Their customer service is fine when they do serve you. I had to wait 30+ mins before someone came to greet me when I wanted to see some watches.
I know sales do have to spend plenty amount of time on the customers come first, but I think no greetings at all during the whole half hour of wait is still unacceptable. A simple welcome would be nice.
Ashley at Yorkdale Birks location was extremely compassionate, helpful and put all of her efforts into having a complicated engagement ring repair done for me. I am an extremely picky person and my ring turned out absolutely beautiful because of Ashley's efforts. I am so happy I was able to deal with her. The watch we were looking at is in low inventory everywhere, and they only had 1 in stock elsewhere in the country. After confirming that we were serious, he made a call immediately and reserved the watch for us.

We had a great experience at Birks. My husband needed his wedding band resized. When we went to pick it up there was a mixup but it was handled so well we didn’t mind one bit. This past birthday my spouse surprised me with the most beautiful emerald cut emerald. The ring of my dreams. Unfortunately it did not fit. Also sadly my husband saved the ring for months after buying to surprise me on my birthday. I was very worried that they would not return the ring for sizing. No fear! Jobert took the ring back no problem and returned it to the manufacturer for sizing. When they discovered sizing would harm the integrity of the ring they instantly ordered me a brand new one in my size. I could not be happier. It is stunning and perfect.
Shirin was the best in helping all of our concerns with our wedding bands! We had such a horrible experience with another rep but Shirin promptly answered and fixed all of the concern in regards to size issue with great follow up!

Shirin has been my go-to sales contact and she’s absolutely wonderful to work with; has great energy, offers useful advice and never pushy with a sale. The store had a vast array of jewelries and watches. Staff was very helpful most especially, Jobert. He was helping me and my partner with some wedding bands. Took the time to inquire what we both were looking for in a band and was very patient with us, what we wanted to see and he was very keen towards the details of each bands. Happy Clients indeed!

I made a purchase with Birks in Feb of 2020. Within 7 days, I returned the item back to the store without ever having wore the item. The sales associate at Birks claimed to have refunded the amount back onto my gift card but upon validating the balance on the gift card I still have yet to receive my money back. The store manager Ashley is very nice, however, the problem is still not resolved after 4 months until today. It is extremely difficult to get hold of anyone at Birks accountable during this pandemic time. I need to pay my credit card for the returning item despite having already returned it. I am left feeling hopeless to get anything back from Birks Credit Department. I am so sorry to say that, the sales team is amazing, the credit department is really sucks.
I would like to thank Loretta and Ashley for their excellent customer service. I came in to buy my brother a watch that they didn’t have in stock, but they helped me find another great watch which I ended up buying, they helped guiding me through out the entire process and even stayed with me past their working hours. Excellent customer service easy going sales staff, it was an excellent buying experience. Definitely recommend!
The Chaumet Josephine ring was the only reason I went into Birk's on Saturday December 7th 2019. The saleswoman was rude and clearly annoyed by my questions about the $80,000 ring that she could not answer. To my simple question of "How many carats? " She replied annoyed "Um, I'm not sure. " This saleswoman is selling Chaumet high jewellery and yet was incapable of answering any question other than the price. And then being rude on top of it. Next. Chaumet would not be impressed. I certainly was not. One star for seeing the ring. Otherwise pitiful customer service.
Understaffed to the point you have to flag someone down for assistance. When we were finally attended to, the associate left us without a word after we told her what we were looking for, presumably to help someone else looking to buy something pricier.
Plenty of other jewelers in the mall to bring your business to. They'll give you the service you deserve. If you really need to go to Birks, I've had good experiences with the one at Bloor.
Not very helpful.you have to go up to the sales associate to help you out I bought a couple things from their collection but as soon as another customer came in looking for a pricier item they left me hanging around. If you are looking for a birks that will treat you well go to the one downtown Toronto in the Manulife centre it is a completely different experience. I love the Birk brand! I wish all of their stores would be as equally attentive
Extremely poor customer service. Given the clientele they are trying to service, it was appalling this was what they deemed as an acceptable standard. We have been to other Birks before and the difference is night and day.
Sarah was an amazing help! I knew which ring I wanted and called Sarah two weeks prior to coming to the store. She had my diamond ring delivered to the store 2 days after. When I called other birks location they said it would take 6-12 weeks to get it shipped to the store. Sarah was also very professional, gave her full opinion on the ring and was very sweet. She is very patient, and kind. Next time I’m planning on buying a diamond bracelet and it will only be from Sarah at this location.
We bought our wedding bands and other jewelries here over the years. I also own a couple of watches purchased from this location. I usually come here to get their batteries replaced. Just picked up my watch that I left with them over a month ago for replacement. They said they will make a call when it’s ready as it usually take about 6 weeks to change a battery because they ship them somewhere. When I called them 2 weeks ago just to check, a lady named Ashley told me it’s received as per the computer but she cannot locate it so she’ll call me back then next day as the person responsible has gone home. I did not hear back so after a few days later I called again and I was told that the watch was ready for over a week now. Hmmm.why did no one call me to let me know? They charged $95 plus tax to change a battery. Not cheap but I expected that because I’ve been coming here many years and from what I was previously told, they will not just change the battery but they also clean the watch, adjust and seal it properly. This is not the reason for the 1 star. The service in this place has totally degraded. You get judged from the time you get into the store. No smile, no hello, no thanks for your business. If you charge that amount for a battery replacement don’t you think you can at least provide a decent service to your customers? I felt so unwelcomed in this store I did not even try to look around to see if I like their products. There are a lot of really nice jewellery stores in Yorkdale now. Won’t you try to give a better service to your customers rather than judging them? Maybe they’ll buy something because of your good service.
We were on a time crunch to get my wedding band. I had about 3 weeks till our wedding day. Fortunately, Ingrid was able to get the ring to me in time. She was very polite and patient throughout the entire process. I would definitely shop here again for Ingrid's service. Customer service at its best!
I purchased the engagement ring. It has been 10weeks now and I am still waiting for it. How long does it really take to resize or re-make the ring or make new ring? I am really disappointed and dissatisfy with it. The ring was not a discount or promotion. I paid in full of whatever price at that time. They can't tell me when is the approximate time to pick up the ring.
We have purchased a few select pieces from Birks and have to date received consistent 5 plus Stars when it comes to knowledgeable professional Friendly Service. The other important point is should you wish to sell any Item purchased at Birks The resale value is much higher just on the Birks name alone The highest Quality in materials and workmanship is also a factor. Aweful costumer service. Me and my fiancé bought their classic engagement ring. When we were buying it, costumer service was good, they were polite, and offered us water. We bought the ring and we were waiting on it to get it resized. When we were talking about it to our family, we discovered that his grandmother left him her diamond ring to propose to his future wife. We quickly went back to return the one we got (4 week later) but the lady was very rude to us all of a sudden because we were returning. I liked their items and I was planning on going back to get a pearl necklace, but seeing how rude they became changed my mind. They don’t know how to value costumer relations.
