I hired the MakeupWorx team for my wedding and engagement photos are honestly it was one of the best decisions I made! Everyone looked beautiful. As much as I loved my hair and makeup, I was EXTREMELY impressed with my moms hair - for the entire year of wedding planning she was always concerned with her hair for the day of because of how short and thin her hair is - making it difficult to style at time. Evelyn did her hair the day off, and my mom was so impressed - the hair lasted for a couple days!

Your team, as always, was fantastic to work with and I can't wait to have my hair and makeup done by your team at my friend's weddings next year as they have also booked Makeup Worx.

1. Did the makeup artist hype us up the WHOLE time while applying our makeup? YES.

2. Did I have my makeup applied at 9am and it looked FLAWLESS until last call? YES.

3. Did the hair stylist do EXACTLY what we were looking for? YES.

4. Did the hair stylist provide as many last minute touches as we wanted? YES.

5. Did I ask them if they would be willing to do my hair and makeup everyday as part of their daily routine? Also YES.

I hired Makeup Worx for my wedding and the girls in my bridal party, my mom and mother-in-law were completely blown away by the amazing hair and makeup they received. Monika, Marley and Michelle did a truly fantastic job with everyone. I had so many comments on how beautiful yet natural my makeup looked and that made me so incredibly happy. I sent Monika an email 10 days ago asking if she was available for bridal makeup for my wedding next summer. She said she was available, I responded immediately saying I wanted to book her - asked for a contract and how much the deposit would be/where to send.

I didn't hear anything for a week, I sent another follow up email confirming what I had already said and what to send over.

I still didnt hear anything back, until now (10 days later) saying "as of today" that date was now booked.

I understand it is busy season but I didn't respond to other MUA for now 2 weeks and may have missed out on other opportunities because she didnt have the time to respond or let me know what was going on and then to still book someone now even though I had said 2 weeks ago that I wanted to book her.

Im sure the make up is lovely but risky to book.

Monika was lovely to deal with and very good at communicating throughout the process of booking Makeup Worx services for our wedding. Naomi and Amanda were so wonderful getting myself, bridesmaids and family ready for our wedding. The makeup Naomi did was so long lasting and beautifully done without being overdone. Amanda did a lovely job with all our hair. My Mum and Aunts who don't treat themselves very often felt very pampered and looked after which made me very happy. We had a wide range of ages and the ladies found a way to highlight the best in all of us! My wish came true when I had Makeup Worx for my wedding!

Do Not Use. Makeup worx was recommended by a close friend of ours for my wedding. Nonrefundable prepayment was required prior to any services offered. Instead what we received after payment was hostility by the owner Monika during every single pre-wedding conversation, poor quality service - the make-up was too dark and gave the mother-of-the-bride a sunburned look and even other employees being incredibly rude to other wedding vendors by trying to tell our hair stylists (another contracted party) how to perform their specific tasks on wedding day.

Do yourself a favour and DO NOT USE Makeup Worx for Any events.

I don’t typically write reviews, but wanted to share my experience with MakeupWorx. I used MakeupWorx for my wedding back in October that had to be postponed due to the pandemic. Monika was very kind when we spoke over the phone a couple of years ago, and I was looking forward to using her / her team for my special day. After that phone call, I followed along MakeupWorx and their team as they posted their work on social media. I got an idea of who the usual team was, and was excited to see who would be doing my hair and makeup for my big day. When it came time to booking my trial, we had a difficult time coordinating as I live 1.5 hours from their studio. We ended up settling on a week night where I met my hair stylist, who was lovely but I hadn’t see on their Instagram before, and Monika. I was told my makeup artist couldn’t be there and Monika would be doing my trial and passing notes onto her for my wedding morning. Fast forward to the big day where I met a makeup artist whom I also hadn’t seen or heard of through their social media account, as she explained she was outsourced and hired just for me that day. She said she had no notes from Monika, and we basically started from scratch to get me ready. This was disappointing but I am very easy going so tried to go with the flow that morning. Both ladies were very sweet, hired just for me that day, and did an okay job. To be completely honest, I wasn’t happy with neither my hair or makeup and my wedding photos are a reminder of that as I just received them back. I wanted to share this experience so other brides who watch the social media broadcast of other brides getting their hair and makeup done by MakeupWorx don’t get disappointed like I was. It doesn’t feel great as a bride knowing you didn’t “make the cut” for one of their posts, or maybe didn’t match their aesthetic. Paying for my makeup trial that I washed off two hours later for nothing was unfortunate, but I was understanding at the time. Just a heads up for others to make sure to ask if there is someone you’d like specifically for your big day, and get as much info as you can!

