My Family and I have been loyal patrons at this location for over ten years. We've always been quite satisfied.
But I must say that the last two times we ordered take out, we were very disappointed.
The food was bland and lacked flavor.

As you will see, I've changed my original rating of one star, to four stars, as a goodwill gesture.

But please change the way you cook your dishes to the way they used to be.

Another great meal from Mandarin. Super fast delivery and food was fresh, hot and delicious and an added surprise of a delicious sweet.

Great staff and food and l had my birthday dinner here and they made me feel like l was one of their family members

Placed an order for delivery-got a message AFTER the order went through “Order Rejected. You were charged when you placed the order but now the transaction was cancelled”. No explanation or apology. I called Mandarin and the woman on the phone just said very matter of factly (as they have received a “number of calls like mine”) that I would be refunded-they are “busy and can’t deliver the food within a reasonable time frame”. My refund can take “up to 48 hrs”? So much for trying to support local restaurants during Covid-19. Never again Mandarin.
Do yourself a favour-if you do decide to ever give Mandarin a chance-at least do NOT use online ordering service-you may end up with no food and your money held for up to 48 hrs.

The meals and service were above our expectations. I really loved the atmosphere of this spot. First-rate spot to take my family out for lunch.

This location is pretty good. They do normally try to modify dishes if asked (we sometimes add spice to a recipe). Best pepper steak with onions around.

If no buffet, don't go there, l went today at 7: 15 l shocked.l order 40 plates for me and my family the food for test only.very little pieces,
from 7: 15 to 8: 15 we got the salad, fish, spring roll and sushi, every 15 mins you will get a dish.so l think you have to stay 5 hours to get your order, after l got these dishes in an hour the waiter said the chicken is not available, l told her please cancell every thing l can't stay 3 hours to get all dishes, we paid $74 for salad and very small piec of fish, I brought shawarma from other restaurant to complet our dinner,
l dont recommend, very bad idea

I go to this outstanding restaurant every couple of days because I love the ambiance that is exist in this restaurant. The staff is exceptionally attentive and qualified. The service is absolutely efficient. Most important, the food they serve is highly distinguished. I came many times and I was always satisfied. The cost is modest. I suggest this place to all my friends.

Decided on take-out for dinner - called and spoke to Nancy, who was very polite and helpful! My meal was ready in 15 minutes and I was offered a complimentary dessert. Thanks for such a pleasant experience!

I once arrived at this restaurant with family less than an hour before closing. We knew that we would not have much time, but liked this restaurant from previous experience. The manager himself came to kindly warn us that we had very little time left, but we assured him that we were aware. He checked in on us a couple of times, to make sure that everything was to our liking, and to ask if there was any specific dish we wanted before it was removed from the buffet. At the end, he gave us a small discount! (We did not ask for one.)

This is a restaurant where management clearly cares about their customers and takes pride in the service they provide. I find that is rare in today's world. Many other restaurant managers would have been annoyed by late arrivals like us (even though we made sure to leave on time) but this one was a consummate professional through-and-through, showing us kindness and even a certain humility in not being able to give us the full dining experience, even though it was in no way his fault.

My regret is that I do not live especially close to this location, but I go out of my way when I can to dine here and recommend it to friends.

Disappointed with take-out. They use white containers which are smaller than the ones used at the Matheson location in Mississauga. I edited the review, I know you're trying your best under the circumstances. Thank you for staying in business during these difficult times. Wish you success always.

This restaurant is the one I like best. I go to plenty of restaurants but here I keep coming back again and again. The stuff is very amicable and the cooking they offer is so appetizing. I would always prefer to have a nice meal here. I recommend this place with pleasure.

Poor service on Christmas day. No special food, actually less than the food served on any weekend. It was total rip off and this is Mandarin policy, how to rip people and serve worst quality

Although ambience is good with a lot of salad and sweet items, but it lacks the Halal meat and very few option for Halal looking people to eat.

Sushi section is worst.

A good place to celebrate birthday as they give complementory giveaway for the birthday person.

Been here a lot of times. Great variaty of foods, from chinese to local cuisine and desserts. Taste could be improved though.

Went there for Christmas dinner. They have huge variety of salads, cheese cakes. Could not try non vegetarian section as am a vegetarian. But overall my experience was good Would love to go there next time

Better than other south Asian Pakistani and Indian restaurants. No oily food here and you feel light.

Without a doubt our favourite restaurant.and location. We actually don't dine out anywhere else unless someone is paying for it. It has the widest range of food for vegetarians and that is the most important thing for us when dining. Kacen is our favourite manager.

