Excellent service et nourriture délicieuse. Nos serveuses Sandy et Mimi ont bien pris soin de nous. Nous n’avons manqué de rien tout le long de notre souper. On y retournera assurément.

Our servers, Julie and Brianna, have been amazing! We were attended to quickly and provided with great service. When we asked to be moved to another table because we were seated under a relatively dim lighted table, they were more than happy to move us to another table. As for food, 5/5 as usual as they always have fresh batch and the ingredients were all fresh. The atmosphere is also amazing as the servers were all engaging. Will definitely come back again.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great smile and attitude. Lucy and Brianna were very professional and delivered amazing customer service. Food was tasty, hot, and fresh. The cleanliness of the restaurant was well kept.

Great authentic Chinese buffet!
They have great COVID protocols, allowing customers to wear gloves while picking out food, bags to store your mask, and to throw away used gloves.

The food were better than I expected, with a variety of selections.
We went for a birthday dinner, and they gave us a surprise cake, took a picture of us, and printed it out for us in a magnet frame.
They also gave us the calendars for next year!

Food was good. Still plenty of dishes to choose from. We went for lunch time and little bit early and the place was not too busy yet.

Wonderful experience! They had great Covid-19 protocols. The staff were friendly and helpful. Make sure to call and reserve spots ahead for their buffet. I visited Mandarin to try their brunch buffet. They had a great variety of food options including veg and non-veg options. I loved their variety of dessert options too. Overall, I loved the ambiance and food. I will definitely visit again!

What an amazing place! The food is absolutely delicious and the buffet selection is great! I can't possibly get out of these without being insanely full as the food is just so tasty! The service is always impeccable, the staff is very friendly and attentive and I have to say, the warm towels to wash your hands is pretty nice! The decor is also impressive! Definitely worth the price!

Buffet was great as usual but I think the quality of food has slightly gone down. Overall good to be back to the Mandarin having my favorite foods.

Attended a birthday party, party of 20! We were very well spread out. Didn't feel cramped at all.
Was more at ease that prove of vaccine was a criteria to be seated.
And the best thing was the food was good, and fresh. Lots of options for the buffet.

Variety of tasty food
My son chose Mandarin to celebrate his birthday and it was an excellent choice. When they knew it was his birthday, they gave us a small magnetic frame with our picture. Very friendly staff.

Mandarin is the absolute best Chinese restaurant. Food is amazing, clean fresh and tasty. Service is top notch. Excellent value. I have visited the Toronto one and the Ottawa one- same excellent quality.

Though not cheap, the food is great. Great place for that I don't know what to eat night. You get a little of everything or you can grt alot of everythig. Eat your fill. Definately not disappointed.

Buffet fare was Chinese food, sushi, and simple Western food. Covid precautions were wearing gloves and mask on only when getting food. Clean bathrooms. Two stalls and a urinal with good theming.

Great COVID protocols in place, very clean and felt safe. Staff are lovely. Great food selection, my child had a great family birthday dinner here.

They serve buffets only on weekends. We visited this place on a weekday, so we had A la carte. Almost all the dishes we tried were good, except for a few. However, the waiters were placing the dishes in a hurry on the table, and there was a spillage of food many times.

We were there for lunch buffet. My wife is a vegetarian and I don’t think they have a lot of options for vegetarian. For non vegetarian it’s good place. We went there on Friday. I didn’t see crabs and sea food options are less. I think they will add those on Saturday and Sunday. I have got hair in egg omelette. The manager immediately responded and apologized for it. These little things happen. Other than that food is good but little but pricey.

We ordered the Family Special with a Puzzle. All dishes were excellent and there was enough food for more than 4 adults and one child.

Absolutely the best Chinese food and service in Ottawa. I have never been let down by Mandarin in Nepean. Thank you sooooo much for the loving care you take with my food and delivery. I recommend this place to anyone. I will tell you a story. I am in quarantine because I had contact with a neighbour that tested positive for Covid. We decided to quarantine and called Mandarin for delivery because they have healthy fresh food that the kids like too. I informed them of the situation so their delivery driver would be cautious. Never did I think that the restaurant would take so much care with everything.from the fresh food to delivery standard with no contact. I now know why Gordon Ramsey recommends this restaurant. Bravo! Mandarin in Nepean, Ontario, Canada. Top of the line in quality of food, service and delivery. The girl that answered was awesome:). We did take away for one of our family members birthday. The quality has dropped tremendously. The noodles, rice, salt and pepper prawns which (had the full shell on), the black bean sauce beef was like water, hot and sour soup.nothing was good.nobody ate well! Very disappointed!

