Maison Selby

Ambience is wonderful and elegant, coffee is not their strongest point.

The taste, maybe we ordered the wrong food but salmon, egg, and sausage should be tasty at least.

The onion soup is not too desirable compared to ones I had in other places

Absolutely loved dining at Maison Shelby. Food was delicious, highly recommended the bread and tagliatelle pasta. Service was wonderful, and enjoyed the happy hour drinks.

Met a few friends for dinner. Volume was perfect for conversation. Food well presented and delicious. Service was fast and present.

Edit: Service has been lacking the last few times, but food is still delicious.

Oh my, how I've missed eating here.

Even in French restaurants it is difficult to find a good Foie Gras, the one at Selby was great, I loved all the food and the service was the best and very friendly

Very cute French Cafe. Decor and ambience is great as you're in an old renovated house.

Food was okay to good. French onion soup was flavourful, tageliette was cooked perfectly but the broccoli quiche we ordered lacked flavour and had a very mushy texture.

Ordered Tagliatelle which should come with black truffle. However, the one we got is just regular mushroom and not even truffle oil. Checked with waiter, and he said this should come with black truffle. But they do not have black truffle today. Then why you guys did not say anything in advance? ? ? Clearly they want to sell regular mushroom pasta with black truffle price.

Food was really good although portions a bit smallish. Nice atmosphere and very friendly service. We tried full menus: appetizers main and dessert and a drink.

Beautiful 135 historic building. Has 4 dining room along with a secret speakeasy. French cuisine. Food was fabulous.the service was wonderful and the ambiance was lovely.

Not sure what's going on at the Selby tonight but we were very disappointed.

Ordered squash soup. It was served warm and the amount I was poured barely covered the bottom of my bowl. I finished it in maybe 5 spoonfuls.

My main dish came first. Looked great but no one else was served their food. Thought this was strange and waited a few minutes. We had to flag our server and ask where everyone else's dishes were. Finally after a few minutes my friend had her dish. Had to wait longer for my other friend to get the same dish I ordered. Then finally our friend that ordered the steak tartar received hers.

I needed something and waived to a server who made eye contact with me then proceeded to look away and ignore me. He didn't even tell our server that his table needed assistance.

It was supposed to be a celebratory night and I unfortunately suggested going to the Selby because of my experiences before COVID. We won't be coming back and I won't be recommending this place any time soon because of tonight.

Beautiful interior with great lighting and delicious french brunch. Service was attentive and friendly. A bit pricey (~$20 per entree) but worth it for a treat. Everything pictured was great

I really love this place. The food is delicious, the staff are always attentive, and the cocktails are delicious. The espresso martini and the Selby mule are absolutely amazing ans my fav cocktails on the menu. Really great place!

We absolutely loved it! We were immediately greeted warmly. Camila, our server, was very knowledgeable about the menu and made wonderful recommendations. We ordered the Beef Tartare and the Duck Liver Parfait as appetizers, based on her advice. Absolutely delicious! We also ordered the Beef Bourguignon (amazing!) and Risotto (fantastic!). The drinks were superb as well - Old Fashioned, Selby Mule and some sort of espresso martini that I can’t remember the name of because I was very tipsy. I highly recommend this restaurant and we are looking forward to our next visit!

This place is great! The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing service: the host who talked with me on the phone, managers, our server and the bartender (OMG, he made me the best Margarita ever). Overall staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations.

Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Toronto.

Came here with my partner to enjoy Madison’s NYE tasting menu to close out 2022! It was a 6-course menu with a nice variety. Overall, the food quality and presentation were nice. My favourite was the scallops and beef tenderloin. The truffle gnocchi pasta was lacking flavour and truffle… Dessert was a pineapple pastry topped with vanilla ice cream. Not my favourite but also not a big fan of pineapple. I thought the price point was a bit high for the food quality and portion. The service was subpar as our waiter barely checked in could not describe our dishes correctly. Overall a nice evening with some shortcomings.

Was a bit let down by the poor service, wobbly tables, and drafty room. Not one of the better tartares I've had, but the cocktails were very good.

The food was meh, and Israeli couscous? Unappetizing. However, the bar downstairs is nice.

We've been meaning to visit for awhile, and finally had a chance to go for brunch. It was so good! Everything our whole party ate was delicious, and the decor and atmosphere is so charming!

Solid cocktails and food. However, waited an hour after being served appetizers and drinks for anyone to check-in or follow up. It's a shame - we wanted to order more. Instead, we asked for the bill and left.

Great meal celebrating a good friend's birthday! The staff made it a special day for the birthday boy!

I honestly don't know why my expectations were so low but we had a truly wonderful lunch here. Only reservations available were at 11: 30 so we came for an early lunch on a weekday (but the restaurant never got too busy while we were there).

First of all - and I'll mention this even though every other reviewer already has - the interior really is beautiful. So much so that we had barely taken our jackets off before my parents started having a mini photoshoot (good thing the restaurant was pretty empty at 11: 30!). Each room is tastefully and intricately decorated, I'd recommend taking a look around. Even the bathrooms are really nice.

We ordered a few dishes to share - the French onion beef burger, black truffle tagliatelle, mussels, and flat iron steak frites. I would reorder all of these except the mussels, which I thought were cooked well but needed more flavor (a few of them were slightly fishy as well). The fries that came with a few of the dishes were great as well - we polished all of them off. The burger could've been slightly juicier, but otherwise everything was cooked perfectly. There was a slight glitch with the ordering system and our food was delayed by a few minutes (i.e. A group who arrived and ordered after us got their food before we did). Honestly, we barely noticed and weren't bothered at all by it, but they were kind enough to comp us with the beef tartare and duck liver parfait to apologize for the wait. Both were delicious as well!

Service was very friendly and attentive. Great food and atmosphere - will be back!

Had a birthday dinner here. Food was incredible. Bursting with flavour. Prices were not outrageous but fair for the quality. Service was excellent.
