Always great food and excellent selection of food If they have several shrimp dishes as they always do and crab legs I’m in heaven On an interesting side note, I used to be a delivery driver for the first location of the Mandarin restaurant when it first opened in/81
I Went here yesterday for new years eve for the first time in years. It is definitely not how it used to be. The food was ok, nothing special as the quality went really downhill. Their customer service has always been great hence why I rated 3 stars. I don't think the price is worth it anymore unfortunately.
My family had a wonderful time thanks to Jo Jo and the rest of the staff, she has a very upbeat and outgoing attitude with not just us, but everyone in the room. We all left satisfied with the great people who were kind, patient, quick and full of humor. We hope to come back and see them again.
This restaurant is simply awesome. Recently, we celebrated our daughter's sweet sixteen birthday party here. Dana and her team were amazing. They provided very warm and welcoming service to all my guests. The food was excellent. The all-you-can- eat buffet had a great selection of items, including appetizers, main dishes, and desserts. They allowed put up our own decorations and use our sound system. All our guests were very pleased. A great place to celebrate a special day or throw a party.
Since when was mandarin this expensive I was charged $90 for old dry food, and the Chinese lady serving us kept following my sons in the restaurant and thinks there going to leave the restaurant without paying, she also forced me to tip her I told her how I didn’t want to because she was being rude and breathing down my neck and following my sons she tried to tell me how her 1 year old daughter would tip and I as a grown women wouldn’t? What the heck is her problem? I am not obligated to tip one if I don’t want to…. Anyways mandarin is not how it once was, fresh food, friendly workers, cheap buffet all you can eat, now it’s completely the opposite. Never coming back here.
Food was nice, atmosphere was beautiful and service was good until it came to payi g the bill. The lady who attended to me brought the payment terminal with tip already included. I did not get a chance to choose the amount of tip to give. I was literally forced to give a $16 tip. I was stunned, I could have given more or choose to give whatever amount I want but in the case the lady forced me to. Just like being extorted.
We had a small gathering and decided to order Mandarin for our guests, some who are vegetarian and some that aren't, our order was well over 100+, unfortunately we were given the wrong iteam and our vegetarian guests who ordered fish were left watching our other guests eat, untill we had to come up with another option. We called the store to complain about the issue, and we're told they did know about the mistake and did nothing about it. No phone call to say Atleast we had made the mistake, they offered to bring an order of fish but I wouldn't want my guests eating the other food cold. Manager wasn't helpful at all and said to deal with uber eats. Unfortunately will not be ordering from this Mandarin again. Even the portions were terrible.
I Love Mandarin, we missed to go in dinner, we still ordered delivery when there wasn't an "in dinner" option. I really enjoy the service, the food, the environment. My husband and I went last night, we were impressed of how good are their safety measures, with the Covid and all, there's a few tables in every room, a table with sanitizer and gloves for yours and everyone else's peace of mind, in every room as well.
What I liked about this place is they have private areas so you do not have to be seated with others, you and your group can occupy an area and you are comfortable. The ambiance was great and the food was delicious. Great customer service. The staff was wonderful. They need a raise.
This place is still self serve, which is the fun of buffets for me. Clean place, nice staff, and the food was passable to good for what you'd expect from a buffet place.
First time back to any mandarin after the pandemic originally began in 2020.
This was a much smaller location than other mandarins I've been to. Not as much options as food as their are in bigger locations. But the price was also less due to this fact.
Also found out they only do dine in on Thursday. Friday Saturday. So if your going to this location. Call and ask if they have availability.
I love the fact that they do insist in mask while getting food and for you to wear plastic gloves everytime you enter the buffet area.
Fun experience. Server was super friendly. And talkative. They even let us use $70 mandarin bucks coupons we had. But I also tipped nicely as well. Ontop.
I hope they can pick up business to allow more food choices. Like other locations and expand the buffet a bit.
Don't bother ordering online. The portions are small and prices are high. Food is terrible. They obviously dont care about customers trying to support their local restaurants. Never again
Was there on Sunday 11/4/18 party of 5, while eating our first plate of food in section B we seen a cockroach one on the table one on the wall.my problem is this, the manager was so worried about the pics I took and asking me to delete the pictures, didn't apologize or offer us all A free diner then or in the future I decided I would post it here, and also I called health board as well as Toronto Building Inspector.our Server was great friendly. I also e mailed the Manager a pic Of the roach but never got a reply back.wont be back!
I ordered in. Probably the worst experience from here. Chicken balls hard and hardly any chicken. The chicken tasted old. Pork fried rice tasted burned. The Broccoli and beef. The beef tasted off. The egg roll and chowmain was good. $70 dollars wasted I will not be returning.
Lots of selection of american chinese food. The food is tasty and service impeccable and clean. Wish they would put few more authentic chinese dishes on the menu, but that might drive some of the core clients away. Sushi is the only thing that I wish they did better. Would visit again once they open up
Excellent, fresh, good quality food and desserts. Large pieces and large quantity of tender meat in the chicken chow mein and the beef and veg dish. Meal arrived in the allotted time.
I just ordered from the Mandarin this evening. While I found the food to be pricey for the portion size, my issue is with the food quality. The rice smelled strongly of an ashtray, and had an ashy taste as well. It went promptly in the garbage, as did the rest of the meal as I was concerned what must be happening in the kitchen for the rice to smell and taste like that. I will never order from this restaurant again - I'm absolutely disgusted.
Went during ronavirus for the individual plate menu. Food was great, though for 3.5 people there wasent any savings to be had. You can take home leftovers though so bonus.
I ordered takeout right before they closed. Normally you would expect old food thats cold and dry but not with Mandarin! Everything was piping hot and clearly freshly made despite me being their last customer. This was my grandpas favorite restaurant before he passed away and the magic I felt coming here as a kid is still there! Thanks Mandarin! You've kept the magic going for this 30 year old kid even in these tough times. Why try anything else when you get quality and service like this?
6 of us went to the Scarborough location today for my 55th birthday and it was fabulous! I am an avid fan of the mandarin buffet and wasn't sure what to expect with the new format, but it was incredible. Jackie the manager and his team made sure we had a five star experience. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. I definitely recommend going. Thier delivery is also great.
I have always enjoyed their food. I still enjoy. The cost of the menu has gone up and the containers have gone down. We are all financially hurting. If you have to charge more, do so! ABSOLUTELY DON'T BE CHEAP ON PORTIONS! To be absolutely serious, I'm looking for another place
Really loving how spread out the tables are now. The food tastes so fresh. You can take left overs home now since you're paying for each dish. Also, portions are generous for the price.