It is not really buffet style anymore. We were told it is not all you can eat anymore. The price per portion is from $1.99 to $5.99. It seems like you have to do a lot of work to order your meal. Now you get a chart that you have to mark what you want accompanied by a chart that shows you pictures of some and not what all the dishes look like. The beef was cold. The creme caramel was gross. I felt like I didn’t even need the plate that the server gave me because all the food came out at separate times so I felt like I was just eating from those bowls. It’s like a game of Russian roulette, for the items that don’t have pictures you don’t know what you’re getting, it may taste good or be gross. That’s what happened with 3 of our picks, not to mention the wonton that was deep fried and was supposed to have chicken in it was absolutely empty. We paid 50$ including tip. It was kind of a rip off, highlight of the meal were the chicken dumplings and general Tao chicken, those were pretty good.

The staff of the Mandarin Restaurant have the most wonderful friendly smiles, and the food is out of this world good and affordable.

We ordered take out for our 63rd wedding anniversary for delivery. The order came at exactly 5: 30 which we had asked for. The food was delicious with the exception of the spareribs which we very dry. We could not eat them. However we will certainly order again.

Some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in Canada! They’ve done away with their buffet system and now deliver small plates of food to your table, and it’s honestly never tasted better. A must visit!

The current menu is very affordable. Jennifer who served us was so nice, attentive and helpful.

We went back for the first time since lockdowns were lifted. The food was very good and nicely presented. The great part was that we were able to take home our leftovers. We are going back again soon.

Menu est plus limité que ce que ce type de restaurant propose normalement mais les mets populaires s'y retrouvent.
Menu "à la carte" qui suggère des portions qui se partagent facilement entre 2 adultes.

Service impeccable et notre serveuse principale d'une grande gentillesse. Autrement, tous les serveurs étaient avenants.
Facture totale un peu plus élevée (2 adultes, un ado, un enfant) mais possibilité d'avoir des plats pour apporter le surplus.
Idéalement, commandez moins, un peu plus souvent, car les portions sont généreuses.
Patrons nous ont offerts des pêches gracieusement ainsi qu'une crème caramel qui devait être délicieuse car je n'ai pas pu y goûter ‍️
Très propre et soucieux du respect des règles de Covid (plus sévères en Ontario qu'au Québec). Beaucoup d'espace entre les tables.
J'y retournerais fort possiblement.

Don't get it twisted, it's a buffet. But this place has lots of staff and keeps the buffet clean and full. We were 14, no reservations, and they still managed to sit us, without a wait. But I definitely recommend having a reservation because the place is packed and we saw people wait a long time.

Waiters are nice, quick and polite. Hostesses not as much, probably because we were 14 without a reservation! Still, not a reason to be rude.

Anyways, it's a nice buffet, I give it a 4. But it's waaaayyyyy too busy for me.

Great food, price looks high? BUT IT'S REALLY NOT, BEEN GREAT FOOD AND GREAT VARIETY OF INGREDIENTS, IT'S ACTUALLY VERY AFFORDABLE.

Food was very sub par. The staff recommend to try the prime rib, and I sincerely would not recommend anyone to eat it. Very tough and dry! 1 star is for service.

Amazing restaurant! My family and I really enjoyed the food and the service most especially the warm towels. After completing our meal we were gifted with Mandarin Calendars to celebrate the New Year!

For the dinner price, which is high, food and selection are both mediocre. If you have a few people, you can easily buy 2 dishes per person to share at most non-buffet eat-in Chinese places for the same price that Mandarin is charging and have tastier food. I would say it is only a good choice if you specifically need to accommodate people who won't enjoy the same foods, or if the location is convenient for you. As it does include all the ususal 'American' foods plus some extra and their quality is better than at most Chinese buffets (I feel confused writing that but it's true).

Great spread of Asian food. Salad bar is ok. Dessert is ok. Sushi and sashimi is ok.

The cooked food is prepared really good, nothing too exotic or offensive. Lots of noodles, rice and fried stuff.

If you sign up for their mailing list, you get a birthday discount, and they’ll celebrate your birthday together with you. Great for kids. Wonderful service. Would recommend.

Ordered take out, first tip off about this place was being kept on hold for 3 minutes, then calling back to wait again for them to take my order. Egg rolls were the worst i have ever had. Everything else was mediocre at best. Would not recommend or go back.

Every visit here is fantastic! Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Tons of selection and always fresh. Best to make a reservation as wait time for dinner is usually 30-75 minutes.

For a buffet, it was fine. Tons of selection from sushi to Canadian Chinese dishes to Turkey! Load of desserts too and many private rooms. For a work luncheon, it worked.

