The food has been better in recollection of my last visit, the sushi seaweed and salmon were chewy and smoked rather than raw respectively; however, Leo and Faye, were beyond helpful with service. Might come back again if peer pressured

Recently it has been very bad. They do not wash their dishes well. The fried chicken still had Feathers on the skin!

I go there alone every time I go to buffet to get food the waitress take my half plate full on the table away! They look out that you don’t eat a lot and the foods are not healthy they put lettuce somewhere it’s hard to reach they are so smart but next time I bring my eating buddy and we will eat like a beast for sure I ask from waitress to take a picture from me she said I can’t! And she was trying to get rid of me to serve next customer and she choose the tip I did not want to tip her 12% it was absolutely 2 % at most

Since Mandarin reopened we have been to the location in Newmarket 3 times, and we wanted to share this experience because the service we received was remarkable.
They have in place enhanced sanitation safety measures from wearing plastic gloves each time you go up to the buffet. They are frequently disinfecting surfaces touched by employees and customers. They continuously change the spoons at the buffet. Many stations everywhere for the hand sanitizers. Tables have been removed for Social distancing and even social distancing spacing between customers while in line at the buffet. Dealing with the staff at Mandarin in Newmarket is always excellent, especially Gary the manager. We have never met a manager who is so involved, friendly and accommodating with all your needs. Such a pleasure to deal with!
We highly recommend going there! No matter what you require they are extremely accommodating and will get you anything you may require.

I'm not gonna lie.we were nervous about going during covid times. But we were quickly put at ease when we got in and they went over the protocol and safety measures. They even have gloves for you each time that you go to the buffet! Very impressed, mandarin!

Really like this location. Have been going to this location on and off over the years. Now I have this has my go to location specially compared to the Barrie location. The staff is so friendly, nice, helpful and makes the experience really enjoyable. The manager is so nice (I think it’s Gregory I could be mistaken). I do recommend this location.

Love the quality of food and selection at Mandarin. They always have the best service here, very professional staff. I have been going here ever since they opened the restaurant and love that they opened at this location. I hope the business thrives for many more years to come in Newmarket

The worst ever food take out!
All dishes ordered were not fresh, rice oily, meat was tough, vegetables withering and wet. Never again at least not from this location. Waste of money spent!

The small dish menu is a disaster with small portions and high prices. Not a good dim sum experience. Will return when the buffet is back on a daily schedule only.

Came here with my daughter and granddaughter for a birthday lunch. I've always liked Mandarin and this visit was no exception. Food was great, staff friendly and efficient, and I'm VERY impressed with their COVID measures.

Ordered take out from our usual Mandarin location in Newmarket and I have to say for the first time I was disappointed. Several dishes lacked flavour and they did not send condiments for egg rolls etc. I know staffing is short but the food needs to be of the quality long time customers have come to expect.

We've been to Mandarin before in Markham, and while they had good customer service, everyone here was super friendly, from the hostess, to the server, to the cook and the manager, Gary. Great service.

My family and I have been coming here for years. Always a pleasant experience. Great food, excellent service and warm greeting from Manager Gary every time we come. Highly recommend.

We understand the need to increase prices, but the increase of 17% is unacceptable. Please bring back the "small eats", served during Covid.
We were unable to understand the server. Because the server misquoted the price, we walked out. We thoroughly understand restaurants are having a rough time hiring staff, but they should hire staff who speak English clearly, or are understandable.
People who came in after us, were served before us. Plus, we made a reservation for four, and we were taken to a table for three. It was left up to one of us get our 4th chair.

If you have a mask exemption they don't allow you to get food at the buffet. Instead want you to sit down at your table while the person your with can get you food. Also everytime you get food they force you to wear plastic gloves and dispose of them before you sit down. Waste of gloves and plenty of plastic.

Beware handicapped or individuals with oxygen respirators, they wont allow you in.

Son has a medical condition and a doctors note allowing him not to wear a mask, they told us he could not go to the buffet.

Immediately went to a different Mandarin, and they were already aware that this was no issue (with a doctors note.)