Monika and her team (Stephanie and Katrina) were incredible. So professional. And the ultimate hype women. They know how to make you look beautiful and feel beautiful. They are patient and know how to connect with you on a personal level to make you feel wonderful. This is my second experience with Makeup Worx and I would highly recommend.

I would choose more stars if I could! I’ve been going here for almost 10 years now and would not go anyway else. I moved an hour away and still refuse to go anywhere but here! Starting from when you first walk in it is absolutely beautiful! Monika is the sweetest and nicest person ever! Sarah is a gem and does amazing work! I was recently in a wedding party that Monika did our make up. WOW, very personable, and professional. She made me/us feel like a movie star. The make up held up very nicely for the entire day (even through a few tears). Very impressed and would highly recommend.

My late August 2021 wedding party and I had a really great experience with Makeup Worx. This is a huge shout out to the mad skills, professionalism and awesome personalities of Carly (Make Up artist) and Sasha (Hairstylist). Firstly, they both endured an uncomfortable ride out of town on very foggy, dark roads but both were on time for our early morning start. My “Maid of Honour” and I are very happy we did the trial session 2 months before the wedding as it really helped to set up preferences and expectations well beforehand. Our wedding party was made up of generally minimal make up, low glam, natural beauties including our flower girl. I (the bride) barely wear any make up on a regular basis. We were open to having some fun but hopefully still feel like ourselves. Sasha also did the groom’s hair.
As I told Monika after the wedding, Carly and Sasha hit it way out of the park! We are sooo thankful. They are wonderful to work with. From the time of the wedding ceremony at 11am, I saw myself once in the mirror. Not until after we were back at the hotel closer to 7pm, did I look in the mirror again! My face and hair felt fresh and in place the entire time as I was busily enjoying the outdoor ceremony, photos, our lunch reception, party, and second photo session! My groom who was missing his regular hairstylist due to the pandemic looked fantastic and he loved how we all looked.
We will not forget what the Makeup Worx team did (and neither will the photos when they are ready) and would highly recommend Carly and Sasha in a heartbeat for any special occasion you are planning for! Worth every penny and such a fun way to pamper your loved ones.

We used Makeup Worx this past weekend for my Step Son's wedding. There were 13 of us getting hair and make-up done. I had hesitated at first to commit to it because it is not an inexpensive service. I thought perhaps I could get it done elsewhere for less.
But it was 100% worth it! I have never in my life looked better! All 13 of the ladies looked spectacular. Gorgeous! My hair, which was curled, lasted the entire night, even through rain showers. I have no idea how they did it! Sasha did my hair. She did a great job. Stephanie did my make-up.amazing.
The day was great and so much fun. The ladies showed up on time, didn't take even a little break, worked right through until every person was completed. Touched up and fixed anything that was necessary. They were absolutely lovely to work with and very professional. Definitely worth the price. I would not hesitate to use them!

I had my wedding makeup artist and hair stylist cancel on me about a month before my wedding and Monika and her team are FAIRY GOD MOTHERS!
She was incredible. I did my trial one day before my wedding, because of timing, I was stressed and anxious, and the second you sit in her chair, Monika makes all that tension melt away. She was sweet, and makes you look and feel like a million dollars. I can't stress how kind she is.
On top of that, the makeup- she uses an airbrush foundation that lasted the whole night! It did not smudge or run at all. I also loved that she uses individual lash extensions that make your eyes pop, but also look and move way more naturally.
Her hair team member, Michelle, once again WOW! She was amazing. She listened to me and truly delivered on everything I asked. She found the right solution to keeping curls in my hair all night.
Makeup Worx was amazing to work with. They were flexible when things changed last minute, responsive to my emails and texts, and once again the sweetest humans to work with. My bridal party and myself loved working with them.
I am so happy and would highly recommend them. I hope to work with them again!

I booked Makeup Worx for my wedding and had an incredible experience with the team! Would highly recommend.

My hair artist was Michelle. During the trial she helped me figure out between 3 different styles I couldn't decide on, and I appreciated her honesty since they know what looks best for shape face, etc. We ended up going with half up, half down, parting to the side and it held up the entire day. It looked so beautiful!

Meaghan was my makeup artist. I absolutely LOVED it - it was exactly what I wanted even though I couldn't find a good picture of the look I had in mind. It was soft, natural but enhanced my features as well. The airbrushing is great too and holds up under a mask. I was so happy with how it turned out and got a tonne of compliments on both hair and makeup.

