We randomly stopped in on a summer afternoon with my 3 year old and we’re so glad we did. Dia was so patient and kind to my indecisive toddler. She went above and beyond to make sure the piece my daughter painted is full of memories and made sure to get a photo of us. We’re so impressed and are definitely considering a birthday party here!

Was looking for something fun to do with a friend.booked in a lesson to do the pottery wheel first time. Dia explained & guided us each step. Really enjoyed this experience & would recommend.

If you’re looking to have fun with your partner, kids, family. This is one of the most fun things I’ve done in forever. Decided to do some ceramic painting and Dia was so professional in helping and giving me pointers. Not to mention she absolutely glows as you walk in the front door. You can tell it’s her passion. I can’t wait to come back with other friends and family and show them what an amazing experience it was!

We really enjoyed the clay wheel throwing class. Dia was a great instructor! We will definitely be back to try more.

Dropped in here on a PA day with my daughter and really enjoyed the experience. The cost of a project is built into the price sticker on the selected piece, which was very reasonable (no additional sitting fee or firing fee, and no limited window of time to work on the project). At 5, my daughter was able to select paints and complete the project with a pretty good level of independence, and I think younger kids could enjoy themselves here too with a little oversight and help:).

Fun experience and great service and certainly wonderful to have on main street!

My friend and I spent a couple hours here a few weeks ago to throw on the pottery wheels and I can’t say how FUN it was! Dia was so much fun, was very informative, and super patient with us (both with zero pottery wheel experience). She walked us through the whole process, gave great tips on how the clay works with water and the wheel, and was so kind and helpful when we had questions or made mistakes. We each got three pieces of clay to work with on the wheel, and got to pick our favourite to get put in the kiln for the next step of the process. We’re going back soon to paint our bowls and are super happy with the experience so far! Such a cute little spot right on Main St! So glad we finally stopped by to try, and can’t wait to go back soon!

Main Ideas just hosted my work party and everyone had fun! The owner is very kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and I always find painting there to be soothing and meditative.
I highly recommend Main Ideas for adults or kids, and especially for anyone who wants to unplug for a while.

The studio is cute and theres lots of options for ceramics. However I'm not impressed with their integrity and how they copied the concepts and designs of a small home based business, also in Newmarket. I'm confident Main Ideas could come up with their own creative holiday ornaments without taking away business from other local artisans.

I went there for the first time with my friends and the owner working there was so welcoming and friendly. They were really helpful and it was a great experience. I'm definitely coming back!

I have been here several times! I brought my young nephews here to paint ornaments, and they loved it. Dia is amazing with young kids and has the patience to explain and show them how to paint. She does small classes and even birthday partys. You can tell she really loves what she does! I would definitely recommend this to anyone young or old. I will definitely be going back to paint some Mugs!