Going to file a human rights complaint, thank you for the bad experience for me and my family.

The food is predictable here. We go here because there's always lots of variety and something to suit everyone's taste. Not much has changed menu-wise post lockdown. Still a great time. Still comatose afterwards.

First time coming to this Mandarin. Staff is attentive. Friendly, and quick to serve. The restaurant is doing the small dinnings and it is great service as well. Recommended to visit again when in the area.

Drive an hour and half tp pick up take out. Was refusedthe use of a washroom. Had to use the parking lot.

One of the best Mandarin's I have ever been to. Even with the pandemic, the staff still ensure that customers are getting the best service and experience. Don't be afraid to try their take out option as the food is still amazing!

Extremely disappointed with the food. Expecting to eat Chinese food, this place doesn't even come close to the authentic Chinese food taste. We ordered close to $80 worth of food. Not a single dish tasted good. For example: The chicken almond dish chicken tasted like boiled chicken, literally. The mixed vegetables had absolutely no flavour at all. Chow Mein had no taste whatsoever. Every dish was just boiled. Even hospital food has more flavour than this place. If you looking for Chinese Food please avoid this place. I would give them 0 stars if I could.

This has to be my favourite Mandarin. I ordered online for pick-up. The food prepared efficiently and all employees followed Covid-19 safety precautions. If you’re looking for a place that serves in big portion with a large variety of food, I would recommend ordering from here. Especially their Thai mango salad!

Crowd of about 30 people waiting outside and inside for their take-out orders. Some waiting more than an hour. No social distancing and total lack of organization

Me and my family just recently visited this location. The service and food were both amazing and we have no complaints. The new style of menu ordering was also very well thought out and well priced. Definitely worth a visit!

The server needed an assistant for our party. I had to ask 3 times for a coke and I wasn't offered a refill.

Very nice and clean location with consistently good quality of food and service. The middle fish tank is currently under repair (March 2019), but it did not dampen the mood at all.

The staff are always very friendly. The buffet is great for growing and hungry kids, and there's something that all of us enjoy. You'll never leave this place hungry!

The Mandarin is a boring restaurant. We all know it. It is where you go with a group of people who either can't decide or don't care about eating good food. Quantity does not beat quality.

The choices are amazing and my cocktail was quite strong. Free dinner for birthdays, and discount for over 65.

Food is tasty, not sure of it's good for the waist but of you treat it like a treat and dont over indulge it's pretty good.

I liked the place alot with many more dishes they included this year all are awesome and delicious. Susan is such a nice person with us! Thank you all of you for such hospitality.

You can count on the Mandarin for fast service, reasonable selection, food was good. Not a fine dining experience, slightly expensive for what you receive.

They have TONS of food options, lots of seating, and I absolutely love how they have the "sky-inspired" ceilings and fish tanks everywhere! It truly feels like you're in a chinese-oasis! The downfall; the food itself. (Which is why I can't give this place 5 stars). There's a lot of hits and A LOT of misses. I especially do not recommend any of the Amercian-style dishes (ie the pizza, the fries, etc). Just stay away from that all together, you'll thank me later. Honestly, the best way to find the tastiest food is to just keep going up for more servings!

Good noms, drinks are expensive, but the food quality is decent and the wait staff are always polite!

Server was very attentive.food was hot and fresh.prime rib was awesome.found out that wonton soup needs to sit for awhile when it is first made:) the hostess station put the night over the top with fresh candy floss.

This place has been shut down for health violations.no thank you. Check the dinesafe website for their history of violations.

This is where my family orders take out from. The food is always consistent and you never need to wait long for pick up. Good price and you get a lot of food.

We arrived around 7pm to celebrate birthdays.
The Sushi bar was okay nothing special. Some of the foods was not warm or hot, looks like they STOP making or cooking food at 7pm. The dessert area NOT so good either. The sesame balls was hard, sad can't eat it.

Very beautiful decoration, fresh ingredients and incredible variety! The staff were perfect and lovely.
Everything was delicious and I loved the experience.