My bridesmaids loved their looks too, and everyone looked beautiful and felt confident. Thank you again to Makeup Worx!

I had the most amazing experience with Make up Worx, Monika, Meaghan and Kristina. They are truly beautiful humans inside and out. I am a perfectionist. I can honestly say I’ve never EVER had an experience with hair or make up in which I was 100% happy with and expected this experience to be similar. So, of alllllll the many services and vendors needed to make a wedding day possible, hair and make up was the one I was worried about most. I even packed my own stuff so I could fix it all after they left! Hahah
But I didn’t have to nor did I want to. Everything was perfect and I was amazed. They went above and beyond that day to make sure I was 100% happy with my look and to ensure my bridal party felt the same.

I had a wonderful experience having Monika apply my bridal makeup. I am 74 years old and her application was age appropriate. I felt like a "million bucks" when she had finished. The weather was very hot yet my make up lasted from church to reception without budging but it didn't feel heavy. Monika gave me blotting papers and lip gloss for touch ups.so considerate.
She helped make my day perfect and I don't hesitate in recommending her services to anyone.

I met Monika a few years ago through a mutual friend and fell in love with her immediately. She always executes my vision and will make suggestions for the most suitable makeup look I am trying to achieve. I have never found a makeup artist that has been able to give me exactly the look I have desired and envisioned. Her professionalism and friendliness are like no other and because of that I continue to want to work with her over and over again. If you’re looking for the perfect makeup artist, look no further! My friends wedding was cancelled due to covid. Given the hard times everyone is going through most vendors were very accomidating. This company tried to implient a massive cancellation fee. I feel sorry for anyone having to go through this and its sad to see companies try to do things like this during these times. I would not reccomend this company to anyone. Please avoid.

Monika did my makeup as part of a bridal party right before the pandemic. She did hands down the best makeup I have ever had done as a bridesmaid. Makeup Worx made my bridal party and myself look and feel absolutely amazing not once, but twice (during our small ceremony pre-covid and for our reception during Stage 3)! We felt very safe having our makeup and hair done as they followed all safety guidelines. Furthermore, the were very accommodating with our rescheduling during this uncertain time.
I am not a big makeup person and Monika knew exactly what I wanted when I said natural look. She made us all sparkle! Our hair was done both days by Sasha, who was also amazing! She was able to replicate exactly what my bridal party asked for and I gave her free rein. It was gorgeous the first time, and the second time was even more stunning. Carli and Michelle from Makeup Worx made my bridesmaids and I feel beautiful all-day long. Hair and makeup was flawless the entire day and my concern of makeup transferring to guests did not occur. Being an indecisive person, I walked in extremely excited for my hair and makeup trial. I loved what they created but got home and immediately changed my mind. Monika and Michelle acted quickly to set up another hair trial so that I was truly confident with the hair style I chose. My second look was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and held together perfectly on the wedding day. I also decided to change my makeup look last minute and Carli was able to recreate the look effortlessly. The two ladies were extremely punctual even at 545am. They completed the hair and makeup for my large bridal party and everything was completed on time. Everyone looked absolutely incredible and I am so happy I chose Makeup Worx for my wedding day.

Do NOT go anywhere else! I got my make up done for my wedding on Saturday morning at 8am. I didn’t wash it off until Sunday evening at 8pm! It lasted through the dancing, the sweating and the sleeping! The only reason I even took it off was because I thought it was time. Or else it would have lasted another day. They are AMAZING!

If you want too notch service and the best hand picked makeup artists there are, this is the place to chose for your big day, event, photo shoot whatever it is. I trusted Monika through and through with her selection of makeup artists for my wedding. I had Nadine and Marley, both very prompt with their arrivals, personable and extremely talented. My experience with Makeup Worx for my wedding this past June was nothing short of amazing. Monika was so easy to communicate with and she is just the friendliest, bubbliest personality. I was paired up with Angielena for my hair and my bridesmaids hair for the wedding. She did an incredible job! She really made my wedding hair dreams come to life. Monika is an extremely talented makeup artist! I loved the way she did my makeup and it lasted the entire day! She is a very bubbly person who makes you feel comfortable and uplifted! The only difficulty was trying to book in for a trial because they are so busy.

Booked them for my daughter's Sweet 15/Quinceanera Party and the service for hair & makeup was fabulous! They did my daughter's hair & make up and it lasted all night, our pictures turned out beautiful with her looking so natural yet elegant and her court of honor were just as pleased with their hair and makeup as well. Makeup Worx was very professional, punctual, finished myself and all the girls on time to make sure we were at our event with plenty of time. I would definitely use them again and would highly recommend them.