Was very disappointed in the service. We were the only table in Room F for quite awhile our plates were not removed in a timely manner. The service was slow.

Buffet is ok. A bit overpriced for the options, in my opinion.

This location feels a bit crowded and hard to get trough the stations.

Great food, wide varities, busy branch but good service. The only issue is their sushi isn't that good as expected.

This is the third time I have been to this location on Dundas Street. The franchise owner is obviously more concerned with his bottom line than the customer. Two of the best items that are found at every other Mandarin are NOT available at this location. The pizza that is served at all the others is only made if you request it, brutal. Who wants to sit around for 8 minutes waiting for a pizza at a buffet? Secondly the chocolate fudge cake is not available at this location. Also the pepper steak is never as tasty as the other locations.

The owner of the restaurant came to my table to greet me & my family, we appreciated the kindness but at the end of our night he decided to pay us a visit again only this time to take control of the interac machine. My parents were taken by surprise by the total amount on the machine, apparently the owner sneakily added %15 tip to our bill. Mind you we were a table of four out for a birthday dinner, the service was typical mandarin buffet service, nothing special, so if I felt like tipping more than %10 I would but don’t add it to someone’s bill without their permission. It’s a sneaky, dirty tactic that puts a dirt stain on your restaurant. The fact that it was the owner is even more appalling and it just makes it clear that he was only stopping by tables to overcharge costumers. I’m posting this review as a warning to future visitors to pay attention to amount charged on your bill and machines.

I've been to this location over 10 times throughout the years and many others in GTA. My family adores this chain and I did as well. We came here for a birthday event and I was extremely dissatisfied with the service and disappointed with the food quality this time.

The restaurant is impeccably clean and the vibe is good but the food on this day tasted bland and we all got full after only 1.5 smaller plates each, which is very suspicious. It has been nearly a year since last visit to this location.

At 30$ per plate its unfortunate for me to say YES sushi or KB sushi minutes away offers pretty much the same food options at exquisite quality with ipad menu.

It's important to note we received a free birthday dinner, but we would of preferred to be happy with food and pay more.

TL;DR - go here, you won't be disappointed.

Staff: extremely welcoming at the door, helpful and friendly. Absolutely no complaints here, everyone did a great job.

Food: WOW! The best buffet I have ever been to! The food is cooked wonderfully and tastes fresh. There is a variety of food options to suit all palettes/dietary requirements including sushi, roasts and lots of veggies and salads amongst all the Chinese style cuisine. And then dessert! There are SO many options. This is a fantastic place to eat for ALL ages.

Drinks: a wonderful selection at reasonable prices. Some fun cocktails, mocktails, slushies, beers and even (my favourite) bubbly by the glass.

Will I come here again? YES. But not too much otherwise I will be another number in the obesity statistics.

Well, we were here about two weeks ago even though Mandarin is not my first choice because I do not like the concept of communal buffet setup where hundreds of other patrons have handled the serving utensils etc. KING CRAB LOVERS: Mandarin discontinued this most attractive option for seafood lovers. We asked the manager and he said Mandarin has decided to stop offering King Crab as part of the buffet menu and to reflect this, they reduced the menu pricing by $3 per person. To add, the taste of the food in general is average. I would rather just go to a dine in regular Chinese restaurant when I want Chinese food. Unfortunately, we will not return because of this. Too bad Mandarin.

I go to this place regularly and everything was lways great but this time i was so disappointed. We went there for my father birthday party, food was good, service nice but when came to a bill i was shocked. My parents came from different country, they don't speak English very well. When my mom paid the bill and left $10 tip the server did left our table and waited for more, he did come to us he turned to my 15 year old son to give more tip at least 25%. That was super rude and for sure i won't be back there!

All Mandarin locations are not alike. This Dundas St. West restaurant was the best of the three Mandarin restaurants I've been to. It was Saturday at 630 pm and while very busy, it only took a 5 - 10 minute wait to seat our party of 6 without prior reservation. The hostess was almost apologetic for the wait time and I reassured her, this minimal wait time was no inconvenience. Service is very prompt and efficient. The buffet was constantly being re-stocked with fresh food and the staff moved about virtually invisibly among the patrons. A very wide selection of food is available and everything was wonderful except the curried chicken was not how I imagined it to be. The curry was terrific but the chicken was not reacting well with the curry for some reason, but overall the food was excellent, hot, well seasoned and never in short supply. I realise some people are not fond of buffet service but everything was clean and protected and at these prices for an all you can eat experience why not try it at least once. Many groups had family celebrations taking place which added to the fun experience. Dine in or Carry out available.
