One of the best nature trails I have been on and competes with some national parks like Algonquin. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the parking lot, and hopefully paving will be an option in the future.
Used to spend time there everyday now not too much but still love this place brings back memories memories back into the '70s and now it's lovely to see what they've done with it keep up the good work
Fantastic walking trail. Beautiful pond. We walk there often. Lots of wildlife. All the little birdhouses are an added plus. Much bigger than it appears from the street.
A jewel of a park with various colour-coded trails of various lengths which run parallel to the lovely Welland Canal, where there are additional places to bike, sit and watch the ships pass by through the locks. Some of the trails lead to Lake Ontario. You will pass wetlands, sanctuaries for a variety of birds, i.e. Flora and fauna.
The area doesn't appear to have bathroom facilities, my biggest issue. There is ample parking, and dogs must be on a leash.
Got a whole bag of garbage on our walk. People seem to pick up doggie dodos but then throw the bag on the ground. Disgusting to say the least. As far as the natural elements and not the human ones are concerned, a lovely place to walk with trails all over the place.
If you like gardening and looking for different tree species or birds this is a haven. There are massive sweet gum, tulip and cottonwood along with cork, hop, paw paw, red-bud, bitternut, Katsura, hackberry, Kentucky coffee and everytime I come here I find something new. See how many you can spot. I'm not sure when this park was created but I see new plantings all the time. While here watch the ships pass on the parks east side and watch for rare birds as this is the edge of town by the lake. A short walk to a major public beach. Also part of the shoreline trail and you can walk or ride it for miles.
Nice hidden place to stretch your legs, take your dog for a walk while looking at Mother Nature, bird watching. Just the parking lot is rough, muddy, pot holes
I was a volunteer back when this park opened and it is wonderful to come back and see how it has developed. Great place to walk or bike. Wheelchair accessible stone path.
Well kept clean park. Nice place for a nice stroll with your kids or just your significant other. Or If your just out to walk your dog? Head to Malcolmson Park. You will love it too.
Parking lot is small here, but a very nice park to walk year round. One can see the ships in the canal, numerous birds, foxes, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, lots of dogs being walked, and Jasper barking with joy.
Love this park for taking my dog for a walk. Always friendly travellers along the way walking, running, cycling, or dogwalking. Very clean and nice trails.
This park is really good. Nice for walk or ride ur bycicle. You can breath pure air feel relaxing. Nice trees and you you like photography then you will get nice pictures. Is a very quiet place with bird sounds. In winter I will come here and take some pictures. I guess with snow it will look beautiful. Highly recommend it