Had my hair done for my daughters wedding on June 29th with makeup Worx. HAIR FELL APART before I got to the church. The hairstylist met me at the church to fix it, but once again BEFORE SPEECHES MY HAIR FELL OUT AGAIN! Embarrassing.through the nite that guest were asking if I knew my hair was coming down.
I had previously sent a picture to the hairstylists so that she was aware of what I wanted. When I got up to look in the mirror she has styled it TOTALLY DIFFERENT then the picture I showed her.
$115 for a hairstyle that didn't last an hour! Quality work?

Just received a call by Monica the owner who just was rude and full of excuses as to why my hair fell apart. She argued that it was only "a pin" that had fallen down & so the hairstylist took pics before she fixed it. A COMPLETE LIE! She made a few adjustments and then said oh I should take a picture. Calling to badger a client after a terrible experience rather then apologizing for the experience. UNPROFESSIONAL ALL THE WAY!

Wow Monica how unprofessional, having to lie and mentioning my daughter. She has refused to give you any rating after what happened to my hair. Thank God her hair lasted and I will say it looked amazing. BUT let's not forget that when she came there for a trial that she paid $100 for before the wedding it started falling out before she got home. I know this as a fact as I got the call from her and stopped by to see what had happened. She was reassured that it would not happen on her wedding day and it didn't.
But this isnt about my daughter it's about a service I paid for. That is why my daughter told you to call me as it was me who had the unfortunate experience and she wasn't happy about i.

I sent pictures ahead of time and I still have the texts and pictures to prove it.and I have a photo someone took while I was giving my speech (4 1/2 hours later) to prove that it didnt last that long though Angelina assured me she had fixed and it would last the night.
Once again it started to fall apart after the ceremony (I don't believe that hairstyle she gave me would have held up in a PHOTOSHOOT). YES I told Angelina after she reassured me that wouldn't fall out that I was happy with it. Once again looked great until I started walking.

Not once was anything mentioned that it was a hairstyle that would only hold up long enough for a PHOTOSHOOT (no mentioning of this in any texts from you or Angelina). For Gods sake it was for my daughters wedding not a PHOTOSHOOT. Your hairstylist Angelina did NOT once mention she couldn't do it or that it wouldn't last. I would have gone with a different hairstyle not one that was going to fall out.

There you go accusing me of not being "capable of having a conversation". It only goes to prove your professionalism that you claim you have isn't there. You started talking to me when you called and then "raised your voice loud and clear" as you called me a "liar". My husband heard you through the phone. You wouldn't let me speak! I fully admit that at this point in the conversation I told you that I wasnt taking my review down and that the conversation had come to an end and I hung up the phone.

Businesses like yours who do not admit fault when something goes wrong dont last.

I have been in the beauty industry for over 16 years and beyond our best efforts at times things do go wrong. Its just best to admit and apologize and learn from them to improve our service and business. Hopefully you'll learn from this experience and handle your business and the way you speak to clients in a more professional manner. I definitely will not be sending any business your way. Monika worked on me and she was so nice and made you feel really comfortable! She listened to what I was asking for and offered suggestions to make the look even better, without making you feel pressured to do anything that may be outside of your comfort zone.

Ok, so I only have had my wedding makeup trial done - and I’m already in love. Sierra did an amazing job on my face, went with the look I was going for and gave me advice on my own makeup applying techniques. Airbrush makeup is such an investment - it lasts and it looks amazing. So glad these ladies will do my bridesmaids and me on my big day!

I recently got my make up trial done prior to the big day and all I can say is WOW! First and foremost, Monika and Meaghan were so helpful in accommodating my very tight schedule as I live in another province. They were able to see me on the only weekend that I was in town which I cannot thank them enough for.
Meaghan was so positive and upbeat, and did my make up exactly how I envisioned. The airbrush finish was perfect, and not too thick! You could still see my freckles on my nose which I loved. She also gave me some options for different eyelash styles. We went with the individual lashes which she built up to give me the perfect glam eye without being too over the top. She also gave me a sample of the lipstick she used so that it would last throughout the day.
I attended my bridal shower that day and my bachelorette party that night, and the make up honestly lasted until the next morning! I woke up the next day and my eyes still looked perfect. I received so many compliments from my friends and family about how natural and perfect the make up was.
I am so excited for the big day on July 6th and feel so at ease. Makeup Worx is an awesome team and I couldn't be happier I choose them to make myself and all my ladies look super glam. Thank you!
