick which we enjoyed very much but if you can’t handle spiciness, you can request for it to be cooked without her chilli paste. On top of that, her in-house made kimchi and pickled radish and onions are some of the best I’ve ever had.