They're is not alot of buffet in Ottawa and Gatineau, but this one is a diamond. Food is so good, service is excellent and also for a buffet restaurant they are really professional. The restaurant is clean and it's very affordable. It's so busy (in a good way) that it's better to reserve first if you don't want to wait around 20-30 minutes. I guess everyone love this place and that's why there's a waiting time. Anyway I recommend this buffet to everyone I know!

The food always seems fresh and well stocked, and they are quick at clearing plates away. It can get very busy and is not uncommon to have a lineup or long wait.

A bit more expensive than the Chinese buffets you're used to, you get what you pay for. The food is fresh and delicious! The restaurant is also well laid out with the seating in large rooms away from the food. The buffet itself is well laid out with lots of room to navigate between the aisles. I was very satisfied as a vegan and my omnivore friends said the steak and salmon was superb. The place was also very clean, including the washrooms. The only negative was that the place was so popular at lunchtime - and that on a Monday - we had to park all the way across near the Popeye's.

I love this restaurant and I would recommend it to anyone living in Ottawa. Staff here and extremely friendly and food is so good. They also give out free cotton candy!

Excellent service, and so polite! The buffet is never empty and drinks are always refilled quickly. Love it ans would recommend anyone going through to take a stop in here.

This is probably the best North American Chinese-style large-scale buffet house in the greater Ottawa area.

Insanely popular / busy spot. The parking lot reminds me of Costco sometimes.people queued up waiting for other people to pull out of spots.just nuts.

Food is fresh. The place is extremely and impressively well-managed / highly efficiently run. With the volume of satisfied people (including families with children in droves) everything moves along like a well-oiled machine.

Staff is polite and helpful (no matter how insanely busy).

Buffet prices vary by lunch and dinner, and by the night of the week (due to availability of more pricier specialty items on some nights).

Food-wise, they have something for everyone. Hard to imagine food sitting in those buffet trays for too long. The food really moves.

If planning to eat in, reserve ahead (even for lunchtime and week nights). Yes - it is that busy / popular.

If you are just buying gift certificates of want takeout, make your way to the counter in the entrance / reception area (where the bar is). Don't worry about the mob you may have to cut through to get to the bar (they're most likely all waiting for tables inside). Your takeout order will be taken immediately or almost immediately. After your order is taken, you will have to wait for a bit - because they actually cook up your order separate. They bag up everything nicely too.

Regarding takeout (my own personal preference), everything is fresh and good-tasting. Plenty of food at a surprisingly reasonable price. Obviously, they cater to a huge market of people with varied flavour preferences. You may need to add a bit of extra soy sauce, for example. (I like that you don't get that funny feeling in your gut afterwards. Noticed that the very first time.)

I get my vegetarian spring rolls here, and when I need a gift certificate - this is my "goto" place.

(Note: If you are a sweet & sour sauce lover, their sauce is different tasting. Personally, I don't care for it. Perhaps it is more tomatoe-y tasting, if I can describe it. The masses of other people don't seem to have a problem with it though.)

Had lunch here today with friends. Restaurant was spotless. Food choices were fresh, plentiful and delicious. Staff replenished constantly. I cant say a negative thing about the restaurant. Second time and will return. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

It is a little bit pricy but it deserve it. Very good food variability, very good service. If you go there with family it is better to reserve as the wait in que is not nice. Otherwise it is a good place

Amazing restaurant. It was my first time going. Very large selection of all types of food. Fast friendly service. And a dessert bar that will make your teeth hurt. Lol

This location is just as good as the Orleans location.

The food selection is plenty, the quality is good, the service is very friendly and fast.

It has all the dishes you'd expect at a Chinese buffet but the cleanliness and quality is very good.

I like the fact that they provide you with a hot towel! With a lemon smell, before and after your meal.

Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because price is a bit high, and there was no creativity in the dishes, they are the typical buffet dishes.

I would definitely recommend it!

Lee Yu and Charles Feng are the most amazing managers here at Mandarin. They are always available for anything you need or want.
We arrived late, had no reservations and they found a table for us in minutes. The food and service (Bonnie) was amazing as always. We’ve had Bonnie before. Amazing as always!

Mandarin is very popular and always busy, but I don't understand why-this place is like the Denny's of the buffet world; I have been to far superior and cheaper ones. The service is speedy and friendly, but food is truely terrible. The buffet is a real crapshoot, but I managed sample nearly everything. The beef dishes are mostly chewy and tough, the chicken is either fatty and rubbery or deep-fried to the consistency of an old leather belt, and the seafood was bland and salty. The steamed or fried vegetables are squishy and bland. The best bet seems to be the salad bar and the and the spring rolls. The best meat dish was the Korean chicken, if you avoid the fatty bits. The bill was just shy of $80 for two people and two drinks. I won't be back unless someone drags me in. Finishing your meal here is more about giving up than feeling satisfied.
